Great place for repairs. Our truck and trailer both broke down. They worked really hard to get us back on the road. Definitely good mechanics. We were on the road by the end of business Friday.
We were traveling through from out of state and they were very responsive to work us in, diagnose the problem and get us back on the road. The mechanic that worked on our truck has been there for 19 years and he knows a lot about diesel trucks. I would highly recommend them! Thanks guys!
Went in to get gasket repair on tappet cover and was quoted $700 labor plus parts. walked away with $65 bill as they said the leak was coming from different area. they had me in and out of the shop in under an hour. fantastic service by honest mechanics for me being stranded in Gallup. they had me fixed up and on the road in less than an hour. I wish I had this as my local shop and highly recommend them!
Was on my way back to illinois from dropping a load in Arizona. My truck broke down in Gallup. TA in Gallup highly recommended Jims business. Took it down there and one of his lead techs listened and said he was positive it was the Injection pump. I bought the parts sent them down there. Picked it up over this past weekend and it made it 1200 miles home and runs amazing. Thanks to the owner and the team. Yall have my business for sure.
We had a great experience. The employees were courteous & helpful.
I cannot speak highly enough of J&J Truck Services, office staff, and Quinn the mechanic in Gallup, NM. After my miracle never-to-repeat ride in my 1995 32ft Ford E350 RV for 80 miles limping along at 5 mph on the shoulder on Interstate 40, sometimes increasing to a whopping 30mph going downhill and never stopping for fear of stalling out, I arrived at Loves Truck Repair Center off Exit 16 only to be told they dont work on 1995 32ft Ford E350 RVs. Are you kidding me. After all Id been through! After a few choice words [to myself), Loves mechanic recommended J&J down the street about a mile on the right. I didnt know whether I could make it. At this point I kind o sort o new how to prevent the engine from stalling by pumping the accelerator then finding that sweet spot on the gas pedal to move forward 1ft then 2ft then down Loves driveway hoping my RV would climb back up as I merged into traffic at my top speed of 5mph then maintaining that velocity on Old Historic Route 66 for the longest mile I have ever driven until.....there it was, not a mirage, but J&J Truck Services. Oh my God. I made it. Time was about 3:30pm. I pulled in and bravely turned the motor off and started to breath again normally. I checked in with Shea who said its 1st come 1st serve, and I was number 5 in line. Next was Sheas seemingly innocent instruction to move my RV close to the fence where I could sleep for the night. I knew it would start. I didnt know whether it could move. Low and behold, I pumped that accelerator like I was on an Interstate shoulder until my RV bucked and sputtered and gradually attained full speed of 5mph heading my RV close to the fence like I was told. Phew! I walked around J&Js yard just to blow off some pent off steam. I was feeling better and grateful of J&J for letting me stay in the RV overnight. I cranked up the RV generator that had more power than the RVs 460 cubic inch motor and made some microwave mac n cheese for dinner then crashed. Morning came. I was still alive living the dream of RVing. I was told that I was soon to be next and to move the RV to garage number 2. I was pretty experienced by now on how to motivate my RV at a crawl but to move forward nevertheless. Midmorning, my RV was in J&Js garage bay. They did not waste any time even though they were working on a half-dozen big trucks, little trucks, tow trucks and you name it trucks as well as my RV. I met Quinn who was the mechanic to work on my RV. I described my harrowing ride on the Interstate and that my Check Engine light flashed on periodically. I thought the problem was in the emission control system that was cutting off fuel delivery. There was no way it could be the fuel pump because I had it replaced it 6 months previously at a Ford Truck Dealer repair place for a lot of money. Quinn did some diagnostics the old fashioned way.....experience......because my vintage 1995 E350 did not have a computer analizer module. Quinn said the oxygen sensor is not working properly because there is only 15psi of fuel delivery caused by none other than my new very expensive fuel pump. And where is this precious fuel pump located? Not on the side of the engine. Not exposed somewhere where any sane Ford engineer would have located it. Nope. The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank. No, itnot located on the side of the gas tank where a sane Ford engineer could have located it. You guesed it. The insane Ford engineer located the fuel pump access on the top of the gas tank directly under the RV floorboard requiring removal of the gas tank to remove and replace the fuel pump....again. Thank you Ford. To add insult to injury to my morale, J&J was told by their Ford truck parts supplier that my little fuel pump for my precious RV is Obsolete. Not made anymore. Niche kafeltefish as my grandmother used to say. I am running out of space for this review. Bottom line, a new fuel pump was delivered, I stayed the night with an extension cord to my RV, Quinn fixed it, J&Js price was very reasonable. Great place. Great people!
Had a tire blow out on our motorhome. April did an amazing job facilitating our repair. The technician did an outstanding job replacing the tire the day the new tires arrived.. Excellent value. they are located right down the street from an RV park and we were back on the road the next day. Kudos to the entire team. While we were waiting for our tire insurance they held onto the bad tire. Would highly recommend J&J Truck Services.
Started working on my truck as soon as I took it in. Fixed the problem fast.
Mechanic could not find the leak in my tire. I discovered 2 days later that the valve core was faulty. The tire held air for 2 days after he filled it up, but I checked the pressure 2 days later and the valve core didnt seal. Service was timely and the people were friendly and sympathetic
I could not be more impressed with the quality, integrity and speed of our service from J&J!! Our engine battery drained while driving our motor home about 30 miles from Gallup on a recent Sunday afternoon. Their tech, Erwin came out and worked tirelessly to identify the source of our electrical short and avoid an expensive tow (closest tow was 94 miles away!!). He identified the faulty wire and got us temporarily running back to Gallup for the night. We dropped the motor home off at their shop Monday morning and he had the wiring permanently repaired by lunch that day and we were back on our way. Outstanding team at J&J, their work made the absolute best result out of a difficult situation.
The owner, Jim, took a look at my generator, quickly diagnosed the issue (carburator was set for low altitude) readjusted as needed and I was out of there at a reasonable cost in both time and money. Id trust any truck work with him.
Knows engines, honest and speedy repairs
Stopped off for the night in Gallup on the way to the Grand Canyon. I was pulling my 34 toy hauler with my GMC 2500HD and it developed a fluid leak.I was pretty sure it was my drivers side front brake leaking brake fluid. T were able to work me in that morning.Their team cleaned up the fluid and took it for a test drive and determined that it was not the brake after all. I had my transfer case rebuild before the trip and we believe it had been overfilled slightly causing the bleed off valve released the fluid after a long uphill day.Theyre tech spent a couple hours of his time and the owner insisted not to charge me.Theyre diagnosis was correct and they were unbelievably honest. I tipped their tech and headed West. Unbelievable honestly! Thank you J & J!
Would not recommend their service.. horrible! Should have read their review because they have no idea what they’re doing. I had already told them over the phone that my truck might have DEF issues. Instead of telling me they don’t service this type of a problem, he still came out use his scanner to check the engine service light to only tell me it is a DEF problem and I need to take it to the dealer. And have the audacity to charge me $256! He said if I gave him $100 cash then he will settle for that. Wow
Emergency brake repair on our RV among some other more minor things. Erwin was great as well as the ladies in the office in hunting down obscure parts and getting us squared away and back on the road.
Had a air leak on our semi the road guy shows up caps a line and gos and sits in his truck and starts filling out paperwork I told him the truck was still losing air and he saids to call t/a truck stop and hands me a bill for $581.17 and drives off leaving us still broke down .
Good morning everyone. I showed at night because of a seal leaking . As soon as they opened i told them about the problem got a quote. And gave me a reasonable price and got right on it . They could be a little more friendly but remember were all humans and not every day is perfect . I wish everyone a safe trip . Remember smile and be friendly it makes peoples day awesome.
Great customer service all the way around. Very helpful, fast service and a fair price. Went above and beyond to make our situation ALOT less stressful. We are ready to get back on the road! Thanks again
As an OTR owner operator, it is so important to find a shop I can trust. I took my truck to J&J and there were 3 or 4 possibilities that could have been the noise coming from my front end. I can say with certainty that there are shops in the US, some of them high profile shops and dealers, that would have done more work to my truck than needed. My bill couldve run over $1000 easily. J&J fixed my truck quickly and my bill was $400. My truck hasnt run this smoothly in quite a while. There are very few shops I trust, J&J is one of them
Had trouble with the turbo on the Cummins ISM 500 e ngine in our motorhome. J&J got us in quickly, diagnosed the problem and got us fixed and back on the road
We got a slow leak on our RV tire driving through NM. Love’s wouldn’t help fix it so we came here and they fixed it and took care of everything within 30 min.Update: The rear tire was simply overinflated and blew out. I can’t blame them for this 100%. They did change my tire and help me out of a jam when Loves wouldn’t so I updated my review.
Very knowledgeable diesel mechanic (Ivan). His experience on Ford 7.3l engines is outstanding. The wrong parts arrived on a Friday resulting in downtime until Monday. Disagreement over who made the mistake - J&J or the local Ford dealer. Bottom line, we got back on the road eventually and we are happy with the quality of the work.
On 12/13/19 my 2015 GMC 3500 broke down in Gallup, while traveling across country to California from Georgia, after my annual 2 month hunting trip back home. I had my 11 year old dog, a freezer full of deer meat and a deadline to make it back before Christmas. Unfortunately the fix was not going to be an easy one, but everyone at J&J Truck service made it happen! I brought to them on Friday to diagnose and find out what is wrong, once we knew what was going on and worked with my husband over the phone with what exactly he wanted done, we ordered the part and the truck was in their shop Monday morning and on the lift immediately. I was told it would be possibly Tuesday afternoon when it would be ready, but with their hard work I was back on the road and headed home by Tuesday morning! Was it the cleanest looking shop, fancy sitting area, or everything looking brand new... No, it was a good old fashioned mechanic shop! It was real, welcoming and a no non-sense kind of place the second you walked in. The mechanics didnt treat me like a dumb girl and were very respectful. The front desk help went above and beyond to help, even though I was a complete stranger to this place, they treated me like I was at home going to my local mechanic.I couldnt say thank you enough to everyone there for making what was a very aggravating and upsetting situation, much easier to handle and gave me comfort that the truck was in good hands.
Great service.
I can’t say enough nice things about this group of mechanics. Very helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty. I was broken down and they could have taken advantage of me. They got me back on the road and were generous and honest.
Helped out in the best way
Awesome people awesome place took my truck there with an unknowing issue and got it fix they found the problem right away got in and out fast without braking the bank the young lady at the desk was very professional and the mechanics are very knowledgeable all had really good vibe I definitely 150 percent recommend J&J truck services.
Super service! We had issue with our ultra light trailer going back home to Canada. Staff at J & J were able to look at the damage really fast (it was new year eve) and the provided an estimate. Thank you for the fast and honest service I highly recommend.
Called first thing on a Monday morning, they saw me right away. Jim and Skyler fixed the problem with my generator in my motor home and I was on the road to Albuquerque. Thank you for the prompt and professional service.
We called late on a Friday, heading back home to Ohio from California in my 1999 Suburban. It took us an hour to be towed, through a third party, and arrived at closing time. We called ahead, suspecting a faulty fuel pump, and we arrived to all smiles, even though they had to stay late on the weekend. All of the mechanics we dealt with were top notch, particularly Johnson. All were very knowledgable and polite. They got the work done in half the estimated time, and charged the same, very fair, price they quoted. They got me out of quite a pinch and would recommend J&J Truck Services to anyone.
Great service great price they always get us back on the road
Very stand up people, they took us in quickly when we were traveling across the country going elk hunting. They helped us diagnose a cold water leak on our truck which just required 2 bolts being tightened. They were quick and payed it forward by doing the work for free. If I ever needed their services again i would not hesitate to call them.
Had a fantastic experience with these wonderful folks. After limping in with the motorhome early in the AM with a potentially serious mechanical problem they willingly looked at the problem, worked on getting the part needed to correct it and when parts were not readily available, they did a great job in fixing it using some new parts and some of the original part. Honest, sincere and caring exceptional customer service. Charges were VERY reasonable. Highly recommend their business.
Thank you, Thank you J&J truck service. Our motorhome broke down in Gallup, we are so grateful for there help and hospitality. We were on our way to off-road in Farmington when we broke down. Not only did they let us stay in our motorhome in the yard, they let us park our rock buggy in the garage. A storm came in and the temperature dropped below freezing, they ran an extension cord to RV for us. We are back on the road with a new Alternator. Thank you to the owner as well as friendly staff.Travelers from San Diego CASandy and Michael
On a XC trip pulling Pop up camper. Our Ford Explorer had a front end drive issue. Erwin and his mechanics got us back on the road very expeditiously. I usually do most of my own maintenance but being on the road I had no choice, these guys were good and honest.
Thank you guys for fixing our truck. We spent a day working on it, yall fixed it in less than 30 minutes. Johnson, you rock. Definitely saved our skins. I seriously cannot sing your praises high enough.
Professional, knowledgable, and quick,..got my 2011 deisel pusher back on the road for a fair price...recommend to everyone needing service...Antonio was outstanding and proficient,...if i owned a shop, i would want employees like him, thanks Antonio !
After finding out my RV needed an alignment while in Winslow, I called a number of places to see who could help. I am driving on a week long trip with two young kids, and was thrilled when J & J said they could get do it today. We drove two hours out of our way just to take it to them because they told us it would be no problem to get it done today. When we arrived, they shrugged there shoulders and said we can get you in tomorrow. The same guy I spoke to on the phone just shrugged, gave no apologies for the inconvenience, and seemed to have no care in the world that he just didnt check when he had given his guarantee earlier that day.
I called road mechanic( j & j ) @ I 40 exit 36 on 11/20/ 19, this guy broke the air hose and he hided it, the air start leaking. he didn’t told me that he broke the hose. You know, I would fix it there. He is a Bad, non honest guy.
Replaced engine harness on my Cascadia. Took pretty long to diagnose the problem. But these issues are hard to find. BUT charged only for work done. So Im pretty sure some other shop would want to charge couple more hours for diagnostics (dont want even think how much would that cost st dealership ). So thank you guys. Great job, great communication. The only problem is that nearest dealership is in Albuquerque. So if you know what parts you gonna need for sure, consider bring them with you.
If you are ever in the vicinity of New Gallup, NM, and need help, give them a call. They are friendly, helpful, and caring. A couple months ago our motorhome was overheating and they allowed us to pull in after hours and stay on the lot, then had us back on the road the next afternoon, at a very reasonable price. Even called to check on us before closing that evening. Thank you J&J!
The owner is a very honest and respectable man to do business with. Had a little part problem but he went out of his way to fix the problem. Thanks jim
A very helpful family-owned business
Absolutely amazing!!! Our RV broke down Sunday evening. Called them first thing in the morning. Not only did they have us bring it right in, they got right to it and it was finished by noon!!! Very nice workers and I just cant say enough about this wonderful experience. These guys are the best!!!
Single lady & her dog, FT rver broken down & towed to this shop. [Tues., week before Thanksgiving] After arriving I was informed they couldnt look at it until tomorrow. I got a motel & they drove me. Dont look for chivalry, he didnt bother helping with my bags. Next day Wed., shop manager called me & quoted $1500 for tune-up, replace exhaust manifold, flush the radiator. I explained my generator switch fell off & if they could repair that & maybe charge my batteries? Erwin said hed have it looked it. Thurs., he calls & says power steering sensor is going bad. I asked about the radiator & if it was going to be ok or need replaced. He said it was fine. Friday I go to the shop, found out about manifold & ordered one from Summit Racing [read their review]. It was supposed to arrive & didnt- now Im here throughout the Thanksgiving holiday. They did pull my RV out of the bay & allowed me to stay in it, instead of the hotel. The generator wasnt fixed & my batteries are still dead. I did get an extension cord to plug in my portable heater. Thanksgiving day, I see the owner & another employee as theyre bringing their trash to dump. Friday, a couple guys are on call - in out all weekend. Of the 8-10 employees & owner, NONE of them even brought me a turkey sandwich for Thanksgiving! Monday morning the parts arrived & about 2:30 I finally left NM. Even though They say ALL shops charge a 6% shop fee, after research...this is a blatant lie. The check engine light remains on, because they didnt have the machine to diagnose. Which tells me these men arent mechanics, they are basically, part chargers. Would I recommend this shop... not likely, the people I associate with appreciate customer service, courtesy, & fair pricing. Billie Parker customer.
Useless mechanic. They fixed my air leak. 100 miles later I broke down. Cost me way more because his unprofessional guys glue hose in to the other hose ... seriously... -10 star !“Fake 5 stars feedbacks”!
This guys stood late to me back on the road very knowledgeable about there work this little shop help out the working man
We r so grateful to theses guys. We had a huge problem with our rv. They trouble shot and found the problem, got us back on the road as fast as they could. Great group of people. The owner and Irwin were the best. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
My wife was driving cross country in our Dodge Diesel, towing a trailer. She was there first thing one morning, limping the truck along from bad fuel picked up in Texas. J&J changed the fuel filter and provided fuel treatment for the truck. They did not take advantage of the fact that she was a lady stopping in, they did not swindle her into a new transmission, they were great. They got her back on the road with the issue resolved enough to get her on her way. We are seriously thinking of driving 6 hours back to ask them to resolve all non-emergency problems with our truck because they are the most honest dealing shop we have ever dealt with. They were so good, we sent them fudge.
Did a great job on fixing wiper arm on mh .Thanks for all the good work. Dave& Linda Johnston
Had what I thought was a big problem with trailer brakes on 5th wheel. They not only fixed it but explained how I might fix it myself in future. Very honest people. I would limp there rather than try someplace else.
Turbo and actuator was replaced and calibrate less then 3 hours. Recommended as well.
RV tire issue.... this guys have no idea what they doing ...
Very unprofessional people, racist, hang up the phones without letting me finish my sentences. Dont waste your time there, you will not get your truck fixed but still get charged for it.
Had to get a tire put on my camper, called to have them come to our rv park and replace, gentleman on the phone took all my information, told me he would call me back with a appointment time and price. Never heard back from anyone. Went in to the office made a appointment to bring the camper to them, was told I would receive a phone call with time and price, never heard from anyone. I wont beg someone to take my money. On a side note the staff was friendly.
My truck a/c was not working and I bought the compressor at a different shop. This shop looked at it and spent about 45 minutes working on the truck. I bought the wrong part so they couldnt finish the job and charged me 120 when I was told 90 per hour and it took them less than one hour on my truck. Its not a lot of money, but they didnt even fixed the problem and I had to pay 120
Great folk blow fuel line on my truck pulled my 5th wheel in and truck they could not get the parts until the next day so they let us stay in our 5th wheel there and had me and my wife on the road very soon...very nice folks
We travel as a family with an RV. We stopped at the garage for a brake noise parking.ils tell me the price for one hour of $ 110 work of the dismantled heure.ils with me 4 bolts and a pin in 1:30. I quickly realized that I had with me the people who did not want to repair, I am left with $ 250 less in my pocket and still my sound. I drove 20miles and now I lose the pin. Im just saying not professional, expensive and incompetent.
$ a little high. Otherwise decent shop
Truckers beware...they dont have the proper software for Cummins engine. They use quickserve. Insite is needed supposedly fixed my truck. 10 miles down the road and same problem. Part prices are inflated. If you have to get work done here. Make sure you retrieve your old parts because they could still be good.
Excellent service, the best big thanks to Mike for fixing the problem
Very professional and knowledgeable and fair price
We had to be towed from the New Mexico welcome station..our 2500 and RV..dropped the RV at USA and The truck at J and Js. They got on it Monday morning and worked for 6 hours to fix the issue. They were persistent and found the problem ..we are back on the road..Thank you J and J!!
Although I believe the guys take pride in repairing vehicles; however, an estimate is not free unless you have the repairs done as I found out. Had I had 3 days to sit on my ass waiting for parts I would have let them fix my truck. They charged $50 to let me know something I already knew.. My water pump was leaking. Chumps.
Fast and reliable service!
They dont know what they doing broke my clock and they put the wrong part on my truck
Stay away from this shop no knowledge what so ever and super over price.
Great professional people!!!
Unprofessional, dirty, clueless workers....
Disappointed
Bad people have no soul, they charged my friends without even fixing their car for an abusive 2200.00
Good job, they take care of my troke late, but surely they are also on the matter of charging for work hours and I liked the deal and if I recommend it they are not careers like others
