Ive never had to use melange for any kind of catering services but I do there I t work for them and I frequent than their lunches when Im there I can verify that they make fantastic food

Melange catered our wedding, and they were fantastic. The staff was organized, timely, and professional throughout the cocktail hour and reception. The food was delicious - our vegan, vegetarian, omnivorous, and carnivorous guests equally loved the buffet options and could not stop raving that “this is the best wedding food we’ve ever had!”

Upon booking, you already have a ton of restrictions. but basically it boils down to service. The wait staff does not speak English, so communicating needs was difficult. Everyone basically just stopped asking for anything. The bartenders were preoccupied on their phones for most of the evening, and barely acknowledged customers. They even ran out of 2/3rds of their spirits halfway through the evening; didnt bother to replenish. Food was subpar, microwaved. And to top it off, explaining dissatisfaction to the managers/owners fell on deaf ears; they are the rudest people! They even TOLD me I should have gone with someone else! They would not discount or refund any amount paid for their *cough* services. I would highly recommend you go with another company for your event.

I used Melange to cater an event I hosted this past weekend. I had attended two previous events they had catered and loved the food. I was also impressed by the staff. I really cant say enough about how wonderful they were to work with. For most people the quality of the food would probably be most important. While the food was excellent (my guests were raving all night!), for me it was the amazing service I received. They couldnt do enough for me. This was the case with each person I dealt with. My event planner at Melange was Mary Margaret. Wow!! She understood exactly how I wanted everything to go. Our Event Director on sight was Richard. He offered to take pictures all night, joked with our guests and was just an all around great guy! He was on top of everything. When he saw me look at him (sometimes from across the room) Id see his eyes dart around the room correctly perceiving what I wanted done. He was truly amazing! The wait staff was also great. Plates and glasses disappeared from the tables the minute they were empty. The beautiful buffet was stocked full all evening. Did not run out of anything. The room was kept clean at all times. I will say that I spent some time with each person I was to work with before the event to discuss exactly what I expected and they did not disappoint.It was a birthday so a large cake was sliced and a piece taken to each person in the room (instead of people having to go to the cake table to get a piece. We all know many people would not). People were all over the room, yet no one was missed. Speaking of the cake, many people said it was the best Italian Cream cake theyd ever eaten!And with all this, they stayed well within my budget.My guests were asking me who the caterer was all night long. Im still receiving texts about what a great party it was.Kudos to you Greg Bess!! Youre the only caterer in Houston Ill ever use!
