Took the tour to Daufuskie. We took a ferry which was included in your price. Try to pick a nice day as not all seating covered. If you sit back by motors you cant hear what Captain is saying about the trip. We did not see any Dolphins going over but on the return trip we did, it is about a 45 minute boat ride. It is very scenic so pick a good spot. This boat may not have been the 1 in tour description. We ate lunch at Crab House. Seafood was delicious. We ate outside. You order & then they bring food to you. They did have a full bar. Sounds like when island life in full swing they have live music. We were so happy we took tour which was on a small bus with an excellent sound system. We made I believe 4 stops at various points on the island. History informative & we did have fun. Island pretty isolated from the mainland. There are 3 communities there plus some of the original Gullah homes & churches. You will get to see school, churches, light House, beaches, hear all about the oyster. Indigo crops & Gullah history. It was I believe $65 for tour with bus & guide including ferry. Our tour guide was excellent. You can get a paper map & rent a golf cart. Unfortunately on our ride on the ferry back it was raining pretty hard & a lot of people got wet & it was chilly. Bring a rain coat if rain in forecast. There was plenty of free parking where you got on ferry. There also were rest rooms. There are none on boat.

Reading some of the poor reviews, I don’t think they have the right group. The ferry is only certified for 34 people and there is nothing on the boat except chips and soda/water. They also left almost right on time but they also said they would wait about 10 minutes if a party was running a little late. The boat ride over and back, my son enjoyed that but I did as well, the captain and mate very knowledgeable about everything and informative. Ease of purchasing ferry tickets and a rental cart was easy but super quick to get our cart once on the island. We visited with them 10+ years ago and wasn’t sure if we would try it again but super easy! Wonderful to walk down nearly deserted beaches, would have been nice to visit the distillery though, thanks COVID-19! The black headed squirrels were a treat to see! We will be back! Thank you!

Really enjoyed boat and tour with Eddy on Daufuskie Island. It is obvious that he loves the island where he lives and works. Ed was so knowledgeable and informative about all the sites and made the tour interesting and fun!! He will gladly answer all your questions and even take a picture for you if you ask him for it. Staff at this company were friendly and everything went smoothly just as described,

Great island to visit for a afternoon, renting a golf cart is a must. Lot of people visit by boat and enjoy bar and music on the dock.

Top notch professional! EXTREMELY HELPFUL STAFF! My husband & I were married on Daufuskie this week & we arrived with 30 guests & TONS of luggage & wedding decor. Joanne & her crew were amazing! What seemed to be a impossible job was performed seamlessly by the staff here. All with a smile (& a little sweat ). We had other guests who used other companies throughout the week but the absolute best service received was from these guys. Make sure to call a week or so before & make reservations- especially for big groups & make sure to ask any questions you have because Joanne can answer them ALL!

My girlfriend who was attempting to book me a birthday getaway booked a cabin with these guys not knowing a big storm was coming & 100% chance of rain this weekend. She called, and called and finally got someone at 4:55pm & tried to cancel and spoke with a Kira who was adamant about their 48 hour policy. It is now 5:15 as I`m typing this to show it was within the 48 hours of Friday! She is refusing to cancel us and is charging us for a full day! I will NEVER use or promote them!!!!!! You would think locals would take care of locals better!

Always a blast going to Daufuskie on this ferry - especially when you get to hang out with the bands before and after their shows at Freeport Marina. Definitely rent a gold cart

Reviewing ferry from Savannah to Daufuskie. Have taken several trips. The ferry has never left even close to on time - usually runs 30 minutes late. When you have 12pm - 4pm on the island and dont actually get to the Island until almost 12:45, it is an issue. Customer service is definitely NOT a priority.

First time on island. The staff that books your tour is very nice but will hype you up for nothing to get you to pay. We DIDNT EVEN TAKE the right ferry to the island. The driver didn’t even introduce himself and didn’t tell us any facts like the girl at the d difference place had said they would. The bathrooms were locked. When we got to the island nobody said hello the girl at the general store wasn’t even talkative and didn’t tell us instructions. Everyone was disappointed about the wrong ferry because you’re paying like 50 something dollars for a historic tour. On top of that directions aren’t clear on map or signs on the island. Everybody was asking where to go and none of the places on the map were open if they were suppose to be. Don’t get excited about the farm either closes at 3pm. I’m sitting on a hanging swing waiting for our ferry disappointed. I either came on a bad day or this is a joke . Save your money everyone. Nobody on the ferry liked it not a single person could find anything.

Somewhat overpriced for the ferry. Took a golf cart tour of the island but didnt really have sufficient time to see everything if we wanted to have lunch. Might have been better to take the bus tour rather than a golf cart.

They canceled on my party of 140 people only 40 hours prior to the trip, and cited no discernible reason for this action. Now I am forced to try and book something for 140 people in less than 2 days, and I had planned this trip MONTHS in advance. Awful service, terrible people, spend your money elsewhere. I wish I had. As an owner of my own business, it saddens me to see places like this exist in 2019.

Nice tour boat called the Delta Lady. It’s a paddlewheeler with an inside bar. Trip to Freeport Marina on Daufuskie is beautiful and the Captain provides interesting historical and wildlife info. Easy to see dolphins on the way as well as pelicans. Golf Cart was included in the package and was great for exploring the island, which is laid back and a trip back in time. The beach on Daufuskie is awesome. You could spend the whole day there if you wear your suit. Probably the best place to visit on the island and spend some time is the Bloody Point Lighthouse at the south end. There is a museum and gift shop with a great 10 minute video on the history of the lighthouse, which must be seen to understand that the lighthouse was what they call a range light, i.e. it originally had 2 lights. FYI - the white house is the lighthouse, as there is no traditional tower. They also let you taste some scuppernong wine. The grounds include a new vineyard, 300 year old oak tree, cotton, indigo, Carolina gold rice, an eagles nest viewing area and a small gator in the lagoon named Papy. Something for everyone, couples and families. We also had the Daufuskie deviled crab at the Old Daufuskie Crab Co.[woman that makes it is an original Gullah] and tried the Scrap Iron drink and both were quite good. Plan to go back in a couple of months. Island has some high end areas and other areas with people just getting by, which is more the history of the island. If you like nature, a little history, and island and Gullah culture you will love Daufuskie, but if you’re looking for a Starbucks, etc... you should remain on Hilton Head. The crew and other tour folks were all very helpful and fun. Listened to beach music on the return trip while having a drink sitting on the bow of the boat. Very relaxing and a great day!
