I wasnt happy when my antique furnace crapped out in sub zero temperatures about a week ago, but in under 7 days, we went from making the initial call to Herchenbach, to getting our new Carrier Furnace installed yesterday. It was an unbelievably simple process from start to finish. I got 3 quotes sent over via e-mail the first morning, they were all explained to me thoroughly by Curtis, as HVAC is definitely not my thing, and I chose one of the options that same day, applied for the financing on their website immediately following, was approved 10 minutes later, and they were out here 4 business days later doing the work. Hilllary in the office was fantastic, she remained patient with me, considering all of my questions, as I was nervous about spending the money suddenly, but they could not have been better as a team. The 2 installers were great as well. With the snow melting, I was worried about mud, but they laid down tarps from the entrance all the way downstairs to the furnace room. It was a total non-issue. They got the job done, extremely professional, answered any questions I had with knowledgeable answers, and including demolition, complete install and testing, in 6 hours. It was unbelievable. The Carrier system is so quiet compared to the unit they replaced, and the smart thermostat is so cool as well. Anyway, I would highly recommend Herchenbach and Carrier to anyone looking for a new Furnace and/or A/C system. They will be back out in April doing my A/C system. Looking forward to it! My furnace went out early morning January 20th. On my daughters recommendation (who had her furnace and A/C replaced by Herchenbach a year ago), I called Herchenbach, and they came out the same morning. They told me my 23 year old furnace (A/C same age--both original in this house) needed replacing, explained options, and gave me quotes on site. After accepting one, they came out at 7:30 AM the following day and replaced furnace, A/C and humidifier by 4:30 PM. They were extremely polite, efficient and did a complete clean-up after completion. They also thoroughly explained any differences in operation with new equipment compared to the old. After working with Herchenbach staff to determine the right unit and good price for replacing our aged furnace, they quickly gave us an install date. Technicians showed up on time and did a really nice job of correcting a few errors from the original installation and reworking piping and duct work to provide maximum efficiency from the new unit. They were polite, careful to maintain social distance and mask usage, and were careful to avoid scratches when moving heavy equipment in and out. I recommend them highly.

Our longtime HVAC guy retired and sold his business to Herchenbach. The transition for me was no problem as I have known Dennis and Sharon Herchenbach for years. Honesty and Integrity exemplied! We were without heat and had been deceived by a company with which we had been long time customers. We did not have any history with Herchenbach but had seen their trucks locally. We explained our situation and we were prepared to buy a new furnace. After consideration, we were advised to call a local certified Lennox dealer because the broken part of our furnace should be under warranty. They unselfishly recommended a different company. This act of honesty, integrity and unselfishness saved us thousands of dollars. I was not a customer and they did this for me! I can only guess what they can do for their current customers.

Met with Curt Herchenbach who assessed my 32 year old furnace with respect to issues that had developed over the years. We picked out the right furnace with a two stage blower to alleviate the lack of airflow on the second floor. Ron and Matt installed my furnace, were.considerate of my home and courteous to me. I had some issue with programming the new thermostat and the company sent over another employee who knew the most about the thermostat and set it up for me in 5 minutes. There was a leak said he could fix it but could not guarantee how long it would last. We decided to go with a new AC and furnace at the same time. Tres gave us a quote and we were satisfied so signed the contract. Before he left we had the appointment for the install date. They they showed up on time and completed the job in about 3 hours. They also ran the extra wire from the thermostat to the furnace to install a smart thermostat. So far we are very happy with the new units and would recommend this company to others. Initially the quote included rework on A/C coil, but the guys were able to find a solution without having to cut the coil, and saved me a big chunk of money. I have a very old Air Conditioner and Furnace and knew they needed to be replaced soon. I called ABC first and they told me my Compressor failed and that would be just about as costly to repair versus replace. I had them quote to replace the furnace and the air conditioner. I learned that you should always get a few quotes (No matter the situation). So I called Herchenbach (Mike?) to get a second quote on my air conditioner and furnace. The tech (actually the sales guy) came in and starting writing up the quote based on the details ABC provided me. The Tech from Herchenbach (Mike ?), on a whim asked me to turn on the air conditioner. When I did, he looked at me and asked if I would be interested in fixing it versus buying a new. Of course I agreed. Just by hearing the Air kick on, he had a hunch ABC didnt diagnose the issue correctly. He went an got his tools and retested the system. It turn out that I blew a the cylinder, not the Compressor. I fixed it for $176 instead of 5,000. He completed the quote to replace both my Air Conditioner and furnace and the quote came out to be substantially less than what ABC quoted. Herchenbach was extremely knowledgeable and I felt the company will go over and beyond to satisfy their customer. I will be replacing my furnace and air conditioner this fall and Herchenbach Mechanical Inc. will be the company I trust to complete the installation. They are amazing!!

Herchenbach Mechanical just finished their installation of our new Carrier infinity heating and air conditioning system today, replacing a 23 year-old system. I must say my first impression is that the new system is outstanding. Having moved from Chicago to Gurnee I had no idea who to call for my heating and air conditioning needs. My inducer motor was sounding like a loud table saw for about a week. Not good.
