Too starkly decorated for my tastes. Looks more like a high school gym than a church. However, the people are nice and the services are decent.

I LOVE my Catholic faith and all of what Our Lord has afforded me in prayer and thanksgiving daily, moment by moment.

I love how big the church is inside.

Open, airy modern architecture with seating in the round. Large parking lot and welcoming lounge area. Neat outdoor Stations of the Cross.

Could be a little more warm and welcoming but hey its the edge of the cities and everyone knows everyone else so thats what you get. The music has significantly improved with the introduction of better pianists. Daily mass homilies are on point but weekend/bigger mass ones could use a little focusing in on. Overall great place to go to mass and help make your community a better place!

Im not a parishioner of this church, but due to funerals and family members who do worship here, I find myself at this church quite a bit.The church is well appointed, with adequate facilities for small to large funerals. The church has beautiful religious statuary, and the glow inside and out in the winter is simply breathtaking! The parking lot is well kept, even in the winter, and there are two entrances to the lot and building.There are two pokestops and a gym for those playing Pokemon Go.Where this church really shines is their historic support of the community, both passively and actively. There isnt a weekend where you will not find someone teaching a child to ride a bike, or a parent teaching a child to drive. You will see motorcycle riders practicing for their exams, or gaining confidence in slow speed maneuvers.There are occasionally kids teaching other kids how to ride a skateboard, and even the occasional hoverboard!People of all ages sit on the bench near the statuary to pray, or simply to rest their feet for a short period of time.During services there is a childcare room. During funerals more than a few times Ive personally witnessed, members of the church have escorted families, newly nursing mothers, or caretakers of infants to places to care for the needs of the little ones.They have a robust network of support for those who appreciate the church support sytems. If you have elderly family members or young children, this is one of the best congregations Ive seen for helping.This is not a good choice for a congregation if you are LGBTQ+. While I have witnessed their friendliness to many people, Ive not shared in that sense of welcome since the changeover in priests a few years ago. Additionally, some families and younger adults may not find this church to be a good fit, especially if you are newer to Hastings. There is a very strong sense of historical lineage to the Catholic churchs of Hastings taking a certain level of importance to some.If you are considering joining a church, go a few times and see if it is a good fit. If it is not and you are open to trying other options in Hastings, try St Lukes (Episcopalian), St Phillips (Lutheran), or Resurrection United (Methodist). If you are LGBTQ+, go to St Lukes, as they are the most friendly and open of the churches in Hastings.But if you are Catholic, and you need a spiritual home in Hastings, this is a great church. If you are from out of town and simply looking to visit a church for a service or simply to pray, this is a beautiful church to fit your needs.Please keep in mind Im simply an outside observer who has attended about a dozen worship services here over the past 6 years, but ends up here for one reason or another 15-30 times a year. Your mileage will vary.
