Davidian & Mariamian is a wonderful institution which helps preserve our Armenian language and culture by teaching it to following generations. As a former student, I would highly recommend any parent enroll their children in the after-school program. Truly great value for the money and wonderful staff who genuinely care for their students.

Excellent ownership and a great institution that truly cares for the kids

Let me start by saying that their administrator Ofelia hung up on me when I called to express my concerns about one of their Armenian teachers yelling in the class and not being able to manage the children. Based on what my child and a few friends are saying, their teacher screams at them and often does not let them get up to go to the bathroom, sharpen a pencil or reach out to their backpacks, etc...Apparently this young pleasant looking lady has recently moved to U.S. and is not familiar with modern classroom management strategies, loses her temper and does not know how to run the classroom smoothly.When I called, Ms. Ofelia interrupted me right away, became very upset and defensive. She said I was attacking their school!!!! I couldnt believe what I was hearing! She became disrespectful and said how dare I called to question all of her hard work! She wasnt letting me speak. I told her that my intention was to bring this issue up so they can provide more training to the teachers or find other solutions. But, she couldnt hear me! I guess this lady was having a very bad day or is extremely unfit to answer phone calls.Any way, I am very concerned! If a school administrator behaves like this and does not want to hear a moms concerns, then how can she run quality educational program. I am very disappointed because I truly want my child to learn Armenian in school and also create an Armenian community of friends and classmates. However, this incident is out of line and raises major concern for me. Now I understand why several parents have disenrolled their children from attending Davidian & Mariamian school.
