My schedule occasionally aligns with the monthly Waikiki Neighborhood Board meeting held at the Waikiki Community Center. It provides an adequate venue for holding these meeting. It is configured like your average Junior High Gym/Multi-purpose room with a stage fronting an open floor area.- In using it for the Waikiki Neighborhood Board meetings everything is setup on the main floor with audience/public folding chairs facing a semi-circle of tables where the board members are seated backed-up to the Stage. This arrangement works pretty good but sound has always been a challenge given the very bright acoustics of the hard floor/walls and ceiling. The only damping are the Stage drapes but overall they have little helpful effect.- It doesnt help that participants who present or comment largely do not know how to use a mic and the contracted A/V operators are very uneven on their skill level. Not only does this distract from being able to hear what is being considered when you are AT the meeting but it compromises the recordings that are made and later posted online that allow the rest of the Waikiki community to play back later.- One BIG heads-up to the A/V crew is to GET THERE EARLY enough to have time to not only pop-up the speaker stand but to fully test ALL the mics and bring a spare. Also ENSURE all mic batteries have been FULLY CHARGED before you pack the equipment and head to your destination. Testing these batteries with a meter once in awhile might help determine when they need to be replaced.- Again, overall glad there is somewhere local to meet, but I wish theyd solve the long standing A/V issues and if someone isnt using the mic correctly they should be interrupted and corrected before they are allowed to go on. Of course tell the presenters this ahead of time when you brief them on proper mic usage so you get better results.
I can’t thank enough! Everyone is extremely nice in this School!Miss Pam, Miss Shar, Miss Sandy and Miss Carrolyn are amazingThank you for taking care of Alan🌺🌺🌺
Waikiki Community Preschool is wonderful. I love the staff and their structured system. Teachers are firm, but very very nurturing. Everything is a learning experience there, they know how to make kids follow their lead. I had a couple hard experiences before and I thought it would be harder to adjust myself to having my daughter go to school, but they have made my journey a lot easier than expected. I recommend this school to every parent.
Great facility! Great people! Really good Senior programs and terrific fitness classes. I teach Zumba Gold and other classes there on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Stopped by Waikiki Community Center which is between Beach and Canal. They had a market there but only a few tables which seem to be mostly personal household items. However I also noticed they had classes for, I believe, Tai Chi and yoga at $8 per class for non-members. Next time I visit I will look into the classes.
My daughter went to preschool here and I will never ever forget how everyone here made it the best and memorable experience for my daughter and I. Miss Pam is awesome and I have no words to express how much she helped me when my daughter attended preschool there. Miss Briana hands down is one of the best teachers here. My daughter is attending kindergarten and the first day she asked me what happened to Miss Briana.. I wanted to cry.. but I told her she is at a new school now and Miss Briana is not your teacher anymore... My daughter was optimistic and said No she is going to be back tomorrow. It made me break down..because of all the memories and how well they took care of my daughter and how they taught her was just another level of compassion and understanding... I really wish they had a grade school there so I could keep my daughter there. If you want your child to go to a preschool you can trust your child with I recommend Waikiki Community Preschool. They set the bar and expectations of the school and education standards that I want for my child. I always look back at the times my daughter went to school and I cannot express how much they helped me throughout my daughters preschool years....
Wonderful selfless place. Truly serves the community
I take a Zumba class there every Wednesday night, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Its a fantastic class with a highly energized instructor. Cost is $8 per class, $5 if youre a member of the community center. The room is always clean and the bathrooms are locked with a code thats available to class members.
One of the great things about Waikiki Community Center: the writing group led by Laureen Kwock on the second Tuesday of every month at 2 p.m. We write to prompts provided by Laureen, read our work aloud, get useful feedback, and get to know each other through our writing. Laureen is a skilled and gentle facilitator.
I took a Zumba class today(on Wednesday 7:00PM). Its so awesome♡I love instructors energy, movement and songs♡ I can feel that she love dancing. I cannot wait til next wednesday💃💃💃chachacha~
Was great on this easter day, took my friend Betty to an AA netting, glad I did, she needs it. So if youre having to go to one, go there! Great speakers, great people in recovery. Wonderful staff, variety of events and classes. A real feeling of community. I will return, again and again.
Great job on the spot and Ill be there at the same time today.
I was there for a United Self Help gathering. Basically a hall for functions so your own experience there will vary depending on your purpose there.
Nice place to go when I go to church. From what I see the Waikiki community center has a lot to offer the people.
We went there for Palate. Just to get this old bones moving. They have lots of different types of ways to move
Old run down space. Thrift shop is a closet where the workers take the best donations for their friends.
Hope Chapel on Sundays 830am & 1030am. I learn a lot of biblical principles. How to love Jesus, love mankind (neighbors).
Best community support organization!
I appreciate what the Waikiki community center has to offer for all ages, activities, Senior farmers market coupons, Church, and meetings. Thank you all for your support in all you All do.
Wonderful resource for the local community. Many seniors and struggling workers do live in Waikiki!

I took a hula lesson for beginners. All you have to do is pay the teacher directly on site on the day without making a reservation. It was 60 minutes, but it was a fun time to teach me carefully.
During your stay in Hawaii, you will attend Hula with Nalani classes. I love his personality and choreography (* ^-^ *)
Child Kindergarten. Teachers are good
I was able to experience it cheaply.
I attended an intermediate class of hula dance. Even if you dont understand English, you can follow Hula terms. He taught me one song in a short lesson. Most of the participants were Japanese.
Hula, ukulele, yoga, etc.For lessons that local people attendThere are many lessons that tourists can join for a fee
Farmers Market Tuesday Friday morning
