I have been going to the Glen Burnie Donation Center for years. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly. It is easy to schedule appointments and they is little or no wait time when I arrive. I will continue to donate at this center.

How is it you can schedule and appointment for first thing on a Sunday morning...show up 5 minutes before and be told its going to be an hour wait. Im sorry do you need blood or not? This is unacceptable. I dont have hours to sit around so I can give you my blood. Red Cross if there truly is a shortage like you speak of.....get your act together.

I have scheduled 4 appointments for this location and have had all 4 canceled! The 3rd time I spoke to a Red Cross Supervisor and was able to keep my 3rd appointment. I had an appointment today which was canceled! I have to give blood because of a medication that I’m on. I can have a stroke if I don’t donate! A supervisor called me today and was very rude to me! I get multiple calls from Red Cross to donate and this is how I’m treated! With so many cancellations I’m surprised they are still in business!

These Red Cross site will cancel your appointment a day before from your blood donation app and will never tell you why. And then if you re-shcuelde it online again and show up, they will try to find all types of excuses for you not to donate blood. Excuses can be any range from due to short staff, you are late etc. I have been donating blood almost every 2 months+ and went to different centers. But this center is shady, they are lazy, incompetent. Looks like American Red Cross has too much blood and running this not for profit for money only. All thr crooked people at the top management needs to get fired and they need to get sued for all thses miss management. And if they top gives excise that they have no qualoty control about the locals staff, one more reason to sue them and fire them. Need to do open audit, need new leadership. I took off from work just to do ate blood and they try to find all the excuses not to. That is a shame for the whole human kind.

Such a traumatic experience. Left sitting in a pool of my own blood.Went to donate antibody plasma. First time ever donating plasma. Got someone who was new at doing the procedure, nbd, it was apparently their second time doing so, again nbd, but they were very unsure the steps of setting things up, started to worry if it was going to done correctly. Then they set everything up and stuck me with a needle. The boss stepped in to pick another vein for the needle, they put a bandage over the original stick, and went to go look for another needle although they left the pressure gauge on my arm, then within 30 seconds I was bleeding profusely. From there I was sitting in my own blood as I was asking for assistance. At that point I was very unsure that they really were going to do this procedure right, so I left. I won’t be back to this location since I am not convinced the training is adequate. Please train your staff on the process of the procedures before they start training on live patients, especially those new to it all. Have them setup machines using info but not on actual patients until they have it down 100%. And start them off with patients that have done the plasma procedure before. Not those that have never done it, making them feel very uneasy about ever wanting to donate again.Very disappointed with the whole experience. Was really looking forward to making a difference, and was left not knowing if I ever want to donate anything again. If I ever decide to donate again, know that I wouldn’t be comfortable going to this location, and I recommend others look elsewhere if possible.

The place has changed. The location is on the east side of the building if you are looking ahead of the main entrance. Real nice setup and looks to be well organized. Please be kind to your phlebotomist they are taking your blood hah.

I love this location. I’m a platelet donor and I’ve been coming here the past year. I’ve never had any issues, the entire staff is so welcoming, sweet & makes sure you are comfortable and feeling ok at all times. I’ve donated whole blood and platelets multiple times & they have always been so caring. They offer to schedule my next appointment immediately & always so accommodating even if they have donors running into my slot they are happy to offer another donation or slot for me. Love this place & happy to donate for them.

The facility looks run down, but it matches the neighborhood. The gem of this place though is the staff. They really make you feel comfortable while you do good for others. I tip my hat to the Glen Burnie American Red Cross team. They are top notch!

Will not be going back to this location due to rude staff. The first time I was there for a donation, it wasnt very welcoming but they got the job done, the lady who drew my blood was quick and efficient though the atmosphere sucked its not that big of a deal b/c im there to donate, so I made another apt. This time I had a 5pm apt. The woman at the front desk asked me to sign in to their computer, confirmed I had a rapid pass and asked me to have a seat. There was another woman who stomped her feet and was huffing and puffing regarding me walking in. Clearly she was annoyed that I was there, she disregarded my apt (even when I showed her my confirmation with their app) she was looking at her papers saying my apt was at 3. Clearly threre was a mix up somewhere either way, I was there and the place was empty but for one other doner. She still discourteously said I couldnt donate, so I just left. Will find a better place to go.

A truly disappointing first experience with this location. I received a Red Cross notification of an emergency need and Iimmediately scheduled a 1:30 appointment on Easter weekend. This was my first donation in a new state and I arrived at 1:37 only to be refused entry. Apparently the emergency was not as bad as I was led to believe to refuse the kindness of volunteer and triple bag donor taking time on a holiday weekend. The staff was terse (boarderline rude) without an ounce of flexibility.I acknowledge 1:37 is not 1:30 and admittedly I did not properly account for the road construction and redlights (i am new to this area) but my rapid pass was complete and I was super eager to make this my new donation center. The staff clearly prefered to enforce the 5 minute allowance then be welcoming of a new power donor. Unfortunately, no matter how many emergency text messages I receive in the future I will NEVER return to this location and not the first impression I was expecting.Lets put it this way. The difference between a 5 star rating and a 1 star was 2 minutes.

I like the staff here. The facility is really dated and has a general feel of disorganization and cheapness. Its too bad that Red Cross doesnt put in a little more effort to give their employees a better work environment.

Yes, its on the tenth floor of the building that doesnt quite look like it has ten floors, and theres very little signage (the one I saw makes it seem like its in the strip next door), and then once youre on the tenth floor you still have to hunt around for it. Once youre in, though, they treat you well.

I was a blood donor for 17 1/2 years - I hit the 10 gallon level. I was very proud of myself.American Red Cross showed me they did not care, If I wanted a 10 gallon pin, I had to request it.I contacted them to get a certificate to hang on my office wall, thinking people would see it and think about donating and helping others, they could not take the time to send me one. I volunteered my time and blood to help others and this is the way I was treated.
