The people who work here are so nice and helpful. The facilities are in dire need up upgrading. Feels like a 1980s middle school. Every time I go there is something not working or closed. Never is everything all up and running. The pools were closed for almost a month. The only reason I go. No discount or anything. They said it was for cleaning but other people who worked there said it was because parts needed to be ordered. You order the parts then when they arrive you do the upgrade. But the one thing that is ALWAYS WORKING is the computer that takes the fees out of your bank account every month.
Reason for only 4 Stars, There is ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT SOMEWHERE.We have both Granddaughters (7&10) in swim classes. Very HAPPY with results. Great Staff, Clean Facility, Friendly Members.ALSO, THANK YOU FOR THE REDISPLAYING OF OUR AMERICAN FLAG IN THE WARM WATER POOL AREA.BLUE STAR FIELD ALWAYS IN THE UPPER LEFT POSITION.🇺🇸👍
The gymnastics director is caring, compassionate, and respectful no matter where you are from. Every childs future is important to her and will help your child get there. My children love the Hanover gymnastics program and I WOULD recommend it to everyone.
Very nice facility and people too! So much to do and so many classes available for all ages.
From what I have observed, facilities always clean and appear to be well run.
Great introduction from the girls at the front desk, very helpful and gave me a tour. The facilities were very clean and up to date, pools looked clean. 10 out of 10 overall. Im sure going to love being in the warm water pool.
Just joined through the Silver Sneakers program. Looking forward to feeling better.
Tammy Shore at Hanover YMCA was who I was directed to yesterday. After paying $32 dollars to Get into the Littlestown Pool Got there around 12:45pm was there 20 minutes, Thunder started got out of the pool 30 minutes later pouring down raining pool was closing I asked for a pass for Another day was told by Tammy Shore No we cant give refunds. I said thats fine Can u give us a pass for another day My Grandson and his friend was very disappointed and my daughter and Myself was as well . The weather said 50% chance of rain at 4pm so we thought fine, well it changed Just so u know if the weather changes your not getting a pass for another day whether your there5 minutes or 30 minutes just to let u know. Thanks for NothingTammy Shore from YMCA 😐
Good selection of workout/fitness equipment, indoor track, classes, basketball, racquetball, pools
Son went to Splash Week day camp. Every other day swam in pool for 20 mins, watched movies and some basketball time. Had to encourage him to keep going after day 2, even with staying home most if the summer because of covid he wouldve rather been home than there. After paying full price of $170 for the week, although most of the activities were eliminated (field trips) it was still full price. Mostly this is not a camp, it is a daycare. My child and 3 other friends signed up for splash week and all were disappointed! Also never got a camp shirt that was supposed to be given out! For a business that is needing money right now, you would think they would try to impress potential members instead of chase them off. Highly disappointed and a high waste of money!!
Great facilities and better customer service throughout. From the front desk to the handyman, everyone is very friendly and helpful. The equipment and the available programs are plentiful and well kept. I was only there as a visitor but during my time I felt like I was welcomed as one of the community members.
Excellent facilities. The gymnastics program is amazing for recreation or competitive team. All boys and girls are welcome. The main YMCA complex has 2 pools, a fitness center with free weights, machines, and plenty of cardio equipment in a very large, well lit area. The YMCA offers swim lessons, fitness classes of all kinds, soccer programs, and much more. There is a full court for basketball, raquet ball, walking/running track, sauna, whirlpool, and steam room. If getting child care is a concern while you work out, ask about the child watch program.I highly recommend taking a guided tour of the complex.
I think the YMCA needs to review the attention given to its customers .. the front desk staff are always very attentive but it does not seem to work like this internally .. about 5 months ago I wrote a complaint about an annoying noise coming from the air conditioning in the yoga room and nobody fixed it till today .. I signed up for personal class, the person who I talked to besides not grasping what kind of service I really expect to have, made me waste money attending to a personal class when the personal was not even aware about what kind of service I came to.. not enough they send me a thank-you card full of erasures. This really sound “I don’t care about u customer..” to not say something else.
My daughter spent 1.5 years in the gymnastics program. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROGRAM TO ANYONE. The director of the program bullies the children AND the staff. The coaches told my 9 year old daughter, and her teammates, not to tell their parents how they were being treated as they feared they would lose their jobs. I witnessed yelling and bullying by older and younger coaches. Please do not waste your money on this program, find a program that will ENCOURAGE your children. This program is ABUSIVE.
Should of put the fans on this evening
Nice fitness center and they have a lot to offer, but the basketball gym need upgrades. It get so hot in the basketball gym in the summer because their is no air conditioning, and no way to even let outside air in. The rest of the facility is in better shape, but I feel that adding AC would benefit the people who play basketball in the summer.
For facility membership gets taken out of my checkbook every month but they do not offer a full facility membership anymore you cannot contact them after 4 PM to discuss
Just started the preschool and after school care for my two children here and love it. Employees are friendly and great with kids. The food provided to my preschooler are healthy and change every day. Well organized and clean.
Great, safe, fun.
I take the kids I babysit to the pool and they have a membership here. Every time we have went, there has been camps here and they tell “my kids” they have to get out. I don’t see anywhere where it says they have to get out when camps are here. Also, when the camps are here the counselors are very unsafe and try to push each other in the pool. There are kids all over the place jumping in almost on top of each other and no one says anything. I think it’s very unsafe and I think it is rude that “my kids” have to get out when the camp comes even when they pay to come here to swim. Some of the life guards are nice and they are safe, other ones are kind of snippy. I recommend if you come here to swim, make sure there is no camps.
Hours are very limited on weekends. Its a shame
Very expensive place to be. Sat and watched gymnastics classes on many occasions and noticed girls in pre-teen groups being berated and bullied instead of coached (Um, why are you doing it like that? Do you think thats how its done? Come back when you decide to do it right! No, you dont get to try again! and things of the like). This sealed the deal for me to not allow my daughter to take the classes. The coaches for the preschool classes for my son were nice though. Most of the swimming instructors I came into contact with were nice but had no idea what they were doing in regards to teaching, my kids had to take the same classes twice before I decided to stop paying someone who wasnt helping and teach them myself. Its better to drive the distance to the JCC in York.
Lots of space. Great pool. The only issue is the locker rooms. They need to be upgraded.
It is a great place to go and work out but to be honest it is a little pricey now that they changed their rates. I also think it is dumb that you have to cancel on the tenth of the month but all and all good place to go and exercise.
I have been going to this gym almost a year now and I can say I dont think I will be changing anytime soon. The staff are always smiling and having a good time. The gym facility is clean and has plenty of equipment. Great place to go.
Great place awesome staff
Love the YMCA! Always clean with friendly staff. The facility is updates and the choice between warm and cold pool is amazing! The equipment is well maintained with many machines so you are ver rarely left waiting for a workout. My favorite is the private Womens gym, lots of privacy where I can focus on me
Always clean, friendly people & staff. Nice equipment t and great pools
Its an awesome place to chill and hangout with friends.
Great facility, recently had many upgrades done to courts, cardio machines, steam and sauna. Major downfall is extremely crowded around 5-6pm on most weeknights.
The way your staff treats the little kids is not cool or nice the women Rachel talks to the kids like they are adults do you really want your 3 and 4 year olds to be told to shut up, yelling stop in there face!
The people are nice and push you to your limits.
Great facilities great stuff, a lot of activities, great place for the family
One of the best YMCAs in the region!
Really kind and helpful people in all areas of the YMCA. Very modern facility that is kept up well. The programs are run to the benefit of all.
Good family place. Pricey $$$
