Went with a group on a Sun morning right when they opened. Had no reservations. Everything went well! Only a short wait and was a perfect time to buy a few buckets of carrots to feed the horses.Great staff and guide. Fun ride for a first time. The horses looked taken care of, were all well behaved, and there are certain sections where they galloped quickly in short bursts.
The experience is awesome. The workers are very polite and joyful. And if you would like an interesting ride ask for Bacon, he loves to be in front and he goes a bit fast. So if you would like a bit on speed, ask for Bacon. But overall, this is a wonderful place. I would go back 1,000 times over.
We took a ride at LA House Rentals several years ago and enjoyed ourselves a lot. Weve now set up a 4th of July one hour horse ride with two families involved. All people we talked to, there, from the stable hand to the office people were all wonderful and friendly. Everything was set up smoothly and my confirmation arrived in my email as I was driving away. Ill update after my Sunday ride...

I personally like taking the horse out on my own for an hour but if you dont mind a tour guide its an all right ride but the best part is my four-year-old got to go with me and my oldest son
Came here last summer and had a positive experience! The staff was professional and patient with lesser experienced riders (like myself), and I got to request the type of tour. Prices very per tour.Parking lot is large enough to accommodate several vehicles, including large trucks and RVs. You must sign a waiver before your ride. Arrive early enough to complete your waiver.Tip: Stretch your legs and arms before your ride to warm up & after your ride to prevent muscle injuries. If you dont stretch, you may feel sore muscles that evening or the following day. Trust me on this! .. LOL!Thanks for reading my review!

Had a great experience with my private trail ride with Nico. Took my 7yo for her first real horse ride experience. Previously she only rode the Pony rides. She did well and the horses were well kept. The trail was very green and beautiful going around the back roads. It got pretty hot and recommend going early before noon. We all wore masks. It helps keep the dust out of our lungs. A few parts on the trail the horses cantered but no full runs. They pretty much kept the ride not too dangerous. They also provide instructions on a board when you get there of how to ride which was helpful to reinforce what I was telling my 7yo. Julie in the office was very patient and calm in helping set me up over phone and text. Thanks Julie! Next we’ll try their group ride.
Good riding I will be back but I think you should probably change trails I go a lot everything is good but just different trails would be perfect

Great experience! Me and my daughter went for her 17th birthday and she loved it! The views while riding were so beautiful! The trail guide was nice and took a picture for us! $40 for an hour ride. I will definitely be back!
My kids loved it, only place that allows toddlers to ride with an adult. Highly recommend it, really nice people working here.

Went for my little sisters birthday 🎂 08/29/20 ;Knowing her she’s loves horses and it would make her day however the employees there were so blunt and robot like I wish I remembered their names but I do remember the guides horses name is “lobo” the whole ride not one word was said and not one chance to take pictures. The whol ride felt so awkward. He really killed the vibe and experience. So a piece of advise to the lady (red bandana) that signed us in and the guide (carthartt hat) ; if you don’t like the people you’re guiding just simply state you don’t want to attend them or if you’re simply not having a good day don’t ride with others. In addition if you simply don’t like your jobs get up and do something else because those vibes definitely sink into others.. aside from that, the employees whom helped us mount the horses were amazing so thank you...

Thus is how trail riding should be. The horses were well taken care of and energetic. they were not exhausted and just followed each other at a slow boring pace like EVERY SINGLE trail ride I have ever been on. Instead it was a perfect mix if a little walking but instead of ignoring you when you urged them to go little faster they actually went a little faster and in the direction you asked them to to. Me and my daughters had a blast.

Waste of money and time. If you are interested for eating dust and view of the street and wire fence, then go for it. Also our guide just minded his own business riding behind us and the only English words he knew was left, rigt, stop.
I have visited Griffith Park Horse Rentals a few times now and it is the best horse rental/stable in Los Angeles. The horses are well taken care of, the staff and people who work there are incredibly friendly, and the trail ride is beautiful. Today, we rode with a younger trail guide, and he was wonderful! I will 100% be back to ride again!

The area is littered and crowded. Waited a full hour on line in no shade just to reach the ticket window....where we were told it was another 2 hour wait to ride. After checking out tickets could be used another day, we left, with really disappointed 7 and 10 year olds.

I believe they overcharge people. I weighted myself the other day and they said I was 30 pounds higher. They charge based on weight and I feel scammed.

Wanted to celebrate my girlfriends birthday with the true love of her life, horses. Yet, being received after point of sale was honestly uncomfortable to say the least. We round the building, read the sign as instructed and had a gentlemen who showed some hospitality approached us for any questions. After I reassured him in Spanish that I was the first time rider he addressed any misunderstandings I had and explained. I entered the area and greeted the two men who were sitting on the fence. One young man and another elderly man. They just stared at us not attempting to return a greeting or welcome us whatsoever. Aside from their disgruntled stares I genuinely felt these were customers and not workers: that’s how Unprofessional it felt. 15 mins later the young man approached us, still tight mouthed and non-conversational. Simply saying, “ Get on.” Not specifying to whom or what horse allthewhile pulling the horse I was going to ride in a malicious manner. This Made me feel Uncomfortable.That was the 1st red flag. We mounted and were on our way when I asked,” Is somebody coming with us?”. and was ignored. There I was riding toward the trail for my first time ever where out of nowhere our guide comes trailing behind us. I was relieved. My girlfriend knew more than I so she began instructing me. Our guide was the older man who similar to the young man Didn’t even give any instruction despite my back to back questions I was asking my girlfriend. I alerted the guide that my horse had tremors which I felt consistently with a similar spot . Without even looking my direction he was like it’s a fly. I replied there is no fly and he Insisted without any concern for the horse . I couldn’t help but connect the dots of the spasms the horse had and the picture I have of the young man dragging my horse out against its will. We continued until my horse began to get unresponsive to my directions and wanting to gallop. As I was pulling left the tail end of my horse was drifting right and kicked my girlfriends ankle and horse she mounted. Finally he opens his mouth not to explain or aid us But to reprimand us like children. We told him we didn’t feel comfortable and was arguing with us as if it’s a debate. I know he has the pointers and tips but his apathy and negligence is a risk I was not willing to take.

Never ridden but I always take a group, buy carrots from the rentals place and then youre allowed to feed carrots to the horses and pet them. Buying a bucket of carrots is basically your admission to the stables. You can buy a handful or a bucket. Nice people.

I would like to give this place more stars...The Horses were amazing and the trails were beautiful.. However, as an experienced horse rider this ride was too much trotting( some cantering) and not enough WALKING... Our guide kept us moving at such a fast pace, I felt like I was cattle on a cattle drive.... I understand that we were the last ride of the day but it felt like he was trying to get it over with and I know that we were not out for a full hour, more like 45 minutes... I was looking for a relaxing ride in the mountains and it felt like more of a race to the finish.....
This was a lot of fun. My wife loves to horseback ride and the price is fantastic. The temperature was really hot so we got there at 8 in the morning. Knowing the price is a bit more for over 200 lbs I went on a diet and made sure I was below 190 before this trip.My wife loved the ride though she was jealous my horse was always in the lead. I road Prince and she road Apple. Her favorite thing is to trot a bit and Prince knew when it was appropriate and Apple would follow along.We only went for 1 hour. Next time well do the ride to the Hollywood sign!

An awesome first time visit for the wife and I! Brought her here for her birthday and she absoultely loved it. Albert was out guide and he did a wonderful job taking care of us along the trail. The owner and the guide were very friendly. Out of the gate, my horse was veering the wrong way. My horse was not cooperating for some reason. The guide even admitted to the fact that the horse was not listening to me. As the horse drove me through trees multiple times, no assistance from the guide to pull the horse away. My shirt and pants became filled with dirt and stains. No compensation. I reported this to the owner and she says that you should not ask for Daisy [the name of the horse] next time. I didnt ask for any specific horse this time either. I expected either a refund or a discount of some kind as compensation; even a free ride next time I bring my family would have been a decent gesture. There are other horse rentals on the same street for the same price. Id suggest using a different rental company.

I was there for my 2 hours ride yesterday and Brooke my guide was awesome 😁 the mountain view and the city view from the mountain trail are beautiful, even tho I hiked and rode my mountain bike on those mountains its different looking at those mountains on the back of a horse..I will surely bring my friends next time I come here. Oh and Im looking forward to ride Heartthe horse again 🐎🐎🐎

Called over the phone telling them we 15 people and they said we will be discounted 5$ for every horse.. because we had over ten people got there and they didn’t discount me for any..and was told over the phone it will be 10$ extra for over 250 pounds.. got there they charged me extra 75$ On top of the 30$😳 for each person over 250$..then asked to see it in contract and was told she was the owner and next time Don’t listen to anyone over the phone..was very disappointed.. other than that the ride was fun
Im so very sad that they will be forced to close. Ive been going there for years. It was always so wonderful - beautiful horses, scenic trail and wonderful people. Julie is such a kind person. I hope they are able to find another location near by.

Took my 11-year-old grandson for a 90-minute ride... Friendly staff, good horses ( Daisy & Ed) and a very friendly tour guide. We did the Sky Ridge trail and the scenery was beautiful. Jay took some really nice pictures of us. May have been the best trail ride I have ever done!

My 3yr old daughter is a HUGE animal lover and I bring her here to enjoy the 20min trail ride available for the younger kids and she LOVES it! We always have a blast when we come, she likes to claim that Hidalgo is her horse because she request him every time we go, we also enjoy feeding the horses once we are done with our ride. The staff is great and I would recommend anyone to go and enjoy a ride.

Pretty affordable and the horses definently have their own personalities mine kept drifting towards his friend which kinda gets you a new friend for the trail Haha. The guides and the horses know what theyre doing fully. They also provide bilingual services.

We love the day camp here because the campers ride more and spend more time with the horses than another camp that we tried. The kids are welcomed on all school holidays, besides summer, winter and spring break.
Our tour guide was Miguel who was very professional! My 6 yo daughter went and my 60 yr old mom ...the horses they picked out were a perfect match for them! Seude and Texas and Tiger were wonderful horses !All the horses were well taken care of. Barn was clean! All horses fat and healthy!I was hesitant to go bc some of the negative reviews ...but so glad I went to see for myself!As an avid horse owner and enthusiast... I highly recommend them!

Terrible customer service. Not family friendly . Id look elsewhere if you have little ones around 7-8 years old. Tried to tell me my 7 year old was not going to hang on the 1 hour trail ride and suggested that I not let her attempt. My daughter has experience but the woman was persistent that she wasnt ready for the trail ride. My daughter had so much fun on the 1 hour trail and was ready to go another hour. Terrible experience with the staff though.
