U and I moved us from Menasha to Denver over this previous weekend and did a fabulous job. A cross country move is never easy and Scott and Karla made the process as painless as possible. They were communicative and open about timing and keeping us posted on when our stuff would arrive. I always prefer to use a local company vs a big national company and it was so worth it this time. We paid a little extra to have Kay and her crew pack all of our stuff and let me tell you, it was worth every penny. Not one thing broke, not even a wine glass. Our stuff was handled with care, arrived on time, and was unloaded quickly and efficiently! I cant recommend these great people enough!!!!
Although we ended up hiring another moving company, I was super disappointed with my experience. I called to book a specific date and unfortunately with this crazy market we could not do a morning move(can’t move into the new home until 1pm).I suppose I understand some companies will only do a morning move, but I was slightly offended with how the lady handled it.I was told “You need to understand the movers have families too, this is our busy time of year and we can fill with an 8am spot, so maybe you should call another company who will do an afternoon move”It felt very much like she was unwilling to accommodate, and wanted to push me away.I then called two other moving companies who were more than willing and eager to accommodate my situation.
Great place! Nice people and hard workers. Highly recommend!
Scott the owner is a good friend of mine and an awesome person. Always willing to help anyone anytime. Definitely a greta business man. Highly recommend him and his company.
We used them to move us this past May (2020). They had someone come out and estimate how much stuff we had so they could bring the right truck. They arrived on time with a rather small truck. The guys were looking around and stated that we had a lot of stuff which was the same stuff we had when they came to estimate. Needless to say the truck was too small and we ended up moving a bunch of own stuff. The guys did do a good job of moving the stuff into the new house with no damage. It was raining when they started and pouring when they finished. In a attempt to get closer to our house they pulled off the driveway and into our yard without my permission. They ended up getting stuck in our yard. They tried to get free with no luck. Meanwhile my phone rings and it’s the office lady, I can’t remember her name but might be Carla, and she wants me to pay for a tow truck. I asked her why I should pay and she stated that it was my driveway. I told her that is my driveway but they were not stuck in my driveway as they pulled into my yard without my permission. I also told her that I should really be charging her for my landscaping bill, of course I didn’t do this. Long story short, do you really want a moving company like this for your move? It’s just poor business if you ask me.
Yesterday started out badly. I went in the basement to put something in our freezer and found that it had died during the night. In a panic I ran upstairs and told my wife that we were about to have a freezer full of rotten meat. We immediately began looking online for an upright freezer and try to have it delivered before the contents of our old one expired. We decided to try some small mom and pop type shops first, because so many family stores are struggling, but found out there were no freezers to be had. They all told us they hadn’t seen a freezer in 6 to 8 months because of manufacturing issues relating to COVID-19.The weird thing is, seeing as how it’s January, normally you could just take the food and put it in a box and put it on the back porch and it would stay frozen... but not this year; the temp outside was 38°.We went online and looked at our normal appliance dealers website and found the freezer we wanted, but when we checked on it it was out of stock. We did see that they had one model in the store as a display and hoped that maybe we could get our hands on that one. We called the store but the sales people were all busy and no one could come to the phone and talk to us. This was not sounding good for the home team.My wife decided that she was going to drive over to the store herself and talk to someone, while I worked online trying to figure out what we were going to do. She called me 15 minutes later and said “they won’t sell me the display model, but you won’t believe it... there’s a truck coming in in about 20 minutes with two freezers on it ... and it’s the one we want.“ But the problem is going to be this... they couldn’t deliver until Tuesday, which was four days away.So now we had a freezer lined up but no way to get it to our house and down into the basement for four days. Then I remembered that I had a local mom and pop moving company help me over the summer by moving my washer and dryer when I built an upstairs laundry room. I gave them a call and the lady that answered said they had no one available today, But they had a couple guys who are going to be finishing a move soon and she would call them and see if they could come and help us out.U & I Movers saved our bacon... literally. She called me back and said the guys could meet us at the appliance store in 15 minutes, pick up our new freezer, and deliver it to our house. I called my wife and told her to wait there, which she did, and a half hour later the truck from U&I movers, with our freezer on board, arrived in our driveway and 3 of the nicest guys, including 1 of the ones who helped me earlier in the year with my washer and dryer, hauled it down into the basement. But that’s not even the end of the story. Now we had an old freezer that we didn’t know what to do with. We called the Village and they said that they would not take it on garbage day. But they suggested a local salvage yard that would take it for the cost of 20 bucks. My wife asked the moving guys if they would be willing... and they offered to take our old freezer and drop it off at the scrap yard on the way back to their shop. It’s almost like a series of miracles took place to find a freezer... get our new freezer in the basement... saved all of our frozen food AND got our old freezer taken to the scrap yard. It was all made possible by some very great people from U & I Movers and my awesome wife! How rare is it to find a company willing to do a little teeny job for someone in need, at a moments notice? And they did it twice for me in a 5 month period... thank you U& I Movers!
Do NOT trust the estimate. Do NOT trust the reviews on their webpage. Scott and Karla will give you an estimate you can live with and then when the move is complete add 40% and blame you. Scott underestimated the job, ignored multiple verbal and in writing statements that we needed to be out by 11am. He called in additional help to get us out in time and charged us overtime. I tried to resolve this without doing a Google review but they ignored my calls and emails except for an unannounced visit to my new house where Scott tried to dispute it on our front lawn. Inappropriate.
I used U & I Movers over a year ago - first time utilizing a moving company. Experience was great! In fact, the experience was so positive, we are using them a second time.
U&I Movers showed great concern and care in the moving of our household. Friendly staff and very efficient. Great job team
U & I Movers did an AMAZING job moving our clinic this weekend. They arrived on time, were very organized and delivered all of our belongings in perfect condition. The entire team was extremely friendly, professional and even fun to work with:) U & I helped take the stress out of our Saturday relocation. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of either a personal or professional move. Employee after employee of mine kept commenting how much they enjoyed the group of movers. Scott and Carla did an amazing job both organizing our move and quelling my anxiety leading up to relocating our treatment center. They literally have hearts of gold! 5 stars for sure!!! Our employees and patients thank you for making this such an easy move!!!!
We had a small 2 bedroom house to move from Allouez to East DePere and these guys were great to work with! They were punctual, professional, prepared and extremely personable. I would recommend highly.
Scott and Karla have moved us on two different occasions. Our last move was from Wisconsin to Florida. Our items arrived just after hurricane Irma, perfect timing. U and I are true professionals, on time, taking great care with our furniture, wrapping it in blankets, assembling bed frames on delivery, and so easy to work with. We have moved 12 times, and we are hoping this will be our forever home, but. ......if not, we know who to call. Thanks again, Ken and Sue.
Scott and five of his movers moved us from Ashwaubenon to Dyckesville. Five guys showed up on time. They worked fast and very efficiently. Scott the owner cane to our home to check on how things were going. We had absolutely no problems. I highly recommend U & I Movers Express.Judge Marc & Kathy Hammer
We used U&I movers. They are based out of green bay but do nationwide moves. They did an amazing job. Very timely, very reasonable, very responsible. No scam of raising the price later. Delivered quickly (within a couple days) right as promised. They really helped us out with the timing too as we had a set date to move out of our house( it was sold) and we were not getting movers till 3 weeks later. They packed and loaded and unloaded the stuff for us. Nothing broken. In short, they were amazing. I didnt see many reviews for them online (so no good reviews either ) so was skeptical at first but they were my only option so went ahead with them and dont regret it till today. Scott and Carla are the most helpful and organised people you can find.
We had a terrible experience back in July. They were supposed to come at 8am. Canceled stating it was hot weather, said they would be there by noon. Found out they took a bigger job. I had my father who was waiting to move into assisted living sitting there without medication and could not move him yet because his chair needed to be brought there by movers. By the time they should up at 430 pm he missed his pills and was incontinent all over. They moved four large items only about 2 miles. Quoted us $275 but charged us $100 more after coming late. I would advise staying away.
My experience with U & I movers is bitter sweet. Amanda in the office is amazing. She listens intently to everything you need and has great attention to detail. The fellas who did the heavy lifting worked hard and took care to wrap our furniture and belongings. There was no damage in transit and they were punctual. Those were the sweet spots. The bitter are a few things in between. Carla and I talked extensively for an hour when she was giving me a new quote after my initial one with Amanda. Carla wanted to make some corrections and I understood. We talked in great detail about what I owned and the size of the move as well as services and drive time, number of people etc. At the end of our call, we figured 10 hours for 4 people plus 1 week of storage and a few supplies would come to approximately $2,500. She repeatedly told me that she felt my estimate was realistic and we were on the same page. We would talk more in 3 weeks and confirm all details.Fast forward 3 weeks to the day before our move when Carla and Scott call me together to advise me that morning they went onto Zillow to view the home we were moving from and say it will actually be a lot more even though we had previously talked about the inventory for this move. I asked why on earth they would wait until the day before the move to look on Zillow and advise me a new quote of $4,000-$5,000 when I now had no plan B or time to take action on a new plan. My options were agree to their new quote (3rd one now) or not move! Scott said that the average 3 bedroom home of this size is always 4 or 5k. My question was then why would Carla not also know this information and be able to expertly quote the same since they work for the same company and are quoting on averages? They are miles apart on their numbers. I wasn’t looking for a firm number but an average quote should not range from $2,500 3 weeks before the move and change to $5,000 the day before the move. I feel this was not a coincidence they waited to inform me the day prior.Trying to put the $ aside and get through a stressful move, the guys were pretty nice but then the excitement of moving literally shattered. I don’t know why they would do this but rather than walk around the house with our fire pit, they took our 4’x4’ crushed glass outdoor fire pit into my new house and then could not get it out onto the deck. I heard one mover say “let’s tip it quick, go through the door, and tip it back”. Before I could even say “NO!” to this idiotic idea, they were tipping and moving and the glass crystals flew everywhere! In the kitchen, on my deck, in the slats, on the patio down below. There were options that they decided were not worth taking! They could have asked me to unpack the glass. They could have asked me to tape over the glass. They could have walked around the house. They could have asked to put it in the garage and we could have moved it in the spring. So many options but the short cut of going through the house was the winner. This was not an accident but lazy negligence. In short, I did not feel I should have to pay for the time it took them to clean up this mess (an hour that day and a professional the next day). They were not bending on my request for $50 to be taken off of the bill for the time their men spent picking up glass shards rather than moving my things. I will probably NEVER be able to walk on my deck or patio with bare feet due to this frankly stupid decision. The biggest disappointment was that they didn’t apologize or take ownership over the bad choice and its consequences. They told ME that I could clean it up in the spring. Hard no on using these folks again.
My mother and I used U & I Movers Express to transport our baby grand piano, and other large pieces of furniture across town. The crew did an excellent job and were very professional. We felt like we didnt have to worry about anything and we were very pleased with our service! Will use U & I Movers Express again in the future for sure!
Worst Moving Experience Ever. Avoid U & I Moving! Scott and Karla are not to be trusted!I contacted Scott and Karla approximately 3 years ago to pack my home, place all items in storage and then move to a new home. I have an extensive art collection including ceramics and had paid Scott and Karla a significant amount of money to have these fragile items professional packed in wooden crates. I was assured that they had extensive experience in packing art work. The items were removed separately from the house and taken to their warehouse where I was told they would be professional packed. I was also told that all items would be wrapped and stored in a climate controlled environment as well as being told that they only use their own employees and never hire “temporary” help. After the items were in storage for 3 years, U & I then moved my items to my house across the country. Upon receipt of the items, it became clear that the art was never packed professionally in wooden crates, instead much of it was packed with paper in cardboard boxes and the paintings that were supposed to be crated were placed in between mattresses. Many of the art pieces were broken beyond repair and several of the paintings had rips in the canvases where it was clear they were dragged across the floor. Much of the furniture was dirty and there was mold growing on several pieces-it was clear that the furniture was not kept in a climate controlled facility. In addition, Scott did not bring his own employees to move and unpacked as he had promised; instead he hired local help that he had never worked with. Even though he was supposed to oversee the move and the unpacking, after the initial several hours of the move, Scott left the site and did not return until late the following day. The person that Scott left to supervise the move spent most of his time sleeping in the truck. In addition, Scott charged me for 2 full moving vans even though the second truck was only half loaded and a much smaller (and cheaper) truck could have been used. It turned out that Scott had another job in AZ and he needed the second trailer. When Scott returned to the move, I showed him the damage and confronted him regarding the lack of appropriate packing and crating. He initially denied that I had paid for crating until I showed him the original invoice. He then assured me that he would appropriately reimburse for the damaged art. I quickly learned that Scott has no problem lying, whether to you in person, in emails or on the phone. In addition, while the items were in storage, I had taken out an insurance policy with U & I for additional protection at the cost of $327/month. It turns out that they never took out the additional policy – a fact that I had learned when I filed my claim.Obviously, I am attempting to recover the costs of the damages to my art work, furniture, and other items. Two months ago, Scott had assured me that he was in active discussions and negotiations with his insurance company, and I was assured of payment for a mutually agreed upon amount. I was told several times that the “check was in the mail”. When the money never arrived, I called the insurance company directly, and was told that there had never been any discussions with Scott on payment. I am now in the process of filing a lawsuit against U & I for negligence and damage to my property. You have many choices in northern WI – please go elsewhere and avoid U & I. There are several very negative reviews where others have had similar issues. Please do not ignore these reviews – I truly wish that I had listened to them.
U & I did a wonderful job moving us! Everyone was friendly and cheerful. From start to finish the entire process went smoothly. I highly recommend U & I!
If a zero rating was an option I would definitely rate them a zero! WORST MOVERS EVER. Long story short after refusing to move many of the items contracted to move, never offering to return to get the items once they were packed according to their standards broke three pieces of furniture and the response was you signed a waiver. Was willing to fix one of the pieces as a courtesy. I made arrangements to be home by taking off work. They cancelled at the last minute stating they would reschedule. Took them to court and to top it all off lied under oath!!! Dishonest, careless and horrible people!!!
I have used U&I Movers Express now for two household moves, both local. I cant say enough about their services. Anyone who has moved knows that its a stressful time, and my last move (10/2014) was no exception. Scott and crew made that part as simple as they could. They worked with me even as circumstances outside of anyones control made our items have to sit on their truck for a few days until we could get into our new home. They packed everything securely, professionally, and they had a great crew on both the load up, and unload. I would definitely use again! Nice job!
Awesome moving company. Would not hesitate to use again.
Long story short - If you would like to have a price stated for your belongings to be moved(after sending an itemized furniture list, house sq footage, etc), Have U & I fill their truck 2/3 of the way full and then TRIPLE your price, bring more men then stated (and charge you for it)and then break your nicest piece of furniture - U&I Movers are for you.But for those of you that cant resist salting an abrasion - U & I Movers Express will be sure to assure you that the parts they brokewill be fixed. Every week. For 13 weeks...
These people are the awesome.! they are On time with fair pricing excellent service and flexibility. Just the best!!
My mom called on Thursday to set up a simple piano move for friday...just moving it down the hall. They said they had a move on the west side of Gb and that they would call when they were finished. We set up with a neighbor to be here when they called. They never called or showed up. We even called around 3 on Friday to see what was going on and were told that they would call when on their way. They never called and never showed up. They lost our business!!
I was moving out of my parents house and had very few supplies so they made sure I had all the boxes and tape I needed to move all of my stuff, along with as much paper as I needed to wrap all my breakable items. All a very affordable price, compared to buying elsewhere.
Awesome Moving Company!
