I saw a few questionable reviews for this vacation rental and was somewhat skeptical. However, we had a great trip. My interaction with Gary Greene Rentals was not much but pleasant when needed. I think thats the whole point. We were going to a vacation beach home. We didnt need them for much once it was booked. The house was fully furnished with just about everything you would need. Kitchen was loaded with cooking dishes and utensils. We even wanted to stay a extra day once there. So we gave them a call just one day in advance of leaving and they let us book the extra day. Beautiful home and great set up right on the beach. Lots of privacy. Would book again.

We were charges $150 for damages that were not even damages. Everything was washable in a washing machine. Also, they have a lot of snakes in the are so be aware. They come in human form as well in thé Gary Greene office. Stay away!!!!

There are so many 1 star reviews for a reason. Misleading ads with hidden cancelation fees. Says free cancelation on all sites they are listed on other than their own. After you book they explain to you they dont follow the policies they advertised on vrbo.. Why even list it in there... Stay far away.

Do not rent from this place. They are not moral and will try to take your money if a natural disaster happens and you do not have travel insurance. They won’t try to do anything for you or be flexible in any way. We were not offered travel insurance because we booked less than a month from our vacation date. Now, a hurricane is coming and they are refusing to give us a refund or credit. I’ve called them multiple times and they’ve pretty much said they can’t do anything or been non responsive or have been telling me management is not there to take care of it. We obviously will not risk the safety of our family so we are basically getting robbed by these people. If a hurricane is coming, expect to drive into it or lose over 2 thousand dollars because they won’t do a thing for you. There are plenty of other rentals that offer refund without travel insurance when a natural disaster hits. Go with one of those.

Great company to rent from. The house was in perfect shape and as advertised. It was close with the Hurricane Laura but they kept in contact with me and as soon as the evacuation order was lifted on the island, they gave me a call to say original check-in date of Aug 28th was still valid. Just got back home earlier today. Thanks for a lovely trip.

This company should be ashamed of themselves !!!!Very poor integrity, actually NONE at all.We rented the Bermuda Blue in Galveston for the week of Aug 23rd-29th and only stayed there for 2 days ( Aug 23, Aug 24th) because we were told we had to leave because of Hurricane Laura, which i understand. We left the place and got out of there by 10am that Tues morning and even did a little cleaning too. There was a company worker there doing all the necessary things to prepare for the hurricane even though they told us NO RUSH, but we felt rushed !!! They told us they would contact us to reschedule the rest of our days or to refund. When we called them (numerous times with no answer) the one time we actually did get an answer they said they would get back to us. Well, we finally got ahold of someone and asked why would they tell us they would reschedule us or refund us the rest of our trip the person said i cannot answer thatYou better hope you have insurance incase a natural disaster happens or youre OUT OF YOUR MONEY !! They will NOT REFUND OUR MONEY for the other 4 days we are owed !!! How do you do business like this ???? How do you sleep at night knowing you ripped people off and we are talking over $1000 dollars here!!!! Shady Business tactics !!! STAY AWAY FROM RENTING ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! The BBB will be contacted!! Sure glad we have insurance !!!! This company should not be in business because all they care about is MONEY!!! Horrible, horrible horrible.

We rented the Bermuda Blue at 12940 Bermuda Beach Road the first week in March 2020. Close to the rental office, and right on the beach. We found all the shells we could want. The office staff is very professional and easy to work with. We received our $750 deposit in a timely manner. I would stay at this house again, it was all you could hope for as a beach front rental

We stayed there with my family in July, and the refrigerator broke down on the second day we were there. We were told to keep the door closed. They sent out a repair guy, who told us the refrigerator was meant for a family of 4 and couldnt handle a capacity of 12 (the house sleeps 16). He said he has been out multiple times and they knew this refrigerator had issues. We ate out of coolers for the duration of our trip. The showers leaked, and the toilets on the main floor were broken. There is a long list of items that were broken in this house. The company did not care, and when we called to complain, they never responded to our calls. Do not rent from Gary Green in Galveston. Stick with Sand and Sea rentals, they actually care about their customers. When you spend over $9000 for a week vacation rental, there should be some sort of customer service. The lady that was working there was rude and defensive, and made us feel like we were wrong for being upset with our $9000 rental and having to eat out of coolers.

Wow! This was our first beach house rental experience and we loved it! Darlene was very helpful and answered all questions I had over the phone. Our trip and house was clean and spacious just as pictured! I definitely recommend this company!

****** WARNING - DO NOT USE GARY GREENE VACATION RENTAL*******Had a trip set for 8/28-8/30 in Galveston, TX. At the time of our reservation we were encouraged to use their partner travel insurance company - Red Sky Insurance - given the above-normal hurricane season.Sure enough Hurricane Laura formed in the Gulf of Mexico causing the local government to issue a mandatory evacuation on the 25th. The next day we cancelled the trip due to the pending hurricane. On August 27th the mandatory evacuation was lifted but by then we already cancelled the trip. We also didnt know the condition of what Galveston was in or the beaches.I spoke with Gary Greene Rentals and was instructed to go through Red Sky travel insurance and file a claim which we did. After multiple calls and emails with Red Sky Insurance, I waited almost 3 months for Red Sky to tell me my claim was denied because we preemptively cancelled the trip. Since the mandatory evacuation was lifted the day before our trip, we could have gone was their reasoning. Who thinks like this when theres a hurricane? Even if we couldve gone do they take into consideration its a little hard to utilize a beach when there is broken glass and debris on the ground? My case was a case of Monday Morning QB vs Hurricane vs Insurance vs Rental I guess.I contacted Gary Greene Rental thinking they would be understanding my situation but was greeted with a nice we sympathize with your situation but we have no intention of reimbursing you. While their contract states they do not reimburse for hurricanes, the travel insurance company they told me to use is equally as crooked.Stay away from companies like this that unwilling to make reasonable concessions for their own customers.

Place we stayed at was very nice very close to the gulf And fitted our needs perfectly. However the cleaning crew was still there when we got to the house after 3:00. They were gone after 4 but we should not have seen them at all with everything going on at this time. Hurricane shutter were still down and they had to call another group of repair people to get them up the next morning. We were there for 3 nights And all they left us was 2 little hotel bars of soap and one dishwasher soap pack but no dish soap no cleaning supplies. Nothing extra. Not much in terms of any supplies. Be sure to bring your own stuff. It was totally empty of anything spare. We would stay there again but you need to be prepared and bring it all. Chances are it will not be there.

We spent over $1,500 renting Bermuda Blue. When we got there roaches were running over the plates in the kitchen cabinets, the plumbing did not work in the master bedroom and paint was peeling off the walls.Gary Greene tried to send an exterminator and plumbing during our vacation instead of doing the right thing and refunding us.We lost a whole vacation day moving into a lower quality unit.They were rude, and lied about the quality of the place to secure the booking.

We had an excellent time. We brought three generations of family. They have an app that you can invite others to use, so coordinating was easy because everyone had access to the information.The kitchen was fantastic with very nice cooking appliances. The house was for 18 ppl and there were more than enough dishes and flatware. The beach we were on was quiet and clean.Every question we had about parking or accommodations before heading down was quickly answered, and check in was super easy.

We will not go through Gary Greene Vacation rentals again. Very disappointing. The customer service was terrible. I emailed to inquire about specific kitchen appliances and some other items that might be available for our use during our stay. The response I got was “None of the items in question are guaranteed”. I don’t think it’s too much to ask someone to go check the unit to verify whether something was there or not. It was Inconvenient to have to go to a different location to pick up keys. When we called to ask if items were available for our use in a locked garage cage, labeled with the name and number of our unit, they put it off on the resort. So we went to the resort office to ask and they said they don’t handle any of that. So then we called the Gary Greene office again and suddenly they had an answer which was “no”. Also, they were supposed to send our reservation information to the resort we were staying at so that we could get wrist bands to use all the amenities. They did not send this information till a day after we arrived. We had rented a condo at the same resort last year and it was a much better experience than going though Gary Greene. We should’ve stuck with a private owner.

We stayed at Fernandos Hideaway- it was exactly as described and looked exactly like the pictures. Beautiful place that felt as comfortable as home. We had no issues with the property. The staff were all friendly. The price was great- very affordable for such a beautiful place to stay. We will definitely use Gary Greene again.

We are disappointed with many things that happened on our trip last week to the Life Aquatic home in Galveston. First being the cost - we paid for 1st row beach front property. That is how it was advertised. What we got was 2nd row, with 2 nearly completed homes right in front. The website was changed to reflect this only after we complained to Melissa. We were not sent the contract with all its lengthy stipulations until the morning of our arrival, although we booked 2 months in advance and paid in full weeks before the trip. The home had several items in disrepair, which were noted by a call to Melissa and then on Sunday when we checked out. On one item, the main bathtub leg fell off & the tub tilted sideways while bathing my 2 year old granddaughter. This caused her to hit her head on the side of the tub. Only 1 roll of TP, 1 trash bag, 1 roll of paper towels were left for 14 people for 4 days. And they were poor quality at that. For the price - better quality & quantity of items, plus pride of ownership in home maintenance is a must! I would have gotten far better quality at a 5 star hotel for half the price!!!

We had a great stay in our rental property for the Texas Ironman race. We rented the Life Aquatic home. Super clean and fresh. Had everything you need. The only thing I could possibly suggest is to supply some clothes hangers in the closets so you can use them to hang up clothes.The beach was wonderful despite some stormy weather one day (which was fun).Great house, easy checkin and checkout, good customer service.Thank you Gary Greene Rentals.Allen and Shannon D.

The house was perfect! - Professionally cleaned and very spacious! -- We had a terrific time. All appliances were in great working order. This was our second stay with Gary Greene and we are already planning our third! The office staff is terrific - very helpful, patient, kind and friendly. :)

House was nice for the most part ac didnt work great had to use fans (they had 2 portable fans in every room). It rained flooded the driveway so had to walk thru water everyday.... and says parking for 4... have no idea how u could fit 4 cars we could barely fit 3

The property was just what we wanted. Community was great and locals were inviting. We had one issue with the property and they sent someone out to fix it with in minutes. The company kept finding me discounts with out me even asking. You will get so much more then just a property

(UPDATE, after reply below, service was rude and disrespectful, simply put) (please stay away from this business, dont RISK your vacation)Highly UNETHICAL, rude customer service, issues with our stay, they did not really care about our stay. They even moved our rental to another spot following a conversation with my Mother (which she was duped), gave us an extra night, but when we got there, it was horrible. I think they get a higher commission on moving people once they have seen something on VRBO. It is hard to explain, and I will not waste your time on this, as it was very upsetting and pretty sad that they can offer rentals in the way they did. Please, use another agency on the Island, there are plenty, but STAY AWAY FROM GARY GREEN RENTALS. The beach is for fun, with your family, and a nice time, this company is set on profits and not customer service. I will not call anyone out by name at the agency, but it is unprofessional and rude. From where I stand, customers should be treated kindly and fairly, with respect, neither my Mom or I was treated this way and we were all smiles, really trying to make the most of a very expensive bad location with all the issues that comes along with it.

Rental company was 100% ok with grass growing over to the point of snakes cruising through the front and backyard...when we complained they just said we are glad no one was bitten...instead of actually having someone come out and simply mow. Will post their emails soon to show off their incredible customer service.

After booking and paying for our vacation rental, Gary Greene Vacation Rentals canceled my booking. Their rental contract states: Rates, descriptions, amenities and availability are subject to change without notice or liability. This means that they can (and do) cancel your vacation and only allow you to stay if you agree to pay an increased rate/cost! Do yourself a favor -- BOOK YOUR VACATION WITH SOMEONE ELSE!!!

The home was decent, second bathroom shower is tiny the water hits you directly in the face no room to turn around so you are stuck using 1 shower in the master bedroom. The window above the kitchen sink was broken and when it rains water leaks on the items below. They do not tell you where the washer and dryer is located so you have got to find it. The upstairs loft is so hot you cant stay up there. While we were staying there 3 workers showed up without notice to fix something. You would think they would have called to let us know rather than finding someone snooping about. People are constantly walking through the downstairs area and getting into your things as well as leaning on your vehicles to talk or use the restroom. Unbelievable that they do not have any kind of protection for the renters property. The office staff was unprofessional and sarcastic when we called over the phone.

Best Vacation rental experience my family and I have ever had. Thoroughly enjoyed the home and the Staff at Gary Greene in Galveston. Taylor and Erica were so helpful and friendly. They even pointed us in the right direction for beach wheelchair rentals and gave us advice for our stay next year.They went over the reservation confirmation with me ( even though I was a little confused because I thought I paid when I booked through VRBO, but that was just the VRBO fee, I wont use a third party site next time Ill book direct.)Be sure to read your rental agreement it is lengthy, but for the quality of the home, I can understand why there are policies set in place. We did arrive after 6 pm and had to meet with Wayne, and we really like him. There was a 50 dollar fee, not so bad, and it allowed us the freedom not to try and rush to get into Galveston.All in all, My family is begging to come back next year!!

I booked and payed my vacation with Gary Greene vacation rentals and my experience with them was great. It was our first time to ever rent a vacation home and they walked us thru everything. They even have an app you can download that was very helpful as well. The house itself was very clean and spacious . It was completely loaded with everything u could need. I couldnt think of anything else we needed while there. It had towels, pans, pots, dishes, grill, movies etc.etc so much stuff u can use while there. I will defenately will rent with them again..Staff is super friendly and helpful

The staff makes traveling with service dogs quite difficult. The manager, Gina Rosen, is unsympathetic to those with disabilities. We chose to cancel our reservation and will never rent any property managed by this company. Taylor, our reservation specialist, was so rude when discussing our service dogs which go everywhere. Proceed with caution! Use a different rental company!

Just returning from a weeks vacation with one of the beach houses. Although the house was beautiful, and very close to the beach, we had some major issues. Upon check-in, we were overwhelmed with bug spray in the up and downstairs quarters. No biggie, I was glad they had sprayed because the previous renters had been there a whole month.The first night we had absolutely no air due to a faulty thermostat, but it was fixed the next day. Unfortunately, I guess the extermination brought the ants out of the woodwork because my grandchildren and daughter in law got numerous ant bites that first night. Ants covered the first floor area! I called and they sent the exterminator back out, and instructed us to wash the sheets, which we did. Within four hours two of the five people downstairs were throwing up constantly, and my six year old grand daughter couldnt stand unassisted. Both grandchildren were taken to the hospital due to breathing in/being around the non-toxic spray. They were sick the rest of the week. So was my daughter in law, but not to the extreme that affected my grandchildren. So, needless to say, lots of throw up in the downstairs, and vacation really hampered by illnesses, we were also charged an excessive cleaning fee because they had to work extra to get what appeared to be urine or blood stains up, according to GGVR rep. It was neither, but there probably were stains from constant throwing up from two babies poisoned by the spray. We were troopers, we constantly communicated with rental reps, they expressed concern, but charged us with this fee, which really hacks me off enough to take my time and tell the truth about what happened. Beautiful house, many opportunities as long as you dont need air, dont mind ants and ant bites, and dont mind non-toxic fumes for your babies.
