Very helpful and honest

We chose them because its in the neighborhood and only 1 mile away. It has not worked out to our benefit. Our van has had repeat repairs for the same issue with Petes Auto. For instance, repairs on fuel filters and associated items. Also, while they repaired the blower for the heater, they disconnected the rear so that now the van is not fully heated. Our last repair was for a fuel leak. Instead of simply stating that they did not have the skill to repair it, they helped our van for almost a month with no activity. Finally, we had to just go and get it and take it to a service center that was able to make the repairs within days.

For the past 10 years my family has been loyal customers to Petes Automotive Specialties and have had a seven or eight cars serviced here. Over the years weve always had a great experience and trusted Dane and his crew to get the job done. This past year the customer service experience has severely declined. Ive had my car repaired there three times this year without receiving a quote or estimate first to approve the repairs that are needed. As a result, I never know how much the repairs are going to cost until the work is done. As one can imagine, that can cause a quite a bit of anxiety as the costs of some repairs can be over $700. Ive asked Dane and his staff each time to give me a quote over the phone before carrying out the repairs and they have ignored me every time. Every mechanic and dealership Ive worked with in the past has ALWAYS provided a quote before they proceed in repairing my car. I find this highly unprofessional and greedy. When I spoke to Dane over the phone about not giving me a quote before the job is complete he completely brushed me off and was unapologetic but I guess thats the type of response you give to a loyal customer for 10 years. Ive noticed over the years that the customer base has dwindled so my guess is that the business needs the money. If it were possible I would rate Petes Auto Specialties a negative five.

Came in with a problem. Car not running properly. Had the vehicle towed in and it was repaired and ready to go, next day. Even their pricing was exceptional. This is my new mechanic and I am recommending him to all my friends and family. Very fair, competent and Dane is a great guy to talk with as well.

My wife took our 2012 x5 there for spark plug change. Come to see that they only changed 4 plugs instead of 6 . ovious they didnt change the 2 hardest to get to.

We picked up our car on Friday, November 16, 2018 after an alternator was replaced. This was the diagnosis given. After paying over $500.00 for this repair and driving away, our vehicle would not start at the end of day! Family is stranded and requires a jump from another family member. Shop not open on Saturday! Lets see how they will make amends today. Will be there first thing this morning!
