Love going to the Hammond’s YMCA and my kids feel the same! They are currently taking ninja classes and they love them!!

Been coming here for over 7 years and the place keeps getting better and better. everything you need to change your life for the better!! Check it out!!

I went to this Y to meet a friend because she lives close to this Y, she had an emergency she never showed so I decided to check it out for myself all the employees are amazing especially Elizabeth there all very welcoming I even got a tour of the place it was such a great experience that I signed up...so I go to Crown Point facility next day because its closer to my home thinking Im going to get the same treatment boy was I wrong employees there were very unwelcoming I felt total the opposite of what I experienced at the Hammond facility, When I walked into this Y in Crown Point A woman at the desk said that if I REALLY LIVE IN CP I need to pay more money. I was lost in there. No one there offered to give me a tour No one asked if I had ever been there, its sad because its such a beautiful facility...

I love the Y and I will highly recommend it to any family that want to be in shape and entertain themselves. In all of the years I have been a member I had never had a negative episode until today 7/24/2021.I was told by the new Gym Director I cannot take any equipment to the Y to train my son. When asking why and from when it is like that, she gave me a not nice and not supported answers highlighting the fact she had never seen me.I also asked at the front if they had any written regulation that I need to read so I can be in compliance w the Y rules, but they just said YES when in reality they had no idea. Also, they highlighted the fact they hadnt seen me at they Y. Rudeness seem to be part of themMy problem is not that I cannot take equipment. If that is the rule, I will adhere to it, but they need to learn how to talk to people especially to membersI think the Y should make sure they hire people-skilled employees and with customer service ability.Just like stated above, I LOVE HAMMOND YMCA and because it is so, I leave this comment here.

This corporation is very unprofessional!!! There high ranking employees WILL give out your personal information and nothing will be done about it. Your personal information is not safe with this place. You can go as high as to the CEO with a severe issue as a privacy/personal information breach and they will brush it off with yesterdays garbage. Definitely NOT recommended to anyone that respects and appreciates there personal information.

The renovation is pleasant and the equipment is brand new. There is also many programs daily for the busy adult, as well as the kids. Daycare available.

Staff is very friendly n kind new fitness room/s and equipment.. been coming here since 1990 when I was 5 🥰 best memberships available in the area! That includes a pool too!

I once liked this YMCA when I originally signed up but since I signed up for before and after care because they don’t start school until 9am the employees have been in unknowledgeable of the system or multiple transactions. The employees can’t handle this task and therefore throw an email at you and say sorry!

Employees make you feel like family, very clean place too!!

They are under renovation right now (greatly needed), they have a nice big parking area, the pool is at a perfect temperature, mostly everything is very outdated, but either in very good condition and they serve the purposes.

First time here. I live nearby so I joined. Took the tour. Very nice, clean place. Beautiful new addition with machines. Looking forward to a meeting on how to start smart. Masks required and temps taken upon entry.

They should put a police officer outside to help with traffic.. Other then that its a decent place.

The YMCA in Hammond has really stepped up their game. Having a pool really helps me as opposed to some places that dont have any that might be a little cheaper.

Love group classes

Lack of problems for children (boys) and every month I try to enroll them into a program it gets canceled but Ymca won’t just send the money back to the card, they just give u credit for the next month (but it won’t add up to the amount you paid for the class) even if u go to the first desk and ask why everybody just look at one another clueless.

Employees are very rude and as a first time member, asking any questions they make it seem like you’re a bother.

Great facility

The Hammond YMCA is an awesome place to go by yourself or with your family. They offer many different classes that are included in your membership. They also offer scholarships to offset the monthly membership fees. They have totally renovated the workout area with all new equipment! They also have childcare, a heated pool, hot tub, sauna, basketball courts and more! Go and check them out!

First Zumba class ever w George. Im exhausted and exhilarated! What a fun class and nice instructor. I will be back!

Horrible facility don’t waste yo time

Theyve turned this place into Planet Fitness without the purple wall paint. Since thats case, save your money and go there.

Just a note: this review is written after the renovations. My brother goes here for Basketball. Lobby, Gym, and hallways are beautiful after renovating.Also used to go here for swimming. Too bad the gym and pool werent renovated. Highly recommend.

The place is newly remodeled and looks great. The new machines are great. And as always the employees there are all fantastic

Very friendly atmosphere. Nice large pool. The life guards are nice and always alert of the kids. The only problem is in the summer you really cant do anything cause theres so many classes going on its like a school and the fitness center is a little small.

Great gym I literally go here daily had a steam room, sauna in mens and womens locker rooms Olympic size swimming pool, the gym is currently being renovated, in fact the entire facility is being updated. So if if was good before its going to be great one they are finally finished. Also it location is ideal because it is right off the highway and the staff is very polite.

I pay for my 2 boys for soccer and the coach was playing basketball in the court no attention or professionalism what’s so ever never againwill go there

You know its a great place when the other ladies are encouraging each other in the locker room. The fitness staff always greats you with a smile and encourage you after a hard workout. This is a great place with great people. The facilities are clean. The YMCA does a lot of good in our city. This place is wonderful.

I been to many gyms and this gym here is by far THE BEST GYM I ever been too!

I paid for my kids birthday/pool party 2 months in advance. We made it work but I was a bit disappointed. They shoved us into a small room because the one they showed me originally had been renovated. My guests and I had to share the small room with a giant ping pong table. The kids couldnt really play any games, dance or move around much because of the giant ping pong table and they didnt even give us a ping pong ball to play on it with. There was a television in the room as promised, but, I couldnt play my video/slideshow because the video equipment was locked up and no one had the keys. It was frustrating but the kids still had a good time.

Great place! Actually Ive been a member for quite sometime and its fun you have lots and lots of things to do...Mostly when I go I swim, and when I go there are kids in the deep end and the life guards take swim test .I do request wristbands again because I hate to keep taking the swim test... Thanks!

No hot water for showers again today! No notice on any door. Always something is down or broken. This doesnt happen T the Crown Point YMCA. Still we pay dues too!

Good pool for kids. Lots of noodles and float belts for little ones who are still learning. The exercise equipment isnt all brand new, but they have everything you need to get fit.

The building is very old so dont judge too quickly. This place is awesome!! The staff is super friendly and helpful! The entire place is sooooo clean. There are constantly people around cleaning all the time. The classes are fantastic! I take an executive boxing class with my coworker. The instructor is awesome and we all have so much fun. Sadly there are not enough people signing up and they may cancel my class and other classes. So please come and join us! You wont regret it!

Nice staff and clean facility. Good selection of work out equipment. Have extended hours for child care. Affordable compared to Porter County YMCAs. They have a sauna too!.

$50/month for the family. Great place to workout with the family. Boxing, weight room, pool, basketball, and pool tables. They have plenty of workout classes from youth to the elderly. Water aerobics, low impact, spinning class and belly dancing for the women. Swimming lessons and for special needs people.

Gym is good under construction which I dont mind. Signed up because of their childcare while working out daytime ladies are great but this is the 4th time i have went at night where by the time I walk to the fitness center or the gym that the lady is their for me to go get my little one because of of her excesive crying. I have brought this to managements attention and where they literally turned the other cheek in my face. This alone makes me want to leave. The YMCA is suppose to be all about family and community not feeling it at all from the night staff

Really wonderful place to work out. They have a sauna, a Whirlpool, a large, heated pool, work out room, gymnasium, racket ball, pool tables, basketball, Zumba class, a free book section, child care and so much more!!! I adore the Y!

If you could spend under $40 a month to help underwrite dozens of programs for kids in your neighborhood and fund your own ongoing fitness program using a nice pool, gym, exercise machines, classes, and personal trainers, why would you join any other club?

Nice and quiet place to work out. Weight room isnt that large but at least its clean. Just wish they were open later.

Unfriendly and uncaring staff. Called to see what community support groups they offered and they said that they dont have any. Told me to call the hospital theyre just a gym.

The staff is fantastic, the price is great, and my kids enjoy it a lot.

Staff is rude and not helpful. I will drive to Griffith which is farther but a better atmosphere for my kids.

I hope the ladies shower, toilet, and locker room areas have been updated👍

I was a member in 201 in swimming I stayed in the begginer group for 2 years but never went back,I have one question do you have gymnastics ther?I really want to improve on my flips.
