Do not look to Penske if youre looking for reliable recurring truck rentals for your business. We had an appalling customer service experience at Penske Hartford. They are unreliable and cannot be counted on to fulfill our business needs. When calling, the staff are unfriendly and seem eager to get off the phone as fast as possible. We relied on their check in/check out email receipts to verify transactions, but the sending of those emails was inconsistent requiring us to have to call after every rental. They overcharged us twice out of our six rentals with them. When making a reservation where the staff couldnt confirm the availability of truck, they would assure us theyd call back to confirm. They never ONCE called back.

Great people and overall experience, including a very nice 16 box truck. We called them last minute, after being screwed over by Budget. Will definitely call them first, if we need to rent again in the future.

This location is very unprofessional. The rental agents there dont know how to do their jobs. We had a truck scheduled for pickup for 5pm. Spoke to someone over the phone prior letting them know we will be coming later than 5pm. On the day of pickup, when we got there, the office was closed and the service guys were not informed about a late pickup. They had no access to see reservations but called the manager for the rental who said we had to wait for when they opened at 7a, the next day. I also called customer service who did a poor job trying to find another location (I was able to find another location on my own in the the same state). I was on a very tight schedule and wasted hours trying to get the truck I reserved weeks ago which I never got. I got a courtesy call the day AFTER from penske and was asked if I was still coming to get the truck. Long story short, PENSKE lost my business and UHAUL got it.

I had to return a small box truck with a coworker. Everything went smoothly and the technicians there seem to take very good care of the vehicles from what I could see.

I am absolutely blown away by how amazing the customer service I received from Josh Goodrich (Hartford Area) was. He addressed my requests within minutes of being on the phone and literally left me speechless with how accommodating he was. I would recommend his service to anyone and everyone.

Fuel handlers and mechanics are all stellar, absolutely great. However, management at nights is absolutely atrocious. Good luck getting repairs, always an excuse or a song and a dance you must do to even get the most mundane of repairs done. Not like the company I was working for pays Penske hundreds of thousands of dollars on fleet vehicles per year...horrible horrible horrible prevention maintenance done too, virtually nonexistent. Management at Penske nationwide is horrible.

Needed a small straight trk for local delivery for 2 hours. Still couldnt leave my tractor trailer in their lot for 2 hours. I own R&L Trans. We do a lot of rentals through Trans Advantage. This particular agent will NO LONGER be getting business from any of my drivers!

I use Penske fueling station. Ive gone to this one 4 times and received so-so customer service everytime. The employees all seem like they dont want to be there. You can hear in the way they speak to you and in how they treat you. I make it a habit now to go to the East Windsor Penske. They provide much better customer service.

Why would anyone rent from U-Haul when Penske has greart rates and spectacular service, ther customer service on the phone and in the Hartford location second to none. Thanks Mike best sales representative I have encountered in some time. Ayfkm😂

Went in to see about getting some repairs done, spoke with Devon (who had no clue what he was talking about) then met Darren and decided to take my business elsewhere. The girl in the office Jocelyn was to busy staring at her phone to notice us. When they finally spoke it appeared as though all they wanted to do in the office was flirt with a glass tech that frankly reminded me of a inmate. No way is anyone touching my trucks here

UNREAL BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Ive been renting trucks from them for several years now and this is the second time that i check back into my bills and realized they doubled the daily rate and price per mile. When i talked to the manager this time he basically told me it was my issue and compared it to buying something at walmart.... sorry but i dont just go up on my clients bills without letting them know!

The employees were very friendly and helpful. They were able to help us with our last minute request.

Was told they had a truck for me. Showed up the same time as the truck. It had a code and put it out of service. I called Penske rental and they wanted me to try and get an Uber for a 2.5 hour trip to NewYork and pick up a truck!! And they Won’t reimburse me for the Uber ride from the West Haven Penske “they did say they would get a truck then said no when my driver got to West Haven” to Hartford.
