Brunaugh Construction completed our 2 story 1,300 sq ft home addition in St. Louis County, on budget and ahead of schedule. Their professionalism throughout the project was excellent and most importantly they did what they said they would do when they said they would do it. Equally as important to the quality of the work was the respect their on site team showed for our family. We have 4 young children and their team was always courteous, friendly and mindful that we were at home during the construction. We grew accustomed to seeing them every day and they became part of our life for 4 months. We are thrilled with our home addition and would highly recommend Brunaugh

Im just now deciding to write this review since were having some quality issues after being back home for only 4 months. I have a laundry list things from the experience as a whole, but we are ultimately disappointed in the lack of communication, workmanship, and lack of importance in how our job was handled. First we were given Covid as the reason for delays because nobody wanted to work. Even when we were finally able to move in workers still had to fix issues that were overseen for another two weeks. This included things like painting, cleaning, installing handles and trim on cabinetry, cutting bolts on the toilet, replacing the HVAC system, and a dryer vent that I had to convince them was actually there before they demolished everything. What wasnt being replaced or re-installed was supposed have been heavily cleaned. Im pretty sure nothing was touched. The water heater was still was covered with soot and dust, lights and fans were hung back up with dirt and even paint among other things that had to be cleaned when we moved back in. Painting was extremely inconsistent. We were told to pick a color from a specific paint brand that wasnt used. When questioned why that brand wasnt used I was told the workers could pick what they prefer. Then when asked about the inconsistency I was told that people can nitpick and that maybe whatever was on the walls before was causing an issue with coverage. The brick walls in the basement supposedly were done 3 times and still looked untouched. I literally could see lines from a metal conduit being moved. After we moved back in they painted it for the 4th time and it finally covered. The issue with that is the carpet had then been installed and I can see where fresh paint stops and the old starts. Paint was speckled on windows, window sills, vent covers, and base boards. Some things we were asked for input and decisions, however, others were done without our knowledge. Some things we were under the impression were being done, but didnt happen. Workers never cleaned up after themselves. Unfortunately being 30 minutes away we werent able to watch over every detail, and honestly I dont think anyone should have to do that. When I questioned workmanship or how something was constructed I was basically told they were only able to do so much and it was the best they could do. Im well aware there is a process and I tried to let them do their job, but when your neighbors tell you they see the workers outside smoking more than working Im sure that is why we got what we got. Since moving back in there are some things/issues that were pretty sure werent there before construction. Unfortunately we cant prove it. I feel like our house was literally thrown together in a matter of 3 weeks even though the project took almost 7 months from start to finish. Its very disappointing because Ive heard great reviews on the company from friends and family that have had work done. To be honest I kind of took it personally and feel a certain kind of way about it. I felt as if we werent given the same priority as any other customer wouldve been.

The guys were always here on time. I got a timely quote and they were able to start my job relatively quickly. I would use these guys again, and recommend them to anyone looking to get some work done.
