My experience was horrible. Reserved the vehicle online 2 weeks in advance. I was to pick up the vehicle at 9 am. Conner, the employee, did not show up until almost 9:30 am. He informed me that the vehicle I had reserved was not there and that he would need to wait on everyone else (6 other customers) then make a call to the owner to see what to do. One of the other customers spoke up and said that he was returning his vehicle 2 days early and it was a minivan. Conner said, okay then you can have his. Conner never inspected the car and took the guys word for it that there was a 1/2 tank of gas in it....wrong it was at a 1/4. The car was not cleaned or checked. Conner is a poster child for CUSTOMER NO SERVICE! Enterprise will get my business next time because Hertz is Hurting.

Love our local Hertz rental location! Always great people who are a pleasure to deal with! They can get a bit busy, so its a good idea to reserve your car early if you can! But I always feel well taken care of when renting here, and they will always get my car rental business! 👍

BEWARE - DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION OR HERTZ IN GENERAL! On Saturday, 11/4/2016, my husband and I flew into the county airport at Grass Valley CA. We rented a car from the Hertz location there. The Hertz employee drove to the airport to pick me up and bring me back their their office to sign the contract and pick up the car. We only wanted to rent the car for one day and their office was closed on Sunday, so the employee told me to return the car to the airport and leave the keys at the airport office. She entered the return date of 11/5/2016 and return time of 12:00pm on the rental car jacket. We did as we were told and left the car parked where the employee picked me up and left the keys with the airport office on Sunday 11/5. However, when I received my credit card statement a couple of weeks later, I was charged for a rental through 11/9/2016. I called the Grass Valley Hertz office and spoke with the employee I rented the car from and told her about the overcharge. She said she would work with her manager to issue a refund. Nothing happened. I called the office again and spoke to the manager who said he would issue a refund. Nothing happened. I called the manager again and again he said he would issue a refund. No refund was issued. I submitted a charge dispute with my credit card company and they came back with a letter from the Hertz Corporate Office stating the charge was valid and the charge would be reinstated. I called the Hertz Corporate Office myself today and explained the whole story and the person I talked to just restated that the charge was valid and there was nothing there were going to do about it. I told them this location had a lot of bad reviews on Yelp and theyre creating bad pres for Hertz but the Hertz rep couldnt have cared less. If I could give negative stars for this review, and for Hertz in general, I would. Hertz will NEVER get my business again.

We’ve reserved cars in advance from here multiple times and had to wait 6 hours or more to get the vehicle that we reserved weeks in advance. Not only that but I accidentally left a computer and a clipboard together in the last vehicle I rented. When I went back a day later after I realized it, they had not called me when they found them in the car, but they also claimed to never find a computer just the clipboard. I know it’s my fault, but I don’t do business with dishonest people. I’ll rent from Enterprise from now on.

If you can, avoid this Hertz rental. Ive rented with hertz abroad as well as elsewhere in the US and have had fine service, but the GV branch is useless. Customer service was non existent. Ended up cancelling my reservation with them. Will never go back.

HORRIBLE! I had a 4:30 reservation to pick up a car, showed up to a sign saying back in 20 minutes and waited outside an hour in 90+ degree heat. The agent was extremely rude, never apologized or even acknowledged me. He handed me the keys and left without even telling me which car I had! Then he charged me for 7 days because HE closed early on Saturday (I had the car 4 days - which was my reserved time). Car was dirty! NEVER AGAIN!

I dont rent very often, but when I do I always rent from this location. Generally they are on time. The cars are ALWAYS dirty. My last experience was horrible. The car I reserved over a week in advance wasnt available on time. I had to come back on a break to retrieve the vehicle later in the day. Not even so much as a We are sorry for the inconvenience. Of course the car was FILTHY. Trash, dog hair, spilt milk (I hope) I had to go clean the windshield myself before I could head out. Ridiculous.

This is the worst place in Grass Valley to rent a car. They have literally 2 cars. I was stuck there for an hour and a half waiting for another customer to return. Then when they finally arrived. Hertz didnt even clean the car or do a walk around. Another customer came in while I was waiting and was told to wait as well. She decided after 20 min or so to cancel her rental. When she left the employees talked about how impatient she was. The girl that was working the front counter was extremely rude and was cussing about customers being late returning the cars.

We were overcharged (late fee and for extending the reservation). We returned the car 17 hours before it was due and was never told over the phone that there is a charge to extend a reservation.Called the office to rectify the overcharges. Agent acted as he was doing me a favor to remove the extra charges, put me on a lengthy hold and told me he would try to submit the claim to the billing department and we should hear back in 3-4 weeks. Initial pick up was smooth and professional.

2nd rental experience here.. first one they gave me a damaged car and today came to pick up my rental to get to the airport to catch a flight and they tell me that they don’t have a car for me.. not offering any help whatsoever.. hopefully be able to find another rental company that has a car last minute to catch my international flight. Absolutely ridiculous.

I did not want to give this rental office a second chance, but I was forced to today. Yet when I called, I was put through to voicemail. I have never been put through to voicemail by a rental car location. I am going to complain to Hertz corporate office once again about this sorry local office. The owners need to sell this location to someone who cares and also knows how to run a good business. And it is obvious that any 5 star rating on this site is from friends of the owners. This is literally the worst rental office I have ever encountered, and I rent cars at least once a month.

Well wont go into details but just grateful it was only a car! So next step must rent a car and w only 2 choices in this area Friday nothing was available calls back n worth to hertz n the other guys just wanted a car... n oh wow! the mandatory deposit w the e boys unreal tears my insurance will reimburse me help call hertz back n oh breathe a lovely young woman not sure if I should use her name? but gee do i appreciate her kindness n making a car available to me she made it painless and much better price helped bloodpressure so Im am just able to things done so to all looking to rent a car hertz by far FYI bring drivers license cc. n just dont take the car to Mexico No problem !!!

Ive rented from this specific set of owners during the first of each month (or so) for the past many Many, MANY months and I can honestly say that they have treated me with nothing but respect and friendly, small town (like it was when I grew up in the area and every one knew everyone else) professional service. Those old times were when people respected each other too, so I return it like it was their car, not mine - I have it vacuumed, I wash it, and I completely top off the gas and I double check the oil; just what one neighbor does for another when they are loaned a car for use - money or no money exchanged. Its just the right thing to do.They rent me a clean car with gas, and I return a clean car with a full tank. Ive NEVER had a problem with them - and they have shown me MORE courtesy and politeness than Id ever expect to receive.They have gone beyond the call of duty - when someone wanted to rent a small truck, they didnt have any, and the owners knew several people with good conditioned used trucks for sale, and perhaps they could set up a deal. The person was furious that they didnt have any trucks on the lot and left in a furry. To me that is about an above board honest offer as I could ever expect from a place that rented cars for a living -- and it was refused. By an ungrateful and I am certain former customer.Treat people nicely, and you will be given the same respect back. They are in business to make money, but sometimes they simply cannot deliver - one day I needed to keep a car an extra day, and they couldnt do it, they were down to only two cars, and three were to be rented, so I had to bring the car in by 9 or 10. Living in a small town does have some limitations, but if you understand that these are a small business ownership and they cannot provide the services that a large volume business can then you wont have any problems.Call ahead, as you would for any reservation, and you wont have any surprises - they have even referred people to other rental places near by, they did me, and I was thankful - but always went back to them - Loyalty and honesty will give you FAR more breaks and rule bending than being a foul-mouth ruffian full of threats of all kinds. Ive seem them at the counter, and all the person behind the counter can do is give me one of those Yep, every one has one, but most people keep it covered up. looks.Cant say enough good about them, and absolutely nothing even approaching a warning to watch out for -- they are simple, good, kind people who are simply trying to make a living giving a service to this area. And its not always easy, but with a call a few days ahead, they will have you a vehicle to rent. And a good one, not a sloughed off ready for sale out of the rental fleet - a good clean car with no problems.Five stars and then some!

2nd time Ive had a car reserved here and needed it for work while my vehicle was being repaired and they said they were out of cars, what good is a reservation if they dont save you a car. And why dont they phone you to save us a trip in? Lousy service! And the lady who worked there the first time was a dragon lady!

They downgraded us and argued with me and insisted that this was the car i paid for. I had to call Hertz corporate to have them check and they agreed that they gave me the wrong car and gave me a refund of 400$ for the price difference. But the inconvenience of having the smaller car was the worst part. I wont go there again. They tried to screw me out of 400$

Rented an SUV - it was filthy and smelled like a dog house! When she brought the car up- told her it was the dortest car I had ever rented. She said if I didnt like it - I could go detail it, and she walked away! It was a rental by the INS. Co. I will never use Hurts!

Second time Ive made a reservation and theyve had no cars available. Service is generally mediocre and somewhat unfriendly. Cars are not usually clean. Rented car seats once, they didnt notice this on the reservation, so they didnt provide the seats, car seats were disgustingly dirty and were missing straps. I had to swap seats three times while I figured out by myself how to install them. Avoid if you can.

I would give it a 0 if i could the guy never called me to swap out a car when he said he would. Called for over a hour to have him not answer then i dive 30 to return car and he closed early. Now on phone with customer service for a hour trying to figure out how to return car. Place sucks!!
