Good location, good barbers, just hard to set up an appointment. No one ever answers phone calls and if you use google appointments you dont get confirmations.

When asked what I wanted I asked for a low fade. Gabe went so high that now everything sticks up along the back and sides, and got a “my bad” in response for him making me look like a rooster for the next 2-3 months while everything grows back out

Tried getting a haircut and the barber had very poor taste. Didnt properly blend the back of my head. Also did not know english so communication was rough. During the shave he used a straight razor with barely any lather of the face and it was very painful. I am never coming here again.

This is my favorite place to get a haircut. Theyre always polite and their people are very talented. Ive tried different Barbers there and all of the hair cut professions care and have the experience to give you the perfect cut.

Not happy with my beard and mustache trim. Had Thomas and I asked for just a little taken off and he went all the way down, to where it even started to look patchy in some areas. I also asked for a different length on the side than everywhere else but he cut it all down at the same length. Not at all what I asked for. I recommend Charlotte in Friendswood location. Edit: getting home and noticed I have a cut on my side that is not a “pimple” cut. It’s a line from the razor, which I had to come home and finish myself because I had random hairs on my cheek/neck area. Do not recommend.

Place was very unsanitary. Broken and unsharpened equipment was used. Asked for refund and never received. Physical damage was done to me. I hope everyone stays away from this barber shop.

She is sweet and compassionate,caring soul and her warm heartedness towards him, even while he’s asleep in her chair goes a long way and why he keeps coming back to her loving ways at Lu’s. Look, he’s sporting a clean, fresh cut too!

Ive been going there for over a year and was very pleased with the service, but unfortunately their best hair stylist, Victor, is gone. Now their only good stylist is Mary, but shes only ok. Recently they raised their mens haircut price from $25 to $30 and now I dont think its worth it. Will be looking for a better place. The one thing that always bothered me about this place is that the front desk receptionist likes to ask you out loud if you wanna leave a tip and how much... who thats that?! When I first started going there, the receptionist they had would simply hand you the credit card machine and you would input the tip yourself, or choose not to leave any. But this new receptionist likes to embarrass the customers. Ive been dealing with it for a year! Well now they disappointed me enough to leave them the review they deserve.P.S.To owner: dont bother excuse your receptionist by telling me that you dont want customers touching the credit card machine dued to the virus... This has been going on for a year. If thats your excuse, theres something called disinfecting wipes. Also, I got a haircut with Mary at the end of June, 2020, so please, keep your response honest. Finally, when your receptionist asked me out loud how much tip I wanted to leave, I said I would input the tip amount myself, but she didnt let me and said she was going to input it herself. I said $3, which is all I could afford on top of your exuberant $30 haircut, but she didnt hear me, perhaps because I said it in a low voice trying to be discreet. So I had to repeat it again! I mean seriously? I think more customers get embarrassed about this, and just because they dont write a review about it, it doesnt mean its not happening. But after your response, Mr. owner, I can see where the problem comes from. Thanks for making it easy for me to stick to my original review.

Place is very clean, we were offered a beer when he arrived which is awesome! So far my boyfriends haircut look great (which he is very picky about). Our appointment was at 1:50 and we seen by 2pm.

Today did me in. On all levels, this is NOT a business I will return to. I had an appointment at 9am with Jesus, he comes in 15 minutes late with some terrible attitude and after I told him what I wanted, he said it was a special and it would be extra, even though I got the very same thing two weeks ago. He then yells over at the reception desk that he doesn’t want any more specials that day, and that put me off because then I felt like he didn’t want to cut my hair. Now that he’s upset he roughly digs into my head with the clippers, which he’s never done before, and doesn’t take the hair off my face until I asked him to because I couldn’t open my eyes. Once the haircut was done he moves to straight razor shaving, followed by slicing me open on the back of my neck, photo attached. They charged me extra for this “special haircut” because he said it is a haircut that takes 45 minutes to an hour and he finished this “special” in 20 minutes. After my wife saw my bloody neck, we called up there and asked to speak to a manager, Lu himself. He told us he would call within an hour and it’s been all day and no call. This is a sad, pathetic excuse for a barber shop. I won’t be returning and you shouldn’t try this trash shop if it’s the last thing you do. Poor service, poor management!!

This was my second visit in two months and Im not disappointed! The barbers are professional and personable. On my second visit I had to wait a short time due to the fact that they were short staffed but it didnt make a difference, well worth the short wait. I live about 25 minutes away and I dont mind making the drive because I know Im getting a quality cut. Lu cut my hair and he did an amazing job and his associate Geoff is lively and impressive as well. Thank you guys for taking care of me and look forward to my next cut. I wanted to get my beard trimmed so i drive to my usual barbershop and turns out they are now closed on Sundays. So google pulled this place up. I am not disappointed. My barber was Mike and he was awesome and very professional and knowledgeable on beard shaping and products. And like a good barber he kept good conversation. Im definitely changing barbershops. Plus i need to know what beard balm he used in my beard.

Got a haircut today from Jesus. He did a great job. He took his time and was very detail oriented. My fade came out great and the taper is on point. He was courteous and allowed me to inspect w hand mirror as he worked along. The edge-up and shave were good and done right. I have been getting my hair cut by my barber for more than four years now. She reminded me of the day on my last visit. I said, “I can’t believe it’s been that long.” She comes from an older generation of barbers, the kind of barbers you used to go see that gave you just as good advice as the hair cut you received. She’s also the kind of professional that if you want to close your eyes, sit back, and relax, you’ll come out looking better then when you came in. Very clean and professional. I never understood why women went to a beauty salon to have their hair and nails done but wow there is nothing like a hot towel, shave and a beard trim. Truly a very relaxing experience and i will definitely go again. If you go ask for Mike. He will treat your beard right.

Honestly, one of the most stressful things about moving is having to find a new barber/barbershop lol. Safe to say I struck gold my first time since moving to Houston two weeks ago. Clean shop. Beer and water offered before even sitting down. Jesus was excellent in giving me a proper skin fade. Ill be back!

Victor cuts my husbands hair and beard into perfection every visit. He leaves my husband looking very clean and sharp for the coming weeks till we see him again. Friendly desk staff is very knowledgeable about the products offered. They will definitely take great care of you and you trimming needs.

First let me start off by saying that Lus is the best barbershop I have ever been to. No matter what barber you see they each make you feel comfortable and they give you a great haircut at the same time. If you want to know who to see I would definitely recommend Rafael, he does an excellent job of getting a nice image of what you want and he fulfills it. Definitely coming back.

Went here for the first time yesterday. Got set up with victor to do a haircut and a beard trim. Now I am incredibly picky about who does my hair because I have a pretty prominent widows peak and I just can’t seem to find a hairstyle that fits me. So I decided to give victor free reign and clean me up nice. Dude did a fantastic job, and I don’t use fantastic lightly. If victor can recreate what he did to me next time then I am sold on the place.

Great experience. I met Victor this Sunday outside the barbershop and he recommended to bring my husband and kids, my husband experienced attention to detail and great customer service, he said he will be coming back to Victor who surpassed his current hairstylist work that he has had for the past 10 yrs. Everyone was nice, the lady in the front desk with glasses was able to accomodate the schedule by putting us in a cancellation list and were able to come in earlier. I recommend you try this place out if you haven’t.

Love this place! I get my haircut from Antonio and he really takes the time to make sure your hair is perfect. The hot shave around the edges is a awesome touch.Really neat old school style barbershop with a new school vibe. This is male pampering at its best.

Hands down best barbershop Ive ever been to ! From the first few warms towels on your face, then the feeling of the clean razor shave, then the finishing with cold towels applied for just the right amount of time until you come back to your senses from being in such a relaxation state of mind . Then you look in the mirror and its the cherry on the cupcake, literally every cut Ive have had here in the last year is PERFECT. Being a business man you always have to look presentable and I would hands down recommend this to any man that wants to feel and look good. My barber is Matt and hands down you will never be dissapointed EVER.

I’m use to going to a barber, asking for the cut ( taper, all round etc ) and them completing the full haircut from the line up and only asking if they should touch the beard no matter the time it takes ... here u have to ask for every lil thing ... u want a haircut they do the hair cut ONLY .. I have to mention you want a line up also and beard .. and only one person I see in there who takes the craft very serious he is always booked named Jesus ... never got him but come on they should be able to cut all types of hair right ?

Great haircuts but for second time Ive shown up with an appointment and made to wait 30 minutes because of scheduling issues on their end. While waiting other people walk in also with appointments and get placed with barbers. If you make an apointment you had better select a specific barber sitting around half an hour or more because they will actively prioritize people over you that have. Wont be coming back.

Don’t ever get your hair done by Jesus. He cut my husband and has the worst work ethic, showing up late and giving an attitude. Bad management, too - no one called us after our concerns were relayed to the receptionist as promised.

Took my dad here as a fathers day present. I got him the cut and shave combo. Everyone was nice. Great atmosphere, great customer service. Great experience. Ive had several professional shaves and I can tell you I will be back to try this out for myself!

Ive taken my teen son to Lus 3 times. The first two visits were great. On all visits, I got the $45.00 Combo which is a full service cut (wash, cut, hot towel + straight edge neck shave, and shoulder massage) and the hot towel shave. This full-service visit usually takes 45-60 minutes.Our third visit was pretty disappointing, however. They kept asking me Straight razor?, but Im not sure why they asked this since it is advertised as part of the combo package. The barber used the typical allotted time, but was clearly just dawdling and watching a baseball game. I noticed he didnt provide the massage but thought my son wouldnt mind missing that so much.However, when we went to check out, they charged me the full Combo price. I pointed out that they had not washed my sons hair. The barber took my son back to the station and gave my son a very minimalist, cursory hair washing but didnt even bother to comb his hair.We left a barber shop with wet, uncombed hair! So weird.I tipped them anyway ($6.00) but dont feel like it was deserved, nor do I fell like I got the service for which I paid. They werent very busy and it was not close to closing time. Im not sure why we got such poor service. I dont feel like I want to return here if I have to watch them to make sure I get the services I pay for.

This is a great barber shop never been to anything like it sports clips and those other typical hair salons do not come close to compare. All the barbers are great at what they do and look and feel confident while doing it, they make me feel at home as soon as I walk in the front door and as late as I leave, I recommend this barbershop to any one that needs a nice cut or shave, they do great with all types of hair from fades to siccsor cuts and everything in between Im more than satisfied with the job done every time. I will be going back often.

Its my go to barber shop. They do an excellent job cutting hair, play sports & news on the flat screens around the shop, and even have beer on tap you can drink while you wait.Call and make a reservation, it can get a bit busy and, being a walk in, you might have to wait a while.

I just moved to the Houston area recently. I made the mistake of going to one of those chain salons. I searched online and read the reviews for Lus and thought Id give them a try. Im glad I did. Last time I went to a real barbershop was when I was a kid with my grandfather. Ive been going to SportsClips for years now and I was recommended this place by a friend. Ive tried Roosters before but $30/$35 for a high & tight and no pampering wasnt worth it when I got that in the Marines for $6. This place definitely gets my approval! Perfect cut with a reasonable price, great service, nice people, and options on the TV...what more could you ask for? Even offered a complementary drink. This will be my new spot. Also as other had said, kudos to Rafael.

I thought this place went beyond in having a great craft, But my husband came home looking like he had gone to sports clips. Some lesly haircutter made my husband look like a mess. By giving him a 10 minute haircut and not even shaving the back of his neck and lines all over the place. I will never recommend this barbershop to any of my friends and this place needs a more serious manager when coming to hire professional employees who take pride in a craft. Very disappointed. Very sad. Worst haircut I have ever seen. Do not come to this place if you need a great haircut, there are better quality places out there than this one.

I check in and sit down and finally after ~50 minutes later I get called over.Didnt have time to get the hair washed (which of course you still end up paying for). And when I asked the front desk person how to avoid a mix up like this in the future they just said sometimes it takes a long time to cut hair. Cool aesthetic, barbers are very skilled and do a great job, the even have beer on a freaking tap for a great haircut experience. The TVs may be a bit distracting, but really thats a non-issue. Even as a walk in they did a great job.

I decided to visit later and it took about 20 minutes of me being seated for the receptionist to figure out that the barbers were booked until 2:30. I would not recommend this place for their disorganized operations and lack of consideration for a customers time.

Im talking full blown welfare, terrorism, education system, all of it. I just sat there nodding my head saying.. yeah... mhmmm.... never disagreeing so he just continued on and on and on. Now I know we dont all have to have the same beliefs but why would I put myself through this again when I can go somewhere else, sip a beer and relax. If I could give it no stars I would ...My first time going there and I was told to be there by three for my haircut I did not get seen until 3:26 only to get told that the haircut I requested which was a three with a taper she couldnt do even though I told the gentlemen at the front desk what haircut I wanted and still paired me with the only person that couldnt cut my hair. So now my only option was to wait another 40 minutes so I could cut my hair needless to say I will never be coming back here nobody gave any apology or showed any remorse.

Had a bad experience here today when a barber (really wish I could remember his name) complained about working with my soon-to-be stepson who is almost two years old. After a minute, he started demanding that we be moved to another barber and said he had a headache and didnt want to wrestle some screaming kid. He said hed cut my hair, but after how he treated us... just no.Anyway, we ended up with Leo, who was patient and awesome! Everyone else in the place came by and apologized for how the first guy behaved and they ended up giving me a discount on our haircuts. Ive been here before and loved it, but after our experience today, I dont want to go back.Big thanks to Leo and the rest of the staff for salvaging what started out as a miserable experience, though.

I have been going to Lus for over a year as they are the best haircut I have found. Unfortunately, the reception / management and lack of consideration or respect for their customers will force me to find another barber.I called to see what availability was and was informed that there was an opening and if could get there in 15 mins it would be mine. As I live close I said it would not a problem and I would be there in 7 mins. I actually arrived in five minutes, said hello to the receptionist and told her I was the one she just spoke with in the phone about an opening. She then told me that she filled the opening with someone else and that she could check availability for another day...I have put up with long wait times despite an appointment for a while now. Example: I have an 11:00 appointment, arrive 10 mins early, and then wait until 11:50 to get my haircut.I arrive for my appointment on time and wait for 30 minutes for my barber to finish cutting another barber / employees hair while both are on shift. (They both took clients while I was there)The poor operations and lack of consideration and respect for their customers will cause me to find a barber elsewhere.

Terrible Service. You dont get what you pay for. I came with a friend of mine today to get us both some fades. Paid for the Gentleman Deluxe. The first Hispanic young barber started telling my friend he didnt have time to do the deluxe and started bitching to the front host guy that he aint gonna be there all night in front of us......then the second barber...another young Hispanic guy didnt even give us what we paid for!! Didnt wash and shampoo our hair, didnt give us the shoulder massage and gave us dirty stained towels for the hot towel treatment. We are not coming back here.
