The dental assistant (unfortunately I dont know her name) and Dr. Cross are both extremely skilled and friendly. My last dentist who Ive been seeing since I was a kid has always been rough with my teeth and never explained anything in depth with me and I just thought all dentist appointments were uncomfortable, painful, and scary. But I felt comfortable and like I was being listened to at Hawaii Dental Clinic. They take Medicaid and I had no issues with insurance. I appreciate all the staff at this clinic!

Hawaii Dental Clinic is a great place to go for all your dental needs the people at the front desk are the best so helpful and the Doctors are very good so is the assistant .They all made it such a great experience not scary at all very comfortable. Zero respect and poor dental work. Now I have to seek immediate dental care at a different location. Also, My paperwork was completely inaccurate every time I went in. Hands down the worst dental care I have ever received and the worst personal treatment that I have experienced from “medical professionals”.

My tooth has been hurting for a while. The gums and cheek was inflamed! They were able to extract the tooth!! I’m so grateful for that!! I’ve been in pain for awhile, and I’m glad that they were able to help me!! They were very helpful and caring!!

Worst dental experience ive ever had. Had a root canal done that ended up getting infected because the guy is an incompetent dentist and didnt realize that he didnt complete the procedure. The guy was so ridiculously rough and unprofessional that i couldnt bring myself to go back to him. I had to go to another dentist who then had to refer me to a specialist to fix what he did. Both dentists were in disbelief when they saw how he left my tooth and suggested i get my money back. I did try and they didnt even have my procedure on file.You might not have as bad of a time as i did but you definitely wont have a good time. Save yourself the time, money, and pain and go to a real dentist. Literally anywhere else. Or at the very least avoid dental work from the old white guy.

Ive been coming to Hawaii Dental Clinic for years now. Location is in Kukui Plaza in Chinatown, they have public parking underground and entrance is behind of the building, and once you park there you just take elevator goes right up to the clinic. Not the new dental clinic with new facilities but the Dr. and staffs are amazing people. They always accomodated me with my request, sometimes i have to cancelled my appointment few times because work/kids schedule but they always help and re-schedule without any questions. Recently Dr. Cross is directly cleaning my teeth and tell me any concern. Most of dental clinic Ive been Dr was only look at my teeth and not the one doing cleaning job but hygienist. I felt like Dr takes more time and more careful cleaning my teeth and also can check right away if theres any problems need to fix. Im very happy with the service and care at HDC. Highly appreciated.

I needed a full mouth X-Ray survey for a potential surgery and the Clinic was not just very accommodating, but also incredibly thorough and efficient. They ensured the appointment was confirmed, that I understood directions and during the appointment I was explained what was done and why. I did not even know you can measure bone density! Dr. Escobar, is a very unfriendly dentist with disregard for her patients well-being. And no personality to humor her patients. She does not make her patients feel welcome with an ALOHA smile or greeting. I was there for a severe dental treatment and I had a few questions to ask her about my procedure before we got started, and she wasnt even knowledgeable about answering them. Boy, Doesnt she know anything about dentistry? I even had to ask her to take my temperature before we got started to follow Covid-19 guildlines and to sanitize the dental chair. Wow!!! This goes without saying. This dental office location is unsafe with the uncleanliness from sitting in the waiting room before my appointment and while in the treatment room. Once the treatment was completed, Dr. Escobar showed no compassion or sincerity. I will NEVER patronage this Hawaii Dental Clinic ever again because of this incompetent, Dr. Escobar!

Ive been going to Dr. Wong for a really long time. My entire family goes to him. Hes a great dentist, probably one of the best.However, this office recently started bringing in other dentists. Theyve been hit or miss. In a previous appointment, I had to get a filling with one of the new dentists. I had to return a few months later to have it repaired by Dr. Wong. This last appointment, I walked in to the office only to find out the dentist left for the day. No one called to let me know. They just waited for me to come in and waist my time. If this downward spiral continues, I may have to find myself a new dentist.

The place is disgusting. For a medical field i can’t believe how gross it is here. The waiting room chairs have stains all over them. The fish tank and fish look dead. I got a head X-ray scan here and the chest protector was covered in dirt around the neck line. I’m concerned about how sanitary this place truely is. Oh and by the way, my appointment was cancelled after I showed up. It was never rescheduled until 2 weeks later after I called them. This place needs a clean, I’d be nervous to have any real dentist work done here.

I had an appointment in June of last year (8 Months ago) and I gave them my new insurance before my appointment since I had recently changed jobs. As far as I knew, everything went well and they took care of me and my insurance covered it. Come to find out, after they call me today 8 months later, that they tried charging my previous insurance and it got denied so I need to now pay the full amount of $200. They NEVER notified me of this bill, and they said that I cant bill my insurance because it was supposed to be done within the week of my appointment. This place is ridiculous and and they could care less about my situation and insist I pay my bill even though it was THEIR fault. Dont go to this place as they get so many patients its hard to keep track.

Dr. Wong he is the Best Dentist Ive ever known. He relieved my sore tooth and he made me feel like family. Thats why I told him I bringing all of my kids to see him. Now my kids see his daughter shes AWESOME too. The staff is Great and friendly.

I’m sure that all the Dr’s here are excellent. My Dr. is Dr. Allan Hanamura. He is one of the kindest, humble, most professional dentist that I have ever had the joy of having my teeth worked on. If you are afraid of going to the dentist then this is the man you need to see.He will fix you up in no time with little to no discomfort. I don’t think he works to often there so it might be a little difficult to get an appointment. If you have to wait. So worth it. I always look forward to my dental cleanings, my recent visit was no different. I met Chris for the first time...excellent service. Chris was very professional and efficient. Definitely was a great experience!!

I came in on a Saturday after asking if they could see me for a root canal. They were very expeditious and brought me in to do x-rays, only to tell me that they didn’t have anybody that could do a root canal there. I feel that is a devious business practice - to have me come in and pay 100+ dollars only to tell me they couldn’t help me, what a big waste of time. I would never recommend somebody go there because of that incident. The doctor was very friendly so I’m going to give it three stars.

Dr Cross does fine work. I have been seeing him for over ten years and he has always been great in servicing my needs. I would recommend him to anyone who seeks excellent dental care.

Came in as a walk-in for a severe tooth ache. Was seen right away and ended up needing a root canal and got it done right then and there. Great staff there and glad I went to them in my situation. Hats off to them 👍🏼.

Dr Leon Johnson is a superb dentist. He does not only fillings and extractions, but also performs crowns and other difficult dental tasks. He quietly explains what he is doing, and patiently answers any questions. He recently rescued one of my teeth from certain death by engineering a lovely crown. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They were aware of my change if insurance so I didnt have to explain or dig out my cards etc. Hygienist was very pleasant and explained what was being done. Offered me a blanket too. An new assistant just started and was treated with warmth and respect. Dr Zant is very caring and gentle and it made the whole dentist experience non-frightening. I send my kids there because I know that they will not feel threatened with unpleasant duty of going to the dentist.

This office has been so incredibly accommodating. My first visit was due to tooth pain that appeared out of no where. They were able to fit me in that day and resolved the problem. Then my next visit was for a cleaning but I was getting over a cold so when I showed up, it turned out I couldnt go through with the x-rays because my mouth was still sensitive. It was no problem to them. They rescheduled my cleaning for the following week.The front desk is friendly.My doctor is Dr. Zant. He really cares about his patients. He is polite and walks me through his process. He has addressed all of my concerns.I work downtown so office location is super convenient. A short walk.

They are overall a good dentist. Although I have been taking my daughter many times one time in particular bothered me. They suggested my daughter get Invisalign had her come in to get the mold taken. They gave us all this info about it and said they would let us know pricing in a few weeks once they got the results back from the mold. I have been waiting for months now. The next appointment I went to with my daughter I asked about it and they seemed to have no clue what I was talking about. Then I called and asked they were still oblivious. I decided to stop asking maybe it’s a sign my daughter doesn’t need Invisalign. I just wish they would have followed up.

Had a horrible experience here. I had an infection in my upper gums that came out of nowhere pretty bad. I work 2 blocks form here and it was the Friday of my anniversary weekend, so thought I would zip in and be able to go back to work. BIG MISTAKE! Had a bunch of big plans and needed some relief. Dr. Lisa didnt really want to drain the infection but did. I believe she used excessive force as I woke up the next day bruised and the whole left side of my face was completely swollen from the amount of pressure she used. The bruising lasted for a week! My regular dentist was shocked at the bruising. I still have a lisp from the scar tissue in my mouth and its been almost 2 weeks. NO ONE has returned my calls or even responded to the emails Ive sent with pictures. Documented the bruising all week and they are telling me that if I dont pay the copay they are taking me to collections. Have filed formal complaints against the Dentist and the clinic.

The dentist I had (dr. Johnson) seemed super pushy and I was really uncomfortable with having any more work done with him. I might be the outlier, but I definitely didn’t have a good experience with him. He didn’t even bother to show me my x-rays, which I would’ve liked to have seen. My experience was awesome. Got my wisdom tooth pulled out and didnt feel a thin till the day after. Face still swollen but its going down slowly. The pain comes here and there but the pills I was prescribed works.

Very positive! They got me right in, as a new patient, needing 2 extractions. Dr. David Zant listened to my concerns and explained what he was doing and reassured me along the way. Most importantly, he was patient and very supportive to me because I was nervous about the whole thing. His assistant was super nice and also extremely supportive which I really appreciated. Some places act like they hate you taking an extra minute of their time and they didnt do that here at all! The staff was very friendly. I felt respected when I left, which isnt always the case. TLDR: Stay away from this office and check your insurance mail for the amount they supposed to charge you vs the amount they charged you at the office!Additional update, the Director of Business Operations left a negative and unfound claim review at the company I worked for on google review. Saying that One of their staff members employs an unusual and unethical method of new business development. when all I really did was calling to follow up on the status my refund that they overcharged. Just unbelievable on how they do businessUpdate 12/21/18. As usual, no one get back to be despite the fact that they said they will. So I call the office again and was told to email Director of Business Operations. I did. An hour later, he told me to take it up with HMSA and file formal complaint. He also CC their legal team which make zero sense. I called HMSA and they told me this has nothing to do with them. Its between me and the clinic. This is hopeless and waste of time.I have been their patient for many years. Recently the quality has been going downhill. They over charged me for the filling and cleaning. I contacted them. Got the run around for 2 weeks with promise that they will contact back. I got a few emails back but nothing useful. Until I called them to follow up. Then wait for another 30 days as they said are waiting for billing from insurance and will contact me back. 30 days passed and no contact. I had to call again. The amount they owed me were wrong at first, then the staff recalculate it. From $62 went up to $133. thats double the amount they actually owed me. They said to 7-10 business days for the refund check. 2 weeks passed. NOTHING! called again and they said they will need to ask their boss and he will call me back. We will see if they will ever call me back.

The woman at the front desk, Mrs. Wong I think, is crude, which makes being there very uncomfortable. No matter how good the doctors and assistants are, which they are!, that one receptionist sets the whole visit as awkward. I need to go in for a follow up visit, but UGH, that woman! Id like to give 5 stars, but cant honestly encourage anyone else to interact with her.
