Very unprofessional. It actually feels like your bothering them when you go in there. Really sad. If you don’t like dealing with the public I would suggest a desk job in a cubicle. Something needs to change.
Staff was very rude! Was trying to get my passport done and was sent out 3 different times to get something else I WAS NOT told I needed prior to coming to post office and when I came back with everything at the end I was told “passport closed go home!” It was 1 o’clock and the post office dont close until 5 on a Tuesday and not to mention I wasn’t a NEW customer I was already being helped before being sent out 3 times prior. I hope USPS does some sort of punishment on the 2 employees that “helped” me!! I will never be returning to this unprofessional, rude, Ratchet place ever again!!!
The ladies at the Post Office are extremely polite, helpful and professional. The service has improved hugely over these past few years.
I understand it might not be the average experience, but the postal worker who helped me send my mail today was very nice and helpful.
After today I will NEVER....EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER come back to this ratchet and unprofessional post office again! Of all the USPS offices in Hoboken, this was the WORST one I had ever walked into. The staff needs to get their minds right and do better cuz this place like walking into the projects and asking for a stamp.
Every time I call up to ask about a package pickup or the status of packages, I always get someone who has an attitude and is rude. Im not even going to blame this post office for mysteriously lost packages which is a whole other story with the entire USPS. The workers obviously dont like their job. As a small biz owner I speak on behalf of many small biz owners, we look to USPS as a supply chain partner and lately its has been a lack luster partner in shipping out packages. Utterly disappointing... UPS seems to be a more attractive option these days even if we have to pay a little more...
Great experience getting our passports renewed. Person helping us went thru extensive review of our materials, making sure we made corrections, etc. thank you!
Imelda is very rude I went to this place to get my passport and this lady have not clue of what she is supposed to be doing even when she was looking at the book she still wasn’t getting it ride and went I told her that I do not have to give her original she just pushed my papers and left totally disrespectful.
This post office has the kindest staff and is among the best run Ive ever encountered. I have never had to wait more than 3 minutes in a line, and often they have a separate person scanning in pre-paid packages enabling me to skip the line altogether. Thanks for such great service!
This Post Office seems to get a lot of low reviews, so just wanted to chip in my positive experience on my visit last month. Friendly and helpful staff from start to finish. No wait, no hassle. Keep up the good work!
I’ve always had a great experience at this post office. Sometimes it’s a friendly talkative encounter, sometimes it’s quick and efficient, but always it’s courteous and respectful.I have an auxiliary post office 4 min from my apt, this one is a 10min walk. And I prefer to come here.
I went in to get my money order for my rent. First the Hispanic woman with glasses didnt know how to count she was trying to give me money back. I had to tell her no you have to take that and give me $2 back. The Asian woman with glasses says i have to fill out the slip. Secondly I never had to complete the green n white slip for certified mail. I never done that or weight it. They have a scale and they do that. Also they input the information in the system and it prints on the certified mail slip. Well apparently today was lazy postal Friday because I was instructed to do it myself in which i have NEVER done it myself. However what was I expecting from them when they dont even deliver the mail to my place of employment at all. Some days they feel like working some days they dont. I have no idea how the pandemic has affected them but if you dont want to work go home! Zero stars!!!!
Ive had the staff be helpful and kind but I still dread having to visit
This place is unprofessional in more ways then 1... buyer beware dont send nothing of extreme importance thru certifield mail,it will be lost, if you have to send something go to another town will it will get to its destination also dont bother calling a number they give you will have you going in circles on the phone, and on the phone they say a live person where here to solve you probrom thats bull, not helful @all teriable
The people working here were so so rude and utterly unprofessional.Especially black women on the most left side was so rude with no manner.Horrible service and utterly rude and unprofessional. The manager should fire them all.
The worst staff I saw ever
There people working there were efficient and nice. I send three packages and they helped me process it fast. I am glad I came to this post office on a Saturday!
Okay, the majority of the people I’ve dealt with at this location are rude and just flat out nasty. There’s one younger guy that sometimes works in the front who’s nice and also this woman behind the counter who is pleasant, but other than that I really don’t care to go in this location because of the extreme negative vibes I get and how I have to hear, first hand how rude the majority of these workers are to their customers.Like seriously I really don’t understand. First of all, you are employed and second of all you’re employed by the government (comfortable, steady job sorting mail and providing customer service). Can it really be that bad? I don’t understand. Please help me understand.Recommendation: Be more pleasant, helpful, and communicative with your customers and show them more respect.
Just was here. Stuff was very helpful and answered to all my questions. It took me 5 minutes.
For years the people who work here have been helpful and efficient, especially Gary
Horrible, liars and manipulators that damage your package and then dodge responsibility when you file a damage claim! Their whole website is designed make it impossible to be reimbursed for damaged claims. No wonder robots will take their jobs.
The staff here are like my friends & I appreciate all they do daily! THANK YOU
I showed up 5 mins before 8 am on Monday (they open at 8) and Jay kindly helped me to find the best solution for mailing my books. That was exceptional!
Shout out to Gary and Almeda (could be spelling her name wrong) they both made the the passport application process and taking a picture of a 3 week old baby super smooth. I also noticed how efficiently they were helping out other folks who were there! thank for your service!
Absolutely not helpful! I have to say, sometimes I feel they are just rude. They don’t like the costumers to have questions and they don’t really respect the time of the others. I visit here for several times. The officers here are normally ignored the inquiries of the customers. They enjoy chatting while we waiting. Better not have questions, because from my experiences, they don’t like to answer. Especially, when the background is not quite and you ask them to repeat again...
I have to agree with having a very nice staff! Ive never had a bad experience even on the phone when asking a question....
Worst staff I have been to.The front desk here are (not from a lack of a better word) are simply LAZY, REFUSES to post mark my tax envelopes (they argue that if I just drop it, the people in the back would do it, NOW MIND YOU the round metal post marking device was just between him and me and it would take about 2 seconds of his time to just post mark date stamp my two envelope). His argument took two minutes which cost him and me more time had he just post date marked two envelope (two seconds) of mine.I took my envelopes with me and went in line again to another staff and she gave me the same argument again. Unbelievable !So when the IRS tells you to post mark, tell the IRS some branches have a culture of laziness and its not possible to get a post mark.Shame on the lazy workers here. ALL OF THEM are LAZY could not care less. The culture in this particular branch is the reason why I do prefer FEDEX or UPS whenever I can do so.Never would I come back here again.
I’ve always had such a pleasant experience at this post office. They are always accommodating and kind!!
Absolutely not helpful! Asked me to fill out my own label (which is fine) but there was only 1 kind available?! So I fill it out which says priority. Then they tell me its a required 1 day delivery label thats $50 a package to ship? Then that my package wouldnt actually get there in 1 day. So why am I paying for 1 day delivery? Then he got mad when I said no. Made me fill out new labels that he had behind the counter and said it was 2 day delivery labels but they wouldnt be there till next week (3-5 days). At this point I have been in the post office for over 30 minutes so I stop fighting and just do what ever they say to get out. Score a victory point for the post office I guess?
International First Class mail option is no longer available and they dont even have an answer on if it will ever come back or when. We use that service to ship small parts overseas at an affordable cost. Also the pick up service is completely unreliable. Half the time they dont even show up. I used to be able to call the post office to make sure someone would come but now they have changed their number with the 800 number which is all automated and completely useless.
Self shipping machine is out of service for weeks now. Staff unbelievably slow and rude. Went twice 10:30 am and 4pm. Lines to the back door both times. At least afternoon they had 3 clerks instead of 1. Got all the way to the window and was told I needed to fill out a form and then get back in line. Just to ask a question, you wait in the 30 min line. Skip this location if at all possible. Go with FedEx.
Gary was wonderful. But his colleague Jay was rude and unhelpful. The line was very long to begin with. After getting through the line, Jay tried to make me get back in line to wait again because my envelope was unlabeled. I was unable to pre-label my package because none of the pens in the lobby worked. Gary stepped in, gave me a marker, and was very helpful.
Kiosk currently wont let you mail anything out right now, down for maintenance I guess...? you can still buy stamps if you need. Never had that happen for a kiosk but the clerk was very professional and quick, thanks
I usually dont write reviews, good or bads, but this place deserves to get all the negative reviews it gets. Extremely rude people, every single time. And I dont even think the employes fault, to be honest, I think there is a tremendous lack of training on customer satisfaction from USPS, I experienced this treatment in many USPS facilities but the Hoboken one is particularly bad.
The world rudest people work there.
I changed my address recently. Initially I started getting mails forwarded from my old address to my new address. However, a month or two later, I stopped getting them and at a few points realized I’m still getting mail at the old address. I have came to the post office twice and even spoke to a manager once, and they mentioned it was the carrier’s mistake and they will fix that going forward. However I am finding out today that there are still mails for me going to my old address. I’m very frustrated by the lack of transparency and accountability of the operations for this USPS office.
THE SLOWEST SERVICE EVER! Employees had side conversations and didnt care to do their job!
Horrible customer service, delivery supervisor does not know how to handle nor do his job. Ive called 3 times because Ive had packages (supposedly) sent to my address and Ive received nothing its an inconvenience for me that i have to go to the post office to pick up my packages the day after my pack was suppose to be delivered. This is starting to become a huge problem for me and I know im not the only person feeling this way.
Very poor service. They dont even provide sufficient customer declaration forms for customers to fetch. And the tape they provide to public are not convenient to use. I ended up bleeding when using that.
Lost my package, took my tracking slip and said they would call me but never did and not I cannot contact them about where the package is.
WORST customer service. I called them 5 times on Saturday and no answer. They were supposed to deliver a package on Thursday although I was at work. I requested another delivery for Friday, they never showed. Then I called the 800 number on Saturday they said it was sitting in the office on River St. and to call them. I tried calling all morning with no answer, no machine, nothing. Then a lady calls me on Monday saying she tried calling me on Saturday and that they tried delivering the package on Saturday, which are both lies because I was home all day and no attempts to contact me were made. On top of that, the workers are extremely rude. Bring your business elsewhere!
Very efficient service!
Hours are 9-11 Monday through Friday for passport applications. No Saturday hours. How does the government expect to accommodate people who work during these hours on the weekday? Awful!
Service is average. Once they lost an important letter. But just one phone call was enough to solve the problem. They wrote down my phone number, searched, found, called back.
The website, and the sign on the door both say this post office opens for the self service kiosk at 9:00 am on Sundays. I just waited there until 9:20 & the doors were never unlocked. Update your sign if you arent actually going to open.
Self service machine didn’t work
Never had an issue with the retail desk clerks. Always fast and friendly when I am there.
Rude and disgusting. The worst people to be working in customer support, services or relations. The women are so rude. Maybe working there too long and too comfortable
Id rather choke on broken glass than have to deal with USPS again on the phone or in person.
Worst customer service, they never try to help. I had a question about cost, and I was told there are other people in the line, essentially to go away. There was exactly 1 other person in the whole office. They should shut these down, and replace them with friendly fedexs and UPS. Its a miracle they have a rating of 2+ here.
THIS OFFICE IS CLOSED!!!!! How do you ship a package? Hand it to the postal worker?
Came here for a passport and the process went so seamless. Did not need an appointment and was done in under an hour.
Incredibly rude and unhelpful employees. Somehow managed to lose the mail I held there while on vacation with little explanation.
Nobody wants to work in that place .... wait times are crazy..and the employees have why to many side convos while customer are waiting... Unacceptable..
Simply the worst! rude lazy and they lose tons of packages, even registed/insured ones. avoid at all cost!
Dishonest employees. They intentionally entered incorrect dimensions of my package . It cost me 30 to mail that package to Illinois. I mailed the same package(same dimensions and weight) to California yesterday, paid shipping online and it cost me 17 dollars. Be careful !!
Yeah staffs were rude
There was only one guy at the window, and he didn’t want to help. I got helped until another guy showed up.
Po box specialist had no clue how to reserve po box online
Second time at the passport window and the guy has been late for work both times. Id get fired for being late to work like this, USPS doesnt care!
Incredibly rude. The employee had a tape right next to her hand but said she could not tape the shipping label on the envelope for me, and I had to pay $4 to get a tape and do it myself.
Slowest post office i have ever been to.Avoid it if you can
Lol its funny how spot on these comments were.
Absolutely worse customer service EVER how do you guys lose my package and have an attitude with me your supervisor at this location is garbage had me on hold for 45 minutes just kept rushing to transfer me and put me on hold how about you do what your paid to do
Very nice staff, helpful.
No word can describe how terrible this place is...
The old man there is so bad and no patience, I will never go there...
Just your typical poor customer service from government employees. Nothing to see here.
Awful, dont even leave delivery notices and dont redeliver on the days scheduled.
50 cents doesnt buy you much these days but at this place it will allow me to send a piece of paper three thousand miles.
Worst attitude.
Fast service
Bad serving attitude
Offers many services
RUDE PEOPLE and SLOW!!!!!!!!!
Too kindI came to New York and went back and forth to send gifts to good people.Very kindRecommended for those who want to come to New York and send gifts.
