I go there once or twice a week and the staff is great. Im usually in and out pretty quick. During holidays can be busy but thats to be expected.

Staff is always wonderful and friendly - I drive by 2 post offices in Hamden just to go to this one just for the friendly staff

Will randomly close at some point between 1pm to 3pm and kick out anyone who isnt just dropping off a prepaid package.

Because of my schedule, I have had to run to this post office twice during their Saturday busy hour. The lines move fast and the staff are THE NICEST PEOPLE! Always a pleasure to handle any mailing needs!

This review is about a specific clerk behind the counter at 06518 post office. I give the rest of the service and staff FIVE stars. I have had several poor experiences with the clerk who works sitting down (this is only to identify the person and no other reason). I sometimes put postage on large envelopes and then have the clerk add the balance for which I then pay. One example: I was told the balance amount to pay, the additional postage was applied to the large envelope. I paid and put the receipt in my pocket. I looked at it when I got home. I had been asked to pay the total postage amount rather than the difference between that amount and the amount of postage I had already put on the envelope. Overcharged! Overpaid! Clerks mistake.Another time I was given the wrong receipt and didnt know it until I returned home and looked at it. This meant I could not track my mailing.So, lesson learned. If you do business with this 06518 clerk be certain you look at your receipt when you have completed your transaction and are still standing at the counter. You may be able to correct an error immediately rather than have regret on your return home.Perhaps if these errors were called to the clerks attention by customers when they happen or by someone in charge (is there someone in charge?) they would not reoccur.

Very nice setting and staffs have abundant knowledge about postal service. Friendly, too. Very reliable staffs.

They lost my $2000 laptop loaded with personal data. I have to wait 2 months for my warranty money I paid extra for. I’m a student I need my money so that I can atleast buy a new laptop for school. Use fedex it’s cheaper and has a much smaller reports of theft by employees.

The customer service here stinks and everyone is so unhappy
