Ive heard nothing but great things about this place and I dont want my one visit to hurt this place. I just dont like when people try to take advantage of women. I was told the mechanic spent an hour and a half running my diagnostic and hed only charge me $50. When i dropped my car off I told the intake woman that Id already had it tested and put on the machine and that i need a solenoid censor & can they fix it?At that point they shouldve said hey we dont go in transmissions only change them. Basically they knew they couldnt fix my car but ensured they got that $50 bucks by telling me EXACTLY what I had told them. Its not just the money its also the principal for me, being from the South we believe in honor and helping our community especially in such discerning times. Shame on you Mike!! On the other hand EVERYONE says how good thier work is and i believe those people and I still trust this shop with my car. It was giving back to me EXACTLY how I left it, it was parked safely behind the fence, the intake woman listened to my gripping yet didnt loose her temper with me.

Professional, and honest. I would recommend this mechanic to anyone.

I would highly recommend Mikes Emission Clinic to anybody failing to pass emissions.After speaking to Dave (the shop manager) multiple times for advice on repairing an emissions leak myself, I finally decided to bring the car in to have them perform a diagnostic.At a very fair price, they were able to get me in same day, and quickly diagnose where the leak was coming from.Dave (my technician) was extremely knowledgeable, polite, and even took the time to bring me in the shop to show exactly where my leak was coming from and the steps he took to diagnose the problem.The service writer (unfortunately did not get her name) was very personable and made sure my experience was great.All and all, if youre looking for quality, honest, affordable repairs I suggest bringing your vehicle to Mikes Emission Clinic.I will be sure to send all the future business of my family and friends to this shop, and would suggest the same for you!

Ive taken my 1993 Chevy S10 Pickup Extended Cab here manual as well as my 01 Ford Escape. He has done my O2 sensor, countless steering jobs (inner and outer tyrods, whole kit installation), suspension work, control arm, and is great at doing exhausts. He has also done my racks. Only thing is one time a spark plug wasnt attached back all the way and one time stripped bolts that my tire goes on. Those are easy things to fix at home. Like I said hes good, just got to check for yourself after a job to make sure theres no small mistakes.

I have been taking my cars to Mikes Emission Clinic since 2005. They have never let me down. The a quick, pleasant and they fix it once and you are good to go. They have never had to keep my car overnight. There were times when I actually sat and waited. They are also a lot less expensive than other places.

GREAT customer service and prices. My car runs like its brand new again.

I went here today n they mechanics are very nice. They got my ac working very quickly. In n out in 20 minutes. Would recommend them to anyone. Dave is excellent at what he does I wont take my car Anywhere else.

Needed a radiator and my trusted Mechanic was swamped so I brought it to Mikes... Very efficient and friendly service... My temperature gage was rising after and I was told to bring it back and it needed a serpentine belt and they fixed it within the hour... Thanks Mikes!

I took my vehicle at Exhaust Masters in Merrillville June 2014. My vehicle had sat close to a whole week before it was touched. Exhaust Masters said it would run me $1,500 to get the car passed. There was no way I couldnt afford to get it fix. I was talking to a few people at work and they said take it down to Mikes Emission Clinic in Gary off of Ridge Road. I came in and everyone was very nice and pleasant. I showed Dave of what Exhaust Masters was trying to charge me. Dave looked at the car and said the things they were trying to charge you, dont need. When the vehicle was done, the repair bill was $400. The car passed flying colors. All zeros straight across the board.I am very particular where I take my car to get it fix. Actually, this place reminds me Rons Amoco in Merrillville off of Broadway and Route 30. Small shop but excellent mechanics. They also sold Amoco gasoline. I would truly recommend this in a heartbeat. All I can say, my car runs better than it did couple of years ago.

I had the worst experience with them a person could image. First of all, Dave is a liar!! I dropped my truck off to get my headlights changed wound up paying $900 for ballots & bulbs. I go out to check out what they’ve done & finds out they have cracked my grill on my Cadillac Escalade in several place & tried to glue it back together. Dave lying saying they didn’t do it when I know it wasn’t like that when I dropped it off. I was so ANGRY!! This place is a rip-off & very careless. In the result of all of this I called the police & looking into further matters. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Do not take your car here.Asked for full body tune up n to fix a 02 sensor for $380. Completely ruined my engine on a 2000 buick lasabre. Did not have enough care to even call or say what he did wrong just kept my car for 6 hours when we got it back it started smoking and overheating. Completely ripped us off!!!!!!!!!
