It reminded me of when I went to the barber as a kid. Old fashioned place, talented barbers and great conversation. Jennifer is a pro who cut my hair at a previous place. So glad she is now working at Crown and Anchor! She is an awesome stylist and an even more awesome person as are the owner of the shop and the other barbers. I would recommend this place to any guy who wants the right cut every time. Such a plus to have your hair cut in this old school setting but with an edge and cut for every age customer.

JJ is the best! He has such an accommodating, professional, patient manner. My boys love getting their haircuts from JJ because he is so cool!! He does an excellent job. Go here!

I needed to try a new shop and happened onto the Crown and Anchor. Finally, the haircut that is right for me. Great barbers, highly recommended.

I have to say that this says a tremendous amount about the pride they take in their work and to the kind of people who work at Crown and Anchor. Im super picky about who cuts my hair. My hair does all sorts of strange things and my guy James not only is a great dude, but he hooks it up each and every time just right. True barbershop, good music, and everyone there is cool. The prices are super fair too. I would recommend any guy looking for a legit haircut/shave head over there. I moved from a big city with tons of solid options, these guys are as good, if not better. Do yourself a favor and just go there, you will be very pleased!!!

Joe is AWESOME and on point. My Barber was booked two weeks out and with my travel schedule I could not get in. Came down for a weekend getaway and needed a cut and beard trim. I am always nervous with new barbers. Joe had me at ease and building our relationship in the chair. If my 6 hour drive was just for the cut and beard trim it was well worth it!

As a shop owner myself, I have high expectations and these stellar men and women go over and beyond them every time I come into the shop. Hands down the best shop on the island and area. Ashley kills it and James and Joe are rad dudes. If anything, they should charge more because the cuts they give are more than worth it.

The woman cutting my hair should not have been working. She was clearly drunk. Smelled like coconut rum. When other employees asked her a question she was staring into space not answering them. Haircut was ok. She should not have a barber license she could seriously hurt someone with a blade

I went here once and was treated by James who cut my hair very well and exceeded my expectations, I had to get my haircut on time on a certain day but James was booked so I had to be treated by Jennifer. It was horrible. I told her what I wanted and she executed it horribly, shaved my hair too short and gave me a cowlick. Lost a customer due to Jennifer.

Pulled up 10 minutes before opening and a line was already forming. Turns out a lot of people think this place is great, turns out theyre not wrong.Barbers arrived right on time and were very friendly.In spite of the line both barbers clearly took their time to understand what each client was asking for and make sure it came out perfect.I got a haircut and beard trim from Ashley who carefully consulted with me before starting to find out exactly what I wanted then took her time and made sure everything came out great. Im definitely particular and I cant find a thing wrong with my hair or beard. Very happy and absolutely would return to Joes. (just dont get in a hurry because its clear this place stays busy)

Im a local from Spartanburg. Upper part of the state, on vacation just looking for a barber who can not mess my head up. I never got a name, but Im assuming James is the younger guy. Absolutely phenomenal job. Best straight razor low fade Ive ever received. Being a prior service member, I would recommend these guys to get you through two Monday formatuons back to back. Couldnt have asked for a better cut. Extremely pleased.

I’ve had 3 haircuts by James and each time he has given me exactly what I wanted and it’s the best fade I’ve ever had, James is also very professional and polite. You’re missing out if you don’t let this guy give you a haircut. 10/10 highly recommend!!! Best barber around!!!

The barber came in with what I think was a beer can. Could smell alcohol on his breath.And I seemed to be on an amusement ride as he was spinning me around in the chair based on whom he wanted to talk to.Was too intimidated to even ask for change.The second barber seemed professional enough.If you are a tourist I am sure you can find a more professional place.The one star is because the haircut itself came out alright.

If you go to Joes on Hilton Head Island you go to the right place. Joe knows mens haircuts and straight razor shaves. Always a pleasure to go. Joe is a good man and knows how to run a good business.
