I had been in counseling for over 10 years. One day I was told about a new kind of therapy called DBT. I was put into contact with Guilford Counseling. Best thing that ever happened in my life. I learned skills to cope with depression, anxiety, trauma etc. I have had the pleasure to work with Jennifer and Rachael. Both are wonderful caring counselors. I highly recommend Guilford Counseling for all of your Mental health needs and more.
Each of the clinicians I have experienced at Guilford Counseling have conveyed empathy, expertise, and competency while working diligently toward promoting mental health. No wonder they have had so much success in changing the lives of those they serve--what a great community resource!
Two things:1. Rosh is the best therapist Ive ever had. Kind, understanding, does phone coaching, and extremely flexible with scheduling.2. Joe should not be running DBT skills class. When I was in the group he would regularly do behavior chains on members of the group who were late for class in front of the entire group. Not only was this extremely humiliating for those involved but it was a complete waste of valuable class time that didnt seem like it had much purpose outside of shaming others. When I brought this up with him he was standoffish and refused to listen to my point of view. After a 45 minute phone conversation with him trying to explain why I found his behavior unacceptable, I got frustrated and had to hang up on him. I have made arrangements to join another DBT skills group but this experience was incredibly frustrating and belittling.
Ive had the profound pleasure to collaborate with the folx at Guilford Counseling. Without exception, the team at GC represent highly committed and effective mental health providers who deeply care about those whom they serve. Im confident that youll find the resources you need to live a better, more manageable and meaningful life.
