The good: The guy working the sales floor that helped me carry the computer case, the tech that took down the details on the computer build I wanted, and the cashier were all very nice. All easy to talk to and helpful. The bad: Do NOT go in there expecting to find a wide assortment of items. For whatever reason their inventory is low. Also the aisles are all mislabeled.

There is like 2 employees for a Walmart sized store. It is completely disorganized and very hard to locate things. I went looking for a ADF Scanner and there are only All in one printers. If you are an average tech user, this is not the place to go, disorganization and cheap brands will make you crazy. If you have little or no knowledge, avoid going this place.Seems that some time ago, this was a great store, now it looks like a thrift store.

Extremely disappointing to be honest. Took my son to see if this location was in the same condition as the others seen on YouTube. Sadly, this location is EXACTLY like the others. They have no inventory of ANYTHING!! They have nothing but old outdated technology. The home theater rooms are empty (no speakers). They only had 4 or 5 TVs in the tv area. There were no computers or monitors to speak of. The multimedia section had cases of water instead of media. The newest computer memory was DDR3. There were less than a dozen total appliances on the floor. The cell phone display was limited to 3 choices: iPhones 6s, Samsung S10, or a Jitterbug phone of some sort.I honestly felt bad for all of the employees. How embarrassing for the staff. Im not really sure how theyre still open as they have NOTHING of value to sell. If this is really happening at all of their locations, I dont know how the corporation is still in business and paying bills.

Frys has been my favorite electronics store for many years. I have built atleast 14 computers with components from there for my friends and family. Cameras, electronics, a 3D printer, countless electronic components, and many other things. However the state this store has fallen into is very disappointing. The shelves are empty. The employees dont care. There is a single hard-drive in the entire store. It feels more like a rummage sale than an actual store. I drove 45 minutes to be severely disappointed and leave empty handed. Im only giving them three stars because of the many times i DID find what i was looking for.

This particular store is just a sad ghost of the electronics mecca that it used to be. They have pulled the merchandise together into one half of the store and closed off the other. The selection is not what it used to be and if you are in the market for computer parts, forget it. The selection is pitiful.I ordered something online and the website said if I ordered by 7pm I could pick it up the same day. Well I did and just before 7 I got a notice it was ready and to come down and pick it up, which I did. I arrived around 7:20 and found the store closed. The signage said that the hours were 10am -10 pm. Some brave soul who cracked the door to address another customer and I said that the stores closes at 7pm now. Not his fault but how inconsiderate of the customer.

This was my 1st time ever being here. Its huge! Its like a Walmart except everything electronic, and even has appliances. The prices arent bad at all! I walked in and automatically wanted to buy things. Make sure you dont go in before you pay bills because Im sure you will walk out with like $5 left. Lol this is a great place for Christmas shopping, and if you have any money left from income tax. The TVs are amazing and most arent bad prices. Laptops are typically expensive. You get what you pay for, so I understand the prices on that. Theres an area where you can get parts to rebuild or change or upgrade your computer. Or build it yourself. I will be back!

Store opened during the week at 10am; a bit late in the day for me while Im running errands. There was one geek squad / tech guy in the fix it Department discussing computers; didnt know that you can still get Windows 10 online for free. Provided some incorrect info to the customer. I ended up getting some equipment for my computer at home; reasonably priced. Cashiers were friendly; however, didnt have someone in the returns department. Had to grab a cashier to walk all the way back down another area to complete a separate transaction. Oh yeah, they have a coffee bar, eating area; all off line. Unsure if this is due to the virus or not, but was a bit disappointed after I walked meandered to this area like a moth to the flame; only to find it abandoned. All-in-all, service was good; and great place to get computer parts if you know what youre looking for. Better than buying from online and getting the wrong thing, etc.

The 2 Sales associates seemed more occupied with assembling shells then helping customers. When I asked about the state of the store and lack of sales people I was told it was because of COVID and reduced sales. However there are over a dozen customers in the store at the time wandering and looking for help.I found somebody finally that was able to help me locate my laptop stand I needed, Frustrated by then with lack of help, in the higher prices at the store, I decided to take my business elsewhere

I wondered around for nearly thirty minutes trying to find something, anything. Not only did I leave out empty handed nobody even bothered to ask if I needed help looking for something. I left feeling a bit uneasy at the thought of all the people working and not one able to provide adequate customer service, like zombie workers in a corporate machine they trudged along minding their task at hand like it was the only thing in the world to do... Inventory is usually poorly stocked and picked over. Unfortunately they are one of the few places you can purchase small electronic parts (resistors, switches, etc.) in person. At Frys, most of the items are either out of stock or not in their correct location. It is very frustrating when you go there for some simple items that you would assume would be fairly common only to find that spot on the shelf empty. I am willing to pay a slight premium to acquire the items I need immediately versus ordering them online and waiting.I have gone back on numerous occasions looking for the same thing several months apart only to find they never restocked the item. They will also overstock a particular item and place the excess inventory on empty hooks adjacent to the correct location. These empty hooks are usually for the item you would be looking for. Now that there is inventory on these hooks (even though it is incorrect) they do not seem to reorder it because they see inventory hanging from the hook. They did have pleanty of cheap snowboards in stock though. Never know when you will need one of those during August in Houston!

Its bad enough they are closing, so the shelves are pretty much bare, but come on, how many people ask for board level components specifically by type, classification, and rating, then steal the 35¢ item. The end of Frys signals as much as Radio Shack did: The end of a company too obsessed with one part of their business, to pay attention to the rest of it. My last visit will like be just that, not because theyve closed, because I was made to feel that uncomfortable.

I’m a big fan of the Fallout franchise, and my trip to Frys really spoke to what we should expect in a post-nuclear world where small bands of renegades pose a menace to everyone else who is just trying to survive, and the living begin to envy the dead. My dad always said that if we weren’t careful, one day, the United States would start to look like Russia or North Korea, and after I walked the isolated wasteland of a store lined with empty shelves and skirted ceiling tiles that had fallen to violent deaths on the grimy floor below, I knew that day had come.

Bare aisles, outdated stock and poor customer service. That about sums up the last 2 years of Frys stores here in Houston. I’ve seen a few people mention Covid as the cause. And while it’s not helping their stores or anyone’s. The fact is Fry’s stopped stocking new merchandise last year. A quick google search “Fry’s going out of business” will return a number of articles from last year, pre pandemic. In which Fry’s publicity stated they’re not going out of business, but restructuring the way they sell & stock merchandise. If you ask them in store, they’ll tell you they’re focusing more on contractors or selling consignment merchandise. Apparently they want to sell large appliances on consignment now. In other words, they want to be middle men.So if you’re an average customer looking for TV’s, home audio, computer gear, laptops, cell phones, car audio or basically anything electronic. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time shopping here. Customer service was never good, but you could always find what you needed before. Now just barren shelf’s, outdated electronics or off name brands is about all you’ll find. That’s truly sad, as Frys used to be a great store.Best Buy’s probably the best all around for current electronics, Target & Walmart are good as well. Micro Center is great for all your custom build PC needs as well as electronic building components.
