I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the FuelEd Family as they do the work to ensure that adults and students grow socially and emotionally into secure individuals who build caring communities. Thank you for making a difference! You are doing important work!!!

I had the fortune of stumbling into FuelEd by accident - and when I found out that this training was not just giving me strategies for my students, but focusing on building MY social-emotional competencies I nearly walked out. However, I decided to trust the process and have not looked back since. The skills and philosophy of FuelEd have helped me become not just a better educator but a better son, brother, husband, and friend. I appreciate the balance of science and practice that FuelEd trainings provide participants and have worked to put the ideas of attachment theory into practice in my school on a regular basis. I would highly recommend FuelEd to anyone who believes that building strong relationships in schools is critical to the future success of our students.

FuelEd s focus on the power of relationships is critical to student success. This is often an overlooked or assumed aspect of teacher training, which leads teachers not to prioritize a strong relationship with students. I am so thankful that FuelEd is in the national conversation to urge teachers to prioritize relationships, and also give clear strategies to implement. Rock on FuelEd!

Fort Bend ISD is piloting FuelEd at four of our campuses this school year. I attended the 3-day Leadership Institute, along with other district and campus leaders, and it was a phenomenal learning experience! We not only learned about ourselves and how to be a more effective relationship builder, the training provided experiential activities to deepen and engage in the learning. The campus staff have also found the 5 hour Empathy School training on their campuses to be very meaningful and helpful. FuelEd meets the very unique need of focusing on teacher support and building their relational capacity so they have the energy and skills to relate effectively with their kids - which is the ultimate goal!

What Ive accomplished in being an effective leader was not by mistake. FuelEd gave me the tools to understand the power of empathy and how it can empower others. The trainings are effective and the staff are always supportive.

It is very clear that no matter her amount of education, Megan Marcus has never taught in K - 12 public schools. Megan falsely bases her premise on that educators do not have or know how to show empathy. That we are the lowly, poorly, woe as us educators who lack empathy and have had incomplete training. Megan then tried to teach skills that most teachers/staff already have and use on a daily basis thus proving she has little to no understanding of the realities of what the daily life of an educator encompasses. Megan’s assumptions that teachers are not conscious of empathy and don’t know how to effectively use it is itself hurtful and insulting. Megan did not use any statements to clearly articulate that she herself empathized. It became obvious she did not understand where from her captive audience was coming and chose to redirect the conversation when asked more specific questions. Lastly, what she was asking teachers to do is get walked all over without boundaries. Megan did say we need boundaries but almost everything asked the educator to be ok with was letting someone walk on you. Please Megan fix some of this. Yes, empathy is important, but how it is being presented and some of what you would like to do is just too high of a personal cost. Please do some work where you are in the trenches when we are at our most busy to see what we do and the bad names we get called. Check out some of our more challenging schools. Spend time and get real with all of them so you know what secondary school is truly like. The ivory tower is always more pleasant but frequently doesn’t work in the real word.
