Had been here 2 times before. Set up my apt online multiple days in advance and was ready to get my haircut. Was running behind day of and called to let them know. Walked in 15 minutes after my scheduled time (spent 5 minutes circling the parking lot where there were no spots and ended up having to park across the street and walk). When I checked in I was told they had cancelled my appointment. When I asked “what had happed?” and shared that “I had called ahead to let them know I was running late no one had shared that would be an issue” I was responded to with “we can reschedule you for tomorrow.” For what this place cost and the way they present themselves as a customer service brand, I expect more.

Ive been to this location a couple of times and have had good experiences. But not this time. I needed a haircut ASAP and I appreciated that they were able to accommodate me at the last minute. When I met my stylist, she didnt greet me, was unfriendly, and I felt quite uncomfortable. She was disinterested in what she was doing. Her customer service was as bad as the haircut. It was not what I asked for and still uncut in some areas. I didnt provide feedback at the time because I did not want her touching my hair anymore. This was a waste of $55 and now I will have to spend more money to fix my hair. Not sure if I will be returning to this location.

Got the express cut but didn’t get any of the treatment. I didn’t get my hair wash, neck shaved or even styled at the end of the appointment, i left with wet un styled hair. All i got was just a cut and charged $45 without any service. On top of that i was not giving a re-fund even though i was charged for the experience i didn’t even get. Worst salon experience

They have nice amenities but lack consistent quality and professionalism for the price.Full review:I have been going to the Boardroom Salon for Men for a three or four months now since moving to Houston. I was excited to find this place because I have been a regular customer at similar salons. I enjoy the experience of places like these with their accommodations (complimentary drinks, nice seating, and services beyond just the actually haircut).I really wanted to like this salon, but they have missed the mark. For the price of just a cut, at $45 pre-tip, one would expect professionalism, good amenities, and, of course, a good haircut. I do give them credit to their amenities because it is a nice place. There is much to be improved upon on the other scores, however.I called ahead to let them know I was going to be 10 minutes late because it was raining. The lady said that would be perfectly fine. I arrived in 12 minutes and was told that I had to reschedule because it was “closer to 15 minutes late”. I think that policy would have been nice to know before I drove all the way there. I ordinarily wouldn’t care about such a thing but customers pay a premium for these services so a little room by way of customer service is expected.From a quality standpoint, they do alright. I’d say the median quality of cut I have received is pretty good but not great. They seem to have a high turnover in stylists in just the few months I have been there, but that may just be 2020. I’d say you will get about the same cut as at a Supercuts or Great Clips, so I’m not sure the quality justify the price, especially because of the lack of customer service.

Went to get my haircut here that was way past due thanks to Covid. I recently moved to the area so was looking for a place that a little nicer than say club cuts but bot too fancy and this place hit the spot for me. They did a great job and it was exactly what I wanted. I appreciated a few suggestions that they had along the way and since it was my first time they offered me additional services complimentary which was so nice. I really like this place and if you are a guy looking for a little nicer haircut and the ability to enjoy a beer before this is the place for you!

Im usually pretty happy with my haircut coming out of this place, but I can say that for most barbershops that charge half (or less than half) of the price they charge here. If youre willing to seriously treat yourself and cough up the ~$60 plus tip, the benchmark haircut and forearm massage is worth it...but definitely not regularly. Would recommend as like a birthday gift or similar thing for a friend/family member.

Ive been going to this boardroom for years and have never had a bad cut. Most of the stylists are very professional and friendly. I dont get haircuts too often and I find the $40 benchmark is a great value.

I have been to many Barber shops and Men salons and they could not compare to this one. My stylist, Gloria, did an amazing job and it was probably one of the best experiences in my life. The benchmark is 100% worth the price with the quality you receive. Will definitely be coming back to see her again.

I used to be the guy who went to a different, cheap place each time I got a haircut. Id pay $13 and leave with a different haircut each time, some much worse than others.Its all different now with the Boardroom! Ive been a member at the Boardroom now for almost two years, and specifically at this location, Gloria has been my go-to. 5 stars from me for the service and also for Gloria. The girls at the front desk are also really friendly.

Ive had a membership for over 2 years and Ive been all-in on this place because my experiences over the time have been great. Recently, I booked an appt last-minute so I couldnt choose a known hair-dresser that was available (their on-line auto-chooses someone)I got there and the person cutting my hair didnt know at ALL what to do with my hair. I have medium long hair and all I wanted was a short trim because Im trying to grow my hair longer. The hair dresser kept spraying me with the water bottle, combing my hair, and after minutes of repeating the same thing, would cut a tiny bit. This went on for about 15 minutes. They went from trying trim up my neck with the trimmer to keep spraying me with water and combing the top of my head. I finally told them that this is weird and they Brought someone else out to help and he started cutting my hair properly.Ive had great experiences this entire time until that moment. We pay a premium to go to this place. I finally asked if they were new to this and they said yet. WTF?????? Im not here for you to practice on. Literally...they had no clue how to cut hair....and finally fessed up that they only know how to fade.I am big on referring as I have a huge referral network. How can I tell my friends to come here with the small possibility that there may be a newbie that doesnt know what they are doing to practice on them. Totally disappointed and not sure if I want to renew my membership.

Have been coming to Boardroom for about a year now and cant recommend highly enough. Gloria M. does outstanding work...shes terrific! I used to go to other chain places and would always dread going and put it off for 2-3 weeks past when I should have gone. With the Boardroom membership and experience, I look forward to going and get cuts about every 2-3 weeks which is perfect.

An outstanding experience overall! Stanley is a consummate professional through and through! He is meticulous in the level of detail he provides which leaves me being a VERY satisfied customer. The booking process is smooth and user friendly (using the Boardroom iPhone app). The front desk ladies always offer me a beverage along with a complimentary koozie (nice touch!). I will most certainly be coming back in the future!

Good place. Nice service, friendly staff. Free soda or beer on each visit. I recommend Theresa. She’s been my stylist for years! I recommend making an appointment online or by using their app. The membership is a good deal if you plan to visit at least every two weeks.

Its a great place that Ive had a membership to for 2 years now, but employee/stylist turnover is crazy bad... Dont expect to have the same stylist for more than a few months, but still a good atmosphere.

Great place to get a haircut first time in there and was greeted friendly and got tour of the place even Esmeralda gave great cut and relaxing my hands and head after long day at work. The only thing is the price is little too high but was well worth it for $75 haircut shave and head message with hand clean up. Will come back again for the free cut they will give you for new customers.

This is one of the premier places to get a hair cut in the city of Houston. The staff is very organized and on point, not to mention extremely friendly. The quality of haircut here is unmatched by any male salon I’ve been to and that’s been quite a few. The stylist that cuts my hair not only is she extremely skilled at her craft but is such a genuine person and you can tell she truly cares about her clients. Karina Marquez is her name and I would highly recommend you go see her if you’re looking for the haircut of a lifetime.

Today was my first time visiting the Boardroom, the facility was very well decorated and the staff was very nice. Upon my arrival I was offered a beverage while waiting for my barber. Was taken back to a private room for my headshave, my barber was very nice and walked my though the entire process since it was my first time getting a straight razor shave. The 2 star rating comes in is I have always been told a straight razor shave is the closest you can get. Once I got home after running my hand across my head I could feel stubble (like 1/2-1day stubble) and had to go over my head with my own safety razor to get a closer shave. I came to the boardroom for a straight Saxon shave to treat myself, but if this is what I can expect from future visits Ill save my money and get a closer shave with my own razor at home.

Charged $80 to buzz my head and line up my beard. I then had to go home and fix the cut myself as it was terribly lined up. Would not recommend.

It was my first time at this salon. I made a reservation in advance and arrived on time. The appointment was scheduled for 30 mins, but didn’t start until 7 mins into the allocated time. The stylist that cut my hair seemed inexperienced and uncoordinated. I had to ask for improvements of my hair 3 times, and the response I received was that we were running out of time. With such a steep price, I would at least expect a decent haircut and like to walk out of the place liking what I see in the mirror. The cut was rushed, uneven, und unprofessional. I do not recommend this place.

Im new to Houston, and I was nervous to be leaving the hair stylist Ive been seeing for over seven years. After doing some looking online, I decided to visit Boardroom, and made an Express appointment with Genevieve.Youll notice that shes mentioned a few times in reviews on various websites, and rightfully so--shes a GREAT stylist. I took with me several photos of what I was hoping to accomplish with my hair, since I had never worked with her before. She talked to me about what sort of cut the style required, how it would look with my hair, and changes she could make to better suit me. Throughout the entire appointment she was friendly and talkative; there were no awkward moments.All in all, it was a fantastic experience, and Im very happy with the haircut I got. Ill definitely be coming back!

Nice place, they offered me a brew right when I came in and they got straight to work. They pampered me and I enjoyed it. I will be going back.

I had been needing a haircut for weeks and they happened to be convenient. What a mistake! Although my stylist was nice, upon getting home I realized that I had one of the worst haircut ever. The place is also dark and not kept extremely neat. There is pool table in the middle, that no one uses and it was full of dust under it. Makes you wonder what else they missed? Probably wouldnt say anything if it was a $12 haircut, but $50?

This is NOT a barbershop. $50 for my boyfriend to get his hair cut here, and they managed to give him three very different lengths of a very simple cut. It was uneven enough that he waited a couple months to let it grow back out before getting a haircut somewhere else. Thank goodness for ballcaps. That stylist had no idea what she was doing.
