I’ve always saw this restaurant on the way home. It looked very interesting. So today me and my girlfriend finally got a chance to check them out. We were pleased with there service! Our server made us feel very welcome there and we even met the restaurant owner. The Food is great and there Long Island Is awesome! We can’t wait to come back and check out the live band on the weekend!

I initially had low expectations, but the food was pretty good. The place was pretty busy with patrons and groups playing volleyball in the back. It seemed to be a pretty popular spot.We had a little BBQ mix plate with brisket & rib tips, fried mushrooms, chips & salsa and chicken strips.I would definitely go back again.

Disappointed in the Towering Chocolate Cake. Been purchasing this chocolate cake for the last few years and have always enjoyed. It used to be one HUMONGOUS piece (for $13, it should be). Then they started giving us two, hefty pieces. Fine. Today, we ordered the $13 cake that serves up to 4 people and received this. One piece, and it certainly doesnt serve four. It wouldnt serve 3. This is not worth $13.I understand that restaurants are struggling in this pandemic, but dont skimp and have your customers paying the same price. Be upfront. Will not order again.

The food was amazing! Portion sizes were huge! Our waitress was very personable and friendly! We ordered the pulled pork platter and shared it and it was more than enough! The sweet potato fries were delicious with their cinnamon butter! I highly recommend this place. It was out first time there, we found it online and went after a day at Great America. Super impressed.

My first time ordering from Fatman’s Restaurant. I had the Colossal Carrot Cake! It was absolutely AMAZING!!! The BEST carrot cake I’ve ever eaten. I shared it with a couple of family members….everyone sampled in awe! Please share this with the Baker, job well done. Certainly worth the price 👍🏾Secondly, the Baked Bean were also delicious! I’m a Southern and we take our beans seriously 😊. They were well seasoned with just enough kick!Thirdly, I had the rotisserie chicken, it was juicy with a nice smoked taste. However, did lack seasoning. Adding some seasoning would enhance the experience of the bird.Overall, rating 4.5… I’ll definitely be back 🤗

Ive passed this restaurant about 100 times, but had never actually eaten there until today. Everything was SO GOOD--the foot-long French toast is no joke, and its perfect. Prices are good, service is expedient, patio is comfy and pleasant. Well be back for sure!

The food was Good.Service was GRrrrreat!!!Problem lies with washrooms.As many people as they have in there.Mens has one stall.Womens has two stalls.In order to wash hands in womens.One must wait until someone is done using hand dryer.The mens stall was disgusting.The seat as well as the floor.It should be cleaned frequently.Especially if one stall is all you give us.Which in itself is ridiculous!

They were not of pulled poek.....the mini beef you could not separate the hot peppers it was baked into the bread....so I settled on spaghetti with meatballs....the meat balls turned out to be bread balls there was very little meat though as leather. Awful taste. Wont be going back there.

So many mistakes that I do not want to waste my time listing. To name a few we ordered 2 orders of corn for $8 but got 1/2 ear of corn ×2 when it stated 1 ear of corn, so missing 1 corn. The Burger called Fried egg burger featured an almost scrambled type egg, wrong cheese and missing bacon. The BBQ chicken wrap suddenly became a salad made with iceberg salad equivalent to the amount that would have likely been inside a wrap which was even more confusing because it was also supposed to come with a side of potatoes and coleslaw which are also missing. The food was tasty but messy for the items that we did get correct. Even with the price of food increase it was a disappointment. I really hope the owner is able to continue paying his employees well with all the corners they are cutting. If not, then get yourself a new job before this place goes out of business. Coming as the daughter of a restaurant business owner I know things at times go wrong, but this was a complete mess.

Super great stop on a splendid weekend. Sitting outside was a extra treat on such a beautiful day. Sorry no photo for this one but the Buffalo Bleu Burger was awesome. A little messy so if you want to clean it up ask for the Buffalo sauce on the side.Happy eats

My wife and I happened upon Fatmans after shopping at Gurnee Mills, and have been here several times since.Danny the bartender is attentive, funny, and is the sort of guy I’d like to grab a beer with. A+ service every single time we are there.Jacquelina the server is friendly and refills your drink before you even knew it was running low. Even on a super busy holiday night, we always felt cared for.And then there is the owner! He greets every table, just to say hello and thank you for coming in. We went in on St Patrick’s Day to listen to some Irish music and catch the dinner special. After finishing my plate, I mentioned how much I enjoyed their corned beef. The owner said he was glad I liked it, and (without hesitation) went to the kitchen and got another helping for both of us. At no charge! He was just glad we were enjoying ourselves.Skip the food courts and the chain restaurants. Fatmans is the place you want to go. Highly recommend.

Saw Bella Cain there. So much fun! So crowded. Really nice outdoor area for the band and sand volleyball courts.

Lively atmosphere & wonderful staff. the food was overall fairly good too, just a bit overpriced. hostesses need to be more attentive but other than that it was a good experience all together!

Best surprise of our weekend at Great Wolf Lodge. Stopped here by mistake and has some of their food. Only one word would describe this place. Amazing!

I’m the traveler. This is my first time here. I hear they are known for their smoked meats and sandwiches. I can not vouch for this, but I do come from a long line of Italian cooks. The chicken Parmesan was fantastic if you can’t tell by the pictures.

Service was slow, mixed drink had things floating in it, bartender was rude, ordered food and instead of cancelling it, they waited until it shouldve been ready to tell us they hadnt made it because of issues they were having. Would not recommend. Definitely wont be returning..

My job came here for a day get away. There was about 25 of us here on a Monday morning. The service was good. Timely on food and drinks. I ordered the half slab barbecue ribs. It came with coleslaw and fries. Wish I could of substituted the coleslaw for something else, but we were told that you could not. Many of my co-workers ordered alcoholic drinks and said they were delicious. Pleasant and helpful staff.What appears to be the main entrance from the road is actually the side entrance. Feels confusing.They have volleyball and gambling games.

🤠🤙 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟We always have a great experience at Fatmans. The food is familiar bar type food, but they do it well. They have flat screens at every booth. Pizzas are great, barbecue is great, sandwiches are great, special mention, the calamari is to die for, and so are the fajitas. The beer selection is incomparable. They have a wine selection and a nice mixture of cocktails. Check out the huge Long island iced teas. All in all, a quaint enjoyable atmosphere with volleyball in the summertime and live music on occasion, honorable mention, dont forget karaoke night! Outside seating on a hot Summers night with a band and volleyball is really a pleasant experience. Id give them more than five stars if I could. its come a long way from the biker bar that it used to be back in the day.....🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The walleye is not walleye not the same thickness, texture, or taste, it seems like its Pollack fish.

I had an unfavorable experience today but the manager danny was very understanding of the issue and took care of us! Unfortunately i wasnt able to enjoy my dinner but atleast danny made it right. We will definitely be giving fatmans another try soon! Thanks for your help danny!

The food was awesome. The service was excellent. We had Diane as our hostess and when I say she was attentive, I mean that. No matter what staff we encountered, every single person was polite. The food was hit and delicious...and the pricing was adequate for the amount of food they served.

I had a great time there first time. We went for breakfast and the food was great. When we went there was a small car show and we stayed a little longer and enjoyed the show as well.

Great fish fry with house-made onion straws. Very popular, they ran out of fish and resorted to giving me calamari, which was actually very good as well. Came with a soup or salad, I regret not getting the salad.

This place is great for the summer volleyball and the patio drinks and family friendly atmosphere and large parking spaces. BUT you forget about it all with their HORRIBLE pay system. Make sure to bring cash because they cant split checks very well. AT ALL.

Visited for the first time with my family. We came here to support the Knights of Columbus for our church St. Paul the Apostle. The fish fry was awesome and definitely worth a return visit. Very cool place to come and have great food. Very clean and good social distancing practices.

Sat in the Bar area to have a few Celebratory Frosties after my Pekingese Charlez won at a Dog Show earlier in the day! Tappers were good & Cold, but a bit pricey!

The food seemed better when they were busy. I literally came back for the dang egg rolls and they were over done and dry, served with cold au jus.

Had the fish fry. Reminded me of fishsticks. Poor draft beer selection particularly outside. A little trashy in feel.

Pulled pork was great. Fries were extremely over done and tasteless. Coleslaw has a funny taste. Beans were good.

Love the place and the food.

Farmans was excellent! We stopped in for breakfast. The Footlong French tost was beyond, as advertised. It was not just large it was perfectly prepared and delicious. The Southern Benedict, was great. The gravy was also a winner. The service was superb, you could tell they were a team who put great care into thier work. Fatmans was the total pacakage. Interesting atmosphere and clean bathrooms were a bonus. Note: use the back doors before 4 PM

Fun times, good atmosphere and tasty food.

First visit and accidental find. We were really hungry so ordered potato skin appetizer and BBQ brisket. The waitress warned up front that we would be taking food home. The appetizer was so large that we had to set part of it aside to save room for the brisket. I always opt for sweet potato fries if they are on the menu (and they were). The brisket was great and there was LOTS of it. (And we did take quite a bit home.)

Overall it was good food. The Band was amazing.

I cant complain I won 400 on the machines..It was the 1st time I was actually able to play a machine on 20$ more than 10mins.Which made it Exciting

The summary is the food was ok the service was not the best. Although this was the smallest gyro I have seen it was good. The tots were over cooked and the fries were good. The three stars comes from how they handled customer service. I ordered dinner from there and the google menu showed a $6 gyro. I called and ordered two and an order of mozzarella sticks. I get there to pick up my order I was charged $14 each. When I asked about the Sunday special the waitress kindly asked her manager, her manager gruffly came over and with his mask down stated they haven’t had that since pre-COVID. I told him that was not a problem and that I will pay for what I ordered and showed him what it said. Before I could finish he cut me off and said we don’t control Google. I said I know and that he should calm down as I was going to pay for my order. He walked away. On my way out he said have a nice night. I wished him the same.The point is customer service does not have to go away because we are all going through a hard time. I thought I was helping them by alerting to an issue that they can fix and all he had to do was listen and calmly let me know the issue. Maybe it was an off day or I was just just the latest in a long list of pain in the butt customers, either way I will not be going back.

One of my favorite locations in Northern lake county. Love their pizza and bar service. Recently went for their breakfast and got the foot long Nutella banana French toast. Let me tell you that thing was definitely a foot long..more of a shareable plate but so good.

Food is Ok service is pretty decent, but I would tell all service members this place do not grant Military Discount on food like all others in N Chicago specially being so close to a Military post, so I am not going back not because of me but because of my fellow Veterans and service members... do not sponsor this place. Lastly look at the ou US Flag and POW MIA FLAG all that for nothing because there is not actually 100% support to our troop or appreciation....

The service is good, there is a great selection of beer. The food was good. The wings were exceptional. Ill return. My only criticism was the blue cheese dipping sauce. It is sweet. I mean really sweet. I assume they make it in-house and they use salad dressing as they do with the coleslaw. Thats not a usual occurrence. 1000 island is sweet not blue cheese. In fact when I asked for ranch instead someone near me said the blue cheese sucks, you gotta go with the ranch here. That being said, the Ranch was perfect. Great Place and as mentioned, Ill be back.
