If I could, I would give this place zero stars, only for the fact that Susanna is so rude. She has no professionalism and is quite frankly, an unpleasant person to deal with. The custom wedding dress a family friend ordered came back with holes in the stitching. We could forgive that if the issue was addressed properly and remedied in a timely fashion. However, Susanna started giving the family an attitude for not liking the dress, is if their reaction was unreasonable. If there were holes in a dress, I think anyone would reasonably feel upset and dislike the dress! When they asked for a refund, she gave them issue over that as well! She threatened to call the police on them, citing they were threatening to kill her, simply because they didnt speak much English. After finally settling the matter somewhat, her lack of professionalism still shone through in how she wrote the wrong date and was reluctant to change it until finally agreeing to meet on a date to fix that problem. I could tell this place would not be great when the family first entered the boutique and were not received well. She started a fight with them for wasting her time, as if such behavior would entice customers to want to return. I dont want to claim there were any racial bias motivating such behavior, but it seems to be the case. I sincerely hope this place can improve, especially with the attitude. It was an overall unpleasant experience.

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to Susanna. I brought a bridesmaid dress in 2.5 weeks ago to be altered. She rushed the first fitting and barely fit it to me and said to come back in a week for the next fitting. One day before I was supposed to go back, she called me and couldn’t remember which dress was mine, had no idea where it was and didn’t know why she wrote certain notes next to my name on her schedule. After explaining everything to her, she found the dress (meaning she hadn’t worked on it the entire week)The next day When I was scheduled to, I went back so she could hem the dress. The top of the dress that she was supposed to have taken in did not fit at all and had to be redone again. She told me to come back in a week and half at 11am. So the day I was supposed to go back I showed up at 11 and she was not at her store (which opens at 10). I had tried calling and ringing the bell. After waiting over 20 minutes, she showed up and said she told me to come at 1 cuz she didn’t even start the alterations on my dress yet!! I was beyond annoyed and told her I’d be back the next morning at 10am to collect my dress.The next morning I showed up at 10 and BIG SURPRISE she was not there. I again waited over 20 minutes and when she finally showed up I collected my dress and left. When I got home and put the dress on, it still doesn’t fit. But I refuse to let her keep my dress any longer as the wedding is now one week away.Waste of time and money. She does not even start alterations on your dress until the day of pick up regardless of how long the dress is in the store for. I will never go back.

My dress fits perfect for my wedding. She is very busy though, so plan ahead and follow up with her regularly to be sure about details and give reminders as well as keep your receipt. But she did a great job and I am very happy with it as it looks amazing and fits me perfectly. She was so nice and even made a beautiful mask to match with it as well.

Susanna altered my elopement dress and did a fantastic job. She was very sweet and made sure I understood and would be happy with the changes she was going to make. The results were exactly what I expected and for a very reasonable price. I received so many compliments on my dress. I’d recommend her for sure!

I have such amazing things to say about Susanna! She altered my wedding dress for my small ceremony in just 1 day in the middle of a pandemic! She was fantastic to work with, she made sure I was truly happy with everything and the dress looked fantastic! Prices were very reasonable too, especially for Hoboken! I will be back for all of my alterations in the future.

I read all the reviews, good and bad, and went for it. I made sure to maintain clear communication with Susanna, a sweet older woman, when I did my fitting. I went in about 6 weeks before my wedding so she had time to work on it. She did become a little confused about how much the balance was on my second visit, but again, I maintained clear communication from my part, had my receipts and we were able to continue just fine. Seems like she has a lot of work on her hands so I did make sure to make a phone call to follow up and “remind” her about my dress.I agree that some of the stitch detailing wasn’t perfect but for what I needed, it was great. My dress was 3 times too big and she made it fit. She does tend to make the items very fitted, so just be clear with her if you don’t want your dress too tight.At the end of the day, my dress looked stunning in our wedding photographs and I didn’t spend an arm and a leg for it.I appreciate Susanna’s work.

Susanna is an amazing seamstress/tailor/artist. Brought my Watters skirt and corset for alterations and she turned it into a full gown! Susanna is very attentive to detail. She created a simply bustle which did not take away from the original design and altered a silk corset-a material which is very challenging to work with. In addition, she is very communicative. She always answered her phone and was very patient in addressing all questions.I would highly recommend Susanna for any tailoring and alterations!

Susanna is amazing! I had gone to her before for a bridesmaid dress fitting and knew she was something special and very talented. When I got engaged I knew immediately where to take my wedding dress. During quarantine it was really tough trying to find a place that was open...but to no surprise Susanna was open!She is an angel and was wonderful to work with. She fitted my dress perfectly, gave me suggestions on proper undergarments and even made a matching mask. I am so thankful to have found her and will forever be a supporter of her business. She truly does amazing work and I have gone to other tailors with less than impressive results. My wedding dress had these complicated traps in the back that Susanna effortlessly remeasured, she dry cleaned by dress so that it was truly white and even used blue threading for my bustle (something blue).I would recommend her to anyone and I have; she even did my mothers dress for my wedding and two of my wedding guests. Susanna was just absolutely positive and flexible to work with especially during these unique times. She is fairly priced and really does go above and beyond to make sure you are a satisfied customer. My only recommendation is to absolutely CALL before going. She is a one woman shop and is very busy so just make sure you can get a hold of her before making the trip.

I brought in my two wedding dresses to Susanna for alteration and she did an excellent job on both. One is an all-lace dress and the other is a beaded dress. Both are quite delicate to alter, but they were handled very good by Susanna. Susannas a great, very meticulous seamstress. She definitely knows her craft. I must say though that the way she is or her personality isnt probably for everyone. Shes like a grandma whos strict and insists her own ways because she knows they work. So if you come to her and micromanage what shed do with your dress, youd most likely clash. I suggest to bring in your item months before your event so youd have time to come a few times to try it on and she would then also have enough time to work on it. My dresses were baggy on me when I brought them in and she made them fit perfectly. I was 7-8 months postpartum, and Ive made peace and accepted the fact that the dresses wont look the way they do when I saw them online on me - Lol! But they did look fine and I was happy with how they turned out :) Many thanks to Susanna.

Susanna altered my wedding dress recently and did a beautiful job. She is very detail oriented and will make sure you are happy with the work. She is competitively priced. If you are anywhere near the city, and have visited others for quotes, you’ll realize how great her quote is. Unlike in the city, where they charge a fixed rate to fix a dress, she charges for the work she is actually doing. Regardless of the rate, the quality is what’s best about Suzanne. She will show you multiple ways to achieve the look you’re going for with alterations. Go see her! You won’t be sorry. Did I mention, she is also the nicest human ever?

Susanna is truly an angel. She is such an amazing person and I am so lucky to have had her quickly fix my wedding dress + rehearsal dress. Her work is incredible. She is creative and talented. I couldnt be happier with how both dresses turned out. They fit perfectly. She is fast, always responsive and such a hard worker. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!

DO NOT go to this place! Uneven lines on my skirts. She took my skirts and dresses in to much. She lost buttons on my dress. The place is a mess and she never has anything ready when it is supposed to be. To top it off she tried to say I got fat when my skirt didnt fit. Lol I am a size 0-2.

Needed a dress last minute for a formal dance and walked 30minutes to get there. I was a little suspicious at first when I walked into the shop but when I told her my situation I found her to be a very nice/pleasant woman! The dance was that night and we searched threw dresses and she gave me free alterations! The dress was very reasonably priced and alterations only took 20minutes.

I brought my wedding dress here and I completely regret it. Suzanna is very nice but she missed 2 of our scheduled appointments and would say things like, “the dress is perfect, you look beautiful”... when there was clearly still things that needed to be done with the dress. I would not recommend going here. The negative experience was stressful and nerve racking.

Two stars because Susanna is a nice woman and the tailoring job was done well, but do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Yes, her prices are probably the most reasonable in Hoboken but as the saying goes you get what you pay for. I should have trusted my instinct and just walked out when I saw what a disaster Susannas shop was, but I was in a time crunch and she had good reviews so I figured it was fine. The fitting I had was fine but things got weird when I told her when I needed the dress by. She told me to call two days before you need the dress .. aka Im not actually going to do anything to your dress unless you remember to call me so I work on it. I set a reminder in my phone, called on the agreed day and set a day to pick up the dress. When I picked up the dress it fit well enough and I brought it home. Only then did I notice several pen marks all over the bottom of the dress. The dress is dark, so it wasnt noticeable in her shop. I should have known better seeing as her shop was FILLED with dresses hanging from every surface and at least 75% of them werent in any type of protective plastic. Literally white wedding gowns just hanging where anyone could brush past and get a mark on them. I would NOT trust my wedding gown here. Thankfully my dress is dark and I got most of the pen out using rubbing alcohol (pro tip) but now I have to bring it to be dry cleaned to get the spots from the alcohol off. Save yourself the headache (and the dry cleaning bill) and spend a little more to go somewhere else.

Please dont make the mistake I made. This woman is not to be trusted.She is unprofessional. I went to get an assessment on a wedding gown I ordered online. I wanted to make sure the dress fit well and tailored, if necessary.I found her listing on Yelp and sought her services because of the reviews. Well, she had a long list of required alterations -- requiring $250 deposit. I admit I panicked and gave the money. Anything to make sure my dress was ready for the big day. Im so glad I didnt leave my dress with her. When I had a friend help me into the dress, it turned out that none of the alterations were needed.I informed Susanna the dress fit without alterations and inquired about a refund (at least $200), she said she just paid rent for her business. She had no money. She opened her cash register to show me. She called me a liar for going to another tailor. She claimed shed call me when she had the money. Its been over 2 months and no refund.Please be aware of this vendor

Susanna is amazing! I just picked up my dress from her and it fits perfect! Susanna was really great, and came to her shop specifically for me. I need my dress altered last minute, and I’m so happy I came to her.

Susanna came to my rescue after my wedding when my strapless lace dress needed heavy cleaning at the bottom. I wanted to preserve the dress and she did a great job. The dress box is great and worth the $. She also dry cleaned my other lace (but lighter) reception dress . The only thing I was bummed about was when I picked up the dresses, she put the lighter reception dress in a cheaper plastic garment bag and not the original fabric BHLDN bag - didnt notice until the next day.

Susanna is amazing. She fixed any and all alterarions I threw at her, and she always got it done and made me feel important for every appointment even if I was getting jeans hemmed! I moved out of Hoboken but if you live there and ARENT going to her for your alterations you’re crazy.

This is a late review but she did a wonderful job extended and tightening the sleeves of my dress that I ordered online for a military ball and shortened the train of the dress. It came out beautifully and her prices are great!

Susanna is amazing. I came to her with a rush job for a Dolce & Gabana dress where the bust was too tight. I had gone to two other places that told me nothing could be done. This was Wednesday evening and I wanted to wear the dress for my birthday party on Saturday. I desperately started calling places that I found online and everyone said either nothing could be done or there wasnt enough time. I called Susanna and she told me to come in and she would try to find someway to help me. She even waited for me as I came after hours. When I got there she was very thoughtful and came up with several creative alternatives. We decide that she would make it a backless dress. She also gave me a very reasonable price. I came back Saturday morning and she did an AMAZING job. I thought the dress looked fantastic, but she is a perfectionist and still wasnt happy. She spend 15mn making a few more alterations and the dress was stunning. The dress was a huge hit at the party and I cant thank Susanna enough!

Do yourself a favor and Go to her.Sussana is a great designer, she is very professional and works from the bottom of her heart. She mad a lace dress for my mom for my wedding and my mom wanted a specific style however Sussana doesnt just copy from a picture or makes only what you asked for, she will actually tell you what would look better on you even if thats not what you actually pictured yourself in. My mom was very happy with her suggestion and she figured Sussana was correct, and the dress turned out to be great. If you need a great artist for your dress go to her, she will make sure you will look your best.

Susanna is very good taylor and honest one i been coming to her for 15 years love work she does where others wont even take she will do it she is awsome.

I first found Susanna through a co-worker. I used a previous tailor in SoHo and found it difficult to get there after I no longer worked in the city.Susanna fit my first pair of white slacks too perfection, right on par with my SoHo tailor. Unfortunately, after Superstorm Sandy I wasnt able to find her, until the summer is 2015. I havent been to another tailor since. I promise the quality of her work will not leave you disappointed.

Amazing Tailoring

I had ordered my dress online. It was ugly and was 2 size bigger from waist and 1 size bigger from hips. After reading reviews i went to susanna for alterations. I couldnt stop crying when i met her. I was not happy with my dress at all. I started checking gowns she had, fell in love eith one and immediately bought it. She saved my big day. She even altered the dress and it fitted me perfect. She is a wonderful woman with such a good heart. She was a blessing and saved the most memorable day of my life. I got my moms gown altered from her and her fitting was pefect. She is so talented and professional. If you are looking for a wedding gown or would like to alter your gown i highly recomend going to this beautiful person and you wont regret.
