This is the worst shelter I had ever been too !! My family if five went to this shelter . The church would come bring Sunday lunch to us and told us we could eat the leftovers latter or the next day . Next thing you no we all watched the workers take all the left over food and put it into there car ! Ice cream was donated for the kids none of the kids got any of it and it disappeared. I was sopose to have help receiving section 8 thru them was told by Sara that we did not qualify! For two yrs we lived in the north North end with a big whole in our ceiling and Sara did nothing at all about it.then just gave the landlord our security they gave to us. We went through court lived like animals and they gave up our security for no reason .Dont donate to this place they just throw your money away . Needless to say here it is two yrs latter and I got a call saying u got section 8 and sorry we had your number mixed up you should of had this when u were at the shekshe they said . They put my children thru alot of unecessary stress and moving from one place to another and treated like dogs . I would call someone to advocate for me or call the news but it gets you no where . Thats not even part of what this shelter put my family thru. We had one hour to leave because of hear say !! We had no where at all to go . But due to a few people not liking us because we wouldnt keep handing out our stuff we bought they said we did something we didnt so and was told to leave in one hour .I had to loose all our stuff the employees stole our belongings in the process our family ended up separated and we didnt even have to go through any of that if they gave us the section 8 we should of had at the beginning. Everyone else was getting it but we did not .I cant stress enough do not go to this shelter please ! As of right now theres an employee that took home olive garden that was bought for the shelter well my family member works at this employees second job and sure enough she was nice enough to bring all her friends olive ggarden !!!!! They take Christmas gifts and treat everyone so poorly like animals. The state needs to go back in there and do something about this place. The big ppl came from new new talked to us all while the employees went home for the night n next thing u no the director and a staff member got fired ! Never food in the fridge the food is raw inside and burnt in the outside and they still serve it or u go hungry. If anyone can help me with all of this mess please leave a review

If I could give a rating of zero stars I would. The staff was unkind and had too much attitude. Falsly accusing a family of something they hadn’t done forcing a mother her five year old daughter and year and a half old son to the streets. After a letter was written on there behalf, of what Salvation Army Flasly claimed Mabel STILL refused to give there room back. And this was after Salvation Army had to close its doors to the shelters and pay for rooms at the comfort inn for the homeless! Seems as though the less rooms they had to pay for, the more money they could save. There intentions weren’t very pleasant. I even went to speak to Mabel personally, and when asked in regards to what she snoughed and gave attitude. ZERO HELP!!! And very unprofessional

Sorry for your inconvinience but if you had called first you would had know that the shelter does not accept walk ins and another thing is a shlter for families and children. thats including single mothers with children, single males with children, wife and husband. and i dont believe they didnt give you another place to call. You first stated your HUSBAND so why is he homeless? Yes is not my bussiness but for you to say something negative about the place were i stayed and had a good experience with the couselors and all staff. Get your info right before you judge a place that really help families go forward.
