My wife Stacey and I began looking for a custom builder to help us make our dreams come true by developing a vacation cottage and eventually our permanent residence on a 3 acre undeveloped lakefront property. Based on recommendations from others and our personal meetings and evaluations, we choose Johnson Group Builders to help our visions become a reality.Doug Wickens was our first contact with the company and he quickly instilled in a us a sense of trust. He was our project manager, guiding us through the process, developing a budget and timeline, and helping us to understand the entire project. There were elements of the project we were very clear about, and other parts where we just werent sure what we wanted to do. That is where the rest of the team stepped in and contributed to our complete satisfaction.Mike Van Horn was the architect for our project and he did a remarkable job of listening to what was important to us and blending it with suggestions that were relevant to our personal styles and desires. The 3D renderings that accompanied the plans were incredibly helpful in turning drawings into a visual understanding of what we were developing together. The plans to build the cottage were completed in (2) revisions (preliminary and final) with minimal alterations to get from where we started to what was built. His ideas were smart and consistent with our desires for the project.Ivan Wickens and Amy Riebel took the plans and helped us to add the style and personal touches we wanted into our own space. They guided us through selection processes and did a fantastic job of managing the execution of the building process, especially since we were doing this from over 400 miles away. They were flexible in meeting with us and very accommodating throughout the entire process. Both Ivan and Amy have the highest of standards regarding quality and the expertise to be very effective in both encouraging and tempering (when necessary) our styles to develop a wonderful finished project.Tim Johnson was a pleasure to work with as well and we are very much looking forward to developing our dream home with Tim and his team. Our project has several unusual challenges, but based on our experience so far and what the Johnson Builders Group has demonstrated to us in their professionalism, attention to detail, and craftsmanship, we are so excited about the journey we are on with this team.

We had our house built by the Johnson Group about 15 months ago. There were many issues during the building process and had issues with the house soon after it was built. They took care of some and others have dragged on. I gave Tim Johnson a list of issues before our 1 year was up. He fixed some. Ive been trying to contact him for 2 months to finish the rest. Tim will not return my voice mails or texts. Definitely look somewhere else if your in the market for a builder.

Horrible experience. Took Tim Johnson 10 months to complete our house when he promised it in six months. No communication, horrible craftsmanship and lack of attention to detail. Had numerous problems w the house after moving in. Had to get a lawyer involved to get his attention. Took for ever to get some repairs completed and some were never done. Been 3 years and still having problems. Do not use these people. They have no idea what they are doing. Total incompetence.

Tim did an amazing job from start to finish on our house. He was very attentive throughout the entire process. We would build with Revive by Johnson Group again in a heartbeat! Whether you are looking for a renovation or a custom build, Revive by Johnson Group will not disappoint!

Johnson Group Builders have been great to work with during the process of building our new home! So many people talk about their building experience as being extremely stressful and problematic, however, for us, it’s been quite smooth. The team is great to work with....always receptive and responsive. Many of their standard selections are what other builders would consider high upgrades (granite/quartz, painted and glazed cabinets all with soft close, beautiful engineered hardwood floors, etc.). Our new house looks like I’m living in a Chip and Joanna Gaines house! Thank you Johnson Group Team!!!

Wow, what a great expietence! I was lucky enough to be able to work with Amy (recommended by a family member) and it could not have gone any better. Amy was more than willing to go above and beyond with her service for me. There was never any questions that weren’t answered same day and always made great suggestions. I have already recommended Amy to others and you would be missing out if you didn’t jump on the opportunity to do so yourself.

We are very happy with ReVive by Johnson Group. They did an amazing job transforming our outdated kitchen to exactly what we wanted.....stylish and affordable as well. Amy is a very good designer who had great ideas for us.....we couldn’t have done it without her! I would highly recommend ReVive!

We had a great experience with the Johnson Group when building our house on Lake Michigan. We enjoyed the can do attitude as well as ideas during the process.

I was very excited to build a house but the experience was not what I expected. My family was told countless lies and excuses for this companys terrible work. That caused the excitement to turn into anger and irritation. I would not recommend the Johnson Group to anyone.

Worst experience ever! 205 days, 6 1/2 months and are house hasnt been completed. Mistakes have been made repeatedly and we have been lied to more than once. The work that they do is unsatisfactory.
