I want to star off this review with positive aspects that made it to 2 instead 1 star. First of all Marcie and the owner agreed to release us from our lease and even reduced the rent for couple hundreds due to the COVID crisis- and for that we are very grateful.The rest, and mainly communication with Marcie was really bad. It is always over messages and super rude. She even wanted to charge us for using the parking space after moving out- and sent me a pic of a wrong space, never bothering to apologize for a mistake. Also, she refused to give me my mail, which I think is a federal offense and plain rude.We moved in an apartment that had dirty floors and bathroom, but when moved out the cleaning - including the specialized floor cleaning and fumigation and some things she estimated needed fixing costed total of $750 of the deposit- which is a lot, but they did lower the rent so ok.When we moved in in the place following were broken- electricity issues, fridge, washer, bedroom doors... and the place was empty for at least couple of weeks- so they never bothered actually preparing it to be rented in a good condition.Out of whole experience and the wonderful year we spent in that apartment my biggest joy is that I no longer have to communicate with Mercie!Wooohooo!
DO NOT MAKE DEALS WITH SAKUMA REALTY INCThey play dirty moves with tenants. I rented an APT in Honolulu for my dad (65 years old) just for 3 weeks and they charge me $500 on cleaning. Mr Mercie Nahaku was very disrespectful, she called me stupid when I asked her about the deposit. The contract said 14 days to return the deposit and it took more than 17 days.They charged me $ 500 for carpet and couch cleaning when you bought new for that money. I do not recommend that you deal with this company.They are not honest, they play dirty and they will steal your moneyTHANK YOU FOR SHARING

Where shall I begin with this trainwreck of an experience! If there was a 0 star rating this is what I would give Mary McClaflin from Sukuma Realty Inc. We made a booking 10 months out for a 1 month vacation rental in Waikiki Beach & paid in full in advance. Five weeks beforehand, I sent Mary an email to confirm arrangements to collect keys etc. Received no response, followed up again twice to only receive a response 2 weeks beforehand & was advised the property was no longer available. Due to short notice, alternative accommodation options were very limited, not to mention the additional cost incurred. When we went to seek a refund, Mary advised the funds were never received, despite the funds being correctly wired into the bank account from the details provided. No remorse, no responsibility or accountability taken. Mary should not be allowed to operate as a real estate agent & should be struck off. Not only have we incurred substantial financial loss, the sour taste from the whole experience will be forever lasting. Due to Mary’s unconscionable conduct, I don’t know how she sleeps at night.... BE VERY AWARE, as I would hate for anyone to go through what we have endured.
To all i been renting from wally sakuma for 5 years and hez is the best property manager ever if i have a problem in my unit i call wally hes right there to fix it hes very helppfull and honest and a very nice guy
Greetings all, I was read the reviews and did not expect them to be true. I lived at the Keeaumoku units that where managed by Marcie. Communication is key, During my stay everything was fine, residence wasnt being taken care, exterior was always dirty, they never cleaned adequately they just blew things away and hoped water would make it look clean. They tore down Great trees that provided so much shade in the evening, poor management decisions the list keeps going. Marcie was difficult to get a hold of. Email seem to work fairly well. We moved in the resident manager was just whipping down the unit and unit was messy i had to clean the entire unit before i moved in. The bathroom shower was awful mold everywhere, caulking over caulking to try to cover it up. took me months to clean. laundry mat steals your money, and its a hassle to work with the laundry company they hired. Unit was affordable so we put up with it. At the end, there was issues, Marcie avoided all of my responses, and she stole most of my security deposit. Very sad when landlords take advantage of you. she charged me for routine tasks that are landlords responsibility. From the looks of there corporation they need the money, they stole ours so they can continue to make money.To top it off the security deposit check was written with a miss-spelled last name. Afters years of paying your rent on time and you do your part, simply just dont expect anything back from these this realty management.Bad business should never be rewarded.
After the fact, they charged us a cleaning fee for the unit without providing us any notification. They forgot to pay the internet bill, so our internet got shut off during our stay. They are friendly though.
DO NOT USE THIS AGENCYI booked and paid 29th Sep and then whilst on holiday I received an email to say she had to cancel our booking.No help on getting us an alternative hotel.I had to try to book somewhere on Christmas day for early january....
A management company for vacation rentals. If they cant provide better service than a certain online company, why bother?
