This is the best place to buy reliable used engines for Japanese makes. I bought Toyota Camry engine from them last month. I am very impressed. I took my mechanic. They did compression test in the presence of my mechanic. 6 MONTHS UNLIMITED MILEAGE WARRANTY IS UNBEATABLE !
We are a repair shop in Woodlands, Tx. We have been buying mostly Toyota & Honda engines and transmissions for last few years and never had a problem. They have a very professional team. Customer service is outstanding !I have seen them unloading containers from Japan several times. They have a massive operation. Around 4pm each evening large 18 wheeler trucks line outside to ship engines all across USA. I am very impressed !!DONT BUY FROM JUNK YARDS. BUYING ENGINES & JAPAN FROM THEM IS THE SAFEST OPTION. THEY GIVE 6 MONTHS WARRANTY ON ENGINES & TRANSMISSIONS FOR 3 MONTHS WARRANTY.
Engine world did a great job communicating with me and working with me on finding all the right parts. Very professional on the phone and very friendly. I called expecting to have to ask questions like most other places but they were on top of everything and answered questions before i even had to ask. Purchasing and paperwork was very easy and was able to do it all through my smartphone. I am very pleased with the experience and the reassurance that i was getting a good low mileage engine and not a salvage yard engine like my mechanic wanted to do.
Engine World did a fantastic job installing the new engine on my car. They were polite and professional and could tell they knew exactly what they were doing. Could not have had a better experience.
I bought an engine a year ago they gave it to me with a bad timing chain and now the engine is over heating.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! We are a very reputable business that buys from several companies and we will never buy from this company again. They have moved the time of shipment out 3 times. They sent legal documents with the wrong name on it. When we called to discuss these issues with them a man that you could hardly understand called us a liar and wouldnt let us get a word in edgewise.
Buying an engine has also been a challenging task for me. I dont know anything about engines so I used to rely on my tech to find one for me until I found Engine World. Buying an engine from them is like buying a computer from best-buy. They pride themselves in selling engines that they would install in their on vehicle. They tested the engine so my tech could see before we bought the engine, not to mention their unbeatable 6 months warranty. My Honda is running without any problems since I bought engine from them 5 months ago.
This place has always been a top notch shop. From the Owners to the Techs and their Shop manager is probably the most knowledgeable in the business. Recommend highly for all your repair and Maintenance needs.
I bought an engine for my Toyota Highlander last month from them after shopping around for a month. The first difference between them and others is that no one in Houston gives anything close to 6 months warranty like they do. Most importantly they offer to test every engine. I verified with my mechanic if he knew them before purchasing. They have been in Houston for over 12 years at the same location. Im glad I bought engine from them. My Highlander is running strong like before !
I bought my 2000 Honda Civic EX engine from them last month. I am very happy with the motor. I visited their shop, saw them testing the motor. Last week my best friend also bought a Toyota Tundra engine engine from them and he is very happy. I saw their operations. They ship 9-10 engines nationwide daily. I saw 18 wheeler loading up their engines.I would recommend them as great option for Japanese engines.
Avoid this company at all cost !!! I give this company plenty of chance for a positive review, but I can not give them a good one. In Sept 2014 my shop bought a Subaru engine They where quick to get the credit card for payment. then everything goes bad!! I made sure they have all the proper info for the vehicle and send the wrong engine. it took them 2 months!! to get me the proper engine. if there is any issue they will put you on hold and ignore you. if you call them with a different phone they will answer right away. If there is any warranty issue God help you. after 5 months the engine they send me starts to over heat. (has a head gasket issue after 5 months) when I talked to them the idiot tells me the head gasket has nothing to do with the engine. of course he put me on hold and ignore again!! when I try calling back same thing they will not answer from the phone I used, I used my cell and they pick up right away. This review is similar scenario with the others I read. so you know this has merits!!
I need an engine for my Scion TC 2008 2.4 ltr. They convinced me to buy a rebuilt engine. I visited their machine shop and I was very impressed. Ended up buying a rebuilt engine two months ago. Im very happy with the engine. I think this is the best place to buy engines in Houston.
Me and my brother bought 2 engines from them in time span of 5-6 months and both our engines are running great. Engine is a huge investment. Guys dont give your money for free to junk yards who dont test. We are in Las Vegas, Nevada but they have done great job. They test every motor before they shop. I bought Honda civic engine & my bro bought Toyota Camry 2006 motor ! We will always recommend them. Hope this helps the community !
Called to get prices on engines for my prelude and the guy was very deceptive on the phone. Ive worked on cars for most of my life and know when to recognize poor business practices. My advice is to read all the other reviews and properly vet anything you get from this guy if you choose to do business. He could be legit, but he is certainly not getting my business.
These positive reviews are BS. I got hosed hook line and sinker buy Engine World USA. Should have looked at the BBB results before buying a engine from them. My BAD. They say engines are tested, total lie. After installing the engine it burns 1qt every week. Total Junk. They hung the phone up when I asked for refund. After calling around I found out Engine World USA are buying engines from Japan junk yards. They have a good story about 50,000 miles or less and every engine is tested, BS. To meet their warranty you basically have to rebuild the entire engine you just bought from them.Buyer beware. If you buy a used engine from anybody ask them to test compression while you watch.
1 Star is far more than this company deserves.I bought a 3vz engine from these dipsticks and was the worst decision of my life.On this rebuild they used old rusty head bolts instead of new bolts.First thing I notice is that the distributor casing was on the wrong side and above the cam with no gear to spin the distributor.Later realized that the heads were on backwards. The heads are nearly identical but mixing them up will cause 2 problems. The power steering pump will not line up properly and the distributor will cannot be seated.I made the repairs myself instead of wasting more time with this incompetent company. When I hashed out the above problems and got the POS running it smoked like an old tired worn out engine, a constant stream of blue smoke.Mike Jag was completely unhelpful addressing these issues. He told me that the heads were identical and could not be mixed up, he was flat out dead wrong. I was expected to pay the shipping cost of returning the engine and lose 20% of the engine cost for a cancellation fee. I paid $2110 for the engine so the cancellation fee would be $422 plus the cost of shipping. In hindsight returning the engine and taking a $600 to $700 loss would have been the better option.
Im a single mom and I depend on my 2008 Honda Civic heavily. Two months ago when the engine overheated my mechanic recommended me to buy a low mileage Japanese engine from Engine World Inc. He was right !Buying an engine from them is like buying a new car from showroom. They offer to test every engine and it comes with 6 months unlimited miles warranty. I wish I knew about Japanese engines last year when my sister needed an engine for her Toyota Sienna.
Houston is full of junk yards but they are one shinning star. My friend bought an engine from them last year. I needed an engine for my Honda Civic few months ago so my friend took me to Engine World Inc. I was surprised to see over 1000 engines in stock. I dont buy that quick but after I found out they they were low mileage engines from Japan. I decided to buy from them. They tested compression, leak down & oil pressure on the engine also. Their 6 months warranty is unbeatable ! I would always recommend them.
I was shopping around for Acura Integra engine for over a month. I didnt know that they existed in Houston. I found them on Google and called them several times. Each time I called them I was more convinced to give them a try. I am a mechanic so I decided to visit them and have them test the engine for me. They have all ASE certified mechanics and have an in-house machine shop. I was very impressed just by the presentation as it seemed like a large corporation with over 15 employees. They also own an Equipment rental business at the same property. They tested 3 Honda B20B engines for me from which I chose to buy one. I think everyone in Houston should buy from them !
Worst experience! This company dragged out the process and our engine took a month to ship. Then when we went to put it in, the motor was not timed so it had to be taken apart, and there was no timing chain or gears. Why would an engine come without that? The General Managers attitude was so self-righteous and disrespectful when we called every other day after the third week asking when our engine would be ready...and then why it sat there finished for a week because he couldnt find a company to ship it. Shipping motors is their business! He repeatedly said he didnt care about customer service, he builds a quality motor and we should be happy. IF this was a quality motor customer service would STILL be a priority. Unfortunately, its not even a quality motor. Its been almost two months now and our son is still not driving his car. We are almost $6K into this motor! I would not even consider patronizing this company. Really, dont do it!
I own a repair shop in Houston on Westheimer. I have been buying from them for last 11 years since they opened in 2004. Never had a warranty problem. They have a spectacular 6 months unlimited miles warranty but last week was the real test when Honda Civic LX motor for 1997 overheated. Surprisingly they gave me another engine plus $100 rebate. This gave more confidence to keep on buying from them. I havent heard of an engine vendor sticking to his promise ever. They have an outstanding team. I make money installing their engines. Couldnt be happier!
I bought Toyota Camry engine from them in February 2016. They were very helpful. They tested the compression, leak down & oil pressure for me before I bought it. I feel 6 months warranty on the engine is a big relief !
Dont buy engines from this place. I stopped by the shop for a quote on an engine. I was disgusted by the conditions these engines are stored in. The guy at the shop said they test all the engines, and rebuild the ones with issues (good right? wrong) . I saw 2 techs rebuilding an engine right in the middle of the shop with all the dirt, oil, grease and even metal shavings in the area. You should be able to eat off of an engine building table. These engines wont last regardless of their condition. I have been to other facilities that sell JDM engines and this place looked like a scrap yard. I decided on JDM Engine Corp. in Dallas, which is a million times better than this place.
I bought a engine for my old Acura which my son uses now for his school commute they coordinated with my mechanic to find out the perfect rebuilt engine
I have bought engine for my Honda Accord from them very good Customer service
Dont buy from this company. they dont know what they are doing and dont honor there warranty. this company has a F rating on the BBB and negative reviews on just about every site you look on. The only positive review looks like they wrote it themselves. they have multiple websites for the same company ( thats a huge red flag). Do your research first. After having my engine replaced at a reputable shop (A+ from BBB/ no complaints) the shop returned the engine to have it fixed under warranty for a ticking noise and metal in the pan.The engine shop said there was a piece of metal which they cant identify that hit the piston, but somehow didnt even scratch any of the valves or the plug.and as far as the metal in the pan, they said that the pan wasnt cleaned and thats where the metal came from. aside from the fact that the pan was a new part from the dealer, it is physically not possible for anything in the oil system to find its way into the combustion chamber. So they charged the shop to repair the problem. its now been almost 2 months and the motor is installed and running, but now has low compression on the same cylinder that was making noise.so the repair shop diagnosed the problem as the machine shop over-shimmed the valves so tight that the tech. cant put a feeler gauge in it at all. After the tech readjusted the valves the engine is running great. So lesson learned. dont do business with this company,
Ordered engine online, had metal shavings in the engine and didnt want to refund our money. Had problems with the Saia trucking company where I had to personally supply rhe tie downs for them to pick it up. All in all a horrible experiance.
I have zero complaints with this company. I received what I ordered. I got it in the time frame we talked about. The price was right. I recommend this company to anyone looking for a JDM engine or a rebuild.
I was searching for used engine online for my Toyota Prius and I have got a rebuild engine from them. My car runs like a new one now.
Do not buy from this place, sent me out faulty engine 1310.00 down the drain + dealership labor cost
Worst customer service ever. Totally lied on internet postings and hung up phone when i asked for a price quote.
Their engines are tested and ready to install. They provide full assistance for the parts that you need to replace for used car if you are getting a rebuilt engine
I bought an engine for my Nissan 350 about a year ago and now it starting to go bad, please stay away from this people.
Ordered a Japan engine weeks ago LIED said it had been shipped took weeks to get it waiting on it I bet its a piece of crap. LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS.
Good honest people who knows Japanes car engines than others
Called him, 2 seconds into the call says he doesnt have what Im asking for before I even finish the question.
Deceptive business practices,no full refund for cancelled orders, forged my name on a document!
Most trustworthy place in Houston to buy engines !
I hardly get time to look after my car, I had the fix it but only time I get to do that is in the weekend so I searched online and requested a price quote they also received my call on Saturday
Do NOT buy Do NOY buy
