I went to the Hingham store and was greeted by a very nice security man who directed me to Brian. Brian was extremely nice and very patient with a non computer person and took care of my problem in no time! He is a very sweet young man and obviously very knowledgeable! Came into the store aggrevated trying to replace my phone which was broken. I had insurance but was sent back and forth to sprint stores and Apple stores. No one seemed to be able to help me until Nikol came along. She was great. Got replacement phone and left very happy.

The gentleman who helped us buy 2 new iPhones was fantastic - Alan/Allen was his name… HOWEVER… 2 other employees were milling around by the front door staring pointing and commenting and laughing about my disability - I guess they didn’t think I noticed or heard them… 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Its a nice store but Apple does not use standard plugs. So I cant use my docking station, you have to buy Apples docking station. Really all plug ins shoukd be standard. Imagine if wall outlets were different in 50 states.

Wish I could just give no star. Andy Duane denied my legal request warranty. Apple products with valid warranty and no physical damage. He is asking for product ownership. But I lost the receipt and I called Apple and didn’t require for purchase receipt. Shame of you Andy.

Terrible absolutely terrible. The guy at check in wouldn’t let the tech support help look at my computer but insisted it should be sent off which can take 1-2 days. Being a college student I cannot give my computer away for them to run a computer diagnostic which I can do on my own.

TL;DR Unhelpful and condescending sales rep made simple query more painful than a tooth extraction.I had a tremendously awful experience with one of the representatives at this store.Full disclosure; I am not an Apple consumer. My grandmother needed a new case for her iPad and I thought the simplest way to ensure I get the right one would be to take the whole thing to the Apple store on Derby Street while I was there running other errands.Firstly, I was informed that my grandmothers iPad is an older model and, as such, they do not carry any suitable cases instore (no surprises here). So he suggested we order one online.He checked the online inventory and, of course, there is only one model compatible with this generation iPad. We ask if this case can stand up like the old one.Yes. He says. Its exactly the same as the one you have now.Okay, good.It just doesnt have a back.At this point we have this circular conversation where he says this new case is exactly the same as the old one and that is does not have a back seemingly unaware that he is contradicting himself. When we asked him to explain he answered in a most condescending manner that a back was what went on the side that wasnt the front.But is still stands up? I ask.Yes. Its exactly the same as the old case.Okay.I just doesnt have a back. and around we go again.Ultimately, I decided to gamble on this case despite not getting a satisfactory answer.Insult the customer until he gives you his money. A bold strategy that I admit paid off on this occasion.The only thing a regret more than not getting this sales reps name so I can shame him publicly was actually making a purchase. This man was the living embodiment of the condescending and openly hostile attitude Apple holds for their consumers.

Ok so I gave 4 stars because of how nice the store itself is, the layout of the store, & its appearance. But there are a few cons as well. They have THREE security guards in front of the store. So you wait in line to get in. Once youre in the store, you find yourself at a roped off little area, with you on one side, & the employees on the other. Well beyond 6 feet apart btw. With a mask on myself& the employee wearing a mask too, I literally could not hear a word he was saying to me. I had to basically yell back & forth with the employee, only to find out that they could not help me in the store. I ended up leaving there w/a 1-800 number to Apple. And had to go back home& wait on the phone for over an hour to get 2a representative on the phone. She did properly talk me through the process of resetting my entire ipad, but that took another good hour or more. DO NOT EXPECT ANY QUICK FIXES HERE PPL. THATS ALL.

The technician damaged my screen protector when changing out a broken screen that I paid to have replaced under warranty. When I asked him to replace the one they damaged, the manager refused and informed me that he can sell me a new one. No thank you.

We went to the Hingham Apple store this afternoon. The guard out front would not let us into the building. We were there to buy 2, Apple 6 watches. He told us you have to buy online and then pickup at the store. The whole reason for going is to look at and then decide which ones to buy. This is not due to COVID-19, there were only 3 or 4 customers in the store. You can shop in grocery stores and it’s OK, but you can’t shop at Apple or a bank. Open up folks, maybe I’ll go to Walmart instead.

I’m giving it three stars not because of anything else but the awkward service I received when trying to buy an Apple Watch. The lady who helped me found it quite difficult to understand what I was saying and I also found it hard to understand what she was saying as well. I walked away with a product I thought I asked for but it wasn’t. Returned it and got it online. Oh well.

In the midst of this pandemic my phone died while far away from my home Apple Store. I went to the store at Derby St Shops and received excellent service from Stefani... she did a wonderful job of explaining the features and prices of the newer phones and actually steered me to the lower price phone as that was closer to the phone I had... Great job, Stefani! Thank you so much... setting it up has been a challenge as I knew it would be but finally have gotten it done. Derby St store is fortunate to have such an excellent employee.

This store is completely unprofessional and unorganized. I went to purchase 2 iPhone 12’s and after waiting for 30 minutes already was told I could wait and see if someone could eventually help me but it’s doubtful. I got there around 6:45 and they close at 8pm. I understand they have protocols in place to ensure everyone’s safety during COVID and I appreciate that, as I’m sure others do, however several other stores maintain these same measure while also allowing customers to purchase their merchandise, all efficiently and without problems. When you first arrive to the Apple store there is a the first line which leads to a gentleman who will determine which next line you belong in. Upon telling him I was there to purchase two unlocked (no carrier so it’s a quick transaction) iPhone 12’s he directed me to another outside line and said he will find someone to help. After 30 mins of waiting and after watching him sell merchandise to a couple behind me he came out at told me there is no one that can help me today (45 mins remaining until they close) and that I should come back tomorrow, or I could continue to wait and see if someone has time. I asked him why he couldn’t do it and he just said because he can’t, I then asked if he had just helped people behind me with their transaction and all he said was yes I did. That’s when I left. Now I would understand his hesitation if I were rude or off putting from the beginning but I didn’t say a word I simply got in line and waited my turn. I wouldn’t even be upset if he had just mentioned in the beginning (before the 30 mins of waiting) that because of their COVID protocols he advises I make an appointment or purchase online but that I am welcome to wait and take my chance in the event someone can help me. At least then it would have been my own decision to waste 39 mins. It’s baffling that this store turns away a $2000 purchase that would have only taken a minute or two for no logical reason, again this man was capable of running the transaction as he stated and was not busy as I watched him just stand there but wouldn’t. The worst part is, it’s Apple, a bad review means nothing to them because their product is everywhere and it’s not like the threat of buying the iPhones elsewhere will affect change or impact the store in anyway as no matter where I buy the phones Apple will still profit, they will continue to abuse their customers for they have no incentive not to, they are simply bullies. This was going to be a Veterans Day gift to myself (the other for my wife) and they ruined it along with my love for Apple.

I would give this zero stars if I could. Worst place. They have the most inefficient system during the pandemic. Having people wait in line for over an hour and half after making an appointment is absolutely ridiculous. Every place have communication system in place to notify customers when they are ready. Apple is supposedly the leader in technology and yet they use the oldest system of waiting in line. Employees are not helpful in terms of having any explanation or offering any alternatives. Walmart and Texas Roadhouse has better systems at managing crowd. This is just sad.

Meh. Was told that we had a service appointment for my daughters phone at 3:30PM (we got there at 12:30PM), and that wed get a text about half an hour before. At 4:00PM, called, probably went to Apple corporate, on hold for half an hour (You call *that* jazz?), so I hung up and we took a ride. At 5:01PM, just as we were turning into Derby St., got the text....Not the best experience for what is supposed to be premium product.

I spend a lot of money at this location in particular and they constantly run late for formal appointments and have not been helpful in providing assistance for basics issues with products and warranties. Greg was AMAZING!!! Super helpful and had me in and out of there very quickly. My phone basically stopped working and he replaced it and set my new one up so fast! I had to catch a plane in a few hours and was freaking out that I wouldn’t have a phone. Thank you Greg!!!

This has always been my go-to Apple Store. I recently needed to get a part in my MacBook fixed, as the screen was glitching. I had been in contact with Apple multiple times before about this issue, but it never got resolved. Mary Ellen listened to my problem, took the time to figure out the best solution, and went above and beyond to make sure I not only got my MacBook fixed but that it was fixed in rapid time.I will continue to choose this store for all things Apple related.Thank you Mary Ellen for surpassing all expectations!

I thought that my phone was all messed up and I would have to have a new battery etc. etc., but Fred was able to walk me through a very patiently how to fix the situation. I went to apple to fix my iphone 7, I was lucky to get a great apple worker named Virgil who made my experience easy and stress free. I really liked how fast it took, and how he listened to my problems helped me, and gave me additional advice. I would highly recommend anyone to go there if need be.

Sad sad sad excuse for customer service. Had an appointment to get my screen repaired, drove over 2 hours from Cape Cod to hear oh, we dont have any replacement screens right now. These geniuses couldnt email/call me and let me know they couldnt fix my screen seeing as I had an appointment to get my screen repaired????!!!! Then they told me they could give me a whole new phone, great! Wait 20 minutes and hear oh, uh, we dont have any of your phone in stock right now. What kind of sad excuse for a business is this?!!! To top it all off the customer service was beyond rude, and did not care at all about my situation. I have a job which requires me to always have my cell phone, hence why I went all the way there to fix it instead of sending it in. Even after knowing that I require my phone for my job, the associate told me to send my phone in and Ill get it back within a week. Screw you apple, and your horribly rude employees. My family and I will never buy from you again. An android is looking very appealing right now, and Ill even have a port for my headphones!!! How brilliant!

Some of the staff are well versed in the products they’re selling and some of them have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about. I’d say it’s about a 50/50 split.One of my visits went like this:I went in there to see if they carried a Lightning HDMI adapter, but the staff member (Cannot recall his name) insisted that no such item exists. Another staff member intervened and was able to find the adapter I was looking for, so I was very grateful for him!

This store is literally the only reason I stay with Apple products. I always get prompt service, better treatment than I get with Apple phone support, and they go above and beyond. I had a just out of warranty phone break back in 2015 or 2016 and the authorized Apple dealer near me was no help. These guys were the closest official Apple Store at 1 hour away, but they replaced my phone for me! I refer them to anyone and buy more Apple stuff - watches, XRs, etc. knowing I won’t have a nightmare repair story with them nearby.

I’ve been buying from this store ever since I got my first iPod touch. They have many great employees that know what they are doing. Make sure that you make an appointment online first if you are getting your phone repaired because the store is always packed.

I’ve been to the same store twice with no resolution. The customer care tells me one thing the store a completely different thing. With every question I asked I received the same response. “Um, I’m not sure” I can never seem to get a straight answer out of any employee. I had the store manager called over to try and get an answer and her response was I’m not sure. She also is rude and condescending. Thanks for wasting many hours of my time I will never get back.

Waited an hour and a half for an appointment and another hour for a repair of my iPhone 8 screen. I was told it was not repairable after an hour. So 30 minute drive there and back a good waste of 3.5 hours. I was offered a replacement device for a ridiculous price. Went to a repair shop down the street and my phone was fixed in 15 minutes for less than half the price Apple was going to charge. More happy I can get my photos not saved on the cloud, even more disappointed with Apple.

Ive been going to this store for years and have never had a bad experience. They are VERY well staffed, but sometimes the number of customers they have to help results in there being a wait which I understand. The store is clean, well-stocked; the people are friendly, and Ive always found them very knowledgeable and helpful. I think that so far mostly the minority that have had a bad experience at this store are posting, so I wanted to counter those remarks with my great experience at this Apple store.

It was absolutely horrible. The guy didnt have a clue about any Apple product. He could barely even diagnose how to turn a computer on couldnt answer one simple question out of 50 it was just it was a complete total waste of time and effort then you pay $1,500 for a laptop and they want another 450 to fix it like right away thats just crazy I will never buy another Apple product for me or my entire family again Im trying to get this thing no stars but it wont let me so I guess I have to give it one.

This store has always been good for me. I understand that theyre ALWAYS busy. I mean, stores with awesome products, in a good location - are always busy.. I have always had to wait, but Ive never had to wait for very long.The last time I came in, it was for a battery recall service on an iPhone. I didnt have a genius appointment, but they took me anyway. They had me in/out of there in about an hour.

The staff and service at this store is as good as it gets, I asked them to install my screen saver and they did it without asking for a sales slip or any drama.My wife had bought them earlier and had them put one on her phone and it came out perfect.I have bought several products at this store and its always a great experience. The service is fast and friendly as expected and as soon as someone from the staff gets their attention on you. However, the store is smaller and the staff is not that numerous, and you will likely have to wait for another customer to finish and engage the salesperson yourself.By comparison, the Apple store at Boylston street in Boston has more employees who engage you as soon as you enter.On the plus side, this store is easily accessible by car, as it is located in a shopping area with a larger parking lot.

I just read the disparaging reviews on the Derby St. Apple store and had to come to their rescue! Ive visited the store over the last 4 or 5 years and only have had wonderful experiences. If you are the type who feels that the world should stop turning on its axis when you arrive, yes, you might be disappointed, as they can be busy. My experiences there have only mirrored Apples unparalleled paradigm in customer service: treat everyone like youd like to be treated, with respect, efficiency, friendliness and a focus on fixing their problem as quickly and as cost effective as possible.

They Suck!!!!When into the Apple Store in Hingham at 3pm today. Was asked to down load some photos to the cloud before getting a new phone. Started the down and was told be another employee not to start the download at the store takes too long. The download at all even started. The down load was finally done at 5:14.I was asking when the download was done to come straight to them and They would get me a new phone. I was told I was never put in the Q and would have to wait. After another hour I talked with. Another manager. Who said sorry, someone would be with u next. At 610 pm I left the store no new phone.

I must say I am very surprised at the number of poor reviews of this store.My experiences have always been very favorable. Ive had many occasions to use the Genius Bar and there is not one occasion that a Hingham Genius has been unable to sort out my problem.Once I had issues with a Microsoft application and the guy there devised a great workaround for me.Ive ought a lot of different Apple machines there and have always had great sales help, and never feel pushed into buying.

My husband and I were assisted by a man named Bill, yesterday, May 1, 2015. He was extremely courteous and knowledgeable, thorough as well as patient. We had no problem with changing out our new IPHONE 6 for a new one. We purchased the phone two months ago. It did not work right from the start with multiple threads coming in under one contact. Bill explained different scenarios of how this problem could have occurred. He suggested we rule out the hardware problem first for peace of mind. Then he explained in length how to set up my new phone we swapped out when we got home as it was backed up to my laptop. He also went at length to explain if the problem still occurred, how to trouble shoot it for a software problem. He took the protective cover off my old phone in one piece. Attached to a piece of paper and suggested we go to AT&T (where we originally purchased the phone) and explain the situation to receive a new, at no charge, protective lens. Which we did with no problem.Thanks Bill! Im sorry your store has had so many negative reviews. Our experience was awesome! You are a great asset to the company!! It was worth the hour ride up there!!!

I have very mixed feelings about my Apple experience. I went to trade in my old phone and upgrade to a new one. I went in without an appointment and was seen right away. Every employee was eager to help. Most of the people I worked with (I worked with A LOT), like Nicole, Matt, and Nick, were wonderful. They were very knowledgeable and made sure they did everything they could to help me and make sure I was satisfied. The main woman I worked with during my phone trade-in, Ann, was very sweet. However, she didnt wait until my iCloud photo library backed up all the way and didnt wait to erase my old phone until after my new one downloaded my backup. I lost a year and a half of photos from her mistake, including my wedding photos and photos of my puppy that is no longer with us, that I have no other copies of. I am CRUSHED. All in all, it was about 350 photos and videos that was lost due to her oversight. Ive been beating myself up over it for not being smart enough to double check the backup was done and ask her to wait. I can only think of the poor older customers that arent as knowledgeable as to what the employees are doing and wouldnt know to check the employees work either. In Apples defense, several employees rushed to my aid and tried everything we could think of to try and find all my photos, but they were lost. This one employees mistake has turned me off of this store forever, which is a shame because this is the only one in a 2 hour radius.

Spent $150 and waited a week to fix a cable for my display only to get it home and it still does not work. Then, I tried to call the store and cannot get anyone on the phone. I also tried to get help at the Braintree location and that place was a complete mess! They basically turned me away and said they couldnt talk to me because they were too busy. I then tried to call apple customer service again for help and they said they couldnt do anything but set up another appointment at the apple store. I went to the derby street mall for a scheduled appt with Apple to try and fix a problem with my I Pad. Almost 3 hours later my name was called. They spent about 8 mins with me. I walked out of there with I Pad still not working and left me with more questions than I had when I walked in. I guess thats a great reason why I dont buy apple products. The I Pad was a gift to me. I purchased an i pad one week ago and have nothing but trouble with it. That alone would be upsetting enough, but the great support service I told I would receive was and is a total insult.After waiting over 40 minutes which I did five times for help, every person I eventually spoke with did their damn est to sell me a two year apple extended warranty. When I explained that the product was guaranteed for a year, and I just wanted a few questions asked, they persisted. I made an appointment to meet a so called genius at the store, the nightmare only got worse. I had to wait an extra 30 minutes and when I FINALLYwas called, the genius was incredibly rude, and I was told he could only spend no more than ten minutes with me and threw a card at me with a web site to go to in order to schedule a visit to sit in on one of their classes to learn how to use the device.I thought best buy was a terrible place to get answers from, but this apple place has them beaten by far. After spending $420.00 for a product and being treated like crap, I will have NO further dealings with apple.The most amazing thing to me was that as I was waiting, everyone there in the store seemed to be grateful to be allowed to be in the place. apple (I use a small a on purpose as they do not deserve any respect when treating customers like trash)Purchase a tablet device and do not spend an outrageous amount of money to purchase a product for its brand.

Super painful experience at the store. I ordered three laptops online and came to pick them up. Arrived as instructed with order number, ID, and the credit card with which I purchased the laptops. Was subsequently treated like a criminal, it felt like check in with the TSA. I was even lectured by one employee who told me how I was doing everything wrong, and that I was “breaking the law” - alarmingly confusing Apple’s policies with the law. Finally found one very nice woman who was able to help me so that after more than a half hour I was able to walk out with my laptops. Not one person thanked me for doing $7500 worth of business with Apple - I was just handed the bags and sent on my way. Feeling punished for my long term (since the mid 80’s!) loyalty to this company.

My iphones screen shut off and wouldnt turn back on. The man who was helping me (Chris Zibelli) with my phone tried for over 30 minutes for any response from my phone. Nothing worked. After that a new phone was then taken from the back to be activated for me and for some reason that phone wasnt working either. He spent another 30-45 minutes trying to get the replacement to work. Which also didnt work. Which required another replacement which finally worked. I spent an hour and a half to 2 hours with this man and I have never been so satisfied with customer service in my entire life. He explained every step and what he was doing. I have never been to this apple location until last night and I will never visit another Apple Store again. This store is beyond professional.

Absolutely horrendous product and service. I tried to make an appointment online but I cant because you cant chat or leave a call-back number without first entering a serial number which I did but it would not accept it. Then I waited on the phone for 25 minutes before someone finally answered. I tried to make an appointment but they would not see me for 24 hours. Additionally, my new iphone stopped charging which is why I need to make an appointment to go see them. To top off the bad experience, the closest Apple store is one hour away. Lastly, I want to give them NO stars but you have to give them ONE star which they dont deserve. Good luck to the rest of you.

I dont like to write bad reviews but after the way I was treated by one of the managers at this store I feel like I have no other option to enact change on this stores behalf. I came in with my mac book charger that had frayed wiring and needed replacement due to poor craftsmanship fto making it rom apple. The people when I first came in were nice and help get me in the system ready to see a tech. Unfortunately the good service ended there. I asked for a replacement for my charger and wanted to buy a brand new 2nd charger as well. The tech told me a replacement charger would be $61 dollars even though there was bad craftsmanship from apple on it. I explained I have been a long time apple customer and advocate based on there higher quality products and have bought several apple products from a mac book to an ipad to three iphones for my family and just bought earpods for a $160 a week prior to this. Literally thousands of dollars spent with apple and wanted to continue to be an apple customer until this interaction. The manager said they would not replace the charger even though I explained I had been a long time customer and just bought earpods from this store a week prior to this interaction two days ago. The manager told me it was his personal decision and not apples not to replace my charger because was unfair to other customers? In what way is me spending thousands of dollars with apple and then asking them to honor their products unfair to other customers? I am working on getting in contact with the general manager of this store to see if they can remedy this situation and will update with what happens.
