Honestly, I dont even know how to explain our experience, what its done for us, what it stopped, or how grateful I am for the staff at BB Piedmont Triad. When I called, I was heartbroken, skeptical, untrusting, and absolutely desperate for someone to help us and our 6 yr old daughter. We had been told by Specialists she was autistic (Aspergers). She was very echolalic, could not maintain eye contact, very hyperactive, yet sweet and loving. She couldnt fall or stay asleep, looked exhausted all the time, and had little to no fine motor skills. She hated swings, couldnt run, hopped/skipped instead of walked, fell down a lot, had low muscle tone, and a whole other set of delays. We had tried other expensive treatments, including those through early intervention Public School programs, like Speech Therapy (TOTAL WASTE of money and precious time), Occupational Therapy and other brain integration programs - all of which left us with little to no results after spending hours everyday and so much money. Then we found Brain Balance. I called and they listened. They finished my sentences, and I knew they understood. So we came in, went through an assessment, Jake EXPLAINED what was going on inside my sweet girls brain and what she was experiencing, and told us why and what we could do together to help her. So we began the in-center treatments. Overall, we were there for eight months with Brain Balance. During our time with them, we followed the Program to the letter. (To me, there was no other choice - my daughters health is worth a season of daily exercises and healthy restrictions - bad food, TV, etc.) Jake, Carlos, and every other staff member walked us through every step, answering all of my 10,000 questions and concerns. Today, my daughter is 7, she is happy, lively, smart, loves swings, can look anyone in the eye and make them smile because she LOVES people. She can sleep, too! She has made friends (never a possibility before BB). She is not on any medication. I will always be thankful for the love and support and hard work they invested into my daughter (and my whole tired and heartbroken family!). Do yourself and your child a huge service and check them out! Every other family who was there during our time saw amazing results, too. I tell as many people as I can about BB. I am just so very thankful!!!
I am beyond thankful to Brain Balance of The Piedmont Triad. Jake, you and your team changed our lives. We didnt know where to turn with my nephew, but I am so thankful that we found yall. You were the first to listen and actually understand why he was having so much difficulty. You actually gave him a chance to be able to show who he is as a person and not just be seen for his behavior. You have been true partner with us on Matthews journey. He has made so much progress and we are so excited for all the continued growth he will have because of Brain Balance. Our family truly thanks you!!
Providing our child with the Brain Balance program has been one of the best decisions we could have ever made. Not only has he made significant progress in multiple areas but he was embraced by the most wonderful team of human beings. His Brain Balance Center became one of his happiest places. Our child, 4 years old on the spectrum, started this journey in June with the home exercises. The director made this decision to prepare him for in-center treatment and to “hit the ground running”. Soon after that we started taking him to the Brain Balance Center. Only one month after he started this program we began noticing amazing changes. Our child became more aware of his surroundings, he began holding conversations, and recognizing his own feelings. Later on he has continued to grow in confidence and social interaction. He goes around making friends and appropriately socializing with peers. This was a direct contrast from before when he would avoid interactions frequently. His body control and strength have increased tremendously. At the beginning of the program he was not interested in any sports. Now he likes kicking a soccer ball, he asks his dad about baseball and tennis, and also he started riding a scooter with confidence. We are ending the program with a stronger, more confident child. As any other improvement program it requires time and commitment from both the development center and caregivers. Magic does not happen without hard work and discipline from every adult involved in the process. If done right, at the end it is all worth it. We highly recommend Brain Balance Piedmont Triad Center. The team who served our child went above and beyond to make him feel loved and welcomed. Seeing his smiling face and hop in his step when we arrived at the center 3 times a week was incredible. The warm greeting at the door, the constant encouragement, the reward system, and the nurturing environment all played an essential role in our son’s development . We are very thankful for this process and for the amazing results.
Our son is 7 years old and has been in the program for almost 4 months. So far we have seen physical and mental improvements. His ability to communicate has greatly improved. He is now much more independent and is open to trying new things. The staff has gone above and beyond to accommodate my son. They have visited my sons school to talk to the teachers and therapists, and have made themselves available for questions from any other service staff that may be involved with my son. I have not seen this level of service from any other facility that has serviced my son. The Brain Balance staff have been a God sent for my us. We can sincerely say that our quality of life has improved. The only challenge with the program is that its not covered by insurance, but if you divide the total cost by the number of visits and service you will find that the cost is actually less than what is charged by a local therapist. They do offer a loan option, but you may be able to find better rates at your local bank. I have also heard of families that use gofundme to help them with the cost. Even though this may be a challenge, I believe that the benefits are well worth it.Overall we are very happy with the results that we have gotten so far. The one advise that I have for anyone thats deciding to register for the program is to take advantage of everything that it has to offer. Get to know the staff and work with them to help your child improve. They can offer the tools, but it is definitely a team effort. There is a lot to do at home too so be prepared to work with your child. Most importantly have fun.
My family and I are extremely grateful for our experience at Brain Balance of the Piedmont Triad. My little brother struggled with body awareness and body control. He always wanted to play baseball but he did not have the coordination. He would come home upset that he was unable to play like his friends and ended up quitting. Luckily, my parents enrolled him in Brain Balance of the Piedmont Triad and we saw huge improvements. His overall confidence and self esteem increased. After lots of hard work he was eventually able to play baseball again and participate in more activities with his friends. Thank you!
The team at Brain Balance is extremely Professional and patient as they work with the teens and kids that come in for their sessions. One child that I use to babysit had a horrible time communicating. He would get in the car and sit in silence, but after his time in the program he begin asking me how my day had been and actually having conversations with me. I have seen multiple kids improve their social skills while attending the program and I would highly recommend you give the guys and girls at Brain Balance a chance.
Brain Balance changed our whole family’s lives. Our daughter was struggling in school and on several medications for several years. We were falling apart dealing with meltdowns and explosive behaviors over the smallest things. Getting through each day at school was a struggle. We had seen many specialists and doctors over the years and none of them even pretended to understand our situation the way that the people at BB really do understand. They were able to not only help us figure out what was going on, but they also gave us the proper guidance to fix things. And it worked! Our daughter is the same witty, charming character she’s always been but now she’s not struggling through every day. She’s happy! We’re all so grateful for what Brain Balance has done for our family. Jake, thank you so much to you and your staff for the dedication you gave our girl and our family. Yall are truly amazing!
These people are charlatans! Out for only getting your money. Your best bet is to go to your doctor and get an occupational therapy referral. This company says its backed by a doctor, and a doctor came up with this idea but is not doctor ordered like occupational therapy. Occupational therapy is covered by insurance, brain balance is not. They want you to pay out-of-pocket for something that is not back to buy your insurance, or your medical doctor. They are unable to see patients that have any medical involvement due to the fact that the providers are not trained medical professionals. In no way should you be shelling out the kind of money that this company wants, when they have no way of medically intervening should something happen to your child. Occupational therapy is backed by your doctors, backed by science, and backed by medical studies as well as intervention. Occupational therapy providers can medically intervene if necessary. Seriously. Avoid risking youre child and bank account!
This was an interesting experience for our family. I had heard such great things about this program specific to a different location not this one. A year ago a tried scheduling the initial evaluation for our son at the time 3 and in the Spectrum. Everything was great up until when I arrived and was turned away because he wasn’t 4 yet, why not ask that on the phone and not let me miss half day of work? Fast forward to 11 months later and I get a call saying they can see him now even thou he still isn’t four. I was excited. Scheduled initial evaluation which was almost $300.00 out of pocket (they can’t process nor accept insurance), ok no problem. The director I believe, was nice and somewhat knowledgeable, spent about an hour with him talking about different thing of the brain but they never tell you really what the therapy is until after evaluation is done and you go back for results which basically and after receiving them it can be determined by a simple google search test to be honest. Then he tells me what the therapy was, using headphones, earplugs, glasses... all things most typical children at that age hate especially children in the spectrum! Which they knew he was. Therapy for a few months is nearly 7k again out of pocket. I feel they took advantage and they knew a child this young is probably not their best client yet they got me. So disappointed. Best wait until 7+ years of age, don’t waste your money here.
This center is so terrific. The staff and facility is so amazing! I spent so much time here taking my little brother and the bonds we both made with the staff is one we will never forget. The help that they gave my little brother has been everything my family and I had hoped for! Our relationship is stronger than ever and I all the thanks to Brain Balance of the Piedmont Triad!
