Was a great experience, no need to know how to swim. The staff explain things well and is very patient and organized . While you wait for your turn you can swim in the ocean they have many things for you to use. Life jackets and all equipment is free to use.

One of a kind experience, and our guides and divers were excellent! My wife is uncomfortable with water (luckily was calm day out there, though understand it can get quite windy) and this is probably the closest she will get to a scuba experience, she loved it, felt safe the whole time, and got great pics near a turtle and bunch of fish! I got to snorkel beforehand right next to a turtle, was so cool!Only nit is that we dont think we got our full 20min worth as we were part of the last group to go out, and didnt seem like we got to move around and view different angles as much as earlier groups did. Dont think we wouldve saw much more than we did, but wouldve been nice to spend more time under the water given what we paid. Pictures/videos sold separately, but def worth it.

Such a fun and interesting excursion! We met at the landing dock behind a shopping center and from there, it was only about a 20 minute boat ride out to the loading area and once they, they gave us detailed instructions about what to expect. They only take 10 people out at a time and while awaiting your turn, you have the option to go snorkeling which I suggest as the water is crystal clear and beautiful and you might get the chance to swim next to a large sea turtle or two!Once it is your turn, you climb down the steps and when the diver swims up to you, you grab the rim of the hood and they take you out a few feet. They will tell you to hold your breath and then go under the water and come up inside the hood. The crazy part is that you can breathe normally as the water only comes up to your neck. I have a fear of closed in spaces and it took me a minute to get my breathing under control, but once I did, it was a very cool experience. The divers take you down, take photos of you and they also look out for any hand signals o make sure you are ok and not in distress. We dived for about 20 minutes and it was plenty of time to fully appreciate the experience. Although we have a go-pro, we also bought their photo package because they got some really cool angles that we were not able to get.The crew was great and I am glad we went with this company and that we also booked 4 months in advance because they were sold out.

This is an absolute must do in Hawaii! Such a cool experience and the crew was incredible. Puts your mind at ease, and so helpful and accommodating. They announced that you dont have to know how to swim, but that might not be the case for everyone. They drop you back off at the boat several feet away from the stairs and you have to swim back with a fairly strong current (I saw the male divers assisting people out, but the girl that helped me and my son expected us to swim back...which is fine, but not if you cant swim so just be aware if youre a non swimmer). The captain was incredible. Such a chill vibe and we saw lots of cool fish and several turtles. The pictures they take of you are awesome and well worth the price ($20/person). Once youre done, you get to snorkel while everyone else goes. So many things to see in the super clear water, but the current is strong so most wore life jackets! Overall I cant recommend this enough...absolutely amazing and memorable! Also they took all covid precautions, and sprayed down each helmet after each group went. Really impressed!

So much fun! A truly unique experience. The staff are professional and courteous. They make sure that all guests are comfortable and give clear instructions. The scuba scooters were truly something else, theres nothing that comes close to that experience! Each person had their own diver to make sure that there were no emergencies. They take their own photos and videos, so you are able to take in the full experience. Shout out to the crew!

Took my daughter on this excursion for her 14th birthday. We loved it. Its a short ride to the dive site, or at least it felt that way with all the excitement and adrenaline running through us. The captain and crew told us exactly what was going to happen and how to communicate. They split the passengers into groups. Obviously, you stay with your family/friends. The underwater experience was about twenty minutes, and a third of that was taking pictures and the video they want to sale you. Good news is, IF there is time, they will take you down again. The only opportunity for improvement is, they didnt let us know when we could start operating our scooters again after the photo session ended. Feel like we wasted time sitting in one place and THAT made me panic. Had to use my sign for, get me outta here! So, that brings me to another compliment. My guide, one stays with you the whole time thank goodness, he was all over my hand signal. The response time was practically immediate. Didnt realize how deep we were until I wanted up. Ok, now the photos. The guy that took out groups photos and video did a great job. They gave us a bundle deal for the four of us. Just please remember to bring CASH for the tip. They will deserve it. All in all, we were happy with the experience. Our group ranged in age from 14-50 years old and we enjoyed it. The fish were very welcoming too!!! It helped that we had food for them. Lol.

AMAZING experience and absolutely WORTH IT!The meet up point is at the port tucked behind McDonalds.The catamaran takes you about a mile away toward these reefs where fish and sea turtles hang out. We jumped in the water with your diver (each person has one dedicated diver per scuba scooter). The staff teaches you hand signals to communicate with your diver in case you are uncomfortable with something. While you are waiting for your turn you can snorkel with the provided equipment! They take pictures of you and your group, which is available for sale - definitely recommend buying them - and they send it to you for digital download.They provide light snacks and water!Some friendly reminders:* wear reef safe, mineral sunscreen!* TIP THE STAFF WELL! They are taking care of each patron for the entire duration, and diving is physically demanding work

The underwater scooter is a must do experience while in Ohau. You get to dive with the fishes with being a diver. They make it fun and safe by having an experienced diver with you at all times. The only thing I recommend is to take some motion sickness pills before you go. A couple of people got sea sick and couldnt participate.

The Submarine scooter was A-MA-ZING. The staff was comforting and very supportive. The captain Boon was very helpful and informative on the million questions we asked. Helped to relieve the fear i was feeling at the time. I would recommend this adventure to everyone even those with fear of water or being in a tight space. . Its worth every dollar PLUS.

Now that more things on island have opened up, I wanted to do something different for our anniversary. This is exactly what I was looking for. My husband and I had a blast! We got to snorkel while waiting for our turns to use the scooters. Everything is provided for you; I was very impressed with all the gear they offered. AMAZING!!! MAKE SURE YOU BOOK THEM ON YOUR VACATION! We booked the Seabob as well as the Scooter. We were the only two people who rented the seabob and a lot of people were asking about it on board. When they started getting people on the scooter we were given our seabob to ride around and snorkel. It was so much fun! We were the last people who were given the scooter since we were on the seabob. It was so organized and the staff were professional and very very helpful.The scooter was a total different experience!! It was so great! And the way they handled you underwater was so professional and they actually cared about you. Amazing 👏 .I have no words to explain the experience that was given to us! Great fun! The boat crew was amazing and fun. My 10 year old daughter had a blast on her scooter! I on the other had was unable to go out after a few mins due to being claustrophobic. The safety divers are amazing and got me out of the water and made sure I was ok. If you can at least give this adventure a try you wont be disappointed. You also have time to snorkel around and see all the amazing fish and turtles. 🤙🌺

From the moment we showed up at the dock to the end they all were kind, helpful, fun and accommodating.Once you get to the location you take turns getting on the scooters, there we’re about 6-8 scooters and while you wait for your turn you can snorkel 🤿 and I highly recommend you get in. It’s amazing! Then, when you get your turn in a scooter, there is a diver with you at all times. The diver will make you feel comfortable and safe. They’ll point things out to you and help steer you in the right direction, if needed and they will make sure you feel safe and secure.We were provided with pictures and video at a very reasonable price, that I am so thankful for.Mahalo, Island Water Sports for making our vacation that much better!

These folks were amazing. They had 8 underwater scooters, and a personal diver for each one. They provided free snacks and water during the two-hour experience. There was a group of probably 36 people total, and when you are not diving, they have snorkeling gear sanitized and ready for free use for swimming around the boat.

So much fun I loved it...

An absolutely phenomenal underwater experience with upclose in-your-face contact with colorful fish and as close as you can get to sea turtles without touching them (which is illegal to do) and even got to hold a starfish! The Captain, who looks like he walked in off the set of Break Point, and the rest of the staff are super friendly, helpful and patient if thats what you need. Do the scuba sub first and then go snorkeling in the clear ice blue water... your about 30 to the bottom. And make sure you get the best photo/video package of your visit - its worth the bragging rights! Aloha!

This was one of the best activities we did on the island. My boyfriend and I went together, and we had a blast! The fish just swim around you and the staff did everything. They even were able to get pics of us together and I got to see a sea turtle! While you wait, you can snorkel too. I was so mesmerized that I forgot to scooter around, (which is just turning a handle) and they had to remind me. Make sure to get the pics. Its worth it.

Our main diver was Jeremy and he help us all out!! We had a large group of about 30 plus people and they were able to set up a private dive for us. They were able to accommodate our beginner divers and our certified divers. We all had a great experience and felt as thought we were taken care of and looked after well.

Was amazing experience! I don’t know how to swim well and didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. They have a diver with you at all times. You get to see some great stuff. You also can snorkel or swim while waiting your turn. All in all with it!!!

We signed up for just snorkeling and scooter snorkeling. They were not worth the services for the price we paid. They didn’t provide life vest. They took us to the place where there were no other boats, maybe because they had scooter snorkeling. We didn’t see any good fish in both kind of snorkeling. Tides were bad snd not a good experience at all.

It was a good experience, the crew was kinda boring, we saw lots of turtles (like 10).They had English and Japanese guides.Only 6 people can use the mini subs at a time, but they lend you snorkeling gear.It may be hard to get in the sub, so try to stay calm, its very safe inside.

Sure you will enjoy the whole ride, short scenic cruise, free snacks, free snorkel kit. all divers, crew, and captain are very young and enthusiastic. the actual sub scooter ride is too too short in length.

I love submarine scooter tour, the crew was excellent, I dont know how to swim neither dive but crew help me to make it.

This was a totally different experience. The water scooters were fun and provided good mobility. The only drawback was that you werent free to explore on your own. There was always a diver with you. It is understandable though because there was no audio communication available. Without that feature there isnt a reliable way to control a large number of free roaming scooters. That would be a recipe for disaster. All in all, a great experience well worth the cost. We would do it again.

Island Watersports Hawaii was a FANTASTIC experience. We had to reschedule and then our trip was rescheduled but the person over the phone gave us tips on hikes to waterfalls in the area that we could do instead that morning. Once we were able to successfully go out on the boat, we had a wonderful time. The crew was SO helpful. My husband doesnt know how to swim but the crew was very supportive when he snorkeled off the boat and while getting in and out of the water for the scooters. You can buy photos that the crew takes while you are on the scooters and they are sent to you right after. The company was very responsive with both the photos and booking or scheduling the excursion! We loved the experience and would definitely recommend!

Oh my goodness! What a great experience! I loved hanging out with the turtles and fishes. Crew and staff were great. Captain was knowledgeable. It was windy, so the boat was rolling and rocking, so I did get to feeling seasick. I was so glad to get back to shore!! On a calm day, this would have been a 10 for superb!

We had such an amazing time. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and makes you feel safe! It was so thrilling to see all kinds of fish up close and even turtles! This was one of the reasons we came to Oahu and we are happy we did. Great experience and would definitely do again!

If it were possible to give 10 stars I would. My husband and I chose this and we are so glad we did. This is an experience like you have never had. We saw so many sea turtles and all types of fish. I had a lot of anxiety about getting in this but the staff were so encouraging and very patient with me. You need to do this when you are in Hawaii. The staff were AMAZING. The crew is great, they make you feel very safe and take great care of you. Definitely opt for the video and photo package because they do a great job of capturing the unique moments and have a very high def camera. Seriously...check this out!

This was truly an amazing thing to do in Ohau!!!! The scooters were definitely a unique experience, but the best part for us is that we got a 40 min snorkeling session in addition. They do eight people at a time, so while you wait, you get to snorkel! The turtles are right there and you get super close to them, plus you can take pictures of the other people on the scooters! The water was super warm and clear. It was October! Definitely add this activity to your trip.

You will see and pet lotsss of fishes..Crew is very friendly and there is a diver with u always so no need to worry at all!! They will tie some fish food to your scooter...SUGGEST to save some food to feed fishes when one crew member comes to take pictures..so that u can capture pics with lots of fishes around you..

My two teens went mid August & parents just snorkeled since we already scuba dive. my daughter chose this tour for a bday gift. The staff are all great starting with the person who booked it. Michelle was great at answering questions and even suggested to take Motion sickness medicine before coming since there were large swells. The Captain was great and Boone the photographer did a great job. Buy his photos and videos well worth it.

This was an awesome experience! It was so fun. I thought I would want to cruise around on the scooter more than I did, but I was having so much fun feeding the fish that I didnt even think about moving. The safety diver actually had to keep motioning me to scoot around more. After I was done and was waiting for others to finish their round, I was able to do some regular snorkeling since Island Watersports also brought some snorkel gear and fins. I even thought the snorkeling was better than Hanauma Bay because the water was deeper, much less crowded, and I could watch the turtles! And the crew was awesome too! I just wish I could have done it for longer.

Aboslutely loved it. The crew is friendly and they also provide a swim vest if you dont have one. I got to see a lot of fish and few turtles. They offer complimentary snorkeling kit for free (use and return ) if you know snorkeling .

We had a fun time doing the submarine scooter tour! They have 8 sub scooters and they have divers assist tourists in groups from the boat to the canyon where turtles and fish can be seen. There are more people on the boat but they have snorkel equipment you can use and snacks and water you can enjoy while you wait for your turn. They also have an herbal oil to help customers with motion sickness. Each person gets one 20 minute turn underwater in the subs, the divers are carefully observing the whole time in case you need help or if you need to come up early. If you come up early be aware that it ends your 20 minutes (they tell you this beforehand too) so be sure you can handle it. Probably not for you if you are claustrophobic, I noticed some kids from other groups were too scared to go once they were in the water. The initial plunge under the water to get in the bubble was scary for me but after that it was fun. They have photos available for purchase which I thought was worth it since we weren’t bringing our cameras under the water.

Sub scooter was an amazing experience.... the complete team facilitated the activity very well... the divers were highly experienced and made us comfortable with the activity, although we didn’t knew swimming.. would definitely return back once again for an amazing experience... kudos Team Island Water Sports 💕

New kind of experience for non swimmer; not cheap for 20 mins under water; the view is a bit diminished （smaller than actual size); didn’t see any turtles

This submarine experience completely surpassed our expectations. The water was a shade of blue I have never seen, and it was perfectly clear. Between the snorkeling and the sub, I spent 10+ minutes hanging out within feet of a very comfortable turtle, and saw hundreds of fish. I couldnt believe what a great experience it was for my family and I.

Fantastic experience!!It was very well organised. I was initially very apprehensive about doing this as I had a bad experience doing the Aqua walk in Bali when my helmet filled up with water. This by contrast was such a pleasant experience. There was so much space inside the helmet; you can put your hands inside of needed. The instructors clearly explained how to stop your ears from clogging up. It was a 1:1 person to diver so you felt very safe. Waters were so blue and teaming with fish. We even got to spot some turtles. Would recommend to all 😊

We had the best time in crystal clear blue water with lots of sea turtles hanging around. The crew clearly loved their jobs and having a laugh or two. It enhanced the experience and made for a laid back environment. If I had time I would do a trip with them again.

Went on the 2 hour turtle tour with personal submarines. The actual scooter gets you closer to fish than turtles but it its easy and theres a guide with you so no worries if youre not a good swimmer. Absolutely recommend getting in the water and swimming with the turtles though, you can get really close and its an amazing site. Relatively strong current though so need to be able to swim. Well organized, worthwhile groupon although my original time did get cancelled so a bit of a scramble trying to reschedule but ended up fine.

DO NOT GO for your own brain and stomach health. The people on a single tour greatly outnumbers their equipments. Result is you think its a tour of 2 hour fun but its actually 1 hour 40 min wait + 10min on the way + 10 min in the submarine. And while waiting, half of the people will get sick and puke all the way. Your brain and stomach will thank you so much for not killing them in the end and you have no emotion for the submarine at all after that.They couldve put less people on the boat and run more shifts, its 5min away from shore after all.

The scooter ride was an awesome and fun experience. You get to see the sea turtles and the fishes up close. The divers are very friendly and professional. For additional $60 (2 people), you can purchase the photos and video of the experience. Worth every penny.

What a BLAST! My parent dont know how to swim but they WANT TO COME BACK and do the scuba bikes again!! The staff takes care of you, such an amazing experience, who can say you saw fish turtles and dolphins? I CAN! We came in January..

Sweet place, good time, great team. Their focus is on you while your in the water and on deck there is plenty of room to lounge around. 10/10 will be back again. Team also provided plenty of snorkeling gear for those waiting to ride.

Great people running this operation! Very helpful and considerate. If you get the chance to join them on their excursion, do so. The only downfall of the trip will be the lack of speed in the scooters. I had hoped that they would be a lot more powerful!

Great tour. You take a quick ride out to the location, only a few minutes, and then they break you up into small groups. Youre down for about 20 minutes, and when youre not on the scooter, you can hang on the boat, or they provide snorkel gear too.

It was really cool, we saw sooo many different kinds of fish, my friend even touched and saw sea turtles!!! Very simple rule s to follow, very safe as well. I got really bad sea sick because I took only 1 pill an HR before..I suggest people who tend to get car/sea sick to take 1 pill the night before, and 1 pill when you wake up(like at least 1.5 hr before), and last 1 pill 30 min before...this is what I did for the next day scuba diving, and didnt puke at all 😃 got sleepy though.

I did the underwater scooters and it was a blast. I was a little nervous but they had a diver supervising each of the scooters for safety and to guide you to interesting sites (sea turtles!). The staff were all super friendly and helpful and made a point to make you feel welcome. While waiting for your turn on the underwater scooters they let you snorkel and that was super fun as well at the location.

The people at Island Watersports Hawaii took excellent care of us. As a couple, we were looking for something fun we could do in the water with one of scuba certified and the other super probe to seasickness, we needed something we could both enjoy, together. The scooters were a great happy medium for us.Really conscientious, pleasant divers helped us along the way. We got fantastic photos and a video to preserve our memories of this fun adventure.We saw lots of fish and turtles, mahalo, watersports crew and captains!

This was so fun the people were so nice super friendly like 20 min in the machine and observing or snorkeling in the mean time really neat experience

This was my first time participating in any kind of water sport activity so I was a little nervous at first but I had a blast riding the submarine scooters. I purchased the deal on Groupon ($98/each) and booked the tour by email. Booking was easy and the staff answered any questions I had promptly.A group of us got on their boat and they took us to the location of the submarine scooters. I took a Dramamine about an hour before so I didnt get any motion sickness. The boat ride was very smooth nonetheless. Getting in the submarine scooter was very easy and the divers are there to help you every step of the way. If you cant swim let the divers know but dont worry they will make you feel very safe.They tie a little bag of fish food in front of each scooter so that the fishes swim right up to you! I think we were riding on the scooters for approximately 20 minutes or so. The scooters are super slow but easy to drive. The divers will give you directions underwater to either take pictures or to tell you to head over to a certain spot. Each little group took turns so while we waited they had life vests, snorkel gear, and fins for us to use to swim around the ocean. The best part was we saw 3-4 sea turtles swimming around us and we got to swim right next to them! They arent shy at all! It was so amazing!They also provide chips and water in case you get hungry and thirsty. Also, if you dont have a great underwater camera I would recommend buying the pictures they take for you. Very good quality. We get all 100-something pictures for about $70 (split among 6 people). It was a steal!Overall, amazing experience. I recommend to anyone who is new to underwater activities.

One of the most interesting and amazing experiences weve had in Hawaii. Perfect for non swimmers as well. The guides are super patient anf cater for everyone. The sealife wont disappoint! Saw sea turtles and fed the fish. Theres also time to snorkel on your own and relax on the boat. Definitely would recommend for anyone at any swimming levels.

Awesome experience, very relaxing and fun to do with the whole family. Recommend taking a GoPro to capture good photographs and pictures. Really cool to go down into the water with tons of different fish in your face.

This is the first time Ive done one of these and I cant say good enough things! Everyone is very professional and friendly. Their instructions are easy to follow and they make you feel safe.The boat ride is short and they have fins, snorkles, life jackets and shirts. Snacks are also provided.The scuba scooter is unlikely anything Ive been in. You dont feel claustrophobic and theres a dedicated diver for everyone.Tons of fun. Recommend!!!

Even though I cant swim, the experience was amazing. This was my first time snorkeling and riding an underwater scooter. The staff was awesome. There were snacks for everyone. The scooters were slow but not really an issue because their were fishes everywhere. I also had the experience to feed the fishes while on the scooter. The fishes love the balled up hamburger buns. The fishes bit my hand while I was feeding them but its not at all painful. Ive seen fishes and turtles before in aquariums but what you get with Island Watersports is on a whole new level.

This was an interesting experience. Staff was nice. I bought this off Groupon as well and it was worth it just to try. While you are waiting to go on the scooter you can snorkel. During the first few minutes theres a lot of pictures taking so I wasnt sure when I can go. The fish feeding experience was fun as well. They will nibble your hand so just be aware. Remember to tip well!

The highlight of our entire trip! We did a lot of activities but this was just amazing! We used a groupon and did the Submarine Scooters and wow I recommend it to everyone. Everyone I tell is wowed just by the fact that its even a thing (so were we)! While waiting for everyone else to take their turn (only enough scooters for a few at a time) you can snorkel around the boat and I got close enough to a sea turtle to touch it! The photographers photos and videos turned out great and they were really reasonably priced at ~$30 I think. The crew was fun as well, definitely recommend! Would love to go back and try the water jet packs!

Incredibly FUN experience, our family had a BLAST!! My 10 YO loved, we thought he couldn’t reach but he put his knees on the seat and did GREAT!!!

These guys are worth every penny. Even if you cant swin they are good at helping you to conqur your fear. They stick by you and let you free snorkel before and after you submersible adventure.

Terrible customer service! I booked a reservation early in the morning the day of my flight (in the afternoon). I received a confirmation said that I was scheduled for the day after I left already! This mistake was on their part and they would not refund me after I called and emailed. Good thing this was paid through card or else we would’ve been scammed!
