After picking my mother up after her flight from China . I had a Hard time finding a rental car. I decided to go with hertz because that was my only option. The gentleman in Texas did everything hebcould to be helpful and get me into a rental so I could start my two day trip to Florida. A 16 hour drive took twice as long because I had to stop to smoke because it was a non smoking vehicle. Which wasnt a big deal. When I arrived to the holiday location I had been driving for two days, hadnt showered and had not eaten a good meal in days. I looked rough to say the least. Immediately I got treated like trash. They went and checked out the car without me, which wasnt smoked in. My mother smokes and had just come from china. One of the countries with horrible pollution the dog water bowls get pollution in them just by sitting on the ground in her apartment and has to be changed twice a day so the dogs dont drink the polluted water. They said we had been smoking in the vehicle we hadnt. I stopped numerous times to smoke and towards the end I got nicotine gum so I could get more distance without having to stop so often. I got charged $200 for a cleanup fee for smoking when we didnt. I feel like they were just trying to rip me off. My moms luggage smells like pollution and after having her bags in the vehicle for two days .... There probably was an odor but it wasnt from smoking in the vehicle. I made sure to vaccum the vehicle. They even went as far as to say there were ashes in the vehicle... that was Impossible because me or my mother did not smoke in the vehicle. I do not recommend this location or renting from this company at all. I have rented vehicles from enterprise with zero issues and without being accused of doing something I did not do. They rip you off and make you feel stupid for being upset that they are charging a ridiculous cleaning fee. Future car rental purchasers beware!!!!! Also that vehicle was not cleaned properly before being handed to me.

VERY UNSATISFIED, tried to help a friend who is deaf, reserved a van for them online, he never received a email conformation. so i call there for him give them the reservation # they tell me they dont even have the vehicle we reserved. Well what is the purpose of the darn reservation then. So I asked for a different vehicle at the same cost as our original reservation, they refused - wanted $170 more. They very unprofessional, i can hear workers swearing in background. I called customer service 2xs after explaining both times what happens i get put on hold so they can help me and i get hung up on. Definitely will be taking my business elsewhere.

Reserved a car on the web site only to show up at 9:00 AM to pick it up and be told that there were no cars available. Then I was told that there were 30+ reservations and only 10 cars were available to fill them. They said they tried to call me but no one called. That is just bad business you don’t take a reservation if you don’t have any cars the poor prompt coming here on vacation and hertz just ruined there vacation because they don’t care about the people there are other rentals out there that honor your reservation Likd enterprise rental they never disappoint you so go not rent from hertz they will ruin your vacation or day

Im responding to Charles K. One particular manager threatened me in a humiliating way that sent shivers down my spine at Enterprise at Palm Harbor when no one was around for a moment, was pure evil to me in the past. His comment about bringing back Enterprise is wrong. Ive never worked with this location. I will attempt to tomorrow and report on it, however in general Hertz has always been a grade up and classier than Enterprise.
Horrible service....Lisa was very rude, she did not try to accommodate my situation at all. To work at a rental service she didnt know what cars she had in stock told me to come up and look. If you are looking for great qualified service DO NOT GO THERE!!!! Horrible Service...
Staff was super friendly and efficient, pickup and drop off were quick. The car (Toyota Corolla) was great, better than expected for an economy car reservation. No pressure to upgrade or add-on. Will definitely rent from them again.

This was the worst experience I have EVER had renting a car. If I could give it a ZERO I WOULD. I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance and requested to pick up the van I rented at 12:00pm. I called around 10 am to make sure that the van would be there and ready by 12 so I could stay on schedule for my family vacation. Once I called the man that answered the phone had no customer service and Was just plain rude. He told me the van isn’t ready & that he didn’t know when or IF the van would even be back today. When I questioned him about how this could happen he told me “ questioning and getting upset with him wasn’t going to make a van appear” . He hung up and by this time I’m in a panic. I called back an hour later to see if they had any other vehicle that would fit 7 people. Once again he gave me an attitude like I was bothering him. After he told me he had ZERO car because they were overbooked, he didn’t offer to help me look or search the inventory of other hertz stores near by. I ended calling around and None of their locations had a van. I NEVER received a phone call or anything! & I never received the rent a car I reserved. So long story short.. don’t use this company, they are rude and unreliable! I have never had worst customer service on my life & that fact that he didn’t care if Me or my family made it to our destination was the icing on the cake! Sun Toyota needs to bring back enterprise! They were great! Unlike Hertz! I will never deal with them again.

We will definitely rent from Hertz again! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable. The car was clean and they didnt give a hassle when I dropped the car off early. They even sent me a thank you text for renting with them.
One of the best experiences I have had. People were polite, fast, and helpful. Garret, Dominic, Tyler, and Austin are awesome. Thanks to them I found a hertz that I can always have a great experience. Even make the best of a bad situation. I highly recommend this location to anyone that wants good customer service.

Terrible service and zero customer skill. Totally different experience from other rental car companies. They rent the rental cars by the price point not by size and class. Terrible business model. Hertz needs to do better. Will stay with the better rental car companies from now on. Not worth the hassle. The guys working there are good people and explain everything. There was a young women who was straight awful. Her attitude and her smart mouth was a huge turn off. They had mats showing there business plan that we were told was obsolete. Then why put it out? Crazy. Next time we will get arraged to be picked up. Good luck.
Terrible customer service at the Sun Toyota location. We reserved a full-sized car, paid for it in advance, and even called the day before to be sure they had it available. We were assured they had a car; the person on the phone was rude and said our call wasn’t necessary because the car was ready. The next day, you guessed it, all they have is a Prius. AND THEY DON’T CARE AT ALL that they are engaged in a classic bait-and-switch. They “don’t know who was working yesterday” so they “don’t know who we spoke We made various phone calls in an attempt to get a supervisor or district manager; no one, anywhere, is available to speak to us. AVOID HERTZ—ESPECIALLY THE SUN TOYOTA LOCATION—LIKE THE PLAGUE. Unless, or course, you WANT to scramble around two hours before you leave for a trip, trying to find a car to fit your family. I will NEVER use Hertz again.
Oh where do I begin, I rented a van from the holiday location to drive to the Florida keys with my family. When I arrived in the keys my van had a flat tire, I called customer service and they said that they could have a tow truck come and get the van and I could ride the tow drive to key west which was an hour away. I said that they needed to get me a car delivered to seeing that I was down in the keys with my young children. After being in the phone for 2 hours they realize that the car was being towed to a different location then where I needed to pick the car up at, so they said that they would get me a lyft. After everything was set up for me to get a ride to key west I realized that by the time I would have go to the hertz location at the key west airport the location would have been closed. So I called back and told the lady that we could do it the next day, know I lost a time on my family vacation running around trying to get a new rental car. When I arrived at the key west location they had a vehicle for me when I was pulling out of Parking lot I realized the passenger seat controls that move the seat was broken so the seat was right up on the dash board. I just took the van and left it was there only vehicle at the air port. When o received the van it was dirty. Taking a 7 hour drive from marathon Florida to holiday Florida was rough with a broken seat and my knees in the dash board the whole time. When I delivered the vehicle back to the holiday location I told them what kind of experience I had from the flat tire, dirty vehicle, to broken seat. All I got from the employee was oh well. I have rented from all different car rentals and never had this happen. When I rent from Alamo they make sure that my expos always great. Sun Toyota should be ashamed to have hertz in the business. Don’t rent from hertz ever.
I probably would have gone to Enterprise, although theyre not the greatest in this area either. But this location is hard to find, and its really set up for the convenience of the dealerships next door. At any rate, this was the one my insurance company paid for but reserving the car, the process after being there, etc was more complicated than it should have been.Ive landed in major airports all over the country and just gone in and picked up keys easier than just getting this one locally. I dont have see why it should be this difficult, the people were pleasant, but I think theyre more into each other than the customers.
Super helpful staff...very friendly, yet professional! The car I reserved to rent was not available, so they upgraded me without a blink of an eye (your mileage may vary with your experience [pun intended]).I will surely rent vehicles from this location again!Also, this location is within Sun Toyota, which has a really good cafe with many food offerings. I was told that many people will come in just to eat there.I cannot speak for the dealership itself personally, but its been around for years.
I have edited this review 3 times now To be fair. My overall experience was a good one considering I was most likely difficult in the beginning when it came to my money. After calming down, Joe assured me the problem was corrected. Then once I dropped the car off, of course another issue arose and Joe very calmly helped me out and made what could have been a nightmare into no problem! Thank you Joe, its been a rollercoaster but I will come back if I need another car.
If i could give 0 stars i would. They are a complete rip off. I rented from them for a week to go up to New York and i dropped it off before they closed upon my return. I got the bill today and they charged me a $300 cleaning fee for smoking (which never happened). Im 5 month pregnant with 2 children who was with me and dont smoke. When i called and asked to come see where they say they found ashes they told me it was already in detail and the ashes was on the outside window seal. I do have family and friends who smoke that did talk to me through the window but there was no smoking in the car around me or my children. I have been renting cars from all companies for 15 years and never had this happen to me. This will be my last time using hertz. I would recommend anyone to use enterprise and their sister companies. I will be fighting this cause i will not allow someone to take from me when its false information. People please watch what you are charged on your bill upon returning.

This place doesnt answer their phone and they have the wrong address listed. I just called them about an hour ago and they didnt bother to mention that they moved locations and didnt update the Google address. I called the other location nearby with no answer as well. The dude on the phone couldve easily said that the location was different on Google and incorrect before I paid for my Uber and got dropped off in the rain. If I could do less than one star I would.

If I make a 9am appointment I expect to be seen at 9am... people are on schedules and waiting two hours to be seen is not okay. I had to be in Virginia by Tuesday morning and still have to pack the rental, prepare for my trip, etc. Why is there only one office and 1 person to assist you? Why are there so many appointments set for the same time. And if they didn’t have appointments shouldn’t the person with an appointment be seen first! I’m giving hertz $1000, terrible.
Overall good location. They are marked wrong in Google maps, its says there at the Ford dealer and there not, there at the Mitsubishi dealer. Had a snafu with the reservation but they worked diligently with haste to get it fixed and we were satisfied. Only thing was that they did not have the car we reserved, but they did have another vehicle from the same category. I will use them again.

Not bad my only disappointment is I prepaid for the American Muscle class and when I got there they didnt have it and then told me I had to call around and find wanted to switch it out but its okay Ill still use you guys again thank you for your help
Dont used Hertz, its been nothing but stress, except for the roadside assistance department. Car had zero oil, and was sent to the snowy north with bad wiper blades. What a chaotic circus with customer service, I was hung up on for not understanding someone with a thick Indian accent, yelled at and called a liar by a supervisor named Dominic in the extensions department, and then told to go back to the original location so the person who obviously made the mistake can fix it. Seriously? Zero customer service, bad maintenance on vehicles, and no one in charge of this monkey operation.Enterprise will pick you up, AVIS has good customer service... Use anything else but Hertz. Seriously.

Just picked up rental we arranged for two weeks earlier. They didnt have what we asked for so they upgraded us!! The upgraded car has obviously been in a major accident and repaired judging from lousy repair work, paint etc. Part of what looks like the passenger air bag or air bag apparatus is hanging out, tires are scary looking, AC duct work for the lower section of the car is disconnected (this is in FL, kind of hot down here!!)? Probably because of the accident and very poor repair work. Interior is very dirty. So now we have to take it back and hope we can get another car within minutes of closing?? We have used them before and it was great but this is just wrong, they have absolutely no quality control and its costing us time and aggravation!UPDATE: They did take care of us with a nice clean car that will meet our needs, just wish it didnt take two trips.
This location is closed. A location should open in September across the street in a strip mall. The closest location is about 20 minutes away in Holliday in the sun Toyota dealership.
I reserved a car at this location through AAA and paid in advance online. On the morning of my scheduled pickup day I called the location about 10 minutes after they opened. I asked the woman that answered the phone (Brianna) if I would be able to pick the car up at noon instead of two which was my original reservation pick up time. She responded with ummm uhhh... yeah sure whatever. ok. I asked if a car would be there and ready for me to pick up. (Ive had issues in the past where Id arrive and no car was available). She responded with a yeah yeah sure. I then asked about pick up service. Where you at? I told her the name of the neighborhood I live in, its a mile down street from this location. She had no idea what I was talking about and told me she didnt know the area at all. She then put me on a sudden hold for 5 minutes. When she came back she repeated that she had no idea what I was talking about, but she guessed she could call me a Lyft if I really needed one.At this point I asked if she was ok, the women I spoke to wasnt speaking clearly or intelligently answering my questions, slurring her words and had delayed reaction times to my questions. She responded with are YOU ok?! then starts laughing. I said mam Im genuinely asking if you are alright, you havent been able to answer any of my questions, youre slurring your words, and you dont sound totally with it. She told me shed never drank or smoked in her life. I asked to speak to a manager, she said she was. I asked her name, she told me Brianna. She then went back to asking if I was ok and giggling. She then told me she had two customers in front of her, so thats why, she was busy. I hung up the phone and immediately called Hertz and switched my reservation to another location.

RUN FROM THIS PLACE! Call Uber or Lyft or a friend to pick you up. What a bunch of crooks; car dealerships are certainly not the center of honesty and morality, and neither are car rental places.. when you combine the two, you get the perfect storm of sleaze and deceit, and that is what you have at the Hertz Rental at the Ford dealership in New Port Richey; I reserved a premium car ahead of time with a reservation #, and when I called them, they said they didnt haven any premium cars, but could get me in a full size; when I got there they said they didnt have any full size, but did have an SUV, but he would have to clean it. He then proceeded to try and get me to sign the contract before letting me read it; when I asked for it, he laughed and said nobody ever reads it and then tried to intimidate me into not reading it, by showing how long it was and saying you going to read all this?; I noticed on the contract there wasnt a single thing about getting the non-disclosed $200 deposit back that suddenly popped up, and there also was no insurance coverage on the car (the car supposed to be being paid for by another company in full except for tax). The man then said that Hertz sucks as a company, and that everyone hates working for them, that he was from the military and was going to go join up again, because his job sucks and he didnt make the rules. So I clicked CANCEL on the machine, that was asking me to sign, and the agent then said that the $204 went through anyway! He then said that it would be refunded in the evening! I called my bank to report the fraud, and they said it wasnt fraud, but that Hertz was refunding $203... I asked where the other dollar was, and she said I would have to call Hertz and ask them! She kept insisting that it was not fraud, which is crazy, because I didnt sign anything or agree to anything. When I mentioned that my attorney is in the room and said it is fraud or theft, then she said she would refund the $1 as a courtesy.. and that was TD Bank. So Hertz profited a dollar for trying to screw me over; I can only imagine the hassle I would have had if something went wrong with the car, if this is what renting it took. Anyway, my advice.. .ride your bicycle where ever you need to go, or take Uber, Lyft or a ride from a friend... RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE and dont give them any credit card numbers.
Left my mom stranded in hurricane.Tried to rent a car for my mom. Wouldnt take a credit card by phone. Wouldnt accept her debit card on site. She is now stranded. Thanks Hertz.

Staff was somewhat rude and the car was given to me filthy inside and out. The interior was covered in ashes and found a bag of old beef jerky under the seat.

My wife and I were in a car accident, Not our fault the other person insurance is paying to fix my car and for a rental. When I got to Hertz to get my rental car they asked us for a $50 deposit, my wife gave them her bank card and they said NO, It has to be a credit card or bank card in my name. I told them that is both our account and she was with me to sign for the charge and they still said NO. They told me to go to another bank and open another account then come back. I we called to get this worked out and they said the same thing go get another bank account and get another card with my name on it. My wife asked for the Hertz corporate number and the Hertz agent refused. He said I did nothing wrong and i wont give you the corporate number. Horrible service and agents. I will NEVER get a rental car again from HERTZ!
Costumer service is ridiculous its almost laughable id rather go to the zoo and have the baboons fling their poop at me before i go back there. Retrain your employees have a workers summit or something. Just plain terrible.
