Im a nearby resident who has had a membership on and off since this Y has been built. I appreciate the friendliness of the staff. Ive never needed the childcare services, but as a parent Ive noticed the effort to keep the children safe and the facilities clean. The classes are diverse. The only things I would like to see added : a sauna, racquetball court, and tennis court.
I Love this YMCA, I dont live in the neighborhood, but dont mind to drive out there. I took my husband there to the wellness center everyday, the members there are very nice, they always say hello or goodday when they see each other.. . Is make us feel very comfort when we are there; they place is clean, the staffs are very sweet and polite, always greet to you no matter how busy theyre.. Thank you staffs ! y’all make us feel like family. and thanks for the great work! even though its just a jobs, but you done the best out of it 😊😊.
BUYER BEWARE! Even though the facility is always nice, clean and fresh, it is their membership collection ethics that I refute. If you sign up for automatic withdrawals with YMCA Orem their merchant provider, ECard Transactions, uses loopholes in the banking system to their advantage. They set up payments as an autopay instead of reoccurring payments. The problem with that is the banks can only stop reoccurring pays not auto pays set up by a merchant. So you have no control over the $$ coming out of your account. Also if your debit/card # changes for whatever reason, the merchant provider will call the debit/credit card company and get all of your updated account information so they can continue to charge your card even though you have not personally or directly notified them of any changes. So for instance, if you have a payment that is withdrawn on the 15th and your number has changed since then, they wont notify you. They will call your credit card company and double back and charge your account a few weeks later when they have obtained your new credit/debit card information. So just BEWARE, dont set anything up with a merchant, but preferably through your bank and/or a prepaid card. Other than that.... Orem is a great location, but protect and look after your money.... you earned it and worked hard for it! Just for the record, I paid an entire years membership and never went, but thats on me (I’ve just chalk it up to giving to charity). But when I wanted to discontinue paying, I found out about this issue of not having any control to stop my payments to them in addition to cancelling my contract.
I love boot camp and intense workouts with knowledgeable instructors
Love this place 😊 staff is always so welcoming and warm. Definitely feel apart of a family and a community when here!!!!
I love this location because its close to my house and its an extra bonus to get the friendly service! Omar is the best ever, he speaks to me by name and he also knows my babies name! He makes me feel important and apart of the YMCA family! I go for the gym which is where I come in contact with Mr. Cleveland, who makes yoy feel comfortable and safe. His friendly personality is an added bonus! As a single mother of 4 I dont like spending extra money but they make it worth it! The free daycare while you workout is also great, there is a lady by the name of Armida who my daughter just loves to dealt because she makes her feel special. Thank you!
DO NOT GO HERE! My seven year old went to the summer camp program at first all seemed well but we started to notice changes in our sons confidence and attitude. I found out that he was being bullied by older kids that were not suppose to be in his class since he was in the seven yr old group. I spoke with director Sid who seem very apologetic. We put my son in boxing classes to be able to defend himself Thank God we did because the next week he got in two fights in one day . So we were upset about the fights but boys will be boy we were more livid at the fact that counselors were aware of both incidents and we were not notified nor was the director notified we only found out from our son when he told us. We called and spoke with Brooke assistant director and she explained that she would tell Sid the main director but hrs went by before he called so my husband called back and still Sid was unaware of the situations. I am horrified at the thought of others things that could have happened to other children and no one was made aware. My son will never go back. We were so excited too with the field trips, swimming and sports. Sid was the best but the staff and counselors are not equipped to handle these children nor participate in a chain of command.
The staff is kind and helpful. Sports is kind of disorganized. Hoping it will improve. Definitely doesnt have as much amenities as the larger ymcas but its a nice ymca to have in this neighborhood. my daughter enjoys the afterschool care
My son has went to this camp for 2 years. As a parent Im very displeased with the activities and food this location provide for the kids. The amount of money we as parents have to pay weekly is ridiculous. In my opinion, payments should not be due on every Tuesday you all dont know the strain it put on a parent especially as single parent as myself. The amount it cost for the camp the food provided is unacceptable my son constantly tells me that you all give banana bread, granola bars, small boxes of cereal. On a daily basis what happened to A hot nutritional breakfast as well as a hot lunch really sunbutter sandwiches for lunch how dare you serve kids this type of food!!!! The money asked for should accommodate better field trips weekly along with a fulfilling breakfast as well as lunch and a snack I am a very dissatisfied parent and will voice my opinion when I bring my son this company need to go back to the drawing board and look at how things are done put your self in mine or any other parent shoes this wouldnt sit well with you either. And the smell in that place is horrible something need to be done who want to smell body funk on a daily basis. Signing off a very dissatisfied parent!!!!!
West Orem YMCA has very friendly staff and instructors and is clean and children friendly. They have football, basketball, soccer and swimming pool for the children and a daycare if theyre to little for the activities all while you attend yoga, zumba or you workout.
I really enjoy the workout classes. Great people at this location.
I actually went there today for the 4th of July. My kids just wanted to have fun and enjoy the pool. They did the swimming test to go on the slide which is almost never open. They did the test and my son failed on the doggie paddle test. The staff didnt give him a second chance. l went to the front desk and ask for manager on duty and there were no one. They asked me to come back on Friday and talk to the GM which is very stupid if since we wanted to have fun on 4th July. How am I supposed going to comeback on Friday. My son was crying and angry and l was very frustrated because there was nothing that l could do.We are paying the membership just for the pool, l dont need the gym only the pool which is is only open to the public for a few hours on the weekend and during the week it is one or two hours. The slide is always closed. We are YMCA members since 2012 and we are part of the community. My son had swimming classes there, but it didnt matter to them. It is very unfair that the day that you want to have fun, they say that there is no manager on duty, and they tell you to comeback or call on Saturday and talk to DANIEL RANGEL.They dont care about customer satisfaction, no exceptions, they just want your money to be there for the time the transaccion and if it is not, they charge a fee.But thats all the YMCA care about it. If you are happy or your kids are happy, that doesnt matter to them.
Really enjoy the YMCA’s classes, location and the cleanliness!
If you live in the area and have kids, this would be an excellent place to take them.
For a great work out come to the Cardio Pump class!! Calorie burner….
They only give you 1 hour to be in the pool from 7 to 8 what fun is that. Also some staffs are rude .
It is actually not a good place to exercise, got my car Window broken and no one care about it, no one new anything. When ever you want to use the pool or Basketball courts is either a class or its full of people playing without having a membership friends bring friends and no one ask them for memberships. That place sucks. Is always busy and not everyone has a membership. The pool should be always open to the members.
Kristen was amazing great customer service she did her job need more people like her around
Good clean place
Nice.
