ONE RESTROOM FOR MEN & WOMEN TO USE IS NOT EXACTLY WHAT IS EXPECTED AT A MORTUARY WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO ATTEND SERVICES THAT LAST AT LEAST 4 HOURS OR MORE ..NOT ENOUGH PARKING TO ACCOMMODATE THE PEOPLE ATTENDING THE SERVICE AS WELL,, ON THE FLIP SIDE THEY HAD A GOLF CART TO PICK UP THE PEOPLE WHO WERE PARKING ALONG FURTHER AWAY FROM THE MORTUARY..THAT WAS A BLESSING ONE OF THE PASSENGER HAS A DISABILITY AND COULDNT WALK TOO FAR..THAT WAS AN AMAZING UNEXPECTED SERVICE ON THEIR PART..WE DIFFINATLY EXPRESSED HOW APPRECIATED WE WERE..THE WORKERS WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL,, THE PROPERTY WAS VERY WELL KEPT..!!!!..

Beautiful small intimate chapel off Nuuanu Avenue just above Judd Street. Limited parking, but nearby street parking is available. Nice outdoor reception area for refreshments with comfortable padded bench seating.

In May of 2015, Oahu Cemetery recently completed its new Crematorium Facilities with three state of the art cremation retorts. These new 100% natural gas fueled units are a tremendous improvement from the old units that they replaced. One interesting feature of the new facility is the Viewing Room where family members may witness the committal of their loved one into the cremation chamber if they so desire. See posted photos. Oahu Mortuary is located on the grounds of Oahu Cemetery. Oahu Mortuary is a full service funeral home with experienced funeral directors who are available to help families through their time of need.

My maternal grandfathers family is here. This is a very special place to me. I appreciate the hard work they do in maintaining the grounds. I love to visit here when I get the chance. It is a great place to visit and reflect.

I was just there at 6 pm and within the span of half an hour I saw over 12 dogs, some of whom were off leash. Their owners were letting them pee and take a dump on or near headstones and gravesites. I walked up to one woman and asked her if she thought it was appropriate to let her dog use the bathroom in a cemetery and she said I dont let him go on the grave. To which I responded how near is appropriate? A foot? And then she said you are right and left. I have at least a dozen relations in Oahu Cemetery and I find out outrageous that they would NOT post no pets allowed signed or do anything to discourage what has now clearly evolved into a community practice of using the cemetery as a dog park. Ive already complained directly to the Cemetery and we will see what they have to say for themselves.

Oahu mortuary is a very wonderful and very dignified mortuary and cemetary. The workers there are wonderful, very lovely and have compassion for the familys who have had family members that past on. Darrell salvador, and miki ho are very well on it very trust worthy and i can say because oahu cemetary/mortuary is a none profit organization they can offer cheaper rates compaired to other mortuaries they do not look at anyone as a dollar sign. Darrell salvador and miki ho along with all the other staff at oahu mortuary are very friendly and they all have the compassion to wanna help get you through your grieving state together like as if you were there own family memeber. Oahu mortuary is one big ohana. The people who take care of the bodies do an outstanding job. They made my grandpa look like as if he was still alive. The art work they do on your love ones is just amazing. The cemetary is very well maintained beautiful fish pond. So please i know everyone is entitled to there own opinions but dont have to bash a business of profession. No one person well be perfect and its never good to past judgement on others. The mortuary can try there best to enforce rules and regulations but they cant be there to always tell people to not come with there dogs. Its common sense that in a mortuary you need to show respect for the dead but not everyone is going to see things the way some of us may. I can tell you this that the premises is very well equipped with security cameras.

Miki was very careless and unprofessional on the phone. Referred to our deceased son who we were making the arrangements for, as my husbands father.
