I made an appointment online with Rafael for a beard trim and haircut. It noted on the website that all cuts were scissor cuts. Upon my early arrival, I was given a drink, which I appreciated. From the time I was introduced to Rafael, he seemed like cutting my hair was an inconvenience, though I was on time. I explained that if my hair was cut too short, that it would stick up, as I have a few cowlicks in the back. Low and behold, it was cut too short and was completely unable to lay down in the back. The beard cut was done with an electric razor and not scissor cut. When my neck was shaved, under my beard, Rafael just held my beard up onto my face, in my nose, etc. instead of clipping it up to keep it out of his way. And when I brushed and check the cut in the truck, it is uneven in spots. Upon checking out, I paid $85 for the haircut and went ahead and tipped because I feel bad for service workers during the pandemic, but it certainly wasnt deserved. I traditionally use Zayra with Wild Boars and the experience is comfortable, friendly and professional. The experience at Argyle was uncomfortable, Rafael didnt say more than three words to me the entire time and completely negated any direction I provided about my hair and the cut. I personally feel it was a waste of money and I will not be back. The haircut can be overlooked, as it is easy to go too short, but I would personally not recommend this barber for beard cuts.

My hubby found HIS place! Hes very particular with his hair and cut, and after trying multiple other barbers and even often went to Dallas to get it done, weve found a substitute here - perfect! Precise work, great price value (another trim is for free), nice service, modern retro style, HIP!Also nice service with drinks for the customers and their spouses. Love it!But this place is usually PACKED! Definitely call in for an appointment (no chance for walk-ins)!

I have been coming here a little over 3 years, and this place is amazing. The establishment is super clean, and the barbers are always dressed to perfection. This is one of the few barber shops I have been that is super clean. The staff here is amazing. The quality of work is off the charts. My barber in particular, Travis Lindsey, is the best I have ever had. He is fast and on point with his haircuts each and every time. Having grown an unruly COVID19 lock down beard it was time to give it some tender loving care.I booked an appointment for a head shave and beard trim/shaping with Roger who took good care of me. I like the way that they handle the guests; take your temperature as you walk in, ask you wait outside until its time, everyone wearing masks, and chairs and equipment scrubbed down after each guest. Very professional.Roger is decent bloke, you can either sit and chat with him as he works or just sit in silence; makes no difference to him. However, he does a great job either way and now Im booked on a monthly basis with Roger.

Top class barber shop, everyone has incredible talent and the service is top notch. The barbers are skilled and very passionate about their work and are very humble as well. Andy and Yancarlos do incredible work and I have been visiting for over a year almost once a week and plan on continuing as long as I am here. Overall, no barber experience matches this.

Ive been going to Argyle League for the last 4 years, and honestly, they really are the best barbershop in the city. It’s a has great atmosphere, fantastic service, and very experienced barbers.

It’s a very classy barber shop. The place is immaculately clean, you get the free drink upon arrival, everyone is friendly and professional (Alex at reception is particularly top notch and I have never encountered such a professional working barber shop reception anywhere else before. I usually have my hair cut by Andy; however, since COVID I now also patron David for convenience. Both are excellent barbers amongst the best I have ever had. The only down side is the price as I cannot imagine a more expensive barber in Houston. A free trim in between cuts used to mitigate the cost a little but again since COVID this was eliminated and really I hope that they bring this back soon. The other down side is you need to book appointments very far in advance at least a month and I usually do at least two to be on the safe side. Despite the cost and scheduling I still must give five stars as I would not consider going anywhere else. The haircuts are to good and the staff to professional to risk it.

Went for a haircut 2 weeks before my wedding. I grew my hair out for a year and half. I specifically told my barber that I wanted longer hair for my wedding. I showed him pictures with a person with longer hair. I emphasized the fact that I wanted the back of my hair to stay long. He took nearly an hour and the first thing he said was that he cut more than I asked for...it’s been 2 months since my haircut and I am still upset that I went here. My hair was about 5 inches on the back and cut he it down to under 1 inch. If you have longer hair. Do not come here.

I get my sons hair cut here often. These guys are extremely nice and professional. My sons barber is phenomenal. Hes very patient and gentle. My son is 6 and very active; its hard to get him to sit still. His barber is always able to engage with my son and get him to sit still when needed. His hair is always flawless when leaving. Best attention to detail you will get on a dapper mens haircut. Dont expect SuperCuts prices or a walk-in, but they aim to please and will take care of you. Never butchered my head in years, thats saying a lot these days. Enjoy a cold beer while you wait.

Ive been going here for quite some time now. The service is always great and they offer you your choice of whiskey, Coke, or water while you wait for your haircut. All the stylists here are amazing, but if you want the more popular ones you may have to reserve your spot up to a month in advance. I think that just goes to show how great this spot is that they have so many people wanting appointments. The price is a bit up there, $50 for a haircut, but it does include a trim and the haircut is way better than what youll get at a chain that still charges $25.

The guys here know what they are doing. Great staff and customer care. The bonus touch up trim included with each haircut is great if you dont want or feel like paying to get another haircut every month or so. Complimentary beer or bourbon is always a plus too. Just be sure to book well ahead of time as these guys are BUSY, and for good reason.

Amazing barbers. I highly recommend Dominic if you can manage to book him far in advance as hes always fully booked up. You get a good wash before and after the haircut thats included in the price and they give complimentary trim in addition to the beverages they offer you the moment you walk in. Ive been going to this shop alittle bit over 2 years (moved from Miami/New York) . Without a doubt this shop tops any I have ever visited. I’ve gotten my haircut by almost everyone by now, and im always surprised at how they can get it so perfect. Easy to give this place 5 stars it’s super classy.

I put off going here for a while just because it was hard to get an appointment. Finally went - now I see why you cant just walk in. From the second you walk in you feel like they care. Jeremy was my barber and I felt he was paying attention to every detail, he didnt just stop with what cut I wanted - he asked details about how I wanted MY cut to be. Even stepping back to look every so often. Worth every penny for the time and detail you get - and the free trim in between cuts. HIGHLY recommend Jeremy.

At 50-60 dollars, this the most Id be willing to pay for a hair cut but it is worth it. Exceptionally stylish place, with exceptional service. Adrian did a very good job, and was generally friendly. If I need a haircut in Houston again, Id go back there.

Very comfortable atmosphere. I can imagine if someone has a fear of haircuts, the complimentary alcohol offered at the entrance will help ease into the whole session. Other than that, its free booze. Also enjoy the products used there, discovered Kevin Murphy products for my hair. I love the citrusy smell it adds rather than the more chemical notes other products have.

Guys definitely know what they are doing. Beer on site? Yes please. Only pain is having to book several days prior to get an appt. But there’s a reason why you have to do that.

I really wanted to like this place, but the haircut I walked out with has to be one of the worst haircuts Ive ever gotten.It was my first time here, and I was assigned to Dominic. I clearly told him when I sat down in the chair that I wanted to trim the top, and told him about a quarter of an inch off the top. At the end of my haircut I look at my hair and he had cut it so short that I couldnt even make my hair. On top of that, the left side of my hair is clearly longer than the right side and the top isnt even even! Super choppy. He did a good job with the fade and beard, but completely butchered the top of my head. What makes me upset is that I clearly told him a quarter of an inch trim and he goes on to take almost an inch off. The worst part about all this is that I have a wedding to attend this weekend and Im going to have to go with a messed up haircut.For $70, I expected a lot better than this. I think my asian lady couldve done a better job for $8. Yeah the fade wouldnt have been as nice, but at least Ill be able to style my hair and not be walking around with choppy and uneven hair.Maybe I just got unlucky with the barber? But Im not willing to dish out another $70 to give them another shot.

This is a great place for boys and men with more simple hair cut needs and beard grooming that need a nice, comfortable straight razor clean-up. Clientele appears all male, as is the staff on the day I went. This is your perfect place if you have a relatively low maintenance cut, and are not doing anything sophisticated. For $40 considering its location, its par for the course.I personally did not have a good experience. I had an appointment and arrived on-time, but still had to sit and wait 25 minutes while watching 3-4 people get called to a chair as they walked in. Also my hair was way shorter than expected and looked nothing like the picture I showed him because my back was facing away from the mirror. But I grew to like the short hair and embraced the change, so lets call it a happy accident because I dont have a choice!

Perfect! A bit pricier than your normal barber shop but what you get in return in terms of customer service is well worth it. Supper attentive staff that actually take the time to get to know you and what you want, they spend 45 minutes on your hair every appointments and you get a 15 minutes complimentary trim in between appointments, and I forgot to mention a bourbon while you wait, whats not to like?!
