Always an outstanding job by the staff. My Toyota RAV 4 was sitting beside a Jaguar, a Mercedes, and a few other top of the line cars. I got the platinum which is a one hour detailing service for less than $50 and it will exceed expectations every time.

Car wash was overpriced man up front gave us a weird vibe although he was nice. Lady got tire shine all over the side of my car it looks like it did when we brought it but overall great experience

I pulled in and asked the gentleman if there was a ride through option and he replies in a loud offensive voice “ no this isn’t, this is the finest way to wash your car”. I said that’s fine but I have some things in here that I don’t want to leave unattended and he said “ I guess you need to leave the same way you came in then and by the way you won’t find another car wash on the island”. Well,,, I just go out of Island Car wash with a very good wash. As a business owner myself, I would fire someone in a second with the attitude, pretty sure he is the owner as well according to the other people I have mentioned this to that have similar experiences.

First time customer to this auto-wash and this will be my last visit as well. Very poor customer service from the individual who yelled at me to pick up a “stick” to take to the receptionist as well from the receptionist herself. I understand that the job might be tiring; however, if better instructions are provided on what to do-the need for redirection may be eliminated. I will return to Island Car Wash for my future needs.

I was on the north end of the island and needed a wash so stopped in. Everyone is correct the old man is just nasty and the place is not that great. I will drive to the south end and go to Island Car wash no matter how long the line. This man just does not deserve my hard earned money. I dont need to hand over my money and be made to feel like I am inconveniencing somebody.

Facility is dated, but adequate, line personal works hard and efficiently. It is unfortunate that the owner/manager is unable to crack a smile or say hello, he must have been a marine drill instructor in his former life. I do not know how many customers he has lost because of that, but I am sure some prefers to drive several miles more for a bit warmer service. Running any business is challenging, running a service business more so. With a proper personality and a proper attitude, the current owner might have had sold it very profitably years ago, and be sailing the Bahamas today!

I’ve been using this auto wash for over nine years and I refuse to use any other car wash on Hilton Head or Bluffton. The lady who runs the register and services the cars is exceptional and has been there for years. All of the staff pays attention to detail, works extremely hard and keeps the cars flowing at a decent pace . My car is spotless after leaving this business and I love to get the Platinum wash, to me it’s worth it and The results last forever. One major point to me remaining loyal to Main Street is feeling like family and being comfortable here, not just a number.Just today I was here and when I got home I noticed a gold chain necklace tucked in the side of my car door that wasn’t there before. A few month prior my son lost his gold necklace and it must have fallen in my car and the ladies at Main Street found it and put it safely back in my car..He will be so happy to know after all this time that it’s been found, thank you.Its a wonderful feeling to know that I can trust this business and the lovely staff behind it .Thank you for all you do .

The old man at check is is gruff and not real friendly, but the ladies doing the detailing are AWESOME

Ridiculous prices when comparing to what you get at Island Car Wash. 25-30% more expensive for less. Even during Covid they wanted me to get out of my car and go into the office to pay. I drove away.

Great wash experience, with more hands on washing than a tradition drive through wash. The wash team is great, although the management can be a little grumpy sometimes. But not a big enough reason not to visit when you are on the island.

Agree with comments about owner. They also badly scratched our car. My wife and I know there was no scratch before the wash and a distinct one afterwards. Will never use again.

Definitely the car wash Nazi!! Everyone had a bowl of nails and razors for breakfast but they wash your car. It’s a car wash experience with a lot of attitude. I like going back just for fun🤣

The owner eats sour grapes and crab apples with every meal. Hes an arrogant, mean-spirited SOB. Hes just smart enough to hire nice ladies to work for him. Best car wash around

Excellent job on a very dirty truck! They were short handed the day I visited but took the extra time to use the pressure washer to make sure I was pleased with the work. Thank you.

The WORST place ever, the owner almost choked my kid with the window, and when I got off to check on him He kick me Out of the line, didn’t even say sorry or anything. Then he started yelling at my kid like it was his fault. He’s five and I had my windows down. He was getting ready to get off the car, but he put his head out the window. I’m so mad. He’s always rude but this time it was the worst. And like I said he didn’t even apologized.

Just drove in to Hilton Head through some nasty snowy weather and wanted to get the salt off my car. This place was recommended by the condo staff where I was staying, so thought I would give it a try. When I pulled in and stopped as instructed by the sign, no one approached for a bit but finally the owner (as I later discovered) approached. He seemed annoyed that I had disrupted the discussion he was having but asked what service I wanted. I said the exterior only and he suggested a higher level of service. When I said I just wanted the salt off he became agitated and said that would be all I got . I only wish that were the case. The service was very slow and it took almost 20 minutes to run my car through even though it was only 4 back in line. Once I paid, the woman at the register handed me the radio antenna from my car and said it had come off and immediately added that she would call the owner. I walked to my car and met that same man. He told me that the antenna should not have broken off and that it must have been defective saying that there was nothing he could do. He immediately turned and walked away ignoring me and offering no solution or compensation. I understand that these things happen and that they cant offer any guarantee but he certainly didnt have to be rude. I will certainly never go back and will be speaking to the condo staff in hopes that they no longer recommend this place.

Both times I have gone here the manager/owner was publicly rude to us and others. The wash is not special or anything I cant get elsewhere, so voting with my feet. I will spend my money at a competitor and suggest you do as well. Can get the same quality of work or better without rudeness to customers.This experience is so very different from the usual courteous and customer focused service at other Hilton Head businesses

The WORST! We saw what looked like a top notch car wash as we were exploring the island and although they were closed for the holiday, we made note of it to return another day. Today, we drove 20 minutes out of our way, only to be greeted by an extremely rude older man who told us the wait would be over an hour and then yelled at us when we told him we didnt have time to wait today. What kind of business treats customers this way? Dont waste your time to be treated poorly!

Clean car and friendly service. I pulled in, and this nice gentleman took me keys and had a couple of sugesetions for my car, one being to get my headlights clean. Without his advice I would never think to do that, and now they look beautiful and I can see so much better at night. Service did not take long, and there were plenty of staff to help make the process even faster. 10 minuted later, with my car washing and headlights cleaned I was able to leave! Fastest service I have encountered at a car wash. They do an excellent job, fast service, and very nice staff.

Needs more employees to attend to cars quicker. It took me an hour for a basic car wash on Saturday late morning.

I have been going here for over 10 years. They always did the best job and were so nice. I recently experienced the nastiest meanest old man I have ever met. He treated me like a piece of trash. I will never!!! go there again. He lost what was a great business a very loyal customer and anyone I told ever to go there.

I have had two incidents where things have gone wrong. Wanna address your concers with Stewart, the owner? Better be ready for a confrontation. He’s a grouchy old man who has a “my way or the highway” attitude. This time, I’m taking the highway. Good by Stewart!

These people are rude. They dont take the time to listen to what you want. Their attention to detail is lacking. They advertise that they are the best on the island. If this is the best on the island Im happy I dont live here. Customer service goes a long way. I doubt the owner will even read this review.

This car wash business, starting with the owner, is horrible!!! They are rude, crude, unfriendly, not customer oriented and darn right belligerent!!There service is NOT good! I bought the Gold service, which included tire clean. My car tires were not done until I brought it to there attention! They returned my suv to me, never said anything about a broken windshield wiper. When I went to drive off, I heard this awful sound, and found my windshield wiper broken! When it was brought to the owners attention he said his ladies told him it was broken when I came in, he loudly and crudely, said he believed his ladies and he wasnt going to do anything about it! He said, as he turned to walk away, I could call the police if I wanted to!NEVER experienced such a crude and rude owner!!! Will NEVER go there again, and never recommend it to anyone! Going to contact BBB an Tourism Industry regarding this business!

Very rude staff. Dont show up an hour before they close with a truck. Guy knocks on my window and says minimum 45 minutes, absolute minimum! I said what, dont you close in an hour? Im just saying you might wait and we not get to your car. As I pulled away, the Porsche behind me was escorted right into the wash and the driver walked to the waiting area.If youre driving a car the staff like, youll get service, no idea what kind of service since I was driving a Toyota Tacoma.

The old man you meet when you drop off the car is extremely rude. They dont offer half of What the advertise when busy. Quality of the wash on a 1 to 10 scale is a 5. The girls at the end are polite and work hard

This is in response to Bruce Haynes comments. He has never contacted us regarding any type of problem. We are sorry that he cannot find his envelope but can assure you that Main Street Auto Wash was not involved. We are constantly thanked by our customers for finding and returning items in their vehicles while we are cleaning them. Our average employee has been here for 7 years, not 7 weeks as in many car washes. No one at this car wash would take any valuable of any type from a vehicle because they understand it is absolutely the wrong thing to do and would be grounds for immediate dismissal at minimum. None of our employees would risk their job for $400.

The ripped the carpet trying to get the mats out. Also they are so so SOOOO rude.

One of the only automatic car washes on the island. A little pricey but it gets under the car and detailed inside for $23. The price is comparable to the same in Chicago.

I have taken my vehicle there about twice a month for forever. Today, I got my vehicle washed and they broke my antenna. When I asked the owner about it, he was extremely rude and said he is not responsible. I recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else.

When car came out of wash, upper windows still dirty along with one door. Also had a flat from snapping valve stem in the wash. My fault for leaving pressure sensor on, but owner told me to drive on a completely flat tire. Then when I asked for the sensor he told me no way he could find it and walked away. Unprofessional and disrespectful service.

Well I was pleasantly suprised with what I received based on what I paid for. I paid $21 for the Gold Service and I have got to say Ive paid as much as $75.00 other places and was not as satisfied with what Main Street Auto Wash did for me for that $21. I keep my car pretty clean but I suppose if it was a awful mess it would have cost me more to make it near spotless. I used to own a body shop and of course we had a detail shop. Im just saying I would not have been able to do what Main Street Auto Wash did for $21. I think it was one of the best values I have gotton on Hilton Head Island. Use them any time you can! Thanks! The man that I assume is the owner/manager was not only rude when I pulled up to select type of car wash I wanted the rudeness continued with customers on the inside. He was curt with caller on the phone and then refused to take payment from other customers making them wait on the she that will be in to take their money. NOT GOING BACK.

The staff of Main Street Auto Wash consistently does an excellent job making old dirty cars look brand new again. I was there yesterday and almost didnt recognize my car after they finished drying it - fantastic and reasonably priced.

My friend and I we going to get a car wash, on our way up to the line my friend did not think this was the type of car wash she was looking for. The man directing people where to go pointed for us to move up, my friend wanted to ask him a question and went to roll down her window and as she did the man working gave the most disgusting/annoyed/evil look, clapped his hands and then threw them into the air with anger. My friend then said no sir you do not need to act like and went to continue to ask him the question he then threw his hands up again just as before and actually walked away from what he was doing and went inside....we left and an hour later I called, I can only assume it was the same man who answered the phone and when I tried to ask him about talking to the owner he said that he was the owner and his name was Mr. Fox. I then tried to tell him about what happened and asked if it was him and he said probably not because he is not out there much. Then his next and exact words were you need to call back we have a hell of a line out there Which he just told me he does not go out there much?????? Then he said hello are you there, I lost you and hung up on me. I called back and he did the same thing and kept hanging up on me......the whole experience was absolutely unnecessary, uncalled for, and to be honest obnoxious. I will never go there again and I will never send anyone either.

Horrible car wash. I dont even think that the old tunnel put any soap on the car. They appear to soap the car outside and the soap is washed off before it ever hits the car tunnel.

1st time my car got the inside and out cleaned. We had 16 hrs of mud and grime from our drive from Michigan. Windows have never been so clean

The quality of the wash was terrible. The windows were not cleaned on the inside and the car was not dried completely. On top of that, they added a $3 charge for an SUV. My car, while technically an SUV, is actually smaller then most 2 door sedans!

Ive been going to this car wash for several years now and have never had a complaint.I moved to Bluffton and tried a car wash closer to me and it was a Horrible experience.So now every couple of weeks I drive the 30 mins from 170 in bluffton to main St auto wash on Hhi just to get the quality wash Ive come accustom to.The ladies working there are always smiling and work VERY hard!They bust their butts in the cold or blazing heat and always pay attention to DETAIL.I highly recommend this car wash!

I dont know how much money is owner has. He is rudist person, unfriendly and of course I go to another place because I dont want to give him any business but his staff is very nice.

I was in HIlton Head on vacation Oct. 5th - 11th and had my car cleaned on the morning of the 11th prior to driving back home. I was careless and left an envelope with $400 under my floor mat and didnt think about it until I was packing my car at the condo where I was staying. The envelope and money was no longer there and there is absolutely no doubt it was there before the carwash and interior clean. I had seen it within an hour of taking my car in to be cleaned. I know its impossible to know every low wage employee that comes thru but it sure screwed up the end of my trip. As far as the service itself goes I have always been very pleased with the work.
