My first visit today (7/13) was inspiring! I was impressed with the staff mostly and with the up-to-date technology and equipment used. The staff and I shared a lot of laughs about everyday things. I felt comfortable at all times with the plan for my treatment involving a whole new set of dentures. I am now looking forward to my remaining visits and to my new dentures. I contrast todays experience with that at Aspen many years ago in a different town. So much progress has been made since then. I had an initial appointment on 7/15/2021 due to severe pain in my teeth. The professionals at the Aspen Dental office at 2335 Dixwell Ave in Hamden got me the appointment quickly. I was treated expeditiously but also with great personal care. They took x-rays and a dentist examined my teeth and explained my problem and the recommended treatment plan. I agreed to the treatments and was courteously scheduled. I was very favorably impressed with the dentist and all the other professionals and staff at this office.
The office was clean and the people working there were understanding and very nice. Office manager worked out a perfect schedule for me. I honestly was a bit worried going there since its a chain, but with as nice and friendly as everyone was I have no problem recommending them!!
I actually had a very positive experience I wanted to mention directly. I thought I scheduled an appointment around a month ago for 6pm on a Monday. When i got there the girl at the front desk mentioned that she did not see my appointment. I had her plus two other ladies helping me to try to find my appointment. After about five minutes they still could not find it. However the appointment that qas supposed to show at 6 pm did not show for 10 minutes or so after the scheduled time. They offered the appointment to me and squeezed me in. During the whole ten/fifteen minutes they even looked into future appointments for me as well and called the appointment who was due for 6pm twice. They were such a helpful group of ladies.
Very disappointed in the service we received. We took our adult disabled son there, because we were referred to them, we were told they handled special needs patients. They gave up as soon as he would not let them do the bite wing X-ray. The “Doctor” didn’t even come out to examine him, didn’t even try! Will never recommend this place and I am now happy they didn’t look at him because they probably would of hurt him!
There are all great here friendly and very warm place makes you feel at home very comfortable listening to your need and works with you first visit here and and was great can’t wait to come back

A year ago I got my wisdom tooth removed. My insurance covered 30% surgical extractions. These people did not include my insurance and now I give them my insurance info but these brain dead people cannot call delta dental CT and always say we cannot find their phone number. They are not filing any claim nobody reaches out to me if there was any progress with my claim. Absolute dog sh*t dental office. I hope they see this review and do something.

They explained things to me before in the beginning as well as as they navigate through each step. They reduced my level of anxietyThrough their approach and caring attitude.
Will not be returning. Quoted me around 1600 for all this work. I decided to go to another Dentist. Was told I only have two cavities vs the EIGHT that aspen told me I had. Aspen also told me i needed two cleanings.. however that wasn’t the case at my new dentist. I had a cleaning and then scheduled my filling appointment. Money thirsty company.

For those afraid of the dentist, this is the place for you...The Staff here seems to legitimately care about whomever they are trying to assist and will continue to until your goal is accomplished 🦷🙂 update. Waited over an hr to be poked in my lip with needle after telling dentist I was not numb. All sorts of excuses. Like night and day. Will not be going back.

This location is the best everyone is so friendly and welcoming when you walk in. From the receptionists to the DA they are all fantastic. I had a extraction done when I was in pain and I got the service I needed. The office manager worked with me because I was having insurance issues but once I got that fixed they kept the ball rolling.
Terrible place. My 1st time there I was there for almost 4 hours because the person I was speaking with kept trying to sell me stuff, 2nd time I was there to get my tooth pulled and they never put me in the schedule so I showed up for no reason and waisted my time, 3rd time I showed up to get my tooth fixed and they put me in as a new customer, went through the same song and dance as the 1st time just to be told that they accidently put me in as a new customer and they dont have the time to fix my broken tooth. This place is just a dumpster fire and I wish the advertisements on the radio and T.V would stop so this place could fizzle out and dissappear. There is no communication, everyone there are like chickens with no heads, and the customer becomes a selling point instead of a patient. Im done with this used up litter box of a place
I was scheduled for oral surgery and when I walked into the office I was not even greeted!! Then the woman at the front desk did not introduce herself and had the nerve to say that I had to confirm my appointment verbally. What at waste of time. I took the day off without pay and had to get a ride there. I never got a call to confirm appt verbally only by text. Aspen just lost a patient. Will never go to any of the offices and will not refer anyone either!
I am confident I will have all my teeth if I have regularly scheduled dental visits through Aspen dental.
Everyone was well trained and respectful. Moved quickly. No wait. Took me in the same day. A very generous complimentary visit with exam and many xrays. Thorough visit with the doctor. Absolutely perfect. Going back for a cleaning. Don’t even hesitate. No pressure. I’m in the health field and can honestly say they’re wonderful.
I called Aspen Dental Monday and they got me in with an appointment the very next day on Tuesday. I went to the Hamden location and everyone there was very nice. The whole process from filling out my medical history, taking X-rays and even the exam assessment was quick and smooth. Special shout out to Cassandra, who did my Scaling and Root Planing procedure. She made me feel very comfortable and made the time go by fast. Not to mention I did not feel any discomfort throughout the entirety of the cleaning. This was my first visit to an Aspen Dental and it’s safe to say I have found my dentist for the long term. Would highly recommend if you live anywhere near this location to check them out. You won’t regret that decision.
After having a very regrettable experience at a local dentist Aspen Dental was great! Very friendly and helpful/accommodating, as someone who has severe anxiety w dental procedures I couldn’t recommend them enough to someone like me.

The Hamden Aspen Dental Center was super great! All of the people I interacted with were so friendly and kind. There were also so transparent about the entire process - I have never been to a dentist where they told me exactly what was going on at all times. It felt very clear and I felt well taken care of.

If you value knowledge or humanity in your dentists, stay away. It was like walking into a Forever 21 run by teenagers. The most unprofessional and incompetent group of people imaginable. Greedy, pushy, money hungry on top of rude. From the dentists to the office manager, who was audibly huffing and puffing at a patient over financial matters...in the middle of a pandemic. She is the number one reason I cancelled my appointment and asked for my money back. She needs to be revoked from society and someone should really give her hug because she is obviously very sad and miserable.

We love this Hamden Aspen dental office!! Our 18 year old son is autistic and they treat him with patience, professionalism and care. The dentist is outstanding. Our son LOVES to go and see this team. The office crew are also very helpful from a insurance standpoint and we know what we are spending before we have service, which helps from a budget perspective. We have the ability to pay less by using his Husky C state insurance but we pay a little more and continue use our company insurance just to stay with this office/dentist. I HIGHLY recommend for all your dental needs!!

I had an emergency over the holiday weekend, cracked a tooth to the nerve. My dentist who is excellent was on vacation, he did leave a referal. However, that didnt work out. I called Aspen on Tuesday, and they were able to see me within 20 mins. The place was very clean a plus due to them serving the public and under Covid circumstance. Staff is very polite and from the secretaries to my Dentist all did a very thorough job at their specific tasks. My examination EXRAYS for my teeth was more thorough than I have ever had in my entire life; and I keep up with my dental health. I was concerned with the coverage of this thorough exray wanted to make sure it was covered by my insurance because I never had it done. The Exray tech said yes, its part of my dental exam so it should be. My dentist she was absoultely pleasant and knowledgeable. She showed me what my exrays revealed and explained everything that was shown on the exray, which was truly seen with clarity and visibility; and to me to my satisfaction.
I was very pleased with my visit. The staff was highly professional and very calming for this anxious patient. My exam was thorough and they took their time to explain everything they were doing. Their recommendations were consistent with the prior ones from a well established dentist I’d seen for years, but the big difference was that Jody really was able to work with me to make the extensive work I need done as affordable as possible for me. Cassandra was excellent, giving me a thorough periodontal exam, as was the other hygienist (so sorry I forgot her name), who did the initial exam, and Dr. Banerjee did an excellent job of explaining exactly what my treatment plan will be. I feel confident my remaining experiences will also go well.
The wait is terrible every time. I got seated 40 minutes AFTER my appointment only to wait again for another 15-20 mins to start my procedure. No one communicated at all as to why I was waiting so long. What is the point of an appointment!? This happens every time!!

Horrible service. Took x-rays, but the actual wait on the dentist was forever. I walked out and no one batted an eye. No one called me or anything. Never again.

Ive been going through some insurance issues during the past year with my employer that seems a little out of whack although I get the same response with the front end as they laugh about it the nurses and doctors was such a big help that I havent received in such a long time that part was very appreciative and refreshing I will be doing business with them as time goes on as my primary dentist thanks for the big help I cant wait for my next scheduled appointment

My experience was unpleasant when they were not ready give prescription for my unbearable pain unless i sign up for their whopping $10k treatment deal.. At last I walked out without a prescription when they were not patient centric but money making centric..Really not the doctors office but Deal making office. Felt awefull for wasting my 2hrs time with them.

Our experience from beginning to end was spectacular! I called the 800 number to find out more about making an appt. April in customer care was so pleasant, patient, knowledgeable and helpful. I booked an appt. at the Dixwell Avenue, Hamden CT office for my mom who has Alzheimers. She was nervous at first, but as soon as we got there, she was relieved as the entire staff from front desk, to dental assistant, to Dentist and cleaning specialist all were so pleasant and took time to get to know her and patiently and gently take her through the process. The exam and consultation were easy, thorough and they took extra time to explain the care plan, next steps and pricing/payment options. Mommy and I both left very happy knowing we have a great team to take care of her. Thank you front desk staff, Shelby, Dr. Kim, Cassandra and special thanks to the office manager Jody, who took time to come meet my mom after we met about next steps. As far as I am concerned, 10 STARS wouldnt be enough! Thank you to the entire team!

Ive been to a number of dentist with the serious problems I had with what teeth I had left. The cost was outrageous to fix my teeth. Everyone told me not to go to Aspen dental. they are just hackers and money hungry Well, I tried them anyways. The dentist Asst. Shelby was really nice, professional, and funny. Made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Kim examined me and gave me a couple of options. The price they gave me was half the amount of all the other dentist. I made my decision to go with pulling all my (11) teeth and go with snap in dentures. Dr. Kim and her Asst. Shelby worked together on making sure I was comfortable and painless. I didnt feel a thing and Im a big baby when it comes to my teeth. Its the next day and still no pain. a little sore but no pain. Dr Kim and Asst. Shelby did a beautiful job. Im so Happy with the results
My experience at Aspen Dental was awesome. I was well taken care of. Given state of the art service, never was made to feel bad because I came in with no insurance and have to be financed. I felt comfortable, not nervous as I am with most dentists lately. The staff is very young, but dont let that fool you, they know what they are doing! And they talk to you about every step they do, show you the xrays and explain what they see. Love this place and very highly recommend them
Recently I needed to have four teeth extracted. The extraction took place over three visits. The first involved taking an impression of my mouth. The second involved the extraction itself which was quick and painless both during and after the procedure. I was given a bag of goodies most of which I did not need. However, the bag contained my partial which fit almost exactly and a page of written instructions detailing the steps I should take to speed the healing process.What Aspen has done, at least at the office I visited, was to speed up the who process of dentistry. - everything was prepared in advance. The dentist was excellent as was the supporting staffFinally, this review concerns only my experience with one Aspen office. Other reviews make it apparent that not everybody has had a happy experience with Aspen.

I went there and decided not to get the fix to my missing tooth done that they recommended. They also recommended I sign up for care credit to cover the cost. But after not getting the work done I was left with a 500 dollar bill that I found out later I could have avoided but the office advisor forgot to share this info with me. so I had no work done still a missing tooth and a $500 bill I am still paying monthly for. Go somewhere else were you will get the full info. Also I asked several times to speak to someone higer and they said they could not give me the number but would have them call and it never happened . I tried to desput the bill with care credit and they just wanted there money so that did not go anywhere either.
Had me go out there and fill out a ton of paperwork and they sent me home with a script that doesnt even exist.. I called them back and they wouldnt rewrite my script so I wasted gas for nothing.. do not waste your time at this place.. 3800 for a root canal.. Yea right!!😂🤣

Go to aspen dental if you want to see an incompetent, money grubbing dentist. AVOID GOING TO THIS FACILITY AT ALL COSTS!!! It will save you money and wasted anxiety about your dental health. I came to aspen dental after not going to the dentist for 3-4 years. I knew that I had cavities in each of my 4 molars that needed to be filled. The dentist that I saw here took full advantage of the fact that I hadn’t been to the dentist in a while and saw me as an opportunity to make A LOT of money off me. She told me that my cavities were so bad that I would probably need root canals. She also told me that I had gingivitis and would need a full gingivitis treatment. I later found out that her diagnosis was false. I did NOT need root canals nor did I have gingivitis. I did lose a lot of sleep over what she told me for several days (until I could see a real dentist who knows what he/she is doing and is less concerned about money and more concerned about you as a patient).On top of her crazy expensive diagnosis, she was not confident in her diagnosis and said that I need to come back for a “second opinion” which would cost me another $65. What kind of dentist needs a second opinion?!?!I saw Dr. DJ Park for my consultation. She made me feel awkward (humming and making clicking noises with her mouth while she was exploring around in my mouth). Also, I could barely understand what she was telling me because she kept her mask over her mouth while talking to me after she was done exploring.
( Jess Who commented) My experience with aspen dental was really good! The dentist explained everything that needs to be done with my teeth as easy as possible so I can understand. Then at the end when you discuss payment options. The ladies was extremely nice we talked & laughed. They explained everything I needed to know as well. As what is getting covered & so fourth. The only minor issue was that it did take awhile to finish the payment process ( probably because I was slightly in a rush), the dentist who removes teeth only comes on certain days & which isn’t many because I have to wait 2 weeks to get my teeth pulled. Which to me it’s way to long, especially when you have 6 wisdom teeth instead of 4 & they’re causing pain. Hopefully in the future the oral surgeon can at least be in the office more often. But overall it was a very great experience! Hopefully everything goes well with the teeth pulling. I shall write a review on that. But now reading a comment from another customer the doctor told me the same exact thing, that I need a root canal, a little Gingivitis & cavities. For that I probably will get a second opinion on from another dentist. Just in case I just found it quite odd that someone else just has the same exact thing. It might happen... but to me it’s just werid.
The staff from when i walked into the door, to the back room was happy. My doctors could answer my questions. They help me through my panic attack also (gas sucks). Love my nurse shes the best.
I had a dental emergency and they were able to see me immediately. All I have ever had were bad dental experiences and general dislike dentists. After this visit I have had my opinion on dentistry changed. Great staff and professionalism. I have already started referring my co-workers to use Aspen dental.

Hygienist was top notch. Nevertheless, their prices are outrageous. They took my payment first and then after the procedure, they gave me a gift bag with a toothbrush kit. Except it wasnt a gift. I looked closely at the bill and realized they charged me $200 for it. Returned it.
I felt very comfortable. I have had bad dentist experience. Dr Kim explained everything to me and showed me what needed done, where my cavities were on my X-rays. She answered all of my questions. My dental insurance had run out so I was given a discount. Overall a fantastic dental experience!

An office which is currently fixing the subpar work I had done at Asspen Dental Hamden.Although I received a fantastic cleaning, the entirety of the rest of my experience was very upsetting and regrettable. My teeth are in worse shape now than before I ever entered that building.I hope my experience is irregular, for everyone’s sake, but just be wary and take care of yourself if you choose to have work done here. It is a choice, and there are other options locally.

The care is wonderful but the manager lied to me about being approved for financing through genesis which leaves me with an unaffordable bill. I haven’t seen her since in the office conveniently. Very disappointed that I could have gone to ny and pd a quarter of the cost!

I agree with that the two visit is a pain and a hassle. I must say that the x-rays were very comprehensive and this is a high tech office, which I personally like.It also seems like the office has a lot of delays so one has to sit and wait, due to overbooking perhaps? When you finally come to see the dental hygienist or the dentist you feel like your are in very competent hand. This is the part I liked, it feels like all staff is very highly skilled, especially the dental hygienist and dentist. So, I dont mind the wait or the double visit set up...
After my examination, They wanted to do a $1200 cleaning before they start and then the office manager asked me for a $15,000 deposit. I wanted to pay as I go. I left and didnt come back. Now they send me mail that I can get 25% off.
UNPROFESSIONAL AND INCONSIDERATEI showed up at 8am for a confirmed 8am appointment. I made sure to call them the day before as they gave me a reminder about my upcoming appointment. I arrived on time and waited for about 30 minutes only to be informed that the hygenist will not be able to make it today.Very unprofessional and inconsiderate.

At first visit I was very nervous. I didnt know if I could afford the services rendered by Aspen Dental. I am the soul provider of my household and as you can imagine the pressure of day to day living can be overwhelming especially around the Holidays when money is tight but after speaking with a financial representative at Aspen Dental she set me up with a budget plan that was very affordable and made sense to me. A year ago I was 100 percent for Aspen Dental but the Hamden, CT office destroyed that .On 12/26/18 I went in because a filling that had fallen out I was rescheduled for 12/27/18 .On the 27th 15 minutes after I arrived I was asked if I had an appointment (not good)!!!Then I was put in a room and left with no contact at all, when I decided to leave they said they were busy.On 12/28/18 i called at 12:18 to have my x-rays sent to a new doctor and the message was we will be open until 1:00 pm (nope closed, not good).This office is working hard to destroy all patient relationships.I would not recommend this office for anything .
No issues, quick to get appointments and cleaning was thorough and efficient. They are part of my health plan, so I dont pay anything so I cant speak much on their pricing.

If I could give less than one star I would. This place is a complete mess. There’s a lack of communication, it’s unprofessional, the ads that you see and are told about are not true. I spent 2.5 hours in this Hamden location to get absolutely no where..I went to get an extraction done and left with more pain then I came in with..I wouldn’t dare take my self or children to this placed they consider to be a dental office nor would I recommend it to anyone I know!!!! The Nerve of this company to poke around in my mouth knowing I was in pain to send me home with nothing done
