I highly recommend Ramiro and AdvantaClean of Houston Northwest. I called them knowing my dryer vent needed a cleanout AND asked him to check the status of my airducts whilst here as my home is 12 years of age, and at the latest AC checkup, the tech recommended having them checked. Not only did Ramiro respond in a timely fashion, the technician performed the dryer vent cleaning quickly, providing before and after photos, AND Ramiro said my AC ducts were good for now. I have worked with many in this industry and the typical result is an upsell. He was honest and upfront that cleaning was not indicated at this time. This may be a strange review, but I think important. I called them because my A/C guy said there was something to get checked. I was honestly afraid they would come out and tell me all kinds of issues, real or imagined and give me a huge estimate. Ramiro came out saw the problem and said it was very minor and gave me an HONEST estimate. I would call them again any time and be sure I would be treated fairly.

I did not realize how hard it would be to find an honest air duct cleaning company. There are a lot of scammers/companies that use certain methods that are not necessarily safe or correct. We went through three other estimates before we found AdvantaClean. They all had very different recommendations and prices and I quickly realized that I would have to do some research to sort through the sales gimmicks and find a company that was honest and would do the job properly. I decided that I wanted a company that was certified through the National Air Duct Cleaners Association and I did not want any fogging chemicals used as the EPA has not approved any for use in this manner (aka no guarantee of safety). Also, wanted a company that would not push the ultraviolet light products on us, because there is a lot of controversy about whether they actually work and they are quite expensive. AdvantaClean was the only CERTIFIED company that used a natural/organic disinfectant (to kill mold, etc) and does not fog the ducts. Never once did they discuss an ultraviolet light in their quote (where as one company refused to do the cleaning unless we purchased an $800 product). Ramiro and his workers were very professional and thorough with their work. What was supposed to be 3 or so hours turned into 8 hours because we have so many vents and a small mold problem that required some new insulation. We were in the house the whole time and could see it was a lot of work. Ramiro (the owner) showed us pictures a long the way which was very helpful and was always there to answer any questions. Im the type that questions everything to make sure we arent being scammed or sold something unnecessarily and Ramiro was more than happy to show me evidence and answer anything I threw at him. LOL. Most importantly, I felt that I could trust his advice and recommendations. I highly recommend his services.
