We chose 1-800 Shipping after comparing quotes from multiple companies for our family’s recent move from the east coast of the US to England. 1-800 Shipping was not the cheapest quote, but as in much of life, you get what you pay for, and we were not disappointed. Tom and his team provided great customer service throughout the process and were always extremely responsive. There were only two minor hiccups in the process, none of which were 1-800 Shipping’s fault: (1) we underestimated the amount of boxes and furniture we would ultimately take, but Tom provided an entirely fair revised quote for the final shipment; and (2) our container disappeared for a few weeks in UK Customs, but Tom somehow had it delivered across England the very next day after it finally cleared. All of the agents he contracted along the way, from the initial US pickup crew to the final UK delivery crew were outstanding. We wouldn’t hesitate to use 1-800 Shipping for our next international move.

We shipped a 40 ft. From Atlanta to Davao, Philippines. It was VERY smooth. Tom shopped around in Davao for a good customs agent when the first group seemed sketchy and found the best for us. They communicated everything and all we had to do Wes’s the loading. Incredible!

I sent my stuff from US to Greece.That was my first experience with 1-800 Shipping and Tom Jacobs.The cost was higher than initially calculated, and instead of 7 weeks (initial ETA) it took 12.On the other hand my boxes were palletized well and they arrived in perfect condition.I would recommend their services but meke sure to be present when they measure the total volume of your boxes.

I recently made the move from the US to Spain. After speaking with several companies, 1-800 Shipping seemed to me the best combination of reliable and customer service oriented. There were other companies with similar, or even slightly better, pricing, but Tom was the only one who seemed generally invested in helping us get the best price and smoothest experience. The few bumps we encountered along the way Tom was eager to help with, and he explained in detail anything unfamiliar to me. As this was my first such move, that involved a lot of explaining. When the shipment arrived, everything was in order and undamaged. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

Tom Jacob was very efficient and extremely customer-focused. He knew his stuff on transatlantic shipping. He responded to all our issues immediately, including a refusal on our part to use a local removal company in the UK with whom wed had a prior bad experience. The company that eventually shipped our effects from the port in the South of England to Manchester in the North of England did a superb job. In Massachusetts (from where we relocated to the UK) Tom worked with M&M Moving and Storage Co, who also performed an excellent job of packing and moving our effects from Cambridge into their storage facility and several months later from their storage facility to the transatlantic container. M&M were also very responsive to concerns and potential issues. The move had been a worry for us because (1) we have had problems in the past and (2) this was not a company move but a personal one so we were not relying on long-standing Employer experience. We reviewed and rejected quite a number of companies before selecting 1-800shipping. In the event we were not disappointed. All our furniture, including antiques, ceramics, glass, and musical instruments arrived safely and according to the schedule we set after buying a new property in the UK. Ive no hesitation in giving Tom and M&M 5 stars.

I reached out to Tom Jacob. I found him to be responsive and fair. He helped us to ship a container of personal items to Pakistan. One area he could have helped us A little more is with regard to MA tax rebates for exports. But even I didn’t know. One of the boxes had damage and he coordinated the inspection and replacement. Always there and a potential new friend!!!

One item was left out from the container. The Spanish end worked really well and professionally. Only some insignificant damage with the cargo. We are happy overall.

We moved to another country and it was a chaotic time for us. Tom and I-800 Shipping were the best. From the beginning phone call to the final follow through we we were picking up our pallets at customs. They were professional and very helpful. I would highly recommend them. And one last thing - we shipped 3 pallets of Kitchen, Living room and bedrooms, Artwork, Pictures and China across the Atlantic.........Not one item was damaged. Unbelievable!!

STAY AWAY! Worse possible moving experience, and I’ve moved quite a lot.A) They are not movers, they are brokers with a 2 person team, even though they make it seem they are a big moving company. Tom Jacob, the owner, promises a lot but fails to deliver;B) My price ended up almost 3x higher than the initial quote, as they quote you cubic feet but don’t tell you that those cubic feet relate to the total cubic footage of your boxes piled together on a pallet instead of the actual square footage of the boxes, which is highly deceiving;C) The worst part, they promised it would take 4 to 6 week door to door, but ended up taking almost 5 months, which is just ridiculous.In retrospect, the lack of real reviews should have been my clue to stay away..
