Brought my zero turn cub cadet in for suspected little leaking hydro pump. They could not find the pump leaking after a few calls to me. Upon pickup I noticed that the motor was leaking(I knew they are not a Kawasaki service center so referred me to one). They also noted on the report the motor was knocking and damp. Motor was the source of the leak. They did their job, but not sure why the first call to me wasnt that the motor was leaking and maybe the oil was following down to the hydro pump. I would bring my mower to them again, but make sure it was a cub cadet issue and not a Kawasaki issue. Nice guys.

If I could take away more stars I would. They damaged our rims while loading and pushed it off on the insurance. There was no damage to our rims prior. Terrible, terrible, terrible. I will never recommend this shop!

Havent ever purchased tires before and really dreaded doing so. Told Matt, at McClures, I needed help. He gave me 2 quotes, high and low end.I, then, did a lot of research locally, shopped Costco, also tried purchasing thru Amazon, and having someplace local install tires. McClures was the best quote. I called Matt back on Friday, set appointment for 9am Monday. My son met me at McClures at 9am. Matt said about an hour, son & I went out for breakfast, Matt called at 10:07, car was ready for pick up. Cost was below what was quoted.McClures made what I expected to be a nightmare experience a very comfortable experience. They will be my go to garage for all car needs. Nice feeling to know Ive found trustworthy people.

I came into town to stay for a night with my family at the water park. When we got into town we discovered that our sway bar broke at the joint. They were able to get it fixed in an hour. We were able to enjoy our time and we sincerely thank team at the garage. Great place! I would definitely have them as my mechanic if I were from the local area.

These guys are fabulous! Had a battery we purchased from them go bad within the warranty time and we walked in, they tested it and came right out with a new replacement. All this with smiles on their faces!

They picked up my riding lawn mower to fix it. I had told them that it had made a noise from the back of the mower where the engine is. The mower was under warranty (only 17 hours of run time). They called me back saying that the engine had blown and that they cant fix engines under warranty, but they still wanted to charge me pick up and delivery fee. I explained to them that I would have never went to them if I knew they only cover cub cadet not the kawasaki engine. They acted like I should be grateful for what they did... which is nothing. Complete scam.

I am from New Jersey, and was driving up to Chicago with friends. We got into an accident, and had to get the car checked out. We were recommend McClure’s, and we went ASAP on a Friday right during lunch, and a man (I presume the owner) took time out of his lunch to help us. He wired up our car, filled everything up for us, and didn’t charge a thing. He also has a very nice cat named Scrappy! I definitely recommend this mechanic, he is honest, and very kind.

The owner is very polite and helps with anything you need to repair your vehicle or he can repair it for you. He is very knowledgeable and have all the tools you need. Five stars!

McClures was open and honest about the status of my car. They explained each repair and the cost. There was no pressure to go forward with what could have been very costly repairs.

They wanted to charge us for a new carburetor on our riding lawn mower. Brought it home without the repair. With just a little carb cleaner its been running for years without their very expensive repair. Great place to go if youve got money to burn.

We have used McClures garage for nearly all of our automobile repairs for nearly 25 years. We have always considered their service honest, rates fair and behavior professional. There is a reason that theyve been in business for generations.

Nothing like getting hung up on. If this is the service you receive on the phone, I could imagine what you are getting in the garage. Buyer be ware. There was no reason, except that I didn’t schedule an appointment, that warranted the hang up.

Absolutely the WORST customer service I have ever received!!! I have heard bad things about this garage but still was giving them a chance. Wow! They repaired my tire after a flat and installed the wrong size tire! I have since had car trouble (I didnt know the tire was the wrong size as I know nothing about cars and would expect a garage to install the right product) and after alerting the garage of my problems, all the manager said after I called back was Wow. No apology, no lets see how we can fix this for you, nothing! I will NEVER go there again and hope that if you care about your care, you will NOT either!Unbelievable!

My car was towed here after it was rear ended last Thursday. My husband took me to pick it up Friday morning and they wouldnt even let me get my work badge out of my vehicle until 9am without an after hours fee of $85. They had several workers there, but said their towing department didnt open until 9:00am. I asked if I could at least see the damage and I was told only if I paid the $85.... even though the back gate was wide open and this would not have caused anyone to work!! Also they said it was just minor damage and drivable. We drove back by the gate to see if we could catch a glimpse from outside the gate and one of them ran back to close the gate so I couldnt even see it from a distance. We left and my daughter took me back before 5pm... when towing hours ended, they brought it out after charging over $210 for having towed it only 2 miles..... as I drove off the lot it was very apparent something was terribly wron with my vehicle... I drove straight to the dealer who informed me the frame was involved and it was not safe to drive!!! If you ever have to be towed NEVER use McClue towing!! Expensive, and rude and even worse incompetent in assessing drivability of a vehicle.

Good service i wont take that away. Extremely overpriced though. I figured i would give them a shot instead of buting the equitment to do the job myself.. Bad idea, They charged me $125 to removed a rounded head bolt from my camaro. $125 to weld a 13mm socket onto the bolt, take it out and bring it .6 of a mile down the road ( I can show you on google maps, No joke!) I wont ever do business here again. Same job different car last summer they charged me 65 flat.

The shop is a little outdated but when it comes to their knowledge and helpfulness its fantastic. If I could give this place 10 Stars I would.

To the Gurnee Community,We feel the need to respond to a recent review because it does not display any of the needed information in order to make the right determination of our business character. As for Denises review of us I will take each point and explain the process per contractual agreement by the Gurnee Police Department. Business operation hours for Towing are 9:00am to 5:00pm. Anything before 9:00am or after 5:00pm is “After Hours” which results in an additional $85.00 fee. Taking pictures and receiving anything out of the vehicle would be ok, with no additional charge as long as it is within the permitted hours. This was explained to the customer multiple times in a very calm demeanor. Then they tried to drive in our back lot in order to see their vehicle, which is trespassing if the additional fee is not paid. To prevent the situation from escalating we closed our gate. The customer then proceeded to the Gurnee Police Department, where they were informed by the Gurnee Police Department that the towing business hours are 9am-5pm; along with an additional fee for any other time. The Gurnee Police Department then contacted us and agreed we did nothing wrong. As far as the minor damage is concerned we are not a body shop and never inspected this vehicle. We told her in our opinion it was minor damage considering it was in an accident and was drivable however, nothing was said about vehicle safety. As far as fees are concerned they go as follows. Any accident call by the Gurnee Police Department is contracted in at $210.00 dollars no matter if it is a block away or 8 miles. The credit card fee was told to the customer before processing the payment. We can charge up to 4%, however we only charge a 3% additional fee which impacts the customer less. I cannot understand the claim of being rude and incompetent when we were on the receiving end of the harsh words and their actions to further escalate the situation; all on our security surveillance. The customer received multiple receipts in order for them to have a copy and also to give to their insurance company making it easier to keep records in order. Our business was conducted in a professional manor; along with the fees that our contract states with the Gurnee Police Department. We tried multiple times to explain the process and unfortunately could not get through to the customer. We strive to make our customers happy in every situation we possibly can and will continue to do so. This situation saddens us but, there is not much we can do when the process and fees are set for everybody in this same situation.
