Shane realy took the time to educate me on the problem he fixed. I really appreciate that he waited for me nearly an hour to make it home that shows me how the company understands peolples different situations and not just collecting the money. I would really recommend giving them a call if you need your a/c repaired and look at their preventative maintenance program like Shane encouraged me to do with by showing me how low maintenance charges will save hundreds in the long run. Call them first you wont regret. Fast and honest

Comfort Star is an excellent company. I called my Warranty Company about my air-conditioning not working and they assigned Comfort Star who scheduled me for the same day. The receptionist that i talked to on the phone was very professional and courteous, and scheduled me for the same day based on my availability. I received a courtesy call 45 mins prior to the technician arrival to let me know that he is on his way. The technicians name was Shane who arrived at my place on exact scheduled time. He was was extremely friendly, professional, honest, courteous, and knowledgeable. He explained and showed everything to me, and replaced the capacitor. The air-conditioning was back running and cooling perfectly within a few minutes. I strongly recommend them!

AC stopped cooling yesterday and were having a record hot day. Called our Home Warranty company (OneGuard) this morning, and requested service. Initially the first service contractor (RLC Services) was provided our info with a service request - confirmation number. After several hours without any call from the contractor, I attempted to reach out to them directly. After waiting on hold for 27 minutes, a representative finally came on the line. I gave them our info and inquired about scheduling, to which they put me on hold for a while longer and then replied that they hadnt scheduled it yet, but that it would be Friday at the earliest...today is Tuesday,... and the outside temperature is 98° F with a feels like temperature of 106°! UNACCEPTABLESo I called our Home Warranty company (OneGuard) and explained the situation. This is when the nice representative did some research and found Comfort Star. She said that Comfort Star was available to come to diagnose our problem this afternoon!Within minutes of that call we received a call from Elida, from Comfort Star, giving us an approximate time that a technician could be here. Elida also called again to let me know when the technician was 45 minutes from arriving.Shane Martin, the technician, arrived a few minutes early in an easy to identify repair vehicle, he was wearing a company uniform and a mask. He was very nice, professional and QUICK. He was able to identify and resolve within minutes! His truck was loaded with new parts and he called Lennox to verify the proper part numbers before replacing them (capacitors were bad).In my opinion, he went above and beyond by taking many pictures of our system and alerting me of all other issues that could potentially become a problem in the future. He gave me very good advice and told me about their service maintenance options as well.I very rarely write any reviews, but I am so relieved to have gotten Shane from Comfort Star for this service request! Called in Thursday evening after one of my HVAC compressors failed. I talked to a very professional, nice and responsive lady who booked for a technician to come the next day in the morning.Shane arrived on time, was careful with my home: mask at all times and shoe protectors. He was also very knowledgeable with lots of experience and he openly shared all he did to troubleshoot my compressor. He did not rush and I agreed with his diagnostics. Price was not cheap - but not outrageously expensive either. Most importantly I felt I was not being “conned”. Also, he advised I add a startup kit - I found it a very good recommendation after I researched online. He did not push to do it himself. I was so pleased that I agreed to a one year service agreement. I will update my reviews as I go along.

Comfort was able to come the next day. We seem to have a leak in our AC refrigerant system, and unfortunately the level was so low that the guy wasnt able to detect the source of the leak. At least with a refrigerant refill the system is cooling again and hopefully we will be able to find the source of the leak soon to fix it once and for all.Overall the guy was very professional and responsive.

The technician (Shane) came out and diagnosed and fixed my AC this morning. He knew his stuff and gave me the option to replace an extra part that had worn out. I asked him for “brother in law” advice. Have used Comfort Star for many years and can’t recommend them high enough. Their owner Habib has been great to work with and very fair. I am on their maintenance program and get my two AC units and heaters checked twice a year. I believe that is keeping me from having to replace them. AC unit now making cool air for us. I had 2 complete systems replaced (AC & heating), and Comfort Star did a great job. Their pricing was competitive, it was very easy working with Habib and the team, they installed with great quality (not to mention including a 2 year labor warranty as backup), and they actually were able to get the equipment, due to their planning and foresight when at least one other contractor was unable to do the job due to material shortages. I had a slightly different system in mind, but am happy I walked through it with Habib, as I used his recommended changes, but also dont feel like I was sold on anything. They nearly got both systems done in 1 day, but had to come back the next day. I was happy that they did not rush the job and took the time to do it right. Habib also personally helped work with the inspector to get everything finalized. Really a great company to work with, and I will use them in the future for any HVAC work.

Comfort Star is a quality Air Conditioning company who does an outstanding job. I requested them for a consult on a replacement condenser unit because they had been so fair, flexible and professional with a neighbor that was out of country and needed his AC repaired after the compressor went out in his upstairs unit. In addition, a tech that had worked for them a few yrs ago had repaired my downstairs condenser after 3 techs failed to diagnose the problem appropriately [I had a home warranty]. Shane explained the issue with my new unit and what needed to be repaired, along with my options for types of AC units. After choosing a two stage unit, they installed it in one day and cleared out an attic area that had been a mess (old units placed too close together, poorly constructed ductwork, venting that was not even close to code, etc). The techs were very knowledgable (60+ yrs experience in AC between the 3 of them). Habib agreed to generous discounts and the price for the install was very fair, and he tacked on a 2 yr service agreement. Please consider hiring them for your major AC repair/ install. I cannot recommend this company enough. My ac unit broke *yesterday*. They sent a technician early this afternoon and after he diagnosed the problem, arranged for a new unit to be installed *today*. With the coming hurricane and, of course, being summer in Texas, I am certain I am not the only person with ac problems.Every person I interacted with was extremely friendly and understanding. The technician, the office admin, and the installers were wonderful. I’m not sure if they had to rearrange any appointments to accommodate me, but it certainly felt like it and made me feel like I was very important to them. Now I can shelter-in-place in comfort. I was having problems with one of my air conditioning units, and I was referred to Comfort Star Emergency AC Repair. They went way above the call of duty. They were very responsive and honest. The technician and the office staff were very professional, concerned and upfront. The technician, was upfront and told me that he replaced a part, but that the unit was over 30 years old, and would probably need replacing soon. Over the next couple of weeks, the Office Manager even called to check on us. We did end up having to replace the furnace. The price was fair, the technician and crew did an excellent job, and they even helped me get financing.

I own a business so I know the level of standard I hold my own employees and technicians. I sent a request to Comfort Star on their website outlining the issue and they responded within a few hours and said they could have someone out the same day. I wasnt available same day so I scheduled the following late afternoon. Dispatch called me back and let me know that the tech could be there early afternoon if needed - this worked out perfect and he was right on time. The technician (Bert), was one of the most professional and knowledgeable technicians (at any company I have dealt with). In addition to diagnosing and correcting the issue, he gave me a great introduction to Comfort Star and outlined all of the services offered and their capabilities ... never seemed salesy or like he was trying to push anything, just 100% professional technical company representation. We had a One Guard Warranty and our AC went out. The Warranty company sent out Comfort Star AC and a repairman named Bert. Bert introduced himself and his company and then intently listened to our issue. He quickly and efficiently detected that we needed a new capacitor. He retrieved one from his truck and replaced the old with the new, tested the system and it was working again. He then asked to go into our attic to make sure we were ok there as well. All good! I would definitely recommend Comfort Star if you are in need of AC repair. Bert was kind knowledgeable, efficient, made sure his work area was clean and extremely kind and polite. This company is in cahoots with the warranty company, they want to collect the fee and send misinformation to One Guard saying the it was very dirty which I know is a lie I change my filters regularly sure would have like to see a picture of the wheel its just one big scam, its sad with the way the economy is there are still people that use people because the can, I call another guy who is an expert said it was not dirty but wore out over time,I get my air services once a year. I could not be more pleased with the level of service we received from Comfort Star. We had two issues: Our downstairs unit was making an awful noise and not cooling well, and our upstairs unit was leaking water (a LOT!) through the drain pipe (another serviceman from a different company told us, “Oh, that’s normal.”).Burt serviced our a/c’s and was early to arrive (Comfort Star called to let me know he was on his way), thoroughly explained what the issue was and how he was going to fix it, and was both courteous and pleasant. My A/C unit was not cooling properly. A/C remained on all the time. The technician came, heard my description of the problem and diagnosed the problem. He explained that the air leaking from the fan coil, coupled to a lack of refrigerant were the causes. He provided a detailed breakdown of the repair cost, and showed me the pressure and temperature measurements. After doing the work he showed me the values. The work was done right the first time. No pushy sales pitch to buy this or that. The technician arrived on time, was courteous and knowledgeable. The cost of the services, refrigerant and materials was fair.

We were very pleased with the service from Comfort Star in response to a condensate leak from our AC unit. Habib, the owner, gave us reassuring advice over the phone and recognizing the urgency, we got an early service appointment. Comfort Star is by far the best company we have had to work with our AC and Heating units. We encountered them through our home warranty company but would use them regardless of this. Everyone at Comfort Star is friendly... from the office staff that create appointments and alert you when the technician is coming to the technicians and managers. We had a HUGE job completed with our Duct work this summer, where it was all replaced... I felt like the technicians cared about doing a good job, they all have pride in their work and really make me feel comfortable with my decision to use thier services. I most recently had a technician come to fix my heater (we’ve had a similar problem each fall where the heater just won’t come on). Most companies just come and jiggle the switch and it turns on...literally that has happened to me 3 years in a row. This year I asked my warranty company to send Comfort Star only ... today we found out WHY it hasn’t been coming on right away each year... our technician spent over half an hour in our attic figuring out what was really wrong and actually FIXED the issue. I would recommend Comfort Star without reservation to anyone needing repairs or new systems. They care. They do incredible and thorough work. This company works with home warranty companies and not in it for the consumer. Ladies in the office are rude and very unprofessional. I was told that someone would be at my house between 2 - 6. No one showed up as I had to work from home while waiting on them. I now have to spend the weekend in a hot Houston home because of the misdiagnosis of their technician. If you read reviews yes they came out fast but absolutely did not and was a waste. My wife took the day off and I worked from home with no resolution. Do your research. We called a local company and they saved the day. We had a faulty motor in one of the units and an hour later back in business. Do your homework so that you do not waste time and money.

Great service at a great price! The owner was very responsive to my request for a quote to repair/replace the coil in the evaporator unit at my house. He showed up the same day to inspect and did his best to schedule the repair for the next day which is pretty impressive given the amount of AC repair jobs in Houston after hurricane Harvey! Called my appliance warranty company this am for our a/c and Comfortstar was at my house within hours. On a 100 degree day. Bert diagnosed the problem quickly and had it fixed in no time. Great guy and explained everything that was going on. I signed up for their annual maintenance plan on the spot - they visit 2 times per year and inspect, clean, and evaluate both the a/c parts and heater. Worth the $125 for the both visits. Cant get someone out for less than $75 per visit.

Comfort Star has serviced my aging AC units for several years. When it was time to change a unit out, I got nothing but excellent service from comfort star. They were upfront about the cost and what the work entailed. They changed out my unit just as we planned out and helped out 8 months later when I needed their support after a home sale inspection. I will continue using their service in my new home.

Comfort Star did a great job of fixing our A/C. Our circuit board burned out. Bert was able to quickly determine the issue and make the repair. He did a great job.

Zach came out promptly and reviewed the repairs needed. Provided a quote and repaired the same day. Zach kept me updated, as I was out of town, and sent texts showing the repairs as I had requested. Definitely recommend and would use again.

I highly recommend Comfort Star! They replaced both my outside unit and the evaporator coils for a very reasonable price. Habib and his team delivered on time and the quality of the work was excellent. They were honest about their recommendations and gave me different options based on my needs. I was very pleased with the service. I really appreciated the technician allowing me to shadow him and him tell me exactly what was wrong with my unit. Comfort star was able to come same day to get my unit working and return 2 days later to replace the whole unit. Overall a very good experience and I would use them in the future!

I’ve been having a/c issues for over a month now and have had horrible luck using my home warranty. The company they sent out has been a total waste of my time (3 visits).I called Comfort Star to get a second opinion even though my home warranty doesn’t work with them and have had exceptional customer service so far! Zach came out and fully explained what he was doing and allowed me to ask questions while he diagnosed the problem. He was kind enough to stay while I contacted the home warranty to see what other options I had in the event I had questions for him.Although my issue hasn’t been resolved, Zach reassured me they would make sure I was taken care of correctly regardless.
