My 5 year old laptop screen just went black. I dropped it off Sunday for a diagnostic and the problem was with the software. They promptly called me Monday and clearly explained the problem and the cost to fix it. It was ready Monday afternoon for pick up. Fast, efficient and fair company to deal with. I could not recommend this business more. For my sons birthday we wanted to upgrade his gaming computer. We went in expecting to have to replace the graphics card and/or processor (starting at +$300). These guys spend A LOT of time researching and actually playing the games hes been having problems with, and called multiple times to make sure they were checking for the correct problems. They decided that our expensive solution would only give us limited improvement, and instead suggested that we just add more RAM (a fraction of the price). It worked like a charm. Dennis, who does most of the repairs, is the best computer technician I have EVER consulted and dealt with in over 30 years of computer use and dependence: he is excellent in every respect -- knowledge, ability, explanations, and patience. I found Cyber Knight when I was looking for a place to fix-up my two year old desktop. I literally typed in local computer shop into my phone. and this was the first place that showed up. What drew my attention was the number of excellent reviews. I had a hunch that I would be much better off here than in a place like Best Buy so I went in and brought My computer to one of the techs. We had my issue figured out in twenty minutes.The next day I talked to Mike about getting a new motherboard and processor that could go along with my graphics cards. Showed up around opening time and was kindly greeted by Dennis. I had a question about why my Macbook Pro 13 2017 (non touch bar) was not recognizing the battery, when all I replaced was the screen. He carefully looked at the laptop and demonstrated how to disconnect and reconnect the battery wire to the logic board. After about 30 seconds, the laptop immediately turned on and the battery was recognized again! Despite it being so early, Dennis was still very friendly and patient making the whole process quick and easy. I was very pleased with the service I was provided and will definitely be going back. I just bought my second computer and I would never go anywhere else.Sometimes prices are deceiving. Fantastic service from A to Z. I had Blue Screen of Death when I turned on my computer. So: (1) Telephoned, and got all details I needed, cost of diagnostics, likely time for service, store hours. (2) Delivered computer, and more information (diagnostic testing would be very thorough, and could take 4 hours). Got a call ~ 4 h later, problem explained, and fixing would take about 1-1.5 h. (3) Picked up computer. (4) Fee very reasonable. (5) Greatly appreciate the *thorough* diagnostics.

I had an unfortunate incident of dropping my laptop, on which I basically run my business, a few months ago. It wouldnt turn on and had a nice dent on it. I was in tears, worried about the cost of purchasing a new laptop AND worried about retrieving the data/work I had saved on the laptop. I went to Cyber Knight - hoping to meet Owner Mike B. However, Mike was not in. The staff member who greeted me (sorry - cant remember his name) was VERY professional. First tried to relax me (was so upset and stressed). He then managed to turn it on and did a diagnostics test. He fixed everything that was needed and even fixed the dent. He was honest and very helpful. Offered that if the dent was looking bothersome (since it was a new laptop) would be smart to buy a new faceplate. I was very appreciative. The staff there genuinely cares! I shopped for computer components online and these guys put it together for me. Building a computer is pretty simple but there are nuances like air flow, cable management, and storage drive placement - after picking up I can see some considerable thought was put into piecing it together.Cable management is tricky for new builders, but these guys have it clean or organized. They were familiar with all the components I gave them and seemed up to date with enthusiast parts. Which is pretty amazing because I think a majority of their clients come to them with software issues and hardware issues, it probably was a treat to build something fairly high end.When you walk in its an open environment that is welcoming when you come in and you are at the counter you can even see their work area, seeing their work area seemed to give me some assurance in these guys. Its one owner and a few young males, probably college students in the area. They were all professional when talking to them, really helpful, and looked to have an interest in whatever computer you bring into their store.

Laptop repairing skill just bad, couldnt find the problem on my motherboard. I checked the problem on my laptop and found my motherboard is in malfunction, other things works perfectly fine. I was hoping they can find out problems on my motherboard like BIOS chip fail so they can replace a new chip on it...unfortunately..... When they return my laptop, they tell exactly what told them before, and they tell me i need to replace a motherboard.....ok, i mean, so i just dumped 60 bucks diagnostic fee into water.......so if you dont know anything about hardware or software of your PC, this is a good place to go, but actually their level is alike amateursBTW, what i mean bad, one of your staffs tell me we find the motherboard is not working, everything works but we cannot test the *screen* since the motherboard doesnt work..... I mean...what?! Why cannot test the screen? It is just a 54 pins LCD screen, just pull it out to any motherboard with 54 pin or equipment with that port to test it! I think these kind of equipment is so basic to repair and test, more professional repairing shop usually capable to do BGA :/ this is why I say bad.

I brought my computer to Cyber Knight after having accidentally taking it to another computer repair place (Linx 8, on the same street in Highland Park) where I got it back in worse shape than it was in originally. Linx 8 replaced my LCD cable because my screens display was broken, but when they gave it back to me, my computer would no longer start up, though it had been working fine when I brought it in. When I brought it back to them, they refused to take responsibility, and told me that my hard drive was totally non-functional and would need to be replaced. Not wanting to deal with their service anymore, I brought it to Cyber Knight, and they were extremely helpful! They did a full diagnostic, determined that the only problem was that Windows was corrupted, and even managed to recover all my data (even though Linx 8 told me that would be impossible). The owner, Mike, was extremely understanding and helpful, they were prompt in diagnosing and informing me of my options, and my computer is working better than it ever has. I would definitely recommend their services. Just make sure that you go to the right place and dont make the same mistake I did! I was very impressed with the customer service that came from this company. My boyfriend and I spoke to mike the owner and he was amazing. The Place is set up with a great amount of comfortability, theres even a fireplace. I liked the fact that i felt comfortable at a place where i was getting my computer repaired. As a rutgers alumni the owner was very nice and excited about the common things we had in commonn to where we talked laughed and off the strength of my commonality he spoke with my boyfriend about business. There service was great, the environment was supererb and the actual fixing of his computer was at a decent price to where we were able to get it done quickly. I love them!
