I have been a member of Golds for years and this is far and away the best facility I have ever had the pleasure of joining. Tony Johnson (GM) was so incredibly helpful and personable the first time I met him. He spoke to me as a friend upon first meeting and made sure that I was perfectly paired with a trainer that was certified and specialized in the exact types of physical fitness I was looking for. He works hard to create a family environment, not only among his staff but also amongst every member that joins. My Trainer Antonio Alvarez is also stupendous. A vast anatomical knowledge and drive to custom design fitness programs to each of his clients needs makes him great. Also, he is incredibly communicative and always responds to me through the Golds Gym App whenever I have a question about a particular exercise.I drive from North Hollywood to this Location because if you are in LA, this is the only Golds Gym you should want to go to.Also, the facilities are incredibly clean and organized. Two Thumbs up and 5 Stars!!!

This has to do more with the people that go here and not the gym itself. People here never put their weights back, you end up spending 30 minutes just looking for equipment. It’s like they think their mom works there.Don’t be that guy or girl, put your weight back where you got it. Don’t be lazy! Also, it tends to always be busy.

I was hesitant to join this gym. Hearing all the bad reviews and experiences from others who had frequented this gym. I decided to give it a chance and go sign up for a membership. 5 mins of just standing at the front desk and I was completely ignored. After working in costumer service, I realize these jobs arent easy. That first impression set the tone for what I could expect from this gym.

Got 18 months paid in full membership for very reasonable deal. Much less than their listed prices.Equipment is good, but a couple cable machines always seem to be out of order.Bathrooms are clean, and have staff clean them quite often. They provide sprays/towel to disinfect equipment yourselves before use.Crowds can be heavy, but expected when membership costs are almost 1/2 of competitors.

Here I thought my experience was “unique” until I started reading the reviews.. I too am one of many victims that have fallen for this gyms predatory behavior. I canceled my membership right after the second shutdown, not only was it extremely difficult they gave me the runaround and a heavy dose of attitude. As soon as gyms reopened they began charging my account without my knowledge. And now 12 months later, here I am actively fighting a dispute of over $720 with a membership that’s somehow is still active even after begging them to cancel it. One of the staff member even acknowledged that I have not been at the gym or signed in, in over 385 days. I’m furious and taking all the necessary steps to not only get my money back, but reporting this facility to the better business bureau and getting lawyers involved. Stay away if you’re considering going here. Your wallet and credit score will thank you.

So I came in to this gym as a guest of one a member. This happened on Sunday were an associate was giving a tour to a potential member and it was a family. So while we were at the locker room changing a woman came in with her son in the women locker and we were shocked that this woman just let her son roam around the locker room. It would have been different if he was younger but he wasnt. I am glad that I am not a member yet. Wheres the privacy... what a horrible experience. I will take my business elsewhere. Wow just read some of their customers review... theyve tons of bad review... cause they dont know how to takw care of their customers.

ROBBED. They extended my membership to May, just in time for me to get vaccinated and sold another membership.Look how many one star reviews, cheated customers, and placeholder sorry notes there are. “We’ll do better in the future.” Doing better is giving some refund or extending the membership which they are capable of doing but are unwilling. Expect to be treated this poorly. Also, don’t enter their training program. Their trainers leave often. They switched out my trainer 3 times on me.

Don’t trust this gym with your money and credit score!! I received a voicemail yesterday saying I needed to update my payment information, so I gave them a call. When I called they said I had an outstanding balance of 270, which I was surprised because I haven’t been in a over a year and froze my account when the shut down happened. They said they emailed me about an outstanding balance on my account, but I never received anything except promotions about adding people to my account.. They made me pay 180 otherwise they would’ve sent it to collections, when I haven’t even gone since the pandemic started. I was able to log into my old email to double check I didn’t miss something and found NOTHING. This place is not a good business. There are plenty of other gyms out there, I suggest trusting some other place.

This gym had nice facilities but is always so so crowded. They’ve canceled towel service because of covid and yet everyone is running around maskless. There seems to be a high number of high schoolers who like to roam around in little insecure gangs and take over a machine for hours on end. My workouts that are meant to be 25 minutes turn into hours cause I’m waiting for all these kids from the Glendale boys and girls club to leave a machine. What is up with people and poor steam room etiquette at this Gold’s Gym too?! Stop going in there with your nasty shoes and fully clothed. It always stinks up the steam room and makes it unpleasant cause these insecure men can’t handle being shirtless and barefoot in a steam room. Wish the staff would enforce the steam room rules a bit more. It could be such a nice facility otherwise. I’m pretty sure there’s a ton of unaccompanied underage teens always hogging the machines and that needs to be scrutinized more cause that’s a big liability for Gold’s.

FIND A DIFFERENT GYM!!!I cannot believe how rude and ignorant the general manager is. I wish I looked at the reviews before even stepping foot into this money hungry facility. I would have rather supported a small family owned gym! They dont tell you once you do your free week you will continue to be charged for the monthly payment along with a annual fee that was NOT mentioned that gets tacked onto the charges. When I went to cancel (because I dont live there anymore) they told me I must call their service number since I cant do it through them. No one had mentioned any 30 day notice where you will still be charged for a following month until I went to cancel. When I had been adviced to call the gym to talk about the charge they told me there was nothing they can do. When speaking with the manager he talked over me, told me how I was uncapable of an adult conversation, and how I needed to listen to him. I cant believe someone like him is allowed to be in a position and talk to a COSTOMER in this manner. I AM unhappy I was not told about any of these charges. I am not the first and I will not be the last. I will not be surprised if I continue to be charged for this membership after the 30 days.

Convenient for getting food and work out supplies before and/or after working out.Cons:No steam room for female bathroom (the trainer who gave me a tour and my girlfriend told me this info)They dont have a smoothie/shake bar. This gym was charging people for use during Covid. Once the gym reopened they just felt everyone should come back (even though they were at 10% capacity) and started charging everyone, this goes back all the way to January! I saw this and immediately removed my credit card. I then called and tried to cancel over the phone and they said that wasnt an option, even with Covid. So they let this fraudulent balance accumulate and now have turned it over to collections. They are bullying people, but they have tried to bully the wrong person. Ive contacted our law firm and this is going to turn into a class action lawsuit. Well see if this is worth it Golds. Terrible awful business. Shame on you.

Do yourself a favor and sign up for a local gym like Fitness 19, 24hr fitness, planet fitness, or Anytime fitness. Golds will do everything they can to keep you paying - and when it comes time to move on from Golds, you can expect to pay even more to leave the gym, despite being in contract or not. Customer service gives you the run around in order to delay the process and squeeze more monthly fees out of you. The gym itself is a gym, nothing special compared to the others. But it s always crowded and parking in the mall is annoying. This will be my last ever experience with this terrible, money-hungry franchise. Find a gym run by real honest people, not a washed up corporation hanging on for dear life. Your money will thank you.

My girlfriend and I tried to cancel our membership during the COVID closures and they did not respond to multiple emails to different email addresses that we got from the golds gym website. They did not answer phone calls and there was absolutely no way of contacting them during the pandemic. When they continued to charge me after all these attempts naturally I declined the payment to my card.Months later I go in to re-open my membership and instead of being welcomed as you should any other paying customer they told me that instead of canceling my membership they continued to try to charge me and actually sent the debt to collections. They did this with no warning, no phone calls, no emails or anything ( but they continue to send me advertising emails almost every day)So instead of trying to help me fix this issue the workers told me that I had sent it to the wrong email despite using the email on their website and also separately emailing their manager directly ( multiple times with no response)They then proceed to give me a business card saying this is the email for cancelation which was some unrelated business card with an email completely unrelated to golds gym and not anywhere on their website. This gym is literally a SCAM plenty of other gyms in the area that appreciate your business. Something the warming up section is closed because they hold classes there. Most of the times the bars for chest press tables, shoulder, inclined, declined are not available because people take them to do squats on the ground. I already requested the staff to add extra bars, or to ban people to take them, but they didn’t care...However, the gym is new, clean and is not smelly

DO NOT PURCHASE PERSONAL TRAINING IF YOURE NOT GOING TO CONTINUOUSLY GOI purchased training for one month, my first session was March 31st I called golds gyms April 13th to cancel my training for the upcoming month. Nothing happened so I emailed their manager. Nothing happened. I went in person he wasn’t there left my info. Nothing happened. I decided to email again nothing happened. Today April 22 I was charged $204 for nexts month personal training. I’m really upset because when I signed up for personal training I was told I could cancel as long as it’s within 30 days. Which it was. I called golds gym today I was told I couldn’t cancel the personal training since I got my first month for $104 which was basically half off. SO APPARENTLY THERE POLICY IS IF YOU GET THE FIRST SESSION FOR A CHEAPER PRICE YOU ARE OBLIGATED TO PAY FOR TRAINING FOR 3 MONTHS?! They did not tell me this. They told me the exact opposite. They said I could cancel next months training within 30 days. They guy I spoke with said he doesn’t understand why they told me I could cancel within 30 days. I did not know that this policy was in the contract I signed up for. PLEASE REAS CONTACTS BEFORE YOU SIGN THEM! Also I wasn’t even given the option to read the contract when I signed up. I spoke to the manager today and he said they emailed me the contract after I paid. Like really I’m supposed know after I pay? I decided to cancel my membership and I am going to try to dispute this with my bank hopefully I get my money back 🙏🏼P.s the manager Tony was extremely rude to me over the phone and basically called me a liar. I told him I wasn’t lying and he said he doesn’t believe his employee is lying. I’m referring to the 30 days of cancellation. Apparently the employee is denying ever saying that smh 🤦🏻‍♀️ He also never got back to any of my emails!! Also do not pay for the 30 min training totally not worth it. I didn’t even sweat 😆 I also told him I wasn’t going to pay for the personal training and he had the audacity to tell me, “well it’s you who’s going to be ruining your credit”.

If a GM harasses and conducts himself unprofessionally then you can’t expect much from the staff members. They only care about their bottom line which is to sign up as many members as possible not caring about capacity and gym members one bit. If you are looking for a place to workout that cares about its members, treats them professionally and does not engage in shady billing practices then Skip this place. Tito spent the time I needed to sort through the membership plans and gave me the space to make a no pressure decision.I chose to do an initial meeting with a trainer, Tatiana and was so impressed that purchased a few sessions (totally unusual for me) after receiving multiple purchase options.Things haven’t been easy for all businesses, and Gold’s is no exception. There were times, for business reasons, Tatiana could not be present for personal training, Roman jumped in to help me and also did a magnificent job. What I’m saying is that the Gold’s staff worked together as a team (those I’ve meanti ones and others) to provide the services I have been seeking. Unfortunately, that team must also spend a significant amount of time cajoling a few members into quarantine compliance.A lot is happening with Covid, and those few who fight against the spread by not complying with mask wearing are a significant part of the reason the gyms have closed down again today.I can’t wait to get back to Gold’s. Overall, the staff is super friendly. The club itself is clean and each member may grab a bottle of disinfectant and a towel to keep her workout area clean. I love the layout and flow of the space and classrooms. After being a member of other Glendale area gyms, I cannot imagine why Gold’s has any negative reviews.

When I asked the Golds Hollywood sales lady, who originally sold me the special plan, why my plan was stopped, she lied through her teeth saying she knew nothing about my special membership. My experience has been great.Friendly front desk and clean gym.I always go between 5 am and 8 am so I don’t know how the cleanliness is at later times, however, it’s clean and not too busy at those times. The equipments are top notch! They have good punching bags as well, which is a huge plus for me.And the people that train there are cool, too. No wannabe’s who drop weights, or don’t re-rack them...Overall a great gym!

I see everyone has the same issue as me (Fees). I haven’t been in the gym for more than a year (even before Covid), but they charged hidden fees. They didn’t explain this during the sign up. So disappointing.

Golds Gym is practicing straight up extortion. I’ve been trying to cancel since COVID began and have reached out through phone, email and tried MANY times on their site and apps to cancel and they’ve made it literally impossible. After finally speaking with someone there today they said you have to cancel through a third party called ABC Financial. Of course I’ve had no luck there either. ABC Financial is a company designed your help gyms make it near impossible to have clients cancel.Working with my bank to reverse charges from Gold’s now.Never stepping foot in a Gold’s Gym again. It’s incredible these tactics aren’t illegal.

Don’t want to waste my time writing this review, but this gym is over I priced, over crowded, and the management have a rule where if you visit once under a friends membership, then your free week trial is void, and even if you visited with a friend yesterday. Despite telling me on the phone to show up and just show them my ID for a week trial, I arrived and they said my only choices were to buy a $20 day pass or a full membership on the spot. I left and found a better gym (Which I don’t wanna disclose so it doesn’t get over crowded ;)Happy lifting everyone, avoid Gold’s

Would not recommend. The gym itself is nice but the fact that you have hidden fees not told to you makes this place a fraud. When I told them about how I didn’t know about the fees I was told that my initial were next to the agreement during the signing the guy told me we’re to sign to make it faster not telling me what I was getting into. Imagine sitting there and reading word by word the signing agreement. On top of all they’re asking $200 to cancel the membership.

Customer service is the WORST!! I do not recommend joining this gym at all! The machines are fine and clean but the customer service is the absolute worst ever! They were supposed to open in January and ended up doing it in April. They told me my membership had features that didnt end up having. Took them 4 months to process a downgrade and they refused to refund me for the money I paid while they were processing. My husband went to transfer his membership to a friend and we still got billed for it and they wanted to not refund me for that either, they told me to get the money back from my friend (really?), they ended up giving me the money back but after almost a month. And if that wasn’t enough, just last week and friend and I were working out in the squats machine, and this personal trainer (Alejandra) comes with her client and starts taking out the weights to use the machine (keep in mind, my water bottle was below the machine, my towel was hanging in the bar and my friend was about to use it); so I interrupted her and told her that I was using the machine and she tells me “you can use it after we’re done” and I assumed that she meant we could all use it, like each of us would be doing a set taking turns on it. Well, that’s not what she meant, because she decided to stay there to use and teach her client for at least 20min… I didn’t know that with a personal trainer session comes a preference right to use the machines over the other customers of the gym… She didn’t even apologized or anything. So in short, I’m sure there are gyms with way better customer service than this place. And as for the machines and facilities, they’re clean but not very well maintained but that’s on the customers.

Very clean and modern gym for a good price. its usually pretty crowded (pre pandemic at least). Also theyre super pushy about signing up for personal training which can be annoying if youre someone whos happy with their own routines. If you want to cancel you need to call a separate company that will put you on hold for awhile which can be annoying. However, its in the Galleria and very close to both a pizza place and a protein shake place which can be great for a post workout meal.Very convenient location and good pricing with lots of solid, up-to-date equipment available. Customer service isnt great but also isnt terrible.

Good gym! Crowded during busy hours but that is expected. During light hours, awesome experience. Great equipment. However, some is already breaking down, but gym seems to tend to this quickly. Staff is helpful and friendly. I had issues with extra charges and they cleared it up quickly. Gym is clean, but you do have to pay $49 yearly fee for this. Seems worth it. I dont mind this fee as monthly rate was very affordable. On occasion some of members are annoying, but you find that in every gym. Diverse mix of people. For most part, I have had good experience in gym.

The machines and cleanliness is good, but it’s the staff that force me to give it a low star rating. I would be minding my business, and a trainer would come along and “offer” and free session. The session pushed me too hard but he still wouldn’t stop. And when I explained that I couldn’t afford a trainer (my parents pay for my membership bc we all went when it first opened up), a second trainer came into the conversation and told me, well with as much as you go out and eat you could’ve save that money for a trainer. I never mentioned going out to eat or who paid for my meals when I go out, but it was obvious he was alluding to my weight. I’ve lost a significant amount before this happened, but when I said “oh I’m eating x amount of calories to lose weight” the og trainer straight up told me, no your not. Somehow these two men can make assumptions about my eating habits and my finical situation because I attend a gym on my own time. I enjoy the machines and the establishment is clean, I just find a few of the workers very rude, pushy, and ill-intended salesmen.

Worst customer service and every time it feels like the sales team is lying about deals and not telling you the full content of the deal. The equipment is newer compared to other gyms, the view is great by the windows while on the treadmill, also sauna and steam rooms are nice additions, however, very crowded throughout the whole day.

I like golds gym its a great starter gym for people who just want to stay fit or become physically active. I don’t agree with their cancelation policy to wait 30 days before your membership cancels and you have to tell them prior those 30 days also you have to wait a year for your contract to end so you don’t get charged a fee. Besides that the gym is actually in decent shape. Its jot as big as lifetime, but has all the essentials. The customer service is great, the gym employees are kind, the cleaning staff does a great job. As for the people who come and go its mostly high schoolers or college students that want to show off or train for a sport. The treadmill area has a great view of the city of glendale.

The worst Golds gym ever ! Their front desk people are rude and clueless what they are doing, dont care about their customers at all and unfortunately so does the management ... Had a conversation with the manager Ben and he kinda got mad that I wasnt happy with their service lol No wonder why you guys are the worst ... Save yourself from the worst gym experience you can get, dont be fooled by the new equipment . The gym is usually super packed and they oversold the membership (probably thats why they dont care ), always lines to workout and not gonna lie, people who go to this specific location are nothing but weird. Doesnt even feel comfortable to workout, because a lot of them clearly are here not to workout but to stare, play in the phone etc . My advise ? - Stay away as far as you can !!!!

It looks like a cheap new gym but it’s too good to be true. There are many hidden fees that they don’t tell you at the beginning.I just supposed to pay $24.95 per month and $20 for initiation fee. But after three month, they charged $49 annul fee. When I wanted to cancel the membership, they charged me another $20 cancellation fee! After all, this gym is supper crowded and you have to be in line for everything. If your time is valuable, this gym is not a good choice.

Nice facility, neat equipment. It does get really crowded though. My initial fitness evaluation test was followed by this head-trainer guy trying to sell me trainer sessions. He kept negotiating the price, I kept saying no not right now for personal reasons, and the conversation became pushier and rather condescending, to the point where he insulted me. :)

Been a member of Golds Gym Glendale since April and I really enjoy it! Ive taken several group exercise classes and all of the instructors have been knowledgeable, fun, and given a great workout. The facilities are brand new so everything is clean and well maintained. I would recommend becoming a member here!

Honestly their customer service is amazing! As soon as you step in they really make YOU feel welcome! They remember you so they dont give you a generic Hello. The staff will do everything on their power to accommodate you, they take care of every single reasonable request! The manager Ben as well as the staff at the entrance and the daycare are very nice and friendly. The cycling class and zumba with Pablo is awesome, those classes are a must! The machines are great! The only thing I regret is that they dont have a sauna nor jacuzzi...

Great facility and equipment. Been a Golds Gym member downtown since 2006. was a bit skeptic about this gym at first but once I was done with my workout I was satisfied overall. Love that fact you guys added the synthetic grass, really helpful when doing my Metabolic circuit workouts. P.S. Send the jumping rope and yoga people inside the yoga room because they just blocking the way and slowing down speed workouts lmao keep it up! 👌
