I am a middleschool principal, and I needed some nice fresh slacks, dress shirts,, and ties.. I paid 150 for a whole new wardrobe of name brand clothes barely worn. It is always VERY clean, organized, and tidy. The people are extremely friendly and helpful, too. Ill never buy clothes new again.
SUPER clean and organized! Everything is in good condition too. Definitely cheaper than other thrift stores too found lots of children’s books for only $0.50! Would definitely recommend :)
Fun place to thrift shop... Nicely organized. The clothes are like new, clean & fresh smelling... Like they have been washed before going on the sales floor
Lots of things! Very clean and organized, I would come back but not for clothes because of my own personal interest in attire lol. But I would definitely recommend!!
This is the thrift store by which all should be judged against. Nicely organized and easy to find items by category. So clean youd swear it was a retail store and amazing finds for such reasonable prices. I bought a near new industrial style chandelier originally from Restoration hardware for 30$ (retails 450). Jimmy Choo pumps for 5$ and a brand new in box braintap meditation headset for 5 (originally 500). Staff are eager to help. Linens, clothing and household items are a steal and many items in near new condition.
Such a great store! Harrison is always so helpful and funny and kind; I wish him nothing but the best!
Actually, best prices around in comparison to other thrift stores and its clean...thats a really nice plus.
Just an FYI..this is owned by the Mormons.
This second hand store has geniuses clothing and other household goods.Fun way to kill time and find good bargins!
Devin was really sweet and helpful. There was a black metal portable tv projector stand I was interested in and I had a lot of questions on how to mount everything. Devin helped me see the use of bolts and how to add a shelf. I cant wait to use it for my friends and family to watch movies by the pool. Thanks Devin 🙋
Great stuff, great prices
I love going there. They have gigantic variety of so much stuff and prices are low.
I go to thrift stores several times a week looking for pieces to upcycle. Deseret industries is by far the best. They have the lowest prices and are very clean. I’ve had lots of great finds here!! Highly recommend you visit
Everything is priced to MOVE, no waiting for a special half off days like Goodwill. The place always smells good and the staff are very helpful. If you drop off for donations they ask if you want a receipt every time (for taxes).I go here practically once a week.
Love this place! Clean and well organized, great prices!
Very reasonable prices. A good selection of items. Wish they had more clothing racks, so I could look through them easier. Clothing is bunched together on the racks. Friendly employees.
Good prices like a thrift shop should be. Unlike the big chain thift stores that have essential junk at high prices
Wonderful place, great service, great prices clean and orderly.
This is a great thrift store! That is, until you ask a worker for help or need to check out.95% of the workers there are pretentious and seem like they are too good to help.Maybe it’s my skin color? Because my Caucasian grandfather gets treated well here.
Best 2nd hand store! Neat, clean. Organized. Very friendly staff. Doesnt feel like a used/clothing, etc.... store...
Clean, staff is amazing, but most importantly they help those in need.
Very clean. Always well stocked with high quality items. New items are brought out onto the floor all day long. Great place to shop. Staff is super friendly. Reasonably priced.
Make sure when purchasing furniture that you either take it with you or take a picture of the price and the item with your sold ticket. I bought a dresser at one price, the associate filled out the sold ticket for me and told me I could pick it up within 24 hours. I returned the next night to pick it up and they had removed my sold ticket and raised the price by $70 and then tried to tell me I couldnt have the dresser and would give me my money back. I did end up leaving with the dresser after an exchange of words. I will never purchase another item from here. Completely dishonest business practices!!!
My experience was fantastic. I bought a very large, comfortable and clean chair for $15. It was a great deal! The cashier was smiling and friendly. The two guys that helped me load it on my truck had great attitudes and were really helpful. Im not a Mormon, but I know the store helps their members who are in need of work and I like that idea. Ill continue shop at this store.
One of the cleanest and best organized thrift stores in the state. Selection and quality of merchandise is always top notch and they understand that donated merchandise should be resold at bargain prices back to the consumer. That us why I will only donate back to Deseret! Donation drop off area is large and well maintained making it fast and easy to donate. Parking is ample and the staff is helpful and always friendly.
Nice nice Store and the way the employees treated us was very friendly. And the prices were great! Everything was organized and it was easy to find what I needed. And great quality of clothing. A very nice place to shop will be back again. Thanks!
This is probably the nicest, most organized thrift store I’ve ever visited. They have a great selection of quality clothes for women (including plus sizes and maternity), men, and kids. Their home section is always well-stocked, and they have a ton of toys and furniture for very reasonable prices. Keep an eye out on your receipt for a survey that’ll earn you 15% off clothing on your next visit!
This place is is like 1000% better that goodwill or any other thrift store, the place is clean and there stuff is priced cheap. Staff is very helpful as well. Also good thing you dont have to ask then to open the fitting rooms and wait 20 mins like at other places hope they open up more stores
100% BETTER than Goodwill in EVERY way!Much MUCH cheaper prices, better quality items (i.e. a lot of clothing is either new or barely worn), friendly, helpful staff, very clean & organized store – absolutely LOVE this store & will for sure be a customer for life!
First time shopping here, and Ill probably never go to another thrift store ever again! Loved it! The place is clean and set up in a way that made me feel like I was shopping in a nice store instead of a thrift store. The employees were very kind to me. Everything was REALLY affordable, less than half the price of the goodwill I usually shop at. I found almost everything I needed and only spent 6 dollars. Clothing was affordable too, so Ill be back to replenish my wardrobe.
A great place to shop. I dont go to any other thrift shops since I found the Deseret!
I am happy to report they are back to the way they began! Great store! I love coming here and bringing the family. Such great finds! And check out their new furniture; we bought a bunk bed for the grand kids!
Best Thrift ever!! the prices are better then other stores Ive shopped at.
Very clean! Extremely well organized. Got a vacuum that looked brand new all the attachments for under $15! Bathrooms were very clean too! Excellent selection on most everything and reasonable prices!!! Service was excellent as well
My kids and I love coming to this place, we prefer this place than Goodwill cause the prices here is reasonable, Employees are friendly and very helpful. Furniture price is a bit high but clothes and other housewares are pretty reasonable. Place is clean and organized, over all experience so far has been very pleasant.
Staff is helpful n friendly. Parking is easy. Good proces pm shoes m purses not clothing was to high priced. Jeans used 7.00 you can buy new t walmart for 7.00 n change. Shirts 5.00 again yo high priced. Lower your clothing prices n ypi would have a regular shopper. Also I didnt get my senior discount
Was going to purchase a picture from them. Had 2 prices on it. Cashier called the manager and asked what price. They said the higher price. Another exact picture in the back had 2 price tags on it too. Should have honored the lower price since the one in back was double priced as well. Manager didnt even come up.
One of the best thrift stores Ive been to! I go weekly and usually find treasures each time! Prices are low and arent determined on brand like many other thrift stores! Great selection
This thrift store displays their goods like a department store. There is very little that says, secondhand merchandise until you see the prices. Large section of womens, teens and childrens clothing. Most tops are $2.00- $4.00 and pants and skirts are usually $4-5.00. The clothing condition is very good nothing that makes me think it should have seen the trash not the recycle store. The hardware, furnishings and outdoor selections are in a separate area at the rear of this large building.Plenty of staff and they have all been friendly and happy to assist each of the four times I have visited here. The condition of the goods for sale is very good to excellent. No shabby dirty or overly worn items.
I love this store!!! Always clean, great selection of almost everything and the PRICES ARE MUCH BETTER THAN GOODWILL AND SALVATION ARMY! Just dont forget to donate your castoffs to them as they do the best job of putting the money where it helps so many people......go see for yourself!!
This is a great store, very clean and organized. I got a lot of clothes that are mostly never worn and name brand (Loft, H&M, Gap, etc..) Staff are friendly and the people who work here are being trained to gain skills they can then use once they are done with the program.I am also very familiar with what they do because I know several many who have benefited from their skills training program. While they are offered employment although it is at a minimum wage and temporary, they can also be enrolled in outside skills training to get certifications and gain better employment. The negative reviews Ive read on here are most likely from those people who are suffering my sense of entitlement syndrome; people who think they deserve everything without having to work hard for it.
I love this store! Everyone is so nice to work with and its easy to tell that this program really makes a difference in helping people in the community. I disagree with the negative reviews, management is doing something right because the employees seem to enjoy what they do.
While the store itself is nice and you find good deals the customers are scary. I picked out two items and some older ladies came to my cart and took them out! I told them they were mine and the lady said they were looking at them first but forgot to grab them(???). I told the manager who talked to them but nothing else was done, not even giving me back the items they took from my cart, again I dont blame Desert industries for their costumers but I dont feel safe going back there.
After K-Mart left the area, I noticed the Deseret Industries store being put up next to Living Spaces. I had no idea what kind of store it was. Since it sits back off the road, it is hard to see from Bell Road. Two signs along Bell are viewable if heading east or west. They say: Deseret Industries, but I do not see Thrift Store with the name. It was only last week when a friend took me to the store that I found out it was a thrift store. More advertising needs to be added to the signs on Bell Road. I love the store. It is clean, well stocked, and I will be back. I think, though, they would get more business if they fixed those signs.
This place is very CLEAN! When you walk in you do not smell the odor of old clothes. They keep it extremely organized and the clothing is categorized. Very pleasant shopping!
Really awesome store, way better than goodwill or savers at least for what I needed. Cheap prices and the store is very well organized and clean. Ill definitely be coming here with friends again.
This store has some of the highest quality womens business clothing anywhere! I shop here at least monthly.
The even have brand new clothes at thrift prices. Store is clean and bright. Good selection. A+
Nice clean thrifty store. I always find good stuff; especially cloths. KUDOS
Love it here...buy all my work clothes there
I love going there always clean an very helpful staff
Great place, Great prices. Nice peopleThank you
I was very impressed with the products, the cleanliness, and the customer service. The prices were fair and selection large. In every way a positive experience.
I just hope they dont be like Goodwill.Torn shirt for 6 or 7 bucks .
Very clean!! It is the best. We always find great tresures here.
Love this place. Close to my home. Cleanest thrift store I have been inAnd super good prices.
This place is always clean. Knick knacks are always priced well but cant say that for the clothes. Other than that this place is great!
Disgraceful having that GM as a representative of the Latter Day Saints run operation. No wonder so many people have wrote about the rude staff, Id prob end up rude as well if I worked for him. This company that is supposed to be about being kind and charitable is anything but as long as he works there. Advice to corporate: assess the kindness of your management team and ask yourself, is this how we want to represent ourselves and our church?
Recently went into the new Glendale store. It was so clean, I enjoyed being there and found many useful items I needed at a price I could afford. Thank you DI
The cleanest most reasonably priced thrift store around.
It looked very organized and clothes were very cheap. Most of them looked like they were in good condition. Much better than Goodwill.
Best thift store Ive ever been to! Its clean, organized, and staff is very friendly. After shopping here I will never be going to goodwill again!
One of the cleanest thrift stores I’ve been in! I get lost in here because there are too many good buys.
This store is so clean and easy to shop and look for items! The people who work in the store are so helpful and so eager to help you find what your looking for!
Have a lot of great pieces of clothing
Ive never been to a store like this. Very clean. No musty smell and fair prices. A friend told me about this place now I have been telling others.
My family had a good experience here. Then I happen to read down your reviews. As a business owner Im saddened. It seems to me that your employees are trying to tell you that your programs are not working for them. You may have had success with employees. The one review that really got me was by devin. If you do indeed have dishonesty by your managers then everything your store stands for is false. This left a bad taste in my mouth. Devin Im sorry you had to experience this if somehow I could get your info. I would be willing to interview you. We are a small honest compay. I would be willing to talk about a job offer.
Hello, I am the Store Manager for the Glendale Deseret Industries.I would like to thank all of our wonderful customers who have made this new store a great success. We are meeting and exceeding our goals everyday. I have almost 50 years retail experience. I have done everything from sweep the floors, to senior management, to own my own chain of stores. You will not find a cleaner, better looking, better smelling, friendlier thrift store with the best prices and quality. Our associates are phenomenal. Every day I am greeted by customers telling us how great their experience was, and how they are telling all their friends and neighbors about the store. But dont take it from me. I work here. I promise it will be your best Thrift Store experience. If not, just ask for Bill and we will treat you right.Unfortunately, one or two former associates have made it a point to post negative reviews on this site. Most of them are under assumed or fake names. Deseret Industries purpose is to help place people in permanent jobs. The proceeds from our sales go to promote this training program and our Humanitarian efforts in this country and around the world. I am confident if you are to ask any of our current 77 associates they will respond positively as to their experience here. We love our customers and I love my job! Look forward to seeing you.
It is GREAT for everyday low prices. When I thrift shop I tend to spend a couple hours looking at all the offerings, and trying things on but here I spent 4 hours. I found it difficult, annoying and even painful to shop. Lift a heavy stack of bowls while bent over; squat and pick up; reach high and pick up, squat low, back up, squat low, back up. The racks they use are NOT shopper-friendly. I am disabled, it was too much of a workout. Too frustrating, I wont be back. Here is why I got annoyed:CLOTHES: Deseret uses a certain over-sized thin bar-style metal hangar that makes horrific indentations in the shoulders of every knit top or sweater. Thats t-shirts folks, and these indentations generally do not wash out if they have been that way for more than a day or two. Once that fabric gets stretched out of shape it will not revert back. All the tops I tried on looked very odd and I could not buy as the shoulder areas had noticeable ugly fabric bulges and valleys. Pity, given the good prices. I also saw quite a few things with holes or stains so while prices are low I cannot say I was impressed by the quality. Also frustrating was how they organize the clothes onto racks. They have racks and racks, and racks!! but NOT racked by each size. Example: they have about 8 racks of ladies skirts, but each one has ALL the sizes S, M, L and XL. So to look at all the offerings in your size(s) you have to look at every rack. And then I couldnt easily keep track of which rack I had already visited due to lack of indicators for what the rack contains. I even saw employees standing there staring, puzzling over where to put the garments they held. If you are shopping for dresses, skirts, shorts, pants, and tops you might end up looking at every single rack on the floor!!! Employees tell me thats just how Corporate wants it, no reasons why. HOUSEHOLD GOODS: Two store sections for this, one is a huge back room with a sign saying YARD or something like that. There must be 75 racks, all a jumbled heavy-laden mess that made me say OMG about 10 times. Apparently the stuff just gets tossed onto these over-sized 3-shelf racks without any eye to display - only according to what sort of thing goes on that rack. With only 3 shelves per unit things get stacked high, no order, heavy things on top of lightweight, no concern for breakage. I found a thin vintage dresser-top mirror 12 x 24 randomly shoved into and under a pile of heavy things, - broken. The rack with metal goods was a huge jumbled mess so badly entangled no one would even be able to pull an item out to look at. In the regular part of the store are rows of smaller racks again according to type of ware stacked on it. The top shelf is too high (and I am 59) and the bottom one to low - I actually gave up squatting down and SAT on the floor to look at plates - of all things. The decorative items, toys, etc are in the regular store, on narrow racks again with 3 shelves. Easier to see but the stuff is just tossed on, in many cases in a heap. It is unsightly, ungainly and not enticing at all. I never did get to the textiles - bedding and such. I was exhausted.
So neat...so oranized..great prices...Nice items..big inside..good parking..good hours..Nice Place.
Awesome store. A thrift store that doesnt smell like one!!! My wife and I love this place.
Omg, the store and all its merchandise was so clean and quality and the service was over the top. Will definitely return.
Very well organized store. Very helpful people.
Love this place great prices and very friendly staff.
A great thrift spot. Clean, reasonable and friendly
We had funel to go to found name brand shoes cheap. In great shape. And ties. Stocking. Saved the day
This is not what they advertise. It is clean, has good merch, but all of the money goes to the Mormon LDS church, and if you want a job, you have to go through the Bishop at the Church as well. It is connected to a Mormon outreach center, and is an extension of the church itself. It does not follow the state rules, and everyone who works there is affiliated with LDS in some fashion. As a Jew married to a Wiccan with a Jewish child, I will take my thrift dollars elsewhere thank you very much.
Great place for good deals and the way goodwill is pricing their items this might be the only place to shop.
I love shopping at DI. Good items reasonably priced. Not everyone can afford New so this helps alot.
Good prices and nice stuff
I love shopping at Deseret Industries.its very clean, well organized, and the prices are fair.Selection is amazing and the staff is helpful and friendly.
Very clean and very reasonable prices and great items..best thrift store ive run across.

Clean and well organized and funds are used to help community members.
Prices awesome and store smells nice and clean. The people that work there are very friendly.
Most wonderful, everyone were helpful, respectful and always willing to help.
Well organized, clean and spacious. Very friendly people
Would give 5 star if not for losers that squat all day every day for carts do you have a life if this is the way you make a living you must be broke twits living in ghetto apartments...try estate sales, auctions, flee markets...limiting yourself to 6 days a week all day every day lame ...aim low losers...besides that found some nice stuff at great prices.
Thrift store has lots of variety. Clean mostly organized.
The quality of used items, like new half the price of goodwill
Great selection of goods. Very large and clean store.
Clean, friendly, and great prices. This place has it all!
Very clean store and great prices!
Wow Bill you have to be the rudest, selfish person I met. You could not drop an item I wanted by $10.00 bucks. I ended up coming back buying another item. And when I pull in back the item I wanted two days before was in a back garbage can. I asked a worker on crunches if Bill was in. He said Bill is never here. While I had bill paged. Not to be found So next time when a customer only has so much money. Think about it Mr 50 years experience. You lost a sale because you wanted more money. Now that $70.00 sale just went to the dump. So Bill I think you need to check your review. Are you really the right person for the job. We donate to you so you can have jobs. Im a savers girl anyway.
