I have been getting my hair cut here for years and have yet to ever receive a bad haircut from any of the barbers. You wont find a better barbershop for bang for your buck, and the fact that it is a local business is even better. Very laid back environment with tons of cool memorabilia showcasing the storied history the barbershop has been around for. Cant recommend enough!

The basic haircut is $21 and quick! We havent had to make an appointment as walk ins are welcome and the wait isnt bad. A lot of old and eclectic decor to look at and keep you intrigued and entertained. Also, I love love love the diversity appeal. Thank you!

I’ve been to Doug’s a few times now and I’m consistently impressed by the quality and value. This isn’t a big box chain - you’re supporting a local business, certified barbers, and it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. They take cash and credit card. It’s first-come-first-served (walk-ins only).

Great barber shop! I had a great experience. It was simple. I was able to get exact what I wanted.WARNING: If you have a young child, especially toddler, call ahead of time to make sure there is a barber there that is willing to cut their hair. Also, if your child is so small that they will probably not sit by themselves, mention that as well. The barber available may cut kids hair but only if they sit by themselves.

Dougs is a good, old-school barber shop and a Houston Heights institution. Jeff (the owner) usually cuts my hair, but Ill take whatever chair opens up first because all the barbers there know what theyre doing. In case it matters, I typically get my hair cut high and tight (I believe thats the correct term), with a zero on the sides and faded in higher up.

Received a really choppy haircut from the owner once I inspected in better light. When I went to let him know he offered to fix it but I declined and let him know for next time. I told him calmly and quietly to not embarrass him but he took offense. He then said life happens. Terrible way to treat a new customer. The other barbers seemed talented and I shouldve taken the empty seat with the long line as a warning. Never coming back.

I was down in houston for the summer doing some work. I tryed this place just by the vibe I got from the pics online. This place is amazing. Sam was the gentleman who cut my hair. He gave me the best haircut I ever had. Skin fade pompadour. He takes his time, and doesnt rush. If I was still in town he would be the only one cutting my hair. I went in a Sunday. I git v there around 9-930... usually a 5-15 min wait. And its worth waiting longer if you need to. This place has been around for years and has loyal customers.

I always get an excellent cut here for a very fair price at $16. Each barber is very skilled, takes his time and are perfectionists. Because they take so much time on each hair cut (20-30 minutes), you may have to wait awhile if there is a crowd. But thats no issue because its a very mellow atmosphere with plenty of magazines, free wifi, and a TV.

Price jumped to $16. I would suggest not going after 4 or they will give you a lower quality cut just to get you out of there. Also, always double check your cut. The guy that cut my hair (not Doug) had no problem sending me out the door with uneven side burns and hair still on my neck.

I can only speak for the barber that gave me my haircut, the young guy with the beard. Haphazardly cutting out chunks at random, I had to continually ask him politely to please even out or blend in areas. Paid and drove off, and as my hair dried, I soon realized that the cut was absolutely butchered. Random lengths all of liver the place, no sense of evenness. Had to go to a SuperCuts down the street to have it fixed. The barber there was horrified, and showed me in the mirror a huge rash on the back of my neck at the hairline where I had been gashed at Dougs. Have never had a haircut bad enough to need fixing my entire life, Im not picky, so easily the worst cut Ive ever had.

I stopped at Dougs Barber Shop on Thursday, August 22. There were two barbers cutting hair, and four customers ahead of me. When I finally got into one of the barber chairs, I explained how I wanted my hair cut, and that I wanted a shave. The barber who was going to cut my hair said that he did not do shaves. When I asked the other barber if he did shaves, he told me he was too busy to do a shave. That I waited for more than an hour for a service posted on the shops price board meant nothing to those two barbers. One barber could not do a shave, and the other barber basically said that other customers time was more important than mine. Dougs Barber Shop made it clearthat they do not need my business.

After looking for a never shop in Houston for 3 years, I decided to drive from Pearland to the Heights to give Dougs a look. I let Quentin cut my hair despite having read some bad reviews on the guy. The responses to those reviews assured that Q must have had an off day. As I left the shop with my hair un-styled it looked ok. However, this morning as I began to style my hair, I realized the hair on the right half of my head was longer than the hair on the.left half. I was hoping I had found a new barber shop, but if this is the product that is put out, I will not be returning.
